The car was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only critique is that when I wanted to change the drop off location the reservations central number representative could not help me. She told me I’d have to phone the original drop off location - Auckland Airport Hertz. I tried almost all day and no one answered the phone. I finally called the drop off location in downtown Auckland which I wanted to take the car to, and the staff member told me I could. But he wasn’t able to tell me whether it would cost any more, but he thought it would not. I took my chances and it turned out to cost the same. But I think your central reservation people should be able to make those changes to drop off location, should know whether it costs more, and the staff at Auckland Airport’s hertz counter should answer their phone — or Hertz should employ sufficient staff to handle the work load so the phone doesn’t get ignored. The answering machine which would come on, asked me to leave a message but as I was calling from a foreign number I was sure I’d never get a call back.

Quite difficult to organise pick up car post 5.30pm especially if one is not coming through a flight. Very difficult staff. Had to escalate to the manager who agreed that he would only wait till 6pm. What is the use of booking or allowing to book a car if the pick up Isn’t available after hrs. Even after paying extra for late pickup??
