Very good room - comfortable and well presented. Lunch was excellent! The continental Breakfast was poor - no choice - not in keeping withn the rest of the Green Room
Good TV, free WiFi, hot chocolate sachets & biscuits as well as tea & coffee provided in the room, excellent evening meal in nice dining room/bar, nice continental breakfast with home-made muesli. Friendly & welcoming staff. Felt fine as woman on my own. Room quite small, nice big powerful shower but no bath, single bed, quite hard mattress.
Single room small but very well fitted and immaculate. Fine for one or two nights. Excellent continental breakfast with fresh fruit salad.
hotel was clean and in good order.staff friendly. small room
Easy access thro rear door to car park for bringing in luggage.Good choice on menu. Decent wine list for matching the food on offer. Very helpful staff (googled a destination for me and printed off a copy). No complaints.
There was a generally good vibe about the place. Very pretty It didn't have a full length mirror! Essential.
The room was clean very modern and the shower was one ofthe best i have used, the staff were friendly courteous & polite The only thing that i would say is regarding the continental breakfast i felt as if the quantity of what i ate was being monitored somewhat felt discouraged from eating everything that i may have wanted, although the breakfast itself was great with a choice of home made museli, croissants, & pain au chocolat, cereals & yoghurt
Excellent shower pressure and town centre location very long loud and noisy council bin collection during the night/very early morning
Nice room and bathroom, friendly staff
quiet good eating place parking and getting around to the front door hard beds
Free Wi-Fi There was no hot water in the mornings. The heaters are not working properly.
The size of the family room was good, the cleanliness was good, and having breakfast in our room was convenient. It was convenient for our purposes, but if I was on holiday I would have preferred to have a breakfast room. Also the parking was a bit inconvenient.
Very good value, good clean room.
It was very clean with sheets / towels changed everyday. Great location near city centre. Staff friendly & helpful. Good Wi-Fi No wardrobe but coped ok. Breakfast could be better (I've seen worse!). Cabs sometimes had problems parking outside for pick ups due to parking restrictions. ooms have no phones!
Very convenient for town. none.
Clean tidy room and hotel. Centrally located. Small room. No secure parking.
Good staff high standard room appearance and space. No room to room phone, Radiators weren't on and it was cold. Shaver point and bathroom mirror light had no power.
Nice clean room, with flat screen tv and good size bed Toilet didn't flush, not just in my room, but also my friends room. This was reported, but still didn't work. Breakfast only available as a tray delivered to your room.
Rooms were lovely and clean good powerful shower nice big tv Noisy room as on busy room but after complaining we were moved for our 2nd night
Location close to towncenter small room and breakfast in to small room
The food, although a majority of people may like fancy cooking, good fresh home cooking with local fare would have suited me better. Also the service at mealtimes I found extremely slow
We enjoyed our stay at the Ash Hotel - the room was comfortable and the food was good
Nice staff. Pleasant but smallish room with selection of beverages and good quality toiletries - unfortunately hotel was full or we would have been automatically upgraded by the owner. Good central location for touring. Food was excellent but a little pricey. Black pudding at breakfast was the best we ever tasted.
made to feel valued and welcome, chef made me a special vegetarian meal as i wasnt able to eat what was on the menu and it was delicious as was all the food.
Friendly host; comfortable attic room - interesting space and decent- sized bathroom. No dogs allowed. Nothing really - wine and food not yet sufficiently geared to vegetarians
Quiet location, attentive staff, excellent food. Nothing
Friendliness of the staff who were there - two of them I think! Poor welcome - nobody on reception and heating not working at first in room.
The staff and food were excellent. It was quiet. There was nothing to dislike.
A very classy small hotel. Great personal service from the owner and indeed all his staff. Food was excellent and overall a very enjoyable and "chilling" experience. Will definately visit again None
Small touches like fresh milk for tea were welcome, the staff were very helpful and the bedrooms very comfortable. On the first morning some of the fruit at breakfast was beginning to turn mouldy, the bathroom ws slightly worn looking (but this is yet to be renovated by the fairly new owner).
convienient central n/a
Friendly staff, great feel. Close to centre of town. Good food and drink. Room was a little grubby (peeling paint on ceiling, large crack around base of shower, broken guards round radiators.
Friendly staff Disappointed with the cooked breakfast
No one offered to carry up my bags, I did not ask.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very well appointed and very clean with a good supply of hot water. The breakfast was excellent and the service was good too. Also I found the parking arrangements most suitable. I could not fault the hotel, staff or facilities.
Very nice hotel, very friendly and helpful staff (front desk and breakfast waitress in particular). Great breakfast. Great value for money, would definitely return.
room was not clean, old firniture, bed was not comfortable, light in the room was not enough, and room was smelly.
friendly staff it was tired and in need of refurbishment
The food was excellent and very good prices, nice size room car park a little small, a little more care with cleaning would be good, but this would not stop us staying again.
Rooms very dated and very cold bar area seats dirty and ripped restaurant too cold to eat in
a free beer needs more carparking
The friendly attitude from both reception and bar staff The bed had a big dip in the middle
The location was excellent for the town of Yeovil. Just one street away from all the major shops and sights. The room was up 36 steps (no lift), it was very shabby and the curtains did not close properly. The bed was unbearably creaky and uncomfortable. We had to go and buy toilet paper!
Friendly staff and a central location.
Central location, excellent breakfast, friendly staff
Only stayed one night. Were offered a free drink each in the bar, but it was too noisy for us. The bedroom could not be desribed as spacious - definitely small. There was no suitcase stand and nowhere to put one. Had to go outside to get to the restaurant. OK in dry weather, but not so good in cold, wet weather. People were smoking at the bar while we had breakfast. One young lady was very pleasant and seemed to be working very hard keeping up with the breakfast trade.
Good location, very friendly staff, great value for money.
easy access to town centre reception seemed to be closed alot of the time
Hotel was fine, situation was perfect, the food in the restaurant was fine, hugh portions, breakfast grear No
Food was good quality Paid more booking on line than the advertised price at the hotel. Room was very basic and small when I found the hotel via yell.com the contact number was wrong so I could only book on line with yell
Large rooms full of character, open fires in the bar.
Very homely Nothing
Friendly and efficient staff. Good food Bar area was a little cramped. Obviously owner sacrificed bar for restaurant space.
Excellent value. We had a very pleasant room, big TV and nice bathroom. The breakfast was very good indeed served by most helpful and efficient staff. It's on our list to visit again.
Great stay for Yeovilton Airday. Will stay again if we come down again. Food great, great staff.
very comfortable room. very friendly staff
Large comfortable bedroom, very good dinner and staff welcoming. Well located just half a mile from main A303 this is a good place to stop off for the night.
We enjoyed our stay, the room was a good size and decorated in a modern style with everything you need. the complementary bottles of water and the room fan were very welcome as it was a hot day. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Tiny old hotel with a fair price and quality are in correct proportions. Xxx
Very friendly host - excellent room - charming facility and location - very good breakfast.
Very attentive staff, lovely room, great breakfast, nice location None
Every effort was made to make the stay as comfortable as possible. We are used to good international hotels but needed a place to stay in this location and were pleasantly surprised by the care and attention to detail, the welcome and and, of course, the excellent value.
The Hotel was excelent in both value and quality. We were greated at the car and our luggage was carried in and then the quality of service just got better.
Very welcoming place, extremely helpful host, nice and cosy room withcomfortable bed. To us it was an excellent break on the way to Cornwall.
Comfort, service, choice of breakfast foods - all excellent. Nothing was too much trouble.
Wonderful attention to detail Helpful staff Staff almost too helpful, if that is possible
Wonderful service, brilliant room, excellent breakfast and wireless internet was a bonus.
An excellent stay, wonderful service and a fabulous breakfast None
A very nice place to stop, lovely village ,with history No complaints
The hotel was selected because of its location, but all the staff/owners were particularly friendly and courteous. The only problem encountered was the lack of a hair drier, or reference to one in the hotel guide. The hardwood flooring in the bar area made it particularly noisy.
A clean and tidy value for money hotel with friendly helpful staff
pleasant staff shower did not work very well
Wonderful and friendly staff....made welcome from first arrival until departure. Evening meal of a mixed grill was outstanding. Room clean and tidy. Highly recommend the Preston Hotel.
Friendly staff, great atmosphere in the bar, good to find somewhere with a true family room - 1 double 2 singles - at reasonable price Shower could do with a bit more pressure
the hotel was idealy situated for my needs not much heat in the shalley
Very good food
The friendlyness of the staff The Hotel is in the middle of a major refurbishment
Food was excellent i'd go there again just to eat there again. staff were really friendly and room was spotless. Shower in room was not too good, took ages to get warm and was only a trickle
A beautiful, quiet, friendly old pub. Staff was welcoming. Food was excellent. Our family ensuite was lovely. Comfortable beds, crisp sheets, big fluffy towels, even a cafetiere for our coffee! Plenty of footpaths for walking our dog. Can't think of one!
Wonderful location, beautiful Building and Bar. Excellent quality Breakfast, perhaps the best that I have ever had. Quiet and Friendly. Our Toilet was noisy, making a Shredding sound every hour or so. Breakfast service was slightly slow.
Excellent food, lovely room.
Good service, good food and drink, good atmospere in bar/restaurant. Central heating in room was not working but an electric radiator was included and the room temperature was ok. The electric shower did not function correctly and was either too hot or luke warm. Both were reported on checking out.
It really is a c15 inn as advertised! Lovely atmosphere in bar, food superb, though service a bit slow on last night (table booked for 8pm, main course not brought till gone 9. Didn't expect to be served breakfast by the Head Chef on first morning! Very clean and tidy throughout. Bowl of mini chocolate Easter eggs in bar a very moorish touch. Hobgoblin and Black Sheep on draught - cider didn't stand a chance! Leaflet in room with history of East Coker and 2 very easy 4mile walks - did them both. Masher thing on loo a bit noisy.
Very comfortable room excellent food at adjacent restaurant no extra charge for room minibar Box of tissues would be helpful in the room
The surroundings, location and friendliness of Staff N/A
Size of room / bar Checkout (10.30) and breakfast (only 8.00 - 9.00am!) too early for a Sunday morning. Bed too small considering room was large.
Well located for purpose and very efficent welcoming staff at all stages. The water presure in the shower/bathroom was weak and spolied effect of an otherwise high quatity establishement.
A good, large and clean motel type room. Restraunt food was fairly priced.
Staff were extremely friendly and service was very good. The hotel has some charming old features but with modernised facilities and was presented well. The bedroom was excellent but the bed had seen better days and the modern bathroom was spoiled by inadequate lighting.
Really welcoming, excellent accommodation with access to a patio with table and chairs. Staff friendly and helpful. Good menu with a wide variety of choice. Superb food well served. Would definitely go back again next time we are in the area. Liked everything
Very friendly staff. Lovely evening meal in cosy surroundings. The toilet would not easily flush in our room and it did smell a little musty.
The rooms were equipped for every possible need.
Fabulous, lovely setting and gorgeous hotel. The rooms are amazing and the building where the restaurant/bar are is stunning
The location was peaceful, staff were excellent and the evening meal was amazing. The owner had only been there 6 weeks and was clearly taking stock and planning what needs to be improved moving forward. NA
Food and welcome good location excellent Room was small and very hot
Hotel was excellent and the staff and owner were very professional and friendly. There is room for refurbishment of some areas and the very recent new owner is very aware of this and knows what is required to make this into an exceptional place to stay. We loved it and will definitely return
Room was very good, staff very friendly and breakfast was excellent. would have no hesitation in recommending this pub to anybody. everything good.
A very convenient welcoming & picturesque hotel
Friendly staff and the new landlord (only 5 weeks) is obviously working hard to improve the standard of this Inn. The food was excellent with a good choice, service was good and we felt that we had value for money. As there is going to be some refurbishment we will be interested to visit again in a year's time.
The building work has turned the exterior of the hotel into a building site.
too much butter used in cookin the breakfast.
clean, staff were friendly , food was excellent
The food was good
The quietness of the accommodation in a chalet in the garden away from the noise of the pub or road Restaurant service could have been better but maybe they were short-staffed so used plates were not cleared at dinner or at breakfast. We waited 20 mins after main course but were not asked if we wanted a dessert, so returned to our room
the staff were very friendly and helpful. this hotel is far more welcoming than many i have stayed at.
The split level room gave great views over Somerset. The breakfasts were great. The pond atrracted some intesting characters on Sunday morning. The location is great to visit National trust properties.
Friendliness of proprieter his family and staff.
Good choice value and quality in the resteraunt, And nice pub enviroment. Lack of Table Lamps in the room, The main lighting was very harsh and tended to give you headache after a couple of hours.
There was nothing favourable abut the room There was vertle righty lit
Restaurant for dinner and breakfast very good variety and quality..Pleasant outlook and grounds to rear of hotel Unsatisfactory state of room on arrival
Quick reaction from the staff to correct a problem when one happened even to the extent of changing rooms First room wasn't prepared correctly, tv wasn't working, and welcome tray was dirty with partly used biscuit pack.
facility is quite modern. Staff very helpful
Convenience, clean and staff were good ironong board in room Double bed and no digital tv was there a hairdryer
Beautiful rooms and facilities No late bar
Good location, lovely breakfast. The room wasn't cleaned properly during our stay - ie the bed was made but no hoovering, sink not cleaned etc.
Always a warm welcome, rooms comfortable, excellent food. Occasionally delays at the bar or restaurant - bottle neck of only a few staff on duty.
The staff were welcoming, attentive and the food was lovely - happy to cater for kids. The accomodation was ground floor and was actually two rooms without a door ideal for the children. Motor museum, air museum very close by and longleat (fantastic place to visit) only 30 mins away. Will stay here again.
Beds were a little strange. Very modern, not sure of the wooden planks round the outside.
Very welcoming staff, beautiful facility, great meals, great location. Some cooking odor in the room.
location - Devonshire Arms is situated on the village green - friendly atmosphere- excellent food
Friendly and attentive staff and excellent food.
nice pub and resturant hotel on main road and raod very noisey, also blinds only on windows and pub has lighting at front so room was lit up at night making it hard to sleep and could hear resturant/pub noise downstairs in your room
Very much enjoyed my recent stay at The Devonshire Arms, comfortable and clean room and excellant food from local suppliers.
The evening meal at the hotel was really excellent The annexe where we stayed was very noisy both pipe work and courtyard garden.
the welcome we recieved on arrival ,view from room over the village green ,frendliness of the local people, food was of a very high standard, will stay again when in the area. nothing but praise for this hotel.
Decor was lovely and staff were very friendly.
Excellent room, friendly staff and food was superb. Had good reviews when I booked - I fan easily see why, would stay here again!
