Value 5/5 Staff 5/5 Vehicle 1/5 The EV we rented was terrible. I see why it was so cheap to rent. The battery range was so inaccurate and terribly low. Maybe good for strictly city driving but we couldn’t even take a 2 hour road trip without having to make sure there was a charging station around because the battery was so bad. Really wouldn’t recommend the DS 3 Etense without a disclaimer.

Pro: The price was low and the people were great. Con: they need a much clearer set of directions to find the car pickup location in the nearby parking garage. I used the wrong door, and lost nearly an hour trying find my car. It drove even the employees crazy, since it wasnt where it should have been parked. This is temporary.

Wonderful ease of the rental. Great service and the car was so clean and better than expected. I got a small upgrade that was unexpected but very welcomed!

Pros:

The 'physical' aspects of the rental (car, cleanliness, price etc) were perfect.

Cons:

Beware if you're a woman, especially a foreigner. I booked a 5-door car and they tried to give me a 3-door: in the Copenhagen location the office is on the ground floor, and they send you to the basement parking alone to get your car. Once I realized they had given me a 3-door I went back up to ask for a change. The person serving me, Mr Ryan said 'no, you booked that category' 'we don't have any', when I pushed he said 'ok but you have to wait 30 minutes for us to clean a car' and then finally when I insisted and showed my booking on a my phone (of a 5-door car) they 'miraculously' had a 5-door car ready for me... When I returned the car 3 days later, they were doing the SAME to another foreign woman! Maybe they do this to everyone; either way, it left a sour taste in my mouth.

It's not Europcar's fault, but actually Kayak's; it's hard to set Kayak up to see rates for renters who live in Denmark (there is a very different fee for Danish-based renters as for non-Danish renters), so there was some confusion when we tried to pick up the car.

Cons:

Refund of deposit not flexible. I need to send an email to give information. Should have returned to my Union Pay automatically.

I was informed that because I reserved "via a broker" my extra insurance would not be recognized by Europcar. Luckily I had no incidents.

The drop off was tough as there is no sign from Oslo airport even by Google map I couldn't find it.

We bought full insurance coverage on the car. When we returned it, they found a small scratch on the bumper. We have received multiple emails from them to fill out an insurance form, threatening to cancel our coverage if we didn't return it. So we returned it. But they have sent it again. Unpleasant. Otherwise the rental was ok.

Cons:

We signed up for a deal through KAYAK that specified a certain price and that there is unlimited milage included. After the booking confirmation we got a call from Avis saying the deal is not possible and brought up different terms and conditions that we agreed on.

Pros:

Pick up was easy, given good advice on tolls, nice car.

Cons:

The Audi A4 nav system was a bit too complex and the engine shut off feature is annoying in traffic. The one problem was we were not provided proper paperwork such as insurance, so it was fortunate that the car did not impounded as Belgium is very strict on this.
