The staff was not helpful at all with my experience. The clerk at the counter refused my reservation because he claimed the system read my licence to be less than one year old and when I explained here it was a renewed licence he just said there was nothing he could do. When I explained to him I had just rented a car in the US with national and that I am 40yo, that in Canada licence are renewed periodically he just refused to do something to help on the situation. Then I requested him to use his land-phone to call anyone in Avis Corp to help he simply refused. When I asked to talk to his supervisor he refused and proceed to cancel my reservation.Cons:

There are three terminals in Monterrey where we arrived. There was no way to know which terminal the rental location was located. The very inexpensive rental price did not include insurance and they insisted that my insurance would not cover the vehicle so I ended up paying a regular rental rate of aroun $35 USD per day. The parking lot where we returned the car was flooded after rain and there was no safe place to get out of the car. Very difficult with large luggage.Advantage

I reserved a car with Advantage, but once there I was directed to Europcar, which didn't honor the reservation and tried to charge me 4x the agreed upon rate, plus demanded that I buy full coverage insurance from them. I cancelled the reservation and took an Uber instead. All this reflects poorly on Kayak, felt like a bait and switch.2.0 Poor

We ended up not renting a car due to the deposit amonut.Cons:
The agent was not clear that they would be holding a $3000 US depost on my credit card on top of the rental car fee. After charging the fee he ran my card again and it declined. We understood it would be 3000 pesos, so we were confident it would be approved. Due to them being unclear, we told them to cancel all transactions. They said they did but a $2900 hold remained on my credit card. For my whole trip in Mexico my only credit card was maxed out and I couldn’t use it for anything. This was my first time out of the US and purposely brought my credit card for emergencies, as of today the charge is still showing as pending.2.0 Poor
