Cheap and quiant
Relaxed nature of the hotel together with helpfulness of staff - especially as i was with my 78 year old mother! Only a small point - although fruit was availble would have like fresh friut salad and fresh orange juice with breakfast.
Location right at the beach, very helpful stuff, nice restaurant with view to the ocean, good food.
We had a warm welcome and staff were very helpful. The location was great and we would have no hesitation about going to the hotel again
excellent position staff friendly double room was on the small side furniture was a little tired !
Great view of the ocean from the terrace The breakfast buffet was very simple and "a bit dirty" but the atmosphere of the hotel makes you forget it rather quickly
The hotel is located right on the beach, ideal for travelling in the area. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff very friendly. The coffee at the breakfast bar was not as good as other Spanish coffee we had throughout Spain. The town is very quiet as it was the end of their holiday season and there was not a big choice of restaurants but what we found was excellent.
Well located hotel with helpful and pleasant staff. Good supply of maps for the local and surrounding areas.
its proximity to the sea, its quietness, the breakfast buffet and the possibility to eat brekfast on the balcony, the friendly service although the service was perfect, the dinner menues were somewhat below our expectations
small family hotel, relaxed, more intimate than larger hotels, good location over looking beach and within easy walking distance to centre of town
The Reception were fantastic very helpful The bar area and staff
The people at the reception desk were absolutely fabulous. Also the other waiters were friendly and helpful. The 'old' part of the hotel looks like a monastery, so beautiful. The balcony was never cleaned. We founds toenails from other persons there. During the evening the garden-lights are so 'overwhelming' that sitting there and drinking something near the bar is not romantic at all. Less light and more candles we should say. Or create a more romantic part in the nice garden.
good hotel, very comfortable, close to beach, nice small pool
This hotel was in close proximity to the beach, as we desired, however there was no water view as was indicated in the ad for the hotel. It overlooked a new construction of apartments which severely limited our view in this hotel. As I noted above, there was no view at all, which disappointed us very much. The hotel is very old and in need of updating and cleaning. Furniture and linens were old, dingy, and need to be replaced. The room was extremely crowded and for the price we paid for the stay we were very disappointed. Our expectation was not met and was nothing like we read about in the booking.com ad.
good and helpfull staff nice sea view good position rooms on the smallside
The position and it's nearness to the beach and its fabulous seafood. Whilst the staff aren't particularly fluent in English, they speak considerably better English than I do Spanish. San Lucar is a fabulous base for sightseeing, Jerez, Cadiz and Seville are within easy reach. We had a brilliant time, and will be returning.
It is standard that hotel rooms are equipped with TV. Therefore a guest, who want a quiet room, can hear the programme of his neighbours up to midnight and longer.
the romms and lobby are very nice and modern, the breakfast was good, there is a parking garage under the hotel, but costs extra the poolarea outside is a little boring
Good location for restaurants. Free parking in road. Staff good
Location was perfect for the beach. Also very close to the ferry crossing to the Donana National Park. A 5 minute walk to the town centre which was fine. Plenty of free parking around the hotel.
On checkin our room smelt of tobacco and the receptionist changed it at once.
Veru good value- pleasant decor and comfortable. easy access to beach area and walking distance into town.
The position which is close to the beach and excellent seafood restaurants No
The hotel was very clean, comfortable beds, and very good value Very few people staying as it was low season so restaurant and hotel lacked any atmosphere. Was a bit far from centre of town
Right in the centre of town in pedestrian area, adjacent to plaza with bars, restaurants and cafeterias. Casa Balbino served superb tapas (the tortillitas de camarones arew quite exceptional). Hotel breakfast was excellent. Hotel seemd to be newly renovated throughout -- clean everywhere, well decorated -- and comfortable room with a terrace looking onto the hotel. Good air conditioning and quiet. Good parking facilities in a nearby building although a little tricky to navigate narrow streets (hotel provided directions by email, with relevant entry code). Helpful staff and good internet connection. Rated 2 stars but certainly deserves more.
Great hotel and good base for getting to the Donana National Park
Central location. Very clean and well appointed rooms for the class of hotel.
Staff were great, very friendly. The rooms are fine for the price, we had a small terrace. The sun terrace is great, with good views over Sanlucar. The extras such as a couple of laptops in the lunge area for residents to use is also good. Wi-fi is free throughout.
Very centrally located. Pleasant and helpful staff. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed.
The location was excellent. The hotel overlooked a square with the most wonderful tapas bars, The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good. Overall it was excellent value and it was useful to be able to have parking arranged. Though parking was arranged by the hotel, the directions and instructions were sent in Spanish. A map with the relevant details and directions would have been a helpful addition.
comfy comfy comfy, spotless!!!!!!!!!!!!! i did not like the fact that no one spoke a word of english. my spanish was passable...but there were moments that some english would have been helpful.
Lovely hotel with excellent staff and a wonderful location right in the middle of the town. Very difficult to drive to as you need to park some distance away and get a carpark card. Otherwise a wonderful place to stay.
Very friendly helpful staff. Lovely clean room. Great location for bars & restuarants.
Excellently situated in centre of Sanlucar de Barrameda. Friendly, helpful staff. Great view from roof terrace.
Recently renovated, modern standard. large room with lobby. Room clean, very good and friendly staff. Ideal location in city. parking near hotel can be difficult, but with luck you can catch free parking.
The location is superb for visiting the old town of Sanlucar. Adequate facilities for a short stay. Friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast was poor
The receptionist was very friendly and helpfull. Room was clean and warm. The breakfast was not good value.
The hotel was fairly OK, near some good sherry Bodegas and the beach are located. The room was clean and we had a pleasant staying. -
Very good location near the beach and city center. Great view to the ocean. Good value for the money offseason.
Very central location and good facilities.
The staff were friendly.Breakfast was good.
Friendly staff, excellent value and a great location by the lighthouse.
The Hotel El Faro is well-situated near the beach and the town for restaurants, tapas bars and bodegas. The noise at night was very noticeable with noise from other rooms during the week and noise from youth and cars during he weekend. The breakfasts were not good value for money but there was little alternative at that time in the morning
we were comfortable room bed bathroom very clean close to the sea.no parking but we were able to park on the road closeby and car was quite safe. would go again.
An excellent but quiet location for the beach and town centre, with friendly, helpful staff. The rooms are basic but well maintained.
A really good family run personal hotel. 2 minute walk to the beach and restaurants, really enjoyed our stay & were treated like family!
Staff very friendly Close to the beach and de center of the city
Friendly and helpful Staff
friendly staff! the breakfast was not good and too expensive.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, and really helped us get around El Puerto and to Cadiz, any question was met with the best amount of help we could have got. Booked a double room for romantic holiday with fiance, ended up having to sleep in separate beds, also when asking about changing rooms to one bed were told that this particular 4 star hotel had only 7 rooms with double beds? Also internet usage was 7 euros for half an hour, and there was one english news channel, no cable, and no ability to rent a movie or anything. The technology was poor.
Location was excellent, just on the sea side of very nice resort Chipiona on Costa de la Luz, Cadiz Provence... The Hostal style was lovely. not much I can ask for the rate I paid.. .. TV a bit dodgy, Fridge not working. Did not try air con....Owner looked a bit disinterested, but she cracked a smile every now ad again when I tried my faulty Spanish !!!
Great location, informal atmosphere and set in a more typical Spanish town,
Excellent position and the staff were eager to please. the rooms were generally clean and the beds were fine. Good value. Parking was difficult. Some lights didn't work. Large cockroach in the bedroom! I had to change rooms as the lock on my door was broken.
Clean and comfortable. Room with balcony overlooking sea excellent. Fridge in room useful. Manager helpful. Location perfect. We would return!! Could be noisy in high season due its location on sea front.
the room was clean, the thing that I liked most was the position the breakfast was a bit poor
It was right on the beach, the room had a great view and an excellent air conditioner. It also was nicely decorated and had both a tv and refirgerator. The restaurant down stairs was also very good We liked everything
Staff were unfriendly & indifferent. Breakfast was one roll and one cup of coffee per person, and they wouldn't serve before 9am. No parking facilities and not a particularly comfortable hotel.
This hotel is located on the beach in a very nice village, perfect location for family or couples. Walking distance to the small city center, close to restaurants and tabas bars, 5 min walk from supermarket. Easy to get parkingplace in october close to hotel.
The cool, serene atmosphere, the architecture with internal courtyards surrounded by Arabic arches and columns, all gave the feeling that we were staying in a truly Spanish setting and that we had found what 'real' Spain is about. Our bedroom was very large with extrawide bed and a sitting area with sofa , and had interesting features - vaulted ceiling and stone floor. Breakfasts were excellent; marvellous fresh orange juice, cheeses, serrano, tomatoes, toast, served in a beautiful courtyard by a smiling waitress. the street at the back of the hotel, on to which one of our windows looked out, was run down
very close to the center of everything but very quiet and off the main street. Very personable staff, lovely courtyards. Nice small restaurant on the premises. parking was difficult to find
Location, original features No
Beautiful rooms and spaces. Nice big room with lovely furniture. very beautiful roof terrace with views of historic towers. Lovely Andalusian patios with comfortable seating. Very clean, delicious breakfasts and pleasant staff. No
This hotel is beautiful being two former courtyard house, full of character and furnished with antiques. Sancular is a lovely authentic Spanish town. Room was a bit small (although clearly some are quite large) but nicely furnished.
Visited the old town.Went to the beach.Went to the Bajo de Guia area, great seafood El Bigote bar had outstanding food and a great atmosphere.
Beautiful Andalucian style hotel in an excellent location - hotel staff are helpful and considerate.
The beautiful airy and shady courtyards that provided a refuge from the fierce heat of the sun, even when outside one's air conditioned room. (For sunworshippers there is a very large upper deck with minimal shade)
This was the second time we stayed at the Posada de Placio. Again we found that the reception staff are cold and unfriendly - no welcome on arrival, no thanks on leaving. The rest of the staff are very nice. We liked the new gastropub but the menu and cooking need some refinement. The hotel itself is a lovely mixture of old and new and quite eccentric in ways but it's a lovely place to stay. A little warmth from the front of house staff would greatly improve the whole experience - there is no feeling of being welcome or that your custom is appreciated which contrasts greatly with other places we stayed in during this latest visit to Spain e.g. Casa de las Merdedes in Malaga where the staff are extremely warm and friendly. As above.
The position outside Cordoba is quiet and with fresh air. The swimming pool with grass is a big plus. The food is good. The parking outside is also convenient. I was on the wrong side of the building thus missing the view and there was unfortunately works wich made the room far too noisy to stay in from 10 am. Far from the center.
