The tires were under inflated -warning lights came on, had to turn around and I had to go back to the rental place to fix it! Otherwise everything was great!

They charged me the money and didn't want to honor the reservation. They wanted to give me a different car for 3x the price. Bait & switch. This company should be shut down.

The vehicle was not a proper automatic and it had about 30 scratches on the outside. They were very difficult and refused to give a refund

They didn’t have the car I had ordered and the ‘equivalents’ were not at the same level. They are all salespeople. You get off the plane exhausted and despite already having paid for a car they work irritatingly hard to get you to upgrade both the car and the insurance. A tiring, frustrating experience.

Cons:

The offering of insurance prior to getting the vehicle should have been better , since the insurance at the counter was outrageous. Also the drop off should have been described, since in that airport it is rather convoluted.

We were charged much more than was quoted. In addition there was some damage to the car which we noted at pick up but Agent told us it was all documented. They are now trying to charge us for the damage.... And they upped the rate by 50%. SCAM

Hour wait in line, overwhelmed agents. Once we finally got to an agent, waited another half hour for car to be cleaned. When returning car to Aberdeen airport, gas station was closed and didnt accept American credit cards.

The car had connectivity issues. I couldn’t connect my mobile phone to charge it or use its map. On my way, I stopped by two Hertz location hoping that they change my car but they didn’t. I am not satisfied with this rental at all.

Long distance between drop off and departure terminal--and NO SHUTTLE.

Terrible - the entire system was down and they could not move for 3 hours - even though I am a part of President's circle. Ridiculous. I am switching from Hertz - this with 7 others on a holiday? wow

Pros:

The car was great. Excellent gas mileage, handled well, and was absolutely impeccable when we picked it up. Service was kind and friendly.

Cons:

The return process has been a little frustrating. First, I was not told that I would need to keep the copy of the paperwork stating our agreement to give to the Avis rep on Orkney. Had I known that, I would have put it with the other confirmations and information that I was toting around instead of panicking. Second, I found the paperwork, gave the keys to the Avis rep, he said he would get it South from there, and I had nothing further to do. Unfortunately, I got an email from Avis telling me I was in breach of contract because the car hadn't been returned. This issue has not been resolved and is currently my only frustration with the rental.

We made a same-day reservation and when we showed up, the agent wouldn't honor the reservation. He said they had no cars, third-party broker reservations take at least 24 hours to come through, and dismissed my 'but I have a reservation' with, "but you haven't paid anything for it yet, have you?" He was completely unapologetic and uncaring. We paid for a taxi from the train station to the airport for this reservation and ended up having to pay several times more to get one of the few available cars at a competitor at the airport. Complete failure and I'm astonished Kayak and Dollar associates with this franchise.

Cons:

Company called partway through my rental to tell me to return the car because it had been sold! They offered an exchange but no compensation for the hassle of returning the car. Also tried to claim damage with small scratches on one tire rim - I was able to prove that they were there when I rented the car. You need to run your finger around the rim when picking up the car to check for tiny scratches.

My online car rental reservation process was smooth and hassle-free. However, upon arrival at the airport and visiting the Europa booth, we were met with a concerning issue. No staff members were present to assist us, even though we arrived just before their official closing time of 10:30 pm. We patiently waited for their arrival, but when someone finally showed up, there was no acknowledgment of our wait, and no sign of apologetic behavior. To our astonishment, we were informed that we had to pay an additional 35 Euros due to our supposed late arrival. This experience left us deeply dissatisfied with the overall customer service provided by the company. Regrettably, we cannot recommend using their services in the future.
