Stayed here as a halfway point between NC and Miami, FL. It's not new or fancy, but it is clean and convenient. Decent continental breakfast.
Three times I went to the front desk and there was nobody there. Once I waited, along with another customer for almost five minutes. Each time, the front desk person was outside taking a smoke break and came in saying, 'sorry, I didn't see you'.
I decided to stay here based on the previous review, but I won't sugarcoat my review. The beds were MISERABLE. My back hurt for 2 days after sleeping on it. The grossest thing was the bathroom. The toilet was beyond nasty with stains. I made my husband and son shower standing on a towel because the tub was so stained. I made sure the sheets were clean - which they APPEARED to be - but I recommend you stay some place else. Ice container had a dead bug under it and was wet, like they didn't even clean it. Even for one night, don't stay!!!!
I recently stayed at this hotel. The staff treated me as though I was a long lost friend from the beginning. Since I was staying 4 days, this made me feel at home immediately. My husband and I asked front desk clerk for a dinner recommendation and she sent us to the best little steak and seafood restaurant. While the hotel is a little older, the room (esp. the bathroom) was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. It was the best sleep I had on our vacation. I would definitely stay here again!
Very convenient...friendly, helpful staff
Room was clean and so was the Lobby.
Very nice and clean room. Great value! It took 7 minutes to get the room key, even though I was the only guest in the reception. I tried to do an early check in at noon. Sam, the manager, said no rooms were available that early. I was offered to come back at 1 pm or pay $20 for an early check in. I chose to come back at 1 to save my money, but I was clearly in a hurry. As I came back at 1 pm, I was made to wait while Sam was handling papers. This felt unnecessary and stressed me out since I was still the only guest in the reception and we had spoken an hour before.
Running toilet No smoke detector Bathroom to small Tub NTG
staff was very helpfull
Very clean and comfortable room at an incredible price.
The hotel is close to i95 and the staff was friendly The hotel is older and in new of mantanance. It's obvious they are not putting any money back into repairs and maintenance. Ripped up massage chair in lobby. Big holes in the carpet in the hall way, the sheets where worn so thin in places you could see threw them. A little musty in the room. Says King bed but I think they are queens.
I was greeted by Malcolm who was in maintenance and was very friendly and helpful. At the front desk I met Jamie who was also helpful and helped me with local restaurants. Her advice was spot on! At the front desk Sam was also always very helpful with the social hour breakfast and evening snack which was nachos! You even get a free cookie and free lemonade is available 24/7! The entire hotel as well as grounds for well-kept and look to be quite new. The room was clean and spacious with a refrigerator, cooktop and kitchen sink. All amenities worked well including the laundry which was on the second floor with my room. Housekeeping was fast, did a great job and were friendly too. I have traveled across the country staying in many affordable hotels on this trip, and this is been the best experience and nicest hotel for the best price yet! Have zero fears about checking into this hotel you won't be disappointed. Thank you Days Inn Darien for a wonderful stay! The driveway was a little hard to navigate between the 2 neighboring hotels. Not a big deal.
Food at the Echo restaurant was also very good. Great value overall.
nice updates on 1st floor, lighter, much more pleasant. Love fire pit on deck. Helpful, friendly staff. Lovely quaint and large bedroom. Really miss having USB access in room...difficult to access in limited business area.
Pools very nice. A nice little bar/restaurant area 1 block away if you want to get a bite to eat. Beautiful beach. The bathroom was not up to far also stepped into tub/shower and it was very slippery and fell on my butt. Paid for a beach front room and it was more like a beach front room behing the trees. Also front desk staff was a little unfriendly.
Room was advertised as "partial ocean view" but that was not really accurate. Disappointing, as the selection of the type of room was a big part of the stay and the plan was to at least have a partial view.
Let's be blunt. IT SMELLS OF CAT URINE! The air conditioners leak onto the carpet over and over causieng an oder. I guess this motel would be decent if you had NO other options yet this sin't teh case, there are many other choices in the immediate area and throughout nearby Brunswick. Hate to say it, but I don't reccommend.
Friendly staff. Ideal location just off the interstate near great fishing.
My daughter and I come here every Fall and go crabbing at Harris Neck.
pleasant, clean and all good
Distance to the court house Had roaches. Made sure my kids shook their clothes and bags out before they got in the car. Would of left but checked in really late and couldn't find another hotel
it was quit clean and pool was nice bee in the palm trees by the pool
The staff was very nice helpful and courteous The room smelled like mold and wet dog.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Village Inn and Pub. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms upscale and clean, the hospitality wonderful and the overall picture absolutely the best!! ( RB the bartender is so charming and hospitable to all.) I would give it a resounding 5 stars!!!
Very charming place. Right across the street from restaurants and very short walk to the water.
The location is perfect. The Pub was much fun. The second day we were there, we came back from town around 1:00 PM and our room was still not cleaned. We had to run down the Maid and request she do our room next. Also, when AC was running, esp. in other rooms, it was very noisy.
The room was clean and the staff was nice. Only a short walk to food and shopping. Overall we had a pleasant stay. The Tv was small and the sound was bad. Had to turn it all the way up to be able to hear it. And the Danish for breakfast was a bit stale and the coffee was just Luke warm.
It was very nice and relatively inexpensive. Very impressed for what we paid. It was quiet, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was, surprisingly, pretty good.
Breakfast was good; beds were very comfortable. Location is walking distance to Starbucks and several restaurants. I didn't realize how far from the beach this location was. Also, I disliked that the day before check-in, I got an email asking when I would like to check in and I selected noon and we planned accordingly. Not much before noon, I got a text saying the hotel was full and we could not check in until after 3 which is a bit problematic when traveling with 4 kids.
Hispanic desk clerk was not very friendly
Close to interstate. Rude staff would not honor my reservation. Sold my room out from under me while I was trying to straighten it out. Told me to "go raise hell with the corporate office," Stuck in nowhere with 2 young children at 11 PM with a few number on my phone. Inexcusable
