Pros: We stayed for our first anniversary and rented the king jacuzzi suite, it was very clean and comfortable. The room was HUGE! Staff was extremely helpful when we checked in.
Cons: There was a hockey tournament going on while we were there and we were on the first floor, we could hear kids running upstairs like a herd of elephants pretty late into the night. The breakfast was pretty bland.
Pros: Room was spacious and very clean!

Cons: Not a tree star hotel!!! Very dusty, pool dirty a lot of chlorine add to the pool!!!
Pros: We stayed in two different rooms and both were clean and felt fresh. I also liked the convenience of a refrigerator and microwave in our room. The pool and hotub area were also clean and accessible. Staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks!!
Cons: Most rooms not connected to the main lobby, so you have to walk outside to get to breakfast.
Pros: very nice, clean, updated hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Beds are comfy. Room was smallish but not crowded, spotless, and even had a fridge & microwave. Even the breakfast was good.
Cons: I can't think of anything I didn't like about this fotel.
Pros: The girls at the desk were very kind and understanding. They provided information when asked. Great group.
Cons: The pool area had a really funky smell. Wanted to swim but didn't because of the smell.
Pros: last minute availability
Cons: walls are very, very thin!
Pros: Don't think, just Book this one in that area
Pros: Nice remodeled rooms. Good breakfast choices. Like the refridge and micro in the room. Staff exceptionally pleasant!
Cons: All the dead bugs by the doorwall and in the track. Fan in the room was very loud. Hard to fall asleep with it. Called to find out how to turn it off, no one called back when they said they would.
Cons: Front desk staff not friendly at all.
Pros: Staff are great. Other than that, it meets expectations every time.
Pros: Nice pool, good breakfast, friendly staff, rooms were freshly remodeled (rehab of entire hotel was in process).
Cons: Construction crew oflr hotel staff could have better signage about which entrances to use etc. I understand the work was very fluid, but prinitng a quick quick sign or two seems like a good 5 minuses action for improving customer experience.
Pros: Our room was recently renovated. Very nice!
Cons: The lobby was being renovated. Very messy. will be nice when it is complete.

Pros: Clean rooms, clean bathroom, fun stay!!
Cons: The sliding door was hard to open on the balcony.

Cons: The bed side lamp didn't work. Had to call the staff out of the back room. First try wasn't loud enough had to really raise my voice. Then the computer wasn't working so I had to wait for the computer to reset before finally getting a room.
Pros: Staff, room, etc
Pros: Location. Friendly staff.
Cons: Rate seemed higher than normal. I've stayed there several times during the last 10 years.
Pros: Clean. Big Rooms
Pros: I like just about everything about this hotel. Good location, nice staff, clean room. I love this place. I plan to stay there again.
Cons: No. I gave them 9's only because. You can always try to improve a little.
Pros: A good hotel and well worth the price
Pros: The staff was great. I will stay there again.
Pros: Location and staff friendliness.
Cons: I was charged twice and now have to try and straighten it out.
Pros: Everything was great.
Pros: Easy access, good coffee in room, could open window as I hate AC, staff friendly and helpful, no problems, car close to door, good location off expressway and near resturants.
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: Hotel was worn down. The halls smelled. The room was very small for a suite.

Pros: The place was exactly as the previous reviews, clean but very basic. We had no issues, best for $$. We would stay here again.
Cons: Could of used 2 more pillows & the bed was a little stiff. The shower was small but in all still a nice place.
Pros: Very clean...modern on inside..outside all brick..looks dated on outside...but very nice clean modern rooms..nice view of woods from room
Cons: Really nothing. Very nice staff. Still using metal keys..no key card... But other than that, would go back again
Pros: It was a nice stay. Had no problem with the check -in or out process. Easy to find, lots of businesses around to get food. Room was clean, tv had cable and it worked. Bathroom was clean. I would stay again. Restaurant had good chicken wraps.
Cons: Needed more places to sit, just 2 chairs and the bed. It was old, had a slight musty smell but opening the bathroom window and turning on the air helped. Bed was a tad hard but slept like a log. Coleslaw at the restaurant was not good .
Pros: The rooks are nothing fancy, just clean and comfortable. The des are only doubles, so it was a bit cramped for 2 adults, but they were comfortable. My daughter and her family of 3 stayed in a room with 2 beds, my husband and I stayed in a room with 1 bed. We were 15 minutes from downtown GR, at a fraction of the cost of the downtown hotels. My grandson loved the pool. However, the best thing about the Swan Inn is the brealfast. Great jomemade comfort food, at a great price. So if you just need a clean room, at an affordable rate, and don't care about extra amenities, in a safe neighborhood, I would recommend this place.
Cons: The size of the beds. Queens would be better.
Pros: The place was easy to find. Both my wife and myself had a very nice nights sleep with almost no external noise which is hard to find in a hotel these days. The amenities are basic but good. But since all we want is a good nights sleep and a shower, it works great for us. We plan on using this hotel as our base camp in future visits.
Cons: The room did not have a microwave oven, could have used that to heat my morning coffee but hot coffee was in the lobby just a few doors down :)
Pros: The location was central to activities we were doing in Grand Rapids and Rockford. It wasn't too noisy.
Cons: It had an awful smell, was outdated, no hairdryer and was overpriced for what you get.
When you stay at Swan Inn Motel, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Gerald R. Ford Museum and Public Museum of Grand Rapids. The seasonal outdoor pool is a great spot to take a dip, and guests can grab a bite to eat at Swann Inn, which serves American cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There's also a bar/lounge, and rooms offer room service and free WiFi.
Pros: The room was convenient and the hotel was peaceful. Outside surrounded by nature. Bob Evans resturant within walking distance very good food. Gas station and McDonalds too. Nice staff at the hotel. Slept very well. Good TV channels. Great coffee.
Cons: The pool ran out of bath towels. We did not ask for more. The breakfast bar had no juice. Decafe coffee empty until morning breakfast.
Cons: TV experience was terrible remote control hardly ever worked and a lot of the TV channels came in faded In-and-Out, or didn't come in at all
Pros: Beds and bathroom clean and comfortable. Air conditioner was quiet and smooth continuous-run, so it didn't click on and off all night. Thus it was a good nights sleep.
Cons: Was placed in handicapped room staff commented that since I booked online with a third party that is what I get. Then the tv channels were all messed up curtains do not shut all the way and to top it off I asked for a wake up call ......did not happen! I have been to this hotel at 4 previous stays
Perhaps I will find a different hotel

Pros: Easy to get too. Located close to major department stores , (Walmart & Meijer) and on the main road. Bed was very comfortable and room Had seating (couch) for us besides the desk chair.
Cons: Key stop working on the side door even after switching out key cards. Shower room to small, door has to be closed to sit on the toilet cause the TP is behind the door. Single person sink (counter wise). And most irritating thing of all.... I had to move the tv/fridge/microwave/dresser to flip the switch on the outlet surcharge box (recommended by front desk) cause my popcorn tripped it. 3times! Well popcorn burnt filling the room and eventually the hallway cause I opened the door (lmao) with the stench.
Oh and not to forget they had 1 elderly man working the breakfast area that could not keep up leaving people pissed. Poor guy!
I will probably go somewhere else next time!
Pros: The drywall in the bathroom was falling apart and the trim around the door was rotten from moisture. The TV was too small. This is 2017 and larger than a 32 inch would be nice. It was hard to watch! I know this hotel stays busy, therefore some maintenance should be done.
Pros: Great location
Cons: There was no fruit at the breakfast

Pros: Sheets smelt like bleach, and very clean for age of hotel. Second stay and I'll stay again
Pros: The distance to the boat launch was not bad and the a c worked good
Cons: The room seemed dated bedding was old and thin the sink drain did not work had to take the center plunger out to get it to drain and that was nasty and the carpet seemed very stained and dirty this room was not worth 175.00
Pros: Good-Clean Friendly and waffles and orange juice and good coffee
Pros: Service and cleanliness. Central to the areas attractions.
Pros: Great value for the money. Staff was courteous and helpful, the room served our needs perfectly. And 2 queens versus 2 full size beds is always a plus!
Cons: Breakfast buffet could use a little protein but otherwise fine.

Pros: half mile from where we needed to be. SPACIOUS ROOM!!
Pros: Good location and clean.
Cons: Very dated and a little creapy. The room had a strong peppermint like smell which made me wonder what smell was being covered up! Bed was comfortable but the pillows were tiny, like the size of decorator pillows and they went flat providing no support.
Pros: Location was perfect. It was decorated nicely. The pool and workout areas were nice. Breakfast had a good variety of choices. The beds were comfortable.
Cons: The front desk check-in person was not very friendly; however, the check-out person was. There were fingernails on the floor next to the bed (not very thorough vacuuming), although the rest of the room was very clean.
Pros: Location to the University.Room seemed to be clean. Staff friendly but seemed oblivious to the conditions surrounding them.
Cons: The first impression was it was filthy. The lobby furniture was dirty and tattered. Surprise the pool was closed. The computer was down so unable to print boarding pass. The elevator/hallway carpets were filthy. Employees gathered around smoking out front.
Pros: Proximity to Grand Valley State University
Cons: That the pool was closed and the 'exercise' room had really only one working machine.
Pros: Very clean, great breakfast, quiet
Cons: Pool was closed, bathroom was tiny and sink was in main room instead of bathroom
Pros: the clean rooms, the staff that were not the ones we had issue with, and breakfast.
Cons: they did not make us aware that the pool would be closed. they did not have refrigerators in every room. they gave away 3 of ours rooms and we had to consolidate ourselves and share rooms. two of our rooms had their key cards deactivated twice.
Pros: Clean, easy check in and out. Simple but good breakfast.
Cons: We could hear the people next to us like they were in our room. Just seemed strange to hear them that loud, like paper thin walls. That was annoying.
Pros: Good location close to our destination (Grand Valley State).
Cons: Stinky mulch. First room wasn't cleaned. Second room was. Stinky unclean carpets. Hair on my pillow. Pretty sure the bites on my ankles were not from mosquitoes (although didn't visibly see any bed bugs). Staff was friendly. Breakfast nothing special.
Pros: We have spent twice as much on rooms that were not as nice! It was a great place to stay and we will keep it in mind if over that way again and need a room :)
Cons: We prefer warm breakfast so we skipped that and went to a restaurant. It was as advertised though. That was just our personal preference
Pros: Room design
Pros: It was really easy to find.
Cons: The beds were really hard and uncomfortable.

Cons: Maintenance everywhere lacking. There were so many weeds outside and in parking area that i thought it was an abandoned property. No one manned the front desk for a few hours each day. Carpets terrible condition. Pool floor crumbling. Bag of trash on the
Cons: A little dated
Pros: Close to event . But the hotel was a little pricey
Pros: Good customer service and nice clean bed!
Cons: Choice Hotel needs to have a refrigerator with a freezer section
Pros: Quiet nice friendly great breakfast and has swimming pool
Pros: Good Breakfast and conveniently located.
Pros: price was good for the hotel. It was not in the area where we wanted to stay, but not the hotel's fault. We could not find a hotel available in Benton Harbor
Cons: No toilet paper in room or extra blankets.
Pros: Hot tub and pool were fine! Breakfast as usual with most hotel chains- powdered eggs, sausage links, waffle iron, an array of stale pastries, cereal. You know the deal. Coffee pretty good. Room was clean!!
Cons: Our room had wet carpet...yuck. Just a few spots, but weird. Overall pretty boring, basic, no frills kind of hotel.
Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The staff was not friendly and it wasn't easy to get to Grand Valley because of the construction. We will be coming to Grand Valley a lot and will be looking for another hotel. One we will want to be our regular hotel.
Pros: The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was good. Over all it was a good place to stay since we really just needed a place to sleep for one night.
Cons: This hotel was worn but clean. You can tell it is an older hotel with nothing special about the rooms or bathroom. The bathroom was pretty small so if you are a larger person it is a little tight.
Pros: Beautiful pool, friendly staff, good breakfast, grab bars in the bathroom, coffeemaker in room
Cons: Bathroom was very small

Pros: This is an older hotel. The decor and fixtures are dated. It is clean and spacious but we found the bed hard and the air conditioning was spotty.
Cons: We were not able to keep the air conditioning going on warm nights, and the room needs it.
Pros: Nice pool area.
Cons: Upon arrival we where assigned a room that had not been cleaned. Wen't back to front desk to get another room woman there didn't even say sorry. Other than that the stay was okay. They where giving baby swimming lessons in the pool same time everyone else was using it. Ya know babies pee in the pool.
Cons: Asked to cancel reserxvation the ffirst two hours someonebrented a few rooms for a bday party pool and hotel was full of the neighborhood the whole day most people did not even have a room neither kayack or hotel would let me cancel i explained to the clerk my concerns so she went to the poolnand told the party a man and his daughter complained and for them to clear off a table thus putting a target on our backs awful day do not reccomend
Cons: Old hotel needs to be freshened up. Could not get security latch to lock because door did not line up with jam. The breakfast is served in same room as pool and it was challenge trying to get breakfast with a bunch of kids running up wet from the pool. Also chlorine smell does not mix well with breakfast smells.
Pros: not much
Cons: it was noisy and dirty
Pros: I liked that it was close to Grand Rapids and the breakfast had a lot of options. It also had a nice indoor pool area, and the employees were very friendly and professional.
Cons: It has the potential to be a nice hotel, but it was clearly pretty run down. The alarm clock was sticky. One of the lamps didn't work. The walls were very thin - we could hear our neighbors cough. Also, the maid service decided to come at 9:00 at night to clean our room. Bizarre. I'm usually not too picky about hotels, but this one was pretty dingy.

Cons: This hotel needs some serious upgrades. The rooms have tubed tvs and the blankets were stained. The carpets looked clean but very worn. This is a decent hotel for the money you pay. I wouldn't pay more for the room we had.
Pros: The clean bed. And morning little bit of food.
Cons: Long hairs in the shower.
Pros: Location was a big selling point, since my sister's house in Jenison was easy to drive to, despite being an out-of-towner driving in that area for first time.
also handy to jump on/off I-196 right next to motel.
Cons: Only real negative was no microwave!
I've stayed in some cheap, run-down motels ... but they all had microwaves. In today's world, microwaves aren't an optional, luxury item -- they're a necessity!!
Pros: Close to the freeway. We got to rest.
Cons: About 1:15 AM some other guests got noisy and the manager had to tell them to quiet down. The room had kind of a musty smell.
Pros: Staff was very friendly and welcoming, Location to the mall is just about 10 mins away, Downtown Grand Rapids is about a 20 min drive. Quiet during the night. Bathroom clean.
Cons: The door lock kept sticking, The bathroom light would take a second to turn on. Carpet and walls need to be updated as well television. Some of the chairs had stains. Doors did not automatically close, but they did lock when shut.
Pros: Great value, comfortable beds.
Cons: The room had a bit of a stale smell to it
Cons: Hallways smelled like cigarette smoke.
