Friendly staff, clean modern rooms, good parking, good food. Slightly noisy, felt a bit out town
Friendly staff, nice room, comfotable bed & excellant pillows. Car park too small, Guests forced to take up disabled bays. I'm a disabled driver and had to park on street.
Well appointed near to the city ctr. Room is basic but functional. Breakfast was not good vfm. Very noisy near to main road
Rooms very comfortable - bed good Had to ask for more towels/tea etc Was asked for my debit card details 3 times. Though this was a little bit over the top.
Nice room, disabled access good, cafe food decent, staff polite and helpful Though close to town, it was very dangerous crossing the road approaching the roundabout (Not Ibis fault!), also the booking website did not give enough info on the difference in room prices, I passed the link on to my friends, one couple paid the higher price (as we did) another couple paid the lower price and got free breakfast!
location is excelent for the town centre stayed here on many different occasions would return and recomend
friendly helpfull staff, modern clean appearance of hotel comfy beds,..very nice , will stay again slight road noise ( from dual carrageway), but not a real problem
SImple and predictable - the best reason for choosing an Ibis Hotel Noisy kids in room(s) opposite constantly opening/closing doors late at night. Not the hotel's problem and it was quickly dealt with by the night staff when I complained.
Clean and comfortable. Value for money. A very dull bar atmosphere and the food offering is less than mediocre.
Very good value for money Difficult crossing road from hotel, but easy if driving & good location
good food slow breakfast service
Excellent accommodation and breakfast
Atmosphere;friendly but not overbearing staff;good food I do appreciate that refurbishment is ongoing, but the twin room is in need of upgrading.
Beautiful clean building with excellent food. The price was below the experience we received. I would highly recommend this hotel.
A warm welcome, convenient, well- appointed room, spotless bathroom, plenty of hot water, very helpful staff and a pleasant breakfast. Very obliging bar staff who provided us with a late snack. None - other than appalling weather!
Room accommodation very clean and bright. Bar and restaurant very comfortable, with a welcoming log fire in the evenings but most of all the food was excellent. None
Excellent food in the restaurant Room clean but furniture & fittings slightly on the shabby side, Could do with refurbishment
Excellent food, good service. Lovely character stone building with clean modern decorations. Still have the original mill wheel housing as a feature. No problems.
Friendly staff; good range of food and drink options, i.e. formal dining or bar meals.
excellent food; staff very welcoming and capable- nice attitude, willing to help in any practical way; went `the extra mile` mattresses were not up to standard, we felt - but we may be fussy
Just a 1 night stay, but I was pleasantly surprised by the size, cleanliness and comfort of the room and bed.I would stay here again and I would refer a friend. Good breakfast for extra charge. Only a shower in the room and I sometimes like to soak in a bath after a long day.
For price: facilities decor and equipment in the rooms I felt were better than travel lodge. Very close access to m1 jnct 30. Staff were very helpful
Clean and very pleasant environment.
I thought the staff were excellent
Parking, amenities, space, price ... no way to beat this one! No guinness on tap
the location of the hotel close to the motorway M1 the hotel is close to a pub - resturant threre is also some fast food oulet within walking distance .
Booking, checking in and use of facilities including car parking effortless Could do with Bbis sign at mcdonalds entrance because the site is so easy to get to when you know its near mcdonalds entrance
Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, food good, room excellent, hotel ideally placed None
we arrived at the hotel after travelling a long way to be met with freindly and effiecent staff......room was clean and comfortable....service in the restaurant/lounge was help yourself but it would have been nice to see staff serving...but all in all our stay in the ibis was better than in most hotels of its type. room was cold even with heater on....
Our dog was welcome (as were we!). We had control of the heating ang and ventilation in our room. Staff were friendly and helpful. In common with many hotels, there was no daylight in the bathroom - can't be helped, I suppose but I don't like artificail light first thing in the morning.
This is a convenient location for one visiting the great stately house, Chatsworth. It has a pub which serves good food and traditional English cooked breakfasts. Good sized room with attached bath. No problems. Not a problem, but it is set back a little from the road and we managed to drive by a couple of times without seeing it!
Clean facilities, courteous staff Room cold on arrival (ok after heating turned up - we had to work out how to do that). Heating made humming noise at night. Towel rail not heated therefore bathroom was cold. Had to walk outside to get to breakfast. On second day of our stay the breakfast (tomato and brownie) not properly cooked.
Ease of booking and paying. Extremely friendly helpful staff. Clean, convenient room. Couldn't get Sky TV to function - and no instructions. Am frequent user of hotels and Sky and don't normally have this difficulty. Would expect mini-bar in the suite I used - or room service. Minor point though.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and it was excellently cooked, piping hot and very good value. The breakfast in the morning was superb with excellent service and an endless supply of piping hot coffee. Nothing. It was excellent value for money.
Good value for money, secure car park. Room heating limited
size of room and lay out of rooms/parking etc room was tired and cold and didnt feel clean
good breakfast. hotel is in a street with houses opposite. Local rugy club use the bar - slightly noisy. More like a motel than a hotel.
Staff were very helpful and very personable
Firm bed, lovely breakfast, piping hot water, convenient, quiet. No instructions for heating - we were cold. Bathroom smelled of cigarettes and there was ash on the toilet seat. De caffeinated tea/coffee in the rooms would be good. Extractor fans were very noisy, we could hear 2 others when on!
Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Good parking None
The Restaurant!Great menu, food and service, all at a reasonable price. Had to go out in the rain to get to and from the restaurant. Over-flow car park had poor surface and large puddles.
Room was very clean and good value for money, nice rural surroundings yet close to motorway. Food was lovely None really, although room was very hot due to weather- maybe suggest a fan for residents
East access to motorway and road system The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable
location food could have been better
Nice bar area. The toilet/shower room did not have a floor to ceiling wall or door,,,, no privacy whatsoever!!!! For that reason alone I would never stay there again.
Bar area was nice and decorated well Room was shabby looking and carpets were in poor condition. Restaurant not much to look at to be honest.
Staff are always polite and helpful Cheaper rooms are still alittle shabby and dated
It had walls and a ceiling with heating (just). Friendly staff. No WiFi in rooms as advertised - got a poor signal in the bar but I wanted to do my work in private in my room. Shower cubicle too small for 6ft + people. Hot water in sinks took ages to arrive. Electric power shower was either too hot or too cold with no other controls. No digital tv. Old oil heater type heating for room. Poor food quality and range.
Carpets filthy. Poor lighting in the room. No curtain or blind over the bathroom window, though the glass was frosted (ground floor room overlooking the car park)
Excellent location Lack of power sockets for the electrical equipment Hair dryer would not reach power socket so I could not use it Could do with central heating instead of oil radiator & bathroom heater
This hotel was a delight. Run by a Danish couple it was everything a hotel should be. After a long day, a warm welcome, 5 different bottled real ales (Why don't all hotels do this?) and a lovely evening meal made the stay a pleasure. The bedroom is very scandinavian with lovely pine furniture and everything works!! Comment for information. It would be useful to have a house number for Cook St as the post code puts you in Cobden Street. The hotel is on the corner of Cobden St / Cook St, 100m further on on the LHS but is easy to miss in the traffic and dark and then you are in the one way system and in my case the roadworks.
Plenty of car parking, easy walk to town, very clean , quiet, and comfortable with friendly and helpful owners. Above average breakfast. We can't think of any significant improvement.
Owners were friendly, rooms were nice and modern. Good choice of teas etc in room.
Staff very friendly and helpful, clean, comfortable rooms, breakfast very tasty. Difficult to find a negative about this lovely hotel, but I did find the individual cooked portions at breakfast a little on the small side, however, there was plenty of fruit, joghurts and cereals available. Not a real negative to be honest.
Ease of parking, Excellent breakfast, Attention to detail by proprieters Bit out of the way, In view of this would suggest more information regarding places to eat or visit in the vicinity would make the hotel a good base for the first time user.
The hotel was very clean with lovely bedding and modern bathroom. The bedroom was small, not ideal for two to be able to walk around. The bathroom was a nuisance, the door opened up to the sink and to the left end of the room was the toilet and to the right the shower, but you had to walk to the toilet and close the door and then walk to the other end if you wanted a shower, likewise when getting out of the shower.. . My husband kept banging his arm on the towel rail as so narrow and the plug did not work in the sink, you had to hold it open to let the water drain away. The shower was not very wide you couldnt physically bend down, and I am not a large person. My husband couldnt use the shower it was too small for him although it was a very nice shower. Breakfast was ok but small.
Locality friendly staff and value for money
hassle free - easy to find location - friendly owners - easy walking distance to town centre close proximity to footbal ground might be a problem on match days but was not an issue on a Sunday evening
Very welcoming staff. Dinner a little expensive considering the type of hotel/venue but food excellent and well presented.
The owners were very friendly and created a relaxed atmosphere with their conversations without been intrusive.
Excellent staff, comfortable room
Really friendly staff, nice room, excelllent leisure facilities, a real gem of a hotel.
The look of the hotel and grounds The food at dinner was mediocre
Very comfortable appartment. The leisure facilities, pool, sauna and steam room were very good. We found it quite difficult to find the appartments from the main Hotel by car
Pool area was good and the room quite tastfully decorated and well serviced generally. no appointments available for whole three days at spa so dont go expecting to be able to use this facility. Service in restaurant was very up and down. Evening meals were served in three different locations and we were left to find! the restaurant. Breakfast ran out of food on all three days resulting in 30minute waits for ie:bacon or an egg, if you are not roomed in the main hotel walk to main building was about 5 minutes. Our room at floor level was only 6 feet from main road so very noisy from traffic and also locals walking back from pubs and bars throughout night.
Stayed for weekend break, the staff were all excellent very professional, especially the resterant staff (thankyou). We travel on weekend breaks regulary; this hotel is one of the best it is a great example of a true english hotel (it was a pleasure to stay with you). T
Co-ordinater of the wedding we attended was excellent. Receptionist was quite poor and a bit patronising.
Good facilities, good location Long narrow coridors, no lift, no offer of help with luggage. Restaurant service was below par.
The friendly service of the family who own and run the business. The food, which was absolutely fantastic. There is no menu. The chef asks you if there is anything you dislike, cannot eat or particularly do like and then prepares your meal. I am a foodie and both my dinner and breakfast were first class. The shower pressure in the room was very poor.
Friendliness of staff
very claen nice and quiet but not the hotel for you if your not a family the fact that we did not have front door key and was told we had to be in by 1 clock felt like a child
The cleaness of the premises, the good taste, the exotic animals, the good cuisine.
Good quality, clean accommodation with well appointed bar and dining areas. Walking distance to the centre of town (10 minutes). Friendly and helpful onwers.
Friendliness of staff Excellent breakfast Shower was vey poor. If the water was on full power, it was cold. If the water was warm it only came as a trickle Hence the value for moneyas only "fair"
Extremely welcoming, fantastic food, cooked to order exactly as requested, (no time restrictions, nothing too much trouble) Very personal service, yet not overbearing. No, I have stayed in many top hotels, away from home for business, and it gets to be a chore; this was a treat!
The ambience of the hotel was excellent The shower in our room No4 was inadequate
Our one-night stay left a lasting impression and a desire to visit again in the future. A warm family welcome in comfortable surroundings with excellent dining.
Very convenient position, friendly staff, good value for money The bed was very hard
All members of staff that we met were very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were well-prepared and good to eat. The air-conditioning is a very good feature. There is a lack of "Lounge" space, and some seating in the room would be a bonus.
wifi should be available free of charge, as is most of the EEC and the local pubs and cafe's
Breakfast room was not made up for 2 adults and 2 children on our arrival
Exelent Staff None
The room service chapped the door before 10 a.m. We had been to a wedding the night before.
chain hotel as expecteded
Everyone with exception, stopped, smiled and asked if we needed anything - quite unique for uk! None
From start to finish, this hotel did not disappoint. Friendly, efficient staff in reception and in the reasonably priced restaurant serving a varied menu with generous servings, to the clean, comfortable, warm and welcoming ensuite bedroom and free parking close at hand, this hotel made travelling easy. All this with free wifi too! I cannot fault this hotel and would go out of my way to stay there again.
Staff were efficient and quick with service. Food was served quickly and of a god standard. Room was comfortable and clean. Represented very good value for money. Safe/secure parking. Would use it again. Prefer a bath to shower - although water was hot and plentiful and a power shower.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. Plenty of tea/coffee etc. We arrived at 8:50 pm and were told to place our order for dinner before checking into our room as last orders are taken at 9:00pm. Breakfast finishes at 9:00am which is really early if you are on a relaxing break and also had to check out of room by 10:30 which we have never experience before.
An unexpected find, that delivered much more than I expected when booking. Helpful staff, good food and wine, and great service at very competitive prices.
The stay overall could be summed up as average, if like myself you are using the hotel for a business stay then it is fine. A home from home in some respects which is what you need. The rooms let this hotel down, they were ok but nothing overly clean about them and this was the first point that put me off re-booking this hotel. The reason for booking was due to a 3 day course I was attending in Mansfield, however when I came to re-book for a 3 night stay in December this was turned down then I was offered just 1 night.
