We were so happy, and enjoyed everything. Specially Hotel designs.
Great breakfast, helpful staff Sink in room not in bathroom) had no space for anything.
The room was beautifully furnished, and the bathroom luxurious. Food, breakfast and snacks at tea-time, was fantastic. The public rooms and the garden were relaxing. All the staff were friendly and could not have been more helpful.
it was clean, friendly, sevice offered were great, price on in room services were not bad, and the pub attached to hotel is great idea. the picture on the web site did not accuratley depicect the quality of the hotel. I was very, very pleasently suprised when i got there.
Very comfortable rooms and distance to the shopping centre. Thin walls in the hotel rooms.
Business at Vancouver Island Research Park, Life Labs and Royal Roads
The beds were very comfortable, staff very friendly and cooperative. The location to downtown Victoria, difficult to get to downtown (cab ride was $40 each way), or to take a city bus. No shuttle service.
Your restaurant staff for our breakfast and evening meals were great, parking was easy and the location was perfect. pillows are noy up to snuff should have at least two per person, no wtaer pressure on fourth floor, did not replace cream or water used in room.
Very clean rooms, close to stores, about 5 mins from casino, 20 mins from downtown Victoria, great pub and patio on lower level. Hd tv and flatscreens were nice too.
The stay was in a good location between the city and country at a reasonable price. On the third day of our four day stay the room was not cleaned. Even after reqesting the room to be cleaned as we went out for dinner it was not done when we returned. On day one of our stay we requested someone fix the room fridge. On day 3 after 3 requests it was finally fixed. Also the on demand movies were not working and we needed to get this taken off our bill. Seems like employees need training on responding to customer needs.
Nice room, excellent and friendly service, we were greeting with a big smile. I Have no complaint
too much noise from costo warehouse during day time.
Nice hotel about 15 minutes drive from downtown. New interior, good beds, plenty of parking space, good value for money. Better then the usual 3-star hotel. We stayed there for 2 nights (it is a good base point to visit Victoria and Sooke areas) Breakfast was not great
Would like to see a small swivel mirror on the side wall for easier makeup application. The sink counters are so deep that when a person removes their eyeglasses it is almost impossible to get a good view without pulling some back muscles :0
the location, we travel to Sidney quite often, and it's nice to have a clean hotel to stay at that is close to everything. Some of the others we've stayed at need to renovate for the rates they charge. loved it all
Pleasant if simple rooms, most in a courtyard-ish setting with limited views out to the Salish Sea. Very quiet at night. This is far from a destination hotel - it's a handful of rooms in a luxe condo building with a couple of busy venues popular with the locals. Can do much better for the money elsewhere in the Victoria area.
We had one of the signature suites for a girls weekend and it was awesome to have so much room and 2 full baths was definitely a plus.
Ideal vicinity, plenty to do,friendly and helpful staff, quiet rooms Nothing
Awesome restaurant Aura in the hotel.
5 min walk to centre 'Stuffy'.resturant and bar staff, all others excellent! Not a family hotel.Lack of resonably priced meals evidenced by the small number of dinners v occupantcy.Suggest eating out for variation.Swimming pool closed for two days and harbour 'view' we paid for, was peeking through large trees from 2nd floor!!
The restaurant was wonderful. The food was so innovative and delicious. The staff was very friendly and offered every opportunity to help. I would definitely stay at this place the next time I'm in Victoria. I really appreciated the fact that it was actually further away from all of the other hotels because it was quiet and peaceful.
Room overlooked inner harbor. Very clean with very helpful staff. Restaraunt menu did not have enough basic food choices, no chicken for my wife but I did enjoy my sable fish..The room was missing a selection of glassware as only had 2 glasses for all purposes, also did not have a makeup mirror which my wife prefers. All in shall s nice spit to stay . We will return.
Clean room, not far walking distance from downtown Heater did not work all too well, room couldn't get warm enough.
Beautifully designed room, well-equipped facilities, and friendly, helpful staff. Would like towel hooks in bathroom
Location - ideal as we arrived in Victoria from Seattle by the Victoria Clipper
The location was amazing and the staff at the front desk and front door were extremely helpful and friendly. We were here for the Goodlife Fitness marathon.
Harj at the Front Desk was a highlight of information & service
the location is great. room are quiet for resting. I booked a ocean view room and end up a roof top view with very angle ocean view. The bell man help us get to the room, he also said it doesn't look like a ocean view room at all. Beside, the room very dated and furniture, carpet are all smell. So, I decide to upgrade to a newer building and paid extra $50 just for one night. Very disappointed the front desk lady keep emphasized that is a ocean view room!!
Great to be on the waterfront and on the path around the harbour. Parking somewhat pricey, but secure....
Big, comfortable, well equipped room, value for money, pool hours (open late) No hot tub, bathroom a bit dated
The couteousness and genuine friendliness of all of the hotel staff was commedable. The breakfast that was included was fantastic and very efficiently served. The valet service was excellent.
Hotel Staff was very polite and professional. Location could not be better. Rooms are big and very comfortable. During breakfast, should be more waiters looking at the food that is missing.
The apples were delicious and the Aveda products were a real treat.. I did not like the smell of the room initially. It smelled as though it needed to be aired out.
I liked how polite the staff were, and I was very impressed with my room. I wish I had known I would have been charged for the Global that was put in our room, tho the price was appropriate.
i love the peaceful feel to the hotel. Each room I have stayed in was very quiet and extremely comfortable. The beds and linens are wonderful. All my needs are met within the room.
Enjoyed the food and ambiance at prime. The staff at hotel have gone way beyond expectations in making every stay fabulous. Would like a pool. Roof top bar and city transporting options(bike, hotel car)
The room is spacious and furnishings in the room are quality. The distance from the hotel to the bus terminal only 3 minutes for walk. The hotel is quiet, good room service....
Small hotel with professional, friendly and helpful staff. The location is walking distance from most places in Victoria. To demonstrate how well we liked the hotel, the only thing that we remember is that they forgot to put bathropes in our room.
The room was comfortable The breakfast room is cramped and it's size does not relate to the number of guests it must accommodate. Some guests had to take their breakfast up to their rooms as there were no seats available.
Good hotel, nice location, excellent service and rooms, great beds. The tea maker in the room was not used much I guess and it had a rusty element, it was impossible making tea without rust in it.
Great suite rooms, very clean, had everything we needed.
Staff was friendly and helpful. slow internet
Breakfast - not directly Hotel, but associated - only a "Pancake House", not offering much choice
Ideal location Lack of dining facilities
The staff made us feel welcome...very friendly! Nothing
In the same street as relatives we were visiting. Friendly chamber maids.
pleasant helpful staff, great location, clean rooms no
Friendliness and help from very proffesional staff Had no reastaurant for dinner.
Awesome location and value Small room, bed was a little too hard, no breakfast/room service but there is/was a restaurant down stairs
The location was great as were the staff. The beds were a little too hard and the building was showing signs of wear.
I enjoyed being close to the inner harbour. While the room needed a few minor repairs, the staff were very accommodating and pleasant. It was great value for the price. I would definitely stay there again
The location. I liked everything
The french staff was really nice, the room well cleaned and since we had a discount, we were very happy of the quality.
Very good location, staff very nice. We found the bed hard and uncomfortable
Very nice, all staff was friendly and helpful.
We booked a Fairmont Gold room based on another recommendation and boy was it worth it. The private lounge is spectacular, the concierges were all extraordinary (and made a big difference helping us maximize our 2 nights in Victoria) and the food and drink (including a fully-stocked honor bar) were fabulous. We felt like royalty.
This historic property welcomes you in the moment you step onto the property. The immediate attendance to your every need is immediately relaxing and makes you feel wanted. The location could not be better with the entire harbor visible form the front and every floor above as you exit your elevator. The entire city downtown is vibrant and easily walkable with something for every tase and experience.t The room was a bit warm and may not have had air conditioning. We simply opened the windows and used a portable fan form the oversized closet area.
The rooms are really beautiful. The facility is under complete renovation. It wasn't as grand as you'd expect. Although the rooms are super nice, I think for the price there are a million better deals to be had. It's slightly over hyped in my opinion.
Location, location, location The room we got was ridiciuosly old, we had to wait two hours for a normal room which indeed was a good surprise. Staff was not always attentive and responding in a timely manner. Generally, we were expecting more from a Fairmont hotel...
Very nice room, very friendly people!!
Not one dining room open that children were aloud to eat! Overly expensive for what you get! $50.00 for a pot of tea!!!! Crazy. I guess they have the location that's about it!
High Tea at the Empress, the concierge was very helpful helping me book Helijet and bus service into and out of Victoria.
We loved it!
Had an awesome time at the Empress for our 20th Anniversary. The people everywhere were super helpful and friendly. The location was excellent and within walking distance to so many fun things. The afternoon tea was enjoyable but definely over priced.
Breakfast was fantastic.
Staff was great and very helpful suggesting restaurants and activities. We were able to arrange A late checkout and keep our car parked. The location was excellent and there are a lot of nearby restaurants. We had a great time. Facilities are undergoing a major remodel. A bit noisy in the morning since they start early
Bad wireless Internet - the only negative
The rooms where nice, clean, bright... Bed was very comfortable ... Staff where helpful. The restrant food left you dissatisfied , tast was okay but not up too it's reputation ...
Great location Internet was slow and difficult to use from mobile device
Staff were excellent location was excellent Curtains were torn
Everything. Location was great facing the inner harbor. The staff was superb!! Food was excellent!! Look forward to staying there again! No, absolutely everything was excellent!!
Extremely attractive hotel with perfect location by the waterfront. Easy walking distance all over town. We enjoyed our room overlooking the harbor. Gracious, helpful staff. We were happy with the Courtyard Cafe, which provided good sandwiches, coffee, and dessert for low-key suppers. Island Time Tours, booking right there in the Grand Pacific, took us to Butchart Gardens and picked us up again at our requested time. What a very nice arrangement. When it was time to leave Victoria, we chose the Victoria Airport YYJ Shuttle as more economical than a taxi. The Shuttle arrived at the front door and delivered us to the airport comfortably and in good time. We were happy in every way with our four nights at the Grand Pacific and would gladly stay there again.
Location is great! The hotel is old, outdated and in desperate need of a facelift. You are definitely paying for location.
I loved the location--- within walking distance to downtown, Victoria. Nothing
The room was beautiful and the beds excellent. Enjoyed our stay. Location was excellent for walking.
super close to everything tourists do
The room was well appointed, had a nice view and the pool and hotub were excellent.
It was a very pleasant experience. The staff very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded upon arrival to a lovely king suite which was a lovely bonus. The room was very spacious and comfortable with a full kitchen. We stay in Victoria a few times a year and will now be staying at the Royal Scott. Also this hotel is very quiet. Something you don't always find staying downtown Victoria.
THE clean and comfortable rooms and the friendly staff
Fantastic location. Next to where you want to be but on a lovely leafy quiet street (one road back from the water front) The hotel is older but has large rooms and is very comfortable.
We liked the location and that it was quiet. We also liked that there was a full kitchen.
The location of the hotel is excellant, close to the inner harbour, restaurants and beaches. House keeping was not good. Used drinking glasses were n9ot replaced or cleaned. Coffee & supplies were no upkept. At check in we did not feel welcome, although he was not rude.
Great location. Great staff.
Good access to hotel and rooms and parking. Pleasant staff. Recommend an upgrade new bed mattress
Convenience of shuttle and friendly staff.
Clean, quiet and convenient. Great hotel for the price
friendly staff and offer us assistance all the time, courtesy vehicle to go around the downtown bed is not too comfortable
The food was good, we only had lunch once but breakfast most mornings. The staff and kitchen staff were very pleasant. The curteousy car was a pleasant surprise and nice to have available both to pick you up and also to take you places. It is very close to the harbor and the ferry coming from Port Angles.
Just a short walk from Parliament, harbor, and all the fun of Victoria. Found several nice markets nearby as well. Clean apartment-type room. Very clean with a great little kitchenette! Quaint, cute, charming, nice parking.
Clean, great location, great value. Furnishings were dated,
Super friendly staff, and the were very customer oriented. Room was very clean and perfect for a young couple. Bathroom could be updated
Not much No air conditioning, view of the tar paper rooftop
Dog friendly and large-family friendly Odd that in a 2 bed suite only 1 bath/shower and that it is in the en-suite. Bathrooms also very small.
The only negative for me, was the bottom sheets were not large enough. They would come untucked and you were left swimming around in a loose sheet.
Great room. Convienent location. Great restuarant with a great breakfast bar. I had to leave!
Location Very noisy untill 4 am----friend booked a much nicer room for a much cheaper rate.
Paid for ocean view which I assumed was Harbour view since it was extra and not the ocean 10 miles away.
Fabulous breakfast, location very convenient for walking around downtown area and to Fisherman's wharf and Beacon Hill Park, would definitely come back for a family getaway!
Hotel old, but in good condition. Very dark in public areas. Lighting in elevator
Clean, quiet room. Comfortable beds. Hot breakfast included! Bathroom needing new tiles but otherwise very clean.
Room was clean staff extremely friendly. Restraunt was nice on site good food and good price No
Great breakfast, location and staff!
Clean, charming, historical feel, pub staff excellent, cute dog, great beds and pillows, quiet. Loved it! No fridge.

location near Victoria airport Room had loud nighttime road traffic noise since it was very close to road. Far end of hotel may have been better

Close to the main road. Easy to get around. Room has only one queen bed. Not enough for family with kids.
The hotel had a cold beer and wine store, pub and restaurant next door. It's also close to the ferry terminal. The hotel is old and scary. It had a funky smell maybe because it's located close to an RV park. It's also far from dwtn Victoria.
Great staff and pub. Good location close to the airport and a short drive into Victoria. Spacious rooms. A few minor housekeeping issues on arrival (bath towels and soap missing) and TV signal not available.

Beautiful hotel close to the harbor We did not have a view from our room, and as our room was at the same level as the adjoining rooftop the seagulls woke me at dawn.
Great place! Our 3-night stay was the highlight of our 9-night trip. The room was upbeat yet homey and comfortable. Loved the full kitchen and the balcony. the front desk went out of his way to provide us with a wonderful experience. Thanks
Great location, just no air No air conditioning
Everything was great Checkin time isn't very flexible but it wasn't a big deal
Location That I was not informed by anyone that there would be a large parking fee per night until I was checking out and was given the bill.
Very friendly staff and wooing distance to downtown and restaurants. The furniture was looking worn. Not what I would expect for the star level. And we forgot something in the closet. When we called it had been over 24 hrs and the item was still hanging in the closet of the room. Housekeeping hadn't found it.

It had a kitchen in the room. There was an event at the bar so we couldn't use it. They also were not able to provide us with 2 queen size beds, so someone got the pullout couch.

The hotel was close to everything including friends that live in Victoria. Everything was a short walk. The only vending machine was out of service.
Cleanliness, helpfulness of staff; full breakfast
When you advertise a "pool" it should be warm enough to swim in! My 12 and 9 year old granddaughters could not even enjoy it, way to cold, and out selection was based on the indoor pool
Staff were great and helpful, location was good for downtown access. Pretty good value for peak time in July. I was adjacent to the Main Street and it was much quieter than I expected. WiFi was in and out. Stairs were difficult to find.
Staff was great. Hotel was great. Location was excellent.
Very clean. Good location.
cheap price, free tea in the morning, good staff at front desk pool wasn't very clean, and sauna was out of order
Clean, central and close to downtown areas as well as tourist areas. This is the second time I've stayed here and it also has a decent garage. There is a "fitness" facility but it is the size of a closet and the "pool" is big enough to fit a couple kids. Right on Blanshard so close to traffic and noise. The other hotel guests were rude, loud and obnoxious. Was difficult trying to get a good nights rest.
Its proximity to most scenic place in town. no
Front desk staff were helpful. Beds were comfortable.
That I was able to use my debit card to pay for my accomodation on checkout
Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable beds, great location, nice restaurant, warm pool. When booking a room I received a very difficult person on the phone. I expected the same upon arrival but received a very warm reception. The room next to the elevator was not ideal, however I wouldn't expect that at any hotel. Next time I stay I will request. The furthest rom for the elevator.
We enjoyed the situation, the food and the spa. It was an excellent hotel to stay in to unwind after our journey fron Europe.
Overlooking beautiful Brentwood bay. Breath taking to say the least. The staff will point you to the many quite tranquill boating docks and view around the area. Close to butchard gardens which is a must in BC. Friendly, helpful staff which really makes the trip a joy. Restful place which I would highly recommend. This place deserves every award they have been given! 10/10 nothing to dislike which I rearly say about any hotel.
I like the open outdoor halls, the smells of the west coast trees and ocean, good view, staff are friendly and helpful. Felt like there was a plastic sheet under the bed linens and was quite hot. Felt like the bed didn't breath.
The staff was exceptionally courteous and knew my name prior to my arrival. Meaning they were expecting me when I checked in. The room was very clean upon our arrival and they would service our room whenever we happened to leave the room. Turn down service was completed every day as well. I also enjoyed the lack of children present at the lodge! Free calling included in the hotel rate for anywhere in North America was nice as well. We did not dine at the hotel restaurant, but the pub served a phenomenal seafood chowder and the room service breakfast that we enjoyed on our patio was simply exquisite. We had a little trouble finding Brentwood Bay Lodge and Spa initially. The directions from the ferry to the lodge could have been a bit better; but the this did not dampen the joy of our honeymoon in the least!
