Cons: Didn't get the car we reserved. The system was down at registration and didn't get a receipt until three days later and only because I requested it twice.

Comments on Car Rental Condition
Pros: Checks in and checkout process was very smooth and efficient.
Cons: Car was not as cleaned on the outside ie: bad wash job and not wiped down[properly...very wishy washy type of a look with lots of dirt marks left unwiped, making it very difficult to identify any pre-existing damages.

Agent went over and above !
Pros: Our flight was late arriving but our Hertz agent made arrangements for me to get the rental car after their office had closed. Excellent service !!

Cons: The shuttle system is a nuisance. It easily adds an hour each way. There's no instruction as to whom to contact once you get off your plans.

Cancellation, rebooking, and hours of service
Pros: Never had a chance to find out
Cons: Cancellation policy and hours of service. We booked through kayak and paid in advance. Plans changed so we tried to cancel--cancellation charge was almost as much as the rental. Tried to rebook the car for the new date. Not possible because we arrive after the closing time (4:00 PM). What car rental airport location closes at 4?? If you cannot provide the service, there should be a full refund.

Did not issue refund
Cons: Due to a funeral in my family, I had to cancel my plans to rent a car. The agent I spoke with said she would be refunding my payment to my credit card. Nothing has happened to date.

Cons: We didn't pick up the car as it was at an airport 100 kms away from where we landed. We rented from another company.
Pros: Pick up was easy breezy. Staff were kind and helpful! Always a great experience with Enterpise!

Pros: New car...that was hybrid when idling. Nice size, comfortable seats, and very professional people helping out at start, finish, and when we had the problem with the balancing of the wheels. Thank you!
Cons: The only problem we had was related to the balancing of the wheels. I think that when the winter tires were exchanged for the summer ones, the balancing should have been done a bit more carefully. We lost part of a day while we waited for the wheels to be balanced when it became a problem one week in to the trip. Maybe something to do with lugs too??
Oh...and the fob didn't work when we were going on to the ferry! Fortunately, it started to work again! A bit stressful!

Check the tires carefully
Pros: Nice vehicle, leather, heated seats and steering wheel and automatic start and lights
Cons: The tires were awful. I was to go over mountain passes and insisted on winter tires. With only a couple of cars left they did give me their AWD and they said the tires were rated as mud/snow they were bald. Scary on the passes!!!

Great overall experience
Pros: Quick service - nice, clean and good car.
Cons: Considering i was driving in the Kootrnays i really wish i had snow tires on! Some very dangerous driving and the tires were all seasons - not ideal for high mountain driving.

Cons: Pricing was a bit vague, for example there was no mention of a drop off fee. Not that it changed the final price, but a clearer breakdown of the costs involved would have improved the experience.
Cons: Charge for the car rental showed on my credit card in Canadian dollars and the correct exchange rate was not applied for a few days. Budget did it correctly but some reason it takes a few days on the MasterCard. No problem but confusing.

Terribly misleading car type
Cons: I was told i would get a nissan altima or similar, i ended up with a hulking, gas guzzling ford van, verging on a shuttle bus.
Pros: Car was clean, dropoff and pickup was easy tough ther could be better signs of where to go.
Cons: How can there be an extra charge for getting Winther tires on your wehicle when you rent a car in the Winther?
The wehicle are not allowed on all highways with only all season tires.

Pros: Very friendly, uncomplicated staff.
Cons: Poor selection of vehicles. Ended up with a 4 cylinder Patriot which was screaming most of the time due to the lack of power. Therefore used around 15 liters per 100km. Rather drive a V8 and at least be able to drive relaxed...

Payment issues on pickup
Pros: The actual car was fine. Well equipped for the conditions i drove it in.
Cons: At pickup the counter worker could not process the car on my visa for some reason and blamed my card for the problem. We tried another card from mastercard and same problem. Then we tried a third card a visa and it worked. Seems like their system only likes certain cards from certain banks. So bring a few cards with you!
Pros: They gave us a decent rate when there was a discrepancy between their records and what we were quoted
Cons: No idea the location was off-airport; it was apparently about a km away. When we got to the airport and discovered this, we tried to call the contact number we were given. It was a central number and they knew nothing about how to contact them directly. We ended up walking there because we didn't actually know how far it was - all we had was an address. On top of this, they changed to an on-airport location between the times of our pickup and drop-off, and though they told us about this, they gave little to no information about how to handle that. They had in fact merged their operations with another company, but they didn't tell us that. No signs in the new drop-off location - we had to run around to other rental companies to try to get some information.
