Great natural feeling landscape with beautiful view. Down in center of town within walking distance of many points of interest. On-site dining was disappointing but not a problem with many eateries nearby.
Rooms were great. Lobby is excellent. Location is good. over all excellent. I did not quite like the restaurant staff. Sorry I am having to say this.
The room accommodations and staff were excellent as was (surprisingly) the food at the hotel restaurant. Access to room was awkward since hotel is built on a hillside. Proximity to main part of Yosemite is deceiving. Although only 15 miles from southern park entrance it is another 26 miles to the main "valley" of Yosemite on a winding mountain road taking a total of 90 minutes. Excellent place to stay if only taking one day to see Yosemite highlights and driving through from the northern Mariposa entrance.
Close to highway 41 and Yosemite. The heater was very loud. Several times woke up to turn it off due to rattling and clicking sounds. Otherwise nice hotel, HOWEVER......woke up in the morning to our gas cap on the ground. Someone had syphoned over half a tank of gas outfoxed our expedition! That's ALOT of gas. We called the office, no security cameras and their 1 security guard happened to be off that night. Worst part is...they were aware. Staff response was "ugh! Again?! Havened to 5cars yesterday! It's a problem we have". Really? No notification to your patrons? No extra effort for increased security. Not ONE SIGN of "park at your own risk. Not responsible for loss or damage". No notice on any paper or receipt and no verbal communication. Spoke with manager who blew it off. Complete lack of customer service or even sense of responsibility. At least make patrons aware. We will not be back.
The hotel was close to Yosemite which is why I came to the area. It was close to many restaurants and stores. So you had a wide variety of types of restaurants to choose from. I traveled alone but felt very safe in the area. The staff was very friendly and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. They really made my stay very pleasant. Wonderful staff both in the check in area and restaurant and bar located on the premises. The room was clean and quiet. The lobby was lovely and welcoming.
The staff were accommodating and friendly. I was running in an event before continental breakfast would have been available so they packed me a goodie bag so I would have something to eat. They also accommodated a late check out for me so that I would be able to shower after my run before my long drive home.
close to yosemite NP and close to businesses in Oakhurst. Rooms need updating, layout of rooms is tricky.
Beautiful grounds, well landscaped, beautiful lobby, comfortable bed, cool murals of Yosemite in room and lobby, balcony was a plus, dinner at restaurant right next door was excellent for the price. Pool was too far away, the whole property is on a hill and the pool is all the way at the top.
Room size, open feel, great location, ambiance, large and comfortable king beds, spacious bathroom, scenic location, friendly staff.
The staff were very accommodating. Room was spacious and had all the amenities. Great location! The only negative - pillows were not comfy.
Hotel room was pretty clean and they had a good breakfast. The receptionists were friendly. It was 15miles away from the south entrance of Yosemite National forest, I wish it was closer.
Th price was reasonable. Most Comfort Inn's are HOTELS this is a motel, which is not terrible. Just not real comfortable with that traveling alone - I will look closer the next time I book. Check in was slow and less than welcoming. When asked where If I wanted a room upstairs or down I said I did not care. Then in a loud voice she verified that I was traveling alone and other info - with a lobby full of people checking in. I didn't care for that being announced. When I drove to the section where my room was. I stayed in my car for some time because I felt uncomfortable with the group hanging out on the balcony, smoking, drinking and listening to loud music - who would be able to watch me walk to my room across the court yard alone with my bags. They stayed - so I just braved it out. I did not feel real safe & was very mindful of my surroundings when I later left and returned from dinner. Those people continued to party on a Thursday night until around midnight. I would not stay there again as a woman traveling alone. Breakfast the next day was marginal at best - I skipped it.
Spa shouldn't be closed on cold seasons
They were very kind and welcoming. Great location and close to The Pines Resort where are friends were getting Married. It was a non smoking room but the room was either previously one or the previous guests did not abide. That was the only thing negative to say about this great, affordable Comfort Inn.
Good value for the money. Friendly staff at the reception. Breakfast area a little small, but staff is very fast to respond with filling and cleaning. Overall very good experience.
I loved the beds, the comfy pillows and clean sheets! Fridge had perfect capacity and the tv options made it easy to be a mom away from her kids on my solo adventure. The breakfast options were excellent. The a/c took awhile to catch up in the high temps but after a few hours it was an ice box. just took a bit to get there.
Location was close to Yosemite, and the room was clean. We got just what we needed - close, cheap stay to the park. It's a budget hotel but it's a good value for your money. The breakfast wasn't great, but I wasn't expecting it to be.
Close to Yosemite but the hotel staff is terrible They were short tempered. They hung up the phone during the conversation. They asked us to use a pump on the toilet by ourselves (probably though we work for them)
Ease of check-in/check out. Breakfast. Convenience of location. Window blinds in bathroom were filthy. Noise and all night lights from adjoining restaurant/kitchen outside bathroom window were annoying, had to keep bathroom door closed. Heavy drapes in bedroom covered air conditioning vents preventing air from venting into room.
It is a family inn managed by his owner. Very nice place. Kind of being at home. Very close to south entrance of Yosemite national park.
They had breakfast included, free parking, and free movie rentals. Our room door was left ajar for hours after the room was cleaned, and there were dead bugs squished on the walls of the bathroom and bedroom.
Close to Yosemite National Park. Cute carved bears. Quite noisy, on a truck-filled highway, even after I specifically asked for a quiet room. Only a continental, not full, breakfast. Room needed a facelift; not attractive at all. Uncomfortable bed Hall carpet was filthy. No TV listing. Quite weak Wi-Fi signal. These are a lot of weaknesses for a three-star establishment with a $120 rate. I won't stay there again.
They surprised us with a suite with a huge balcony which was wonderful. Clean & lovely staff. Oakhurst is a small town with little to offer for fun. Breakfast is a cattle call with everyone fighting to warm their bread or bagel in 2 toasters. Oakhurst is much further than I'd imagined from Yosemite.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Clean, comfortable room close to Yosemite.
Nice place, good price, not far from the entrance to Yosemite. Clean. Lobby is being remodeled. Room was spacious. I would stay here again. Toilet and shower/tub were a little old looking. But worked fine and clean. Breakfast could use a few more choices. Some hot foods besides toast would be nice.
Had big rooms and had offered a good breakfast in the mornings. Beds were comfortable. That I wasn't told there would be an immediate Room charge deposit placed on my cArd until I left. since I had already paid for the room prior I was expecting that extra charge right when I checked in.
The friendly staff are happy to share the colorful past of this historical hotel and its conversions from cattle ranch to post-WWII military hospital to Hollywood getaway to the family retreat and special occation hotel it has become today. All the rooms have character and special touches to achieve the overall Western feel of what was originally a ranch. The resident cats are friendly and fun to see around the hotel: Hunter greeted us at the reception desk along with Moo; Valentine (or Valley Girl) was usually curled up somewhere; and if you're lucky, you'll see John Wayne sauntering around the grounds. Our corner room (Sarah's Room) was wonderful! We loved being there and hearing the stories of the ranch. Our only disappointment was the restaurant is only open Thursday- Saturday and our stay began on Sunday. Next year we will plan better so we can invite our family to join us there for dinner.
Comfortable beds ( two queens that we were looking for) and location, close to south entrance to Yosemite NO. Worn- potholed parking lot, worn furnishings, some cat box smells from the lovely 3 cats.
Really lovely B&B -- the proprietors are exceedingly friendly and helpful, the breakfast is excellent and the rooms are very cozy. It's a bit far from Yosemite valley (about an hour and a half to Half Dome Village without traffic) but if you're okay with staying a bit further out I highly recommend it. Close to Oakhurst as well, which has some nice restaurants and grocery stores.
