i loved the hotel. my only complaint is that it costs 20 euro per person to use the pool. lovely hotel, great area
tranquility, size of room
Well equipped, comfortable rooms with good lighting. clean, quiet and well placed for our trip.
perfect location for exploring Cianti, palazzo fully renovated with all amenities, everything in high quality level,we would like to come back !
Very nice staff, excellent rooms. The SPA had very restrictive hours. The breakfast should be better in order to keep up with the rest.
This hotel is secluded and quiet. The rooms are extremely well appointed and the staff is courteous and helpful. Internet access is free. Parking is convenient with a large lot that is much less challenging than most European hotle lots. The parking lot is outside the city wall about 200 meters from the hotel. There is a loadng zone for guests in front of the hotel. The hotel is a bit removed from restaurants. The town is very hilly and walking to restaurants is a good workout. There is one restaurant about 100 meters from the hotel.
friendly clean quite
The hotel was in a good location but had a bit of a hostel feel to it. The staff was very helpful though and fluent in English, which was a plus.
good location, good breakfast, especially coffe have to argue with receptionist after 7 hours long drive, because they booked 2 rooms, but I just booked one and then modified booking, bathroom
Convinient location, good breakfast
Good location, good staff, well located for my needs (cycle trip) and very reasonable price for the quality.
location, good breakfast buffet small parking. Need to use public 10min walk
Staff courtesy, ample breakfast buffet
Good location between Sienna and Florence
It is a nice hotel with excellent location in the center of a wonderful small town. Staff can speak English very well.
friendly and helpful staff uncomfortable bathroom
Nice gardens and pool This hotel is over promoted and does not live up to the claims made in its marketing. It is located on the edge of the town and is definitely not within walking distance of town as claimed. It is also not a 4 star property, more a like 3 star. Prperty is over priced and does not offer good value for money.
It was a super location in the heart of Tuscany. Buses to Sienna and Florence are just up the road and a great cafe and restaurant are across the road. The Hotel had a very relaxed feel and excellent outdoor surroundings/pool. Breakfast was 15 euros per person and very overpriced for what it was. The main bar area felt souless and we saw no-one use it.
This is a converted monastery that was built in the 10th century or earlier. It is an amazing hotel. Service is great and the rooms and facilities are very nice.
The place in general , swimming pool
The room was over two floors, a fantastic amount of space. Nothing, the room was excellent.
The location is v.good - short driving distances to San Gimignano, Siena, Monteriggioni, & Volterra. Hotel is on the outskirts of town, but still reasonable walking distance to main centre of Colle di Val D'Elsa. The staff are all very pleasant & helpful. Only very minor things like lack of 1 or 2 ameniites in the bathroom (eg tissues)
Nice atmosphere. Relaxing. For people who like to have a quiet hotel and not crowded. The breakfast was very basic. Not a 4 star hotel quality.
Quiet accomodation ,fair price for fair room. The facility "decor" is unique but something is missing for the ambiance. Maybe low frequentation that night. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was not up to our expectation. Limited amount of client (3 or 4 tables) probably account for quality of food, which was fair. Wine was just a little over price but service was good.
The staff were charming and very helpful. Very pleasant setting. Pool and gardens were lovely. Breakfast and restaurant excellent. Our room (#401, in one of the newer outbuildings) was a bit dark -- particularly the bathroom. The furniture (bed, sofa) could have been more comfortable.
The buidling and atmosphere and friendliness of staff - we also upgraded our room to one overlooking the old town which was much nicer than the "superior room" we had booked which was very dark and quite plain. Too close to a busy main road and dogs barking all night. Also the restaruant was not open in the evenings and there was no room service - there were also no clear directions on web site or actual signage on the road from Sienna so we drove past etc
Helpful staff, very pleasant location and surroundings, very good breakfast (excellent cappucinos!), good-sized room. Shower arrangement in the bathroom (a curtain creating three sides of the shower) is not ideal as it's impossible not to make the bathroom floor wet, but it's not a big problem. We thought dinner was OK but not special, even for the reasonable charge made.
a wonderful family run hotel in a lovely setting & beautiful grounds
It was much below expectations, and certainly not an 4 star hotel. A number of things were not functioning, and the staff was not even tryng to compensate it with friendliness. Dinner was also bad and overpriced. It is a pitty, because hotel is on very nice location, and it could represent great hub for Chianti visit. I would not go there again.
Friendly staff, great breakfast and convenient location for touring the area.
This charming hotel is situated in the beautiful hills of Tuscany with stunning views...There is an excellent restaurant attached to the hotel...
The superior room was rather ordinary, but the view was great. The food and related service was quite good, especially breakfast. I enjoyed the pool. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the villa was very lovely and historical. We were glad we stayed there and not in Florence. The dinner menu during the week was limited.
Beautiful villa ... clean room ... quiet Bed was really hard
We liked the personal service at the hotel, the history of the place and the beautiful surroundings. Location was also excellent for visits to neighbouring tourist attractions.
The restaurant had awesome food, but the waiters were horrible.
Stylish hotel, situated on a great location (between Sienna and Florence), within reasonable distance of the main worth visiting spots of Toscany and close to town that offers good transport facilities. The hotel is on top of a hill thus offering nice scenic views) and has very good facilities. Suite was spacious and comfortable with stylish and comfortable furniture and well equipped (minibar, safe, flat screen TV) that offered great views over the surrounding hills. Breakfast was nice and common areas (garden, pool, lounge, breakfast area) attractive. Staff could not have been more helpful. Overall convenience of location, amenities and staff efficiency it represented exactly what my family and I wanted in all respects. All in all, it could not have been more perfect for us. Nothing in particular
We found the hotel and the surrounding areas to be visited to be in a perfect location. The restaurant also had great quality food and a superb staff working with you at all times. We were taken care of with the utmost of sincerity from everyone. Truly enjoyed our experience at Hotel Villa San Lucchese. A little hard to find but the views from the hotel were worth finding this special place.
Room was adequate size, clean with modern, pleasant decore. Bathroom plumbing worked perfectly with no 'surprises'.
I think it's a good opportunity to stay in a place close to one of the most important historic town in the world. It's a quite good opportunity not only for a family but for a business travel too.
Super for visiting Tuscany very helpful about local transport lovely bathroom(s) good breakfast terrace Forgetting to tell us that the restaurant would be shut on Sunday!
The food was excellant although the restaurant was a bit like a canteen with bright lighting.
The accessibility from the Firenze-Sienna highway The first night one of the beds was broken, so they had to change the room. The 2 dinners we had at the hotel were so-so.
easy to find, very close to the highway very low quality breakfast
you have the car this place is the best at good value!
Very good hotel situated between Firenze and Siena from where you can make trips to the beautiful Chianti area, Moteriggioni and San Gimignano. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful with advices.
Location of the hotel, if you have a car and you want to visit Toscana, this is a perfect choice
Ease of access. Stores, restaurants nearby. Breakfast included. Free and easy parking. Hotel very rundown. Internet promised but none--absolutely none--available.
Very efficient stuff, fair restaurant. Unfortunately not a least one chair to sit on in the room. The rest is OK
Good capuccino. Authentic location. Tennis court. Great place to sit out, watch the world go by. breakfast a bit ordinary
This is our second stay at this hotel - it is an excellent, comfortable hotel ,very clean room, with everything in order in it. Excellent breakfast buffet. We loved the breakfasts and the garden area - very relaxing. The stay was made even more enjoyable and pleasant by the friendly and very helpful staff.Speciale thanks to Manuela and Soni.I'm sure this is the best valure-for-money hotel in that area.Definatley a place we will be returning to.It's so difficult to find the right hotel in that part of Tuscany and this is the best.Free wired internet made us feel that much more comfortable!!! Thank you again for a wonderful experience!!!!
A maid broke an expensive Murano Glass of mine and then replaces it with a soda glass. We didn't recieve an apology and the staff was very uncurtious. A maid broke an expensive Murano Glass of mine and then replaces it with a soda glass. We didn't recieve an apology or replacement and the staff was very uncurtious. The staff at the hotel were inconsiderate and completely unfriendly from the moment we arrived and until we left. The rooms are pretty but the are dirty, the bathroom stinks and the doors and windows are thin (so you hear everything). We have never complained about a hotel before but after have something valuable broken by the staff and being dealt with the way we were, I must say something. This hotel has no hospitality whatsoever!!!
Good choice for price and comfort. We were in Tuscany with a friends on a holiday for couple of days. For us the big advantage of the hotel is the location with parking place. We moved very easy each day to the nearest cities in Tuscany. Room very clean and comfortable. Nice and silent garden. Breakfast was extra paid but varied. Personel very nice and helpful. We recommend the hotel at this price to traveling people for some days in Tuscany.
Our stay at the Belvedere was comfortable and friendly. We loved all the staff and found them warm and welcoming. The meals in the Hotel restaurant were good and the croissants at breakfast some of the best I've ever tasted. The pool was refreshing!!! A bit cold for my taste but I still had several swims so it can't have been that bad! All in all a nice well run family hotel.
Extreme friendliness of proprietors, food in restaurant excellent, very good location for sightseeing in Tuscany. Hope to return. Rooms could benefit from a little refubishment.
the hotel is ideally situtated by the crystal factory, wine cantinia, and walled cities- nice setting and enjoyed the fresh spring thought the hotel resturant was a bit pricey for dinner. the breakfast was great. they must offer a great lunch since the parking lot was packed.
nice rooms, big bathroom with bathtub, great location to explore the toscana, secure parking
Convenience for multi days of sightseeing and two great restaurants on site. A very charming villa with lots of history and memorabilla. Staff was very helpful and professional. Room assigned needs to have the shower updated.
Ideal for staying in and enjoying the atmosphere in Lucca, in the heat of the old town and surounded by the shops and restaurants of the old city.
Glorious Tuscany views and off the beaten path. So relaxing. Never did figure out the heating controls so cool nights were very cool. Breakfast selections were few compared to other Italian overnight accomodations.
The location was very nice. A very quiet and picturesque place for relaxing. Parking also available. About 25km to Siena but also close to access Volterra, Firenze, San Gimignano and the Chianti area. They changed sheets and towels every three days unless you asked for daily changing (10 euros additional). Breakfast was rather poor while breakfast and dinner hours were short (1,5 hour for breakfast and 1 hour for dinner). We tried to have dinner one night and only for that night we had to have made special reservation earlier that day (not that this was mentioned anywhere). The staff's english was quite poor. If my wife didn't speak italian I am not sure if I could get around.
The hotel was in a nice countryside setting. The staff was not friendly or welcoming. It was a very uncomfortable stay because of the manners of the staff.
The view from our room was really beautiful and the furniture matched to the atmosphere of Tuscany. We also liked the cleanness of the room. However first it was really hard to find the hotel, we liked the location of the hotel, all the important cities were close and it was easy to reach them. Poor English knowledge of the staff, especially via phone, and the breakfast was a bit boring for 5 days.
Wonderful views of the Tuscan countryside, lovely pool and comfortable room. Ideal place to stay with a car to travel to explore local towns such as San Gimingnano.
Scenery, swiming pool, in the middle of vigniards Breakfast should be definately be improved
very nice place owner very accommodating breakfast lacks no eggs no coffee ( very bad)
Le Tre Perle is a B&B set very close to the old part of town. Our Italian/Australian hostess was friendly and provided a good breakfast, including real toast. She was knowledgable of the area and helpful. Parking was 100 meters away but no problem to drop bags off and then go and park. A good supermarket was close by. This would be a good town to base yourself to go to San Gimignano, Chianti and Siena. For off season she was a little more expensive than what we would expect.
Nice room, very very clean, warm welcome, everything you need for a perfect holiday! It is close to San Gimignano and Siena and the village itself is beautiful and calm. Free parking close to the house.
clean, comfortable room. friendly staff The surrounding area was a bit rundown
Quiet, cute little town in the Tuscany area.
I like how the whole hotel looks, buildings with surrounding. Very romantic place and very italian.
Great location in the beautiful Tuscan country side. The owners are nice and the restaurant on site is absolutely brilliant. The old borgo is fantastic for anyone with an interest in history. I wold recommend it to anyone.
Beautiful landscape, quiet, comfortable, friendly atmosphere. The hotel seems to be a former little vilage of Tuscany, which gives the perfect atmosphere for those wishing to experience a real Tuscany experience. We traveled with locals from Tuscany which all agreed that the hotel has a very authentic decoration of a tipical Villa Toscana. Definitaly recommended to enjoy the Tuscany country side. It was indeed quite difficult to find as there was not enough signs throughout the road. Shower had no curtains which made it quite difficult to enjoy a nice shower without wetting the whole bathroom.
the room had not any view of the hills and wifi internet wasnt there
quality of the welcome
The family running the place was extremely nice and friendly! We felt like very welcomed houseguests when arriving, and were really well taken care of during our entire stay at the place. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast superb -especially the homemade marmelade that was beyond words! We just had to buy some for home as well :) Location is a bit tricky, but luckily the friendly owners are willing to help you when you call them.
