We are very disappointed with our experience and will never use Avis again. After calling the day before our booking to change the pick up time and confirm (which the agent did confirm there was no issue with the new pick up time and the pick up time was changed), we took a taxi to downtown Avis from the airport as airport Avis was sold out. Upon arrival, Avis was closed and we were left without a rental car to get to our hotel 2 hours away. We took a taxi half way to the hotel before the airport Avis location called back saying they now had a mini van available, even though we had booked an SUV. This cost us about $400 more than anticipated ($100 taxi and can was $300 more for the week than SUV) and 4 hour of our time. It was a horrible experience on my birthday and to start our honeymoon and we will never use Avis ever again.

Everything could have been better…i will never rent fron there again….car smelled like cat pee, never got the vehicle that i had booked to rent and the price did not change from a truck to a small car…i feel completely ripped off

Do not provide any courtesy drop and pick up even for places within 2 miles. Their fuel policy is horrible. I filled up the tank right next to rental car location and showed the fuel receipt to the lady, but she would not believe me. She made me go again to gas station and I had force fill another 0.5 liter. Lost 15 mins and aggregation in process. Terrible.

I called multiple times including the day of pick up to ensure van that was needed to transport dog for surgery 5hrs away could use suv (I have Durango) too high . We needed space and lower entry of a van he’s 170lbs. I called 8am morning of pickup was told the van would be available at pick up at 3pm then they called at noon and no van offered me a Jeep Waggoner and when I went to look at it to see if I Caryl make it work they couldn’t open the doors..two key fobes and neither would open the door they said they would take to the dealer..I told them not taking it wouldn’t work anyway but even if it could work I wasn’t comfortable taking it no way two key fobs on brand new car needs a battery ..I would have ended up stranded sure

They canceled the reservation the day of the rental because there were no cars available. More advance notice should have been given. Fortunately the Avis down the street was able to accommodate us as well as several others who experienced the same thing.

Harman Johal is great -- a very friendly, efficient and understanding "agent" (he's actually the branch manager). Mid-rental, we needed to make two major changes to our original contract; Harman accommodated us quickly and with no hassle at all. Highly recommend!
