9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location has some exceptional views and is located in a quiet village. The rooms are part of a bustling pub and brewery but you wouldn't know when in your room, thanks to the soundproofing! The room itself was very well presented and modern, but still homely. The king bed was heavenly! Food was sublime but also excellent value for money! A well-stocked bar with a wide selection of own beers.
Cons: Not so much a dislike, this first part, and I would point out the breakfast, as with all the food eaten, was very good. However, as someone who had never stayed previously, the process was unknown and I was treated by the chef and staff as if I was some sort of simpleton! When I checked in I was asked if I wanted breakfast, which starts at 9 (though you can request a little earlier) - as I was due out earlier I said I would confirm soon and that was that. Later that evening, when I went to confirm, the staff stared at me clearly waiting for something more... it turns out you are to decide exactly what you want to eat at the confirmation stage, which having not been told or seen a sight of a menu I couldn't immediately tell them (and, even if I had been told, do I really need to inform them the moment I check in what I want to eat?!). On the morning of breakfast, I went to the restaurant and was greeted by a surprised chef. "You're supposed to be in your room!" and having confirmed I wasn't informed, she repeated, "the order says you are supposed to be in your room!" Eventually, she agreed it was OK for me to eat in the restaurant, as it was also easier for her! The chef came to me at the table and stated "your order says you don't want a drink. Are you sure?" Having not been asked, or told, at confirmation point, this too came as a surprise. All that aside the breakfast was bob on. Full of flavour, hot and served timely with a fantastic view. I just think they need to work on the process and not assume that everyone isn't a first-time guest! The price of the minibar! It was cheaper, and naturally more variety, to order room service than it was to simply grab a drink from th minibar. The hotel has a very well-stocked pub so its no hardship filling up the mini-bar each day am sure, therefore I see no reason to have such high prices.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the newness of the hotel, and the views of the countryside
Cons: The phone reception was non existent
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful decor, rooms were quiet and well appointed. The food was very good both dinner and breakfast with the scrambled egg being particularly excellent. Service was good and the staff happy.
Cons: Sunday lunch/dinner options a little scant. The free scone was a nice touch but confused by the minibar crisps.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the welcome, to the comfort and style of the bedroom, attention to detail from the staff, quality of food, view from the property, location, wifi connection, fantastic place to stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What can I say, they seem to have thought of everything. From a fresh scone with jam and cream waiting in the room, the ice bucket all ready full, and it didnt melt all evening, to a small pot on the side with cotton buds and cotton wool ball. And the decor of the room so outstanding. Definitely going back and telling all our friends.
Cons: Having to leave.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect room, beautifully clean, lovely staff. Faultless! So well designed & great attention to detail. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant, my only observation would be the lack of vegetarian choice. I would have liked to see a vegetarian special, that said what food I had was divine, my husband said the belly pork was one of the best meals he’s had. Breakfast was absolutely beautiful. Can’t wait to return, thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Great attention to detail eg fresh milk provided in a fridge in the room. Great view over a lovely rural valley. Brilliant food available in the pub.

Pros: we were not impressed with breakfast.
Cons: Right up to the time we went to bed we were so impressed with everything. We had a wonderful meal in the restaurant. BUT from midnight until about 2am we were disturbed by loud talking doors banging and on one occasion someone came into our room!!!!! we had not locked the door properly. A few minutes later they tried the door again. I suggest that the owners look into this as it seemed to me someone who was staying there was letting in someone who wasn't. I would appreciate your comments pease

Pros: Hot water system failed whilst showering but was soon rectified
7.9 Good
Pros: The mattresses their selfs were comfy, but when I booked it said queen size, and on check out I was asked if everything was ok, I said we expected queen size bed, but it was two mattresses pushed together and kept falling through middle, bit disappointing. She said it was two superior mattresses pushed together, but that’s not what it says on your description of the room. She said she would ask housekeeper to have look, but she won’t be changing it to one mattress will she .
Cons: Decor was lovely, good quality things, view, good choice of things, perhaps would have been nice to have a Diet Coke or something in fridge, but there was still a good selection of alcohol. Basically everything we needed.

Cons: I had to ring up to get my security deposit back. They said 2 days it will automatically put back on my card. Pros: I like the Wetherspoons model so the restaurant was appreciated. Remember there is no lift to the 2nd floor. Get a room on 1st floor.
Cons: I am 75 years old and there was no lift up to my room. The receptionist helped me when I arrived. 9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast on both days was really good offering everything one would need to start off the day. We stayed in the room 415 located in the potting shed which was spacious comfortable and clean. My partner had three spa treatments which she considered slightly expensive but very relaxing.
Cons: We arrived on a very cold and wet afternoon and soon realised that the heating in the room was not working. We called reception and a young female member of staff arrived to try and fix the problem by trying everything I had done before calling reception. Unable to get the heater working she informed us a male member of staff would be along shortly. When he eventually arrived he informed us he would take a closer look because he new more about these problems. Having checked everything I had previously done he informed us he could not get it working which was pretty obvious because we were watching him. I told him in my opinion the fuse had blown in the mains switch to which his reply was we can't do anything about that the maintenance man is on holiday. We eventually got a portable heater delivered to our room. We had reserved a table for dinner which was a costly mistake. for starters we chose couscous with beetroot tomato and other salad items it turned out to be about 2 desert spoons full in all for a cost of £4. The ciabatta was a thin slice of bread about 1 cm thick and about 2 cms high with balsamic vinegar.which I never found and small salad items £6.95. For her main course my partner chose the stuffed tomatoes which when it arrived consisted of 2 medium and 4 small tomatoes top with a thimble full of cheese crumbs and odd bits of salad cost £`13.95. My chicken breast although tasty must have come from the smallest chicken in Derbyshire. It was served with a piece of potato about 5x3x1 cm plus pak choi. £14.95 I also ordered seasonal vegetables at a cost of £1.95 which then turned out to be three carrots cut in half length ways. Having complained about the quality of the meal a member of staff apologised and has a good will gesture deducted the cost of the carrots !!!!! Needless to say we cancelled our table for the following night and went into Chesterfield and had a fantastic meal at a well know restaurant for half the cost of the previous night.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good Location, breakfast and staff
Cons: The first room given to us wasn’t clean and was so cold, the second room was noisy as it was next door to their office, and also with an uncomfortable bed.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The lovely house and our bedroom which was very comfortable and spacious
Cons: We didn’t like our experience in the dining room for dinner. We sat down at our table and it took a long time for anyone to take our order. After some time we were told they had to wait for each table to be served ?! The soup was not hot but good. My starter was not nice and ridiculously small.. It was a crab dish and absolutely minute with 2 baby tomatoes cut in half. The presentation was awful. The plates were not attractive. were not attractive. My steamed fish with plaice tasted okayish but when it was put in front of me my appetite disappeared! The fish was white (obviously) and the risotto creamy coloured. It was so plain no greenery. I know risotto is served on its own but oh dear. It was the meal was over priced and disappointing. The breakfast was excellent and the service.

5.4 Okay
Pros: The room was big. The full Derbyshire breakfast was very good. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The staff were friendly. Wifi sort of worked part of the time.
Cons: We walked into a cold room about 1030pm. The radiator in the room did not work at all (the one in the bathroom did work). The copper piping feeding the room radiatior was also not warm, suggesting this was not a radiator thermostat issue. A small plug electric radiator was already in the room, suggesting the problem was already known about. The heating is on a central timer, apparently. There was grimy dust between the sofa cushions, the shower water pressure was extremely low, the toilet flush mechanism kept falling apart.

Pros: The location was in walking distance to the Morrison's supermarket where there was the option to use the inhouse cafeteria . The Inn keepers were really nice to talk to and showed genuine interest in my travel stories.
Cons: My only regret is not being around to partake of their sunday carvery which sounded very tempting.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: room was fine bathroom was ok plenty of shower. gels/shampoo.
Cons: being way up at the top the stairs were a bit of a nightmare especially with young children and the luggage. both showers in the rooms got either very hot or cold not consistent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfy. Lovely white pine furniture. Lovely walk in shower. I was on 4th floor and although I had an achy knee and it took a bit longer to climb the stairs it was the perfect room for me. As it was on top floor it was quiet and relaxing. I only had one meal at the hotel which was gorgeous - well cooked and presented and a lovely bar to eat it in. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Morrisons Supermarket. There is a huge sports centre less than 5 minutes walk away, and a bus stop into nearby Chesterfield right opposite the hotel. Within Staveley itself there are various shops eg TOFS, green grocers, hardware shops so everything you need is accessible. I would recommend this to anyone
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent

Cons: It was a little far from Chesterfield, and getting there was inconvenient using public transport, but if you had your own transportation, it wouldn’t be an issue.

Pros: I simply loved the hotel and location. All I would recommend them to please try and keep your timings comfortable according to the travellers demand. A little extra effort on asking before hand about the food service would be amazing.

The room was lovely altho only 1 pack of biscuits to share with 2 people... that was a little stingy lol. I wont hold that against you tho. I would still come back.... and ask fir anotger pack next time
