9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very good. Friendly. Sam and Luis and other staff makes you feel at home!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the level of privacy and easy parking. The spa tub in the Valencia suite was nice too! It almost felt like a small air bnb rented home. Prime location for Capitola
Cons: The staff made the check in process a little overwhelming Cleanliness was decent but not to my standards.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is such a unique hotel! The staff was extremely helpful and made us feel like we were the most important people there. It is extremely close to the beach and it wasn't a hard walk, not even for this 30 week pregnant person.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff went above and beyond to make our stay an excellent experience. This Inn is beautiful and worth every penny! If I am ever back in this area again, I will be staying here!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing. The staff were kind and accommodating! The location was perfect for walking to downtown. The room was beautiful and so comfortable!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that. Basically just slept there, so didn’t get to take full advantage of everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: How beautiful the property is. You can request breakfast to be delivered to your room. There is an appetizer and wine time which is so nice and also cookies and fruit upon your arrival. There is an outside sitting area that is so quite and pretty. They also have a time for chocolate truffles and port wine just before you retire for the evening. The problem, if you can call it a problem, is that you don't want to leave. The innkeeper was so nice and showed us other vacant rooms so we could get an idea if we wanted to try a different room next time. The management was also helpful the day we left and wanted to make certain we were happy with our stay and if there was something we thought would even make our stay better.
Cons: I personally didn't care the the breakfast menu this time. The menu changes each morning. There is always plenty of food however.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were beautiful & roomy, private patio and private hot tub.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and very friendly staff
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, wine, cheese, and snacks in the afternoon, sunny patio with fountain, fireplaces in all the rooms, including the lobby, and the most wonderful staff!!!
Cons: Everything was done so well we wouldn't change anything!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was accommodating for our special needs and desires. The staff was very helpful and warm with their assistance to our needs.
Cons: Nothing at this time, we loved the total experience.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was a wonderful experience. The staff (Keaton & Luis) were very helpful, attentive to our needs, and courteous. They went out of their way to assure our trip was pleasant and enjoyable. Close walk to downtown beach was nice. Beautiful architecture and details were really appreciated as well as the good service.
Cons: Overall was a great experience. One thing that was a little deferred maintenance on the building. Some of the gutters at front were detached and starting to fall off. Some of the tiles in the bathroom did have some damage (cracks), although not really a safety issue. However, the overall architectural detail was a wonderful treat!

Pros: Brita could not have been more hospitable, friendly or helpful and she was about to end her shift. Can't hardly say enough positive about this property. We have stayed at the Villa Rosa in Santa Barbara and love both places.
Cons: Gained 5 lbs. from the snacks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the old 1800 feel of the place. Breakfast was amazing and the location was perfect. Right by the pier.
Cons: Since we were by the breakfast room, it was a little loud in the morning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, tasteful clean rooms and interior. Very friendly and helpful staff, who even kept the welcome aperitif out a little longer for us since we were arriving late! Delicious breakfast with lots of home cooked options.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, super clean and friendly
Cons: View was a little less than expected from our room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautiful and well maintained. We had a King Deluxe with ocean view. It was small but beautiful. The only caveat was our view window, which had a community deck directly outside, did not have any privacy drapes. Apparently new drapes were ordered but arrived in the wrong size. The staff was very creative and accommodating to fix the situation to make our stay super comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the afternoon wine and hor d'oeuvres were excellent..
Cons: Parking was tight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully restored 1877 mansion that now serves as a B&B. The location is excellent right across the Santa Cruz beach and easy walking distance to the Board Walk.
Cons: I wish I had found better restaurants nearby. We ate at restaurants on the pier, I was not impressed. I also found the Boardwalk dirty. Not a place I was comfortable taking our 8-year-old grandson. It's not Disney!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They provided baked dishes for breakfast along with the normal breakfast fare plus afternoon treats which were delicious. A lovely little place to stay.
Cons: Air conditioning

Pros: The property is gorgeous. Very romantic place to stay. Breakfast was great. Bed is very comfortable. I didnt here my neighbor through the walls.
Cons: I would have preferred a regular door on the entrance to the bathroom rather than the slide one. That is it though!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a cute place, I felt comfortable right away. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They go out of their way to make your stay memorable- fresh yummy cookies in the afternoon, famous saltwater taffy from the Boardwalk in your room, a nice variety of breakfast items to start the day and great Santa Cruz coffee. Our room was #9 on the first floor with large bathroom and king bedroom with a fireplace. We loved hearing the sounds of the crashing waves from bed. The next morning, as you open the door you are greeted with the magnificent view of the ocean and the Boardwalk. Does not get any better than this!
Cons: Nothing to speak of!

Cons: The fireplace in our room was lovely but it wouldn’t go on for us then when the staff got it going it would not turn off.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Breakfast very good but Potatoes were so so
5.5 Okay
Pros: Can’t beat the location.
Cons: For the extradinary cost, the hospitality was severely lacking! I did not get the type of room I booked. The one I did get was dirty- (toenail clippings by bed, pubic hair in tub, dirty sheets) and had broken blinds and toilet. Any attempt to get assistance was in vain. I was told that “this is a highly desired property so there was nothing they could do.” Really... no longer desired by my group!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very nice (my check-in was swift). The breakfast is considerate of people with dietary restrictions (but if you're vegetarian, gluten-free - keep in mind that it's mainly processed foods). There will be soy milk around, and if you're gluten-free - they have Udi's toast bread and muffins in the back. But the rooms are comfortable. I had a cricket in my bathroom but other than that - the wifi was fast.
Cons: Cricket in my bathroom.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is on a busy street and yet it was very quiet in the room. It was super comfortable!! We loved that there was a hot breakfast!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was perfect for us. More food then we could eat - finished it for lunch. It was the perfect location for us. We walked to town, reminisced at the Boardwalk, visited other familiar places. The old taxi recommended, as a highlight to our anniversary dinner at the Shaddowbrook completed a wonderful time.
Cons: Hard to get in and out of a tub when used as a shower, but that is a minor inconvenience.
5.0 Okay

Cons: The place was outdated. Not worth the price. Too small & the walls were super thin. Can’t relax when you feel so open.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was large and spotless! The bed was comfy! The breakfast was perfect! And the staff were friendly and helpful!
Cons: More water pressure for the shower. And it does get a little noisy from the traffic outside. The walls could be a little thicker as we could hear our neighbor snoring in the middle of the night.

Pros: It was such a cozy large room. Walk in closet, many mirrors, comfy bathrobes. Completely homey...the outside doesn’t do it justice ~ we were all pleasantly surprised when we walked in the room. I also love that it’s such a small place ~ easy and quick to get in and out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Bella Notte was wonderful and easily the best place we stayed at throughout our holiday. The room was beautiful, décor was lovely and the beds were fabulously comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and spotlessly clean. We were given a lovely greeting by the host, check-in (and check out) was a doddle. The property was really well looked after and the provision of a continental breakfast was nice and more than ample to start the day off. Free parking was also a welcome change from the chain hotels that charge you a small fortune to park. Well located with a handful of really nice restaurants and shops nearby and less than 5-10 mins drive from the sights at Santa Cruz ($6-8 dollars in a cab). Would definitely recommend this hotel - a lovely, friendly place to stay.
Cons: Nothing

Cons: A bit pricey.

Pros: Everything! No complaints at all. Great experience
Cons: No dislikes at all
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and staff.
Cons: Empire room bath very small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was lovely--more than we expected. Everything was fresh and served elegantly. Adriana, the innkeeper, is one of the sweetest innkeepers we've encountered. So interesting, charming, knowledgeable about the history of the inn and the area dating from the original owners in the 1800's. She's an artist and her home is filled with original art of all kinds. We'll go again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cliff Crest Inn was beautiful, the location was great and the owners were lovely and very accommodating. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and best friend stayed the weekend and really enjoyed the owner and the overall experience
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely spectacular host/staff!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The lady who owns this place is very welcoming and nice and really made sure everything was great for us. Also her cooking is fantastic.
6.3 Good
Pros: Pleasant? No. But ok at off season prices. Nice environment and people. Interestingly decorated but you have to like it, good food, limited menu, but adaquate and good quality, custom made. Old victorian home cut up in strange ways into rooms. Very clean, nice people and this was important. But cramped space, no place to sit except on the bed was a surprise, tiny tv, free DVD's in hallway but no player in the room.
Cons: Small Room, had no chairs, no closet, no tissue, no soap. Small TV, was not plugged in, and had to call for help. Cramped space, no place to sit except on the bed was a surprise. Main thing, this was an expensive place for one night and simply not worth it except during a busy June weekend. This small room would have bought us a nice condo in Maui for two nights. But cramped space, no place to sit except on the bed was a surprise, tiny tv, free DVD's in hallway but no player in the room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were wonderful! I really enjoyed my stay and getting to know them and the history of the home. I was running in the Surfer's Path race that morning and came to breakfast very late. They made me a warm breakfast and amazing coffee. It was wonderful.
Cons: This room is by the front door. If you are a light sleeper, this may not be the best choice. It is a lovely room with lots of light so there is a plus side to staying in it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and friendly staff
Cons: Maybe cheaper

Pros: It was modern and clean. Breakfast was nice and healthy. Yogurt, fruit, toasted croissants and pastries. It was quiet and private. Very welcoming and a good stay for families. It was a short walk from the boardwalk and a good place
Cons: The rooms are basically studios. They lacked a safe and a fridge which are pretty standard in most hotels. I would have liked to store some milk for our two year old. I wasn’t a huge fan of the parking being off site. It didn’t feel like a safe lot.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful accommodations and friendly, helpful, attentive staff. I just wish we could have stayed longer.
Cons: It was all good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location, once one entered, was private, serene and quiet (if no basketball game in large arena close to Inn). The rooms were comfortable, bathrooms nice, little outside tables good touch, outside area with fire pit nice. Location close to beach, boardwalk and downtown area. plenty of restaurants close by. Fresh fruit and cereal available in lobby in a.m. Would stay there again.
Cons: Seemed right on edge of an area that felt a little iffy at night. People sleeping in doorways and on the street. Parking not right a hotel...not comfortable leaving anything in my car although no issues as it turned out. Was not comfortable going to my car at night. Desk chair far to low to be able to sit at desk. Wish for hot water maker in room (had coffee etc. available for several hours in lobby) but couldn't make in room. Also would have really liked small frig in room, as wanted to keep food in room for evening rather than go out. Water in shower not as hot as would have liked. BUT would stay there again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable bed/room. 10 min walk to beach.
Cons: Only window over looks inner walkway and patio; some noise from other guests going by and property across from hotel.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Set a few blocks back from the beach this is a great location and a clean, comfortable stay. Parking is free and just down the street, very easy. Our room was a great size with a good size, comfortable bed. Fresh baked banana bread was available on arrival along with cold water and hot drinks. The courtyard is a lovely place to sit and the breakfast is just enough to get you through the morning.
Cons: Nothing bad to say

Pros: Love the peace and beauty the spacious deck of our cabin and the feel of old school comfort and family friendly fun from the ping pong table, games and books for use, the tether ball, volley ball, fire pit and horse shoes. As well as the quiet and even more incredible was the sound of the river and Prvate access to creek. Such a perfect place to get away and just relax. Pros: Right amongst the Redwoods
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds were beautiful.
Cons: It was neccesary for me to change my reservation into June but the price would have increased $100. More even though I had stayed there before. They do not provide coffee or tea.

Pros: We loved the location, the staff was wonderful and the cabin was beautiful.
7.0 Good
Pros: It has a nice little river that runs through it that should be good for young kids

Pros: Location was awesome, right near the river. Very peaceful and sound of river was great.
Cons: Floors were a little dirty. With river nearby thought that is probably hard to avoid. Walls were thin, we heard neighbors snoring at night. The price seems high for how old the buildings were.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great home made breakfast! Different every morning.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hosts, Gael and Jack, were like family greeting us and spending time chatting. Gael was phenomenal in giving directions and advice for local activities and restaurants, and we owe her the credit for a great time on our weekend. The place was very homey, not like the fussy bed and breakfasts we've visited in the past, where we felt like everywhere we turned we would break or ruin something. Gael was ever-accessible for anything, and she is a great cook, feeding us so much breakfast that we saved money on lunch. She even writes down what she serves every guest so that when they return, they don't get a duplicate meal! She also gave us a choice of rooms upon our arrival, since one was vacant...really nice. I should also add that our fellow travelers, a couple from Texas, were wonderful folks, perhaps saying something about the type of people this place attracts.
Cons: The place could use some refreshing, like new carpet in the main lounge area. The lighting is low, which works for romance, but not so much for reading. We made do, though. Also, the radio was loud, and couldn't be turned down. (I like listening as I go to sleep, which I couldn't do because of that.) That's pretty trivial, I admit!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was quiet and relaxing. The breakfasts provided were excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was perfect and well decorated both with sitting room and bath. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were delicious & special! We are vegetarians and it was 'no problem'. We would definitely stay here again if the chance permits. And we most highly recommend this B&B for a sweet taste of hidden pleasures.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfasts are delicious and the location is great--a short walk to town. The grounds are private/quaint, including a rear deck overlooking a grove of trees near the river below. Lots of birds!
Cons: Ideas: Soft music playing in the living area would be a pleasant touch. Also, comfy cushions for the deck chairs and a side table for drinks, mags and bug spray in p.m. Used our Google home for music.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast both days. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Very restful and relaxing location. We would stay here the next time we are in the area.
Cons: Bathroom was small.
10.0 Excellent

5.0 Okay
Pros: The location is nice.
Cons: The staff  was rude at check in. Plus they charge $15 per night for parking after paying for room at $---. Per night I think it should be included. I have been staying here for years (16) and it has severely declined. The second day no maid service

Cons: Very expensive

Pros: The coffee in the lobby was really tasty! The view and location were incredible. Prepare yourself to climb a lot of stairs throughout the day however from street level to room.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: I liked the location (no beach view from the cottage, but you could get to it down a little walk way) The fact that the cottage was pet friendly with a little gated area where they could run around was great! I liked the kitchen and the deck outside with the BBQ. It was a quick Uber ride to the Boardwalk and right next to a Starbucks!
Cons: No air conditioning (which I must've missed in the fine print). They did supply fans though which was nice. The kitchen windows did not open which was a bummer as far as being able to get some air circulating. No pool or hot tub :( I thought it was a bit pricy! I paid about $1400.00 for 2 nights to stay in the cottage- granted there were 7 of us! That included the extra $200.00 for 2 dogs. ($50.00 per dog per night)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful quaint little cottages, decor in keeping with the beach style.Clean inside and beach towels offered. Little beach cove right next door .Staff available and very friendly, gave us great information for around the area.
Cons: The sofa bed had a dip in the middle which made it a little uncomfortable but we were only here for 2 nights so bearable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Super cute and close to the beach. Clean with comfy beds and a nice shower.
Cons: A bit costly. Breakfast was limited for those with dietary restrictions. Parking was also difficult.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the breakfast, the view, and the location!
Cons: They over charged us $800!!! And the prices were high to begin with! We got the wrong rooms and were a little crowded! But staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was quite comfortable and staff were helpful. Nice breakfast provided. Loved being near the ocean. The Inn was conveniently located close to great beaches and most of what we wanted to see.
Cons: We found it a little noisy at times (but are quite sensitive to noise) and wished there were not smoking allowed even in the one location where it was because smoke travels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpfu. Especially the front office person -Quinn. Thank you.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were amazing. Very clean and decorated like a beautiful seaside cottage. Also the continental breakfast was fabulous
Cons: We were under the impression that the rooms looked at the ocean. There was only one room with that view. Also you have access to the ocean but only on a cove. So no long walks on the beach unless you want to walk a mile or so.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful resting areas and nearness the beach!
Cons: Could hear our neighbors at times.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything was new and clean
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The daytime manager was great
Cons: The nighttime manager wouldn’t give us more than 2 keys for a 4 person suite so we had to call my maid of honor and get her to drive back from dinner so we could check in. He also made us take the keys for the other rooms we booked, even though the rest of the wedding party wasn’t flying in until after midnight. We eventually got him to take them back and hold them at the desk, but he was just not interesting in anticipating needs and solving problems.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff, cleanness, lobby.
Cons: Location is near to union square, but lot of homeless ppl not in the nice place of the downtown. Room is really small.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly
Cons: Walls are very thin- we could hear everything in the hallway, in the room next door and people walking around above us. Guests in the hall in the middle of the night made a lot of noise which made it hard to sleep. Breakfast eggs consistently hard

Pros: Very comfortable bed, excellent staff - front desk and housekeeping - nice pool area. Convenient location.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The check in was easy even though we showed up 40minutes early. It was a very nice and peaceful hotel.

Pros: Friendliness of the staff. Great breakfast selection, food was well stocked, the eating area was very clean. Rooms are comfortable and updated.
Cons: It's a very noisy place. Our air conditioner made a clanking noise all night, even after we unplugged it.

Pros: Nice location
Cons: Parking. They don’t offer parking in a lot. It’s street parking. I had to park quite a ways away and carry all my bags along with a baby
4.8 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Staff was awful. Said we could check out late and then gave us attitude about it even when we checked out earlier than they had said we needed to. Parking was horrific! Had to hike up a hill and down the hill for our car that was about three blocks away. We were told by someone barely 20 that it's no big deal she does it every day. Room was super small, exposed wires in the room, and sink in the bathroom drained slowly.

Cons: Sheets and mattress cover falls off after using bed for a few minutes every evening. They are much too small for the king sized bed. Staff never looked up to say hello when we arrived or returned to lobby. Huge bathroom door. Glass Shower door is odd and does not fully close.

Pros: It’s not too far from some interesting areas that we want to visit. I guess it just happened that the weekend was so busy. Some staff are on training that it took awhile for the service but other than that, they were friendly.
Cons: Service at the bar was slow and a little bit on checking out.

Pros: It's not fair for me to comment on the breakfast as I generally don't eat it. Since we were with friends I did this time and my impression was that it was a bit above average. Certainly no complaints.
Cons: Nothing really. A bit lower price would have been nice. I'm not a fan of the "required" valet parking but given the location, of which we were aware, it's understandable. And, the valets were very efficient and helpful.

Pros: The room was clean. Also liked being able to access Netflix on the TV.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool, free parking, free wifi
5.8 Okay
Pros: The staff was really nice and welcoming.
Cons: There were some issues with the ventilation system. Had to ask front desk Tito investigate and they offered a fan to help.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The decor and comfort were perfect. Plus it was quiet.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: I liked that it was close to everything we wanted to do .
Cons: 4 star and it was a 2 star hotel, maybe 3 at best. Our room didn't have a shower curtain. There was chips in the bathtub and mirror. The coffee machine didn't work. The room was just very average. This is a Motel not a Hotel. Overall disappointing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed an afternoon by the pool . The staff was extremely attentive and the cocktails were wonderful . Had the nachos and they were yummy too. The young man Devin couldn’t do enough to help us and another young man moved our umbrellas and made sure we were taken care of . I loved that they kept coming back to see if we needed anything .
Cons: I’m a clean freak and noticed first thing in the morning that all the glass doors were very fingerprinted and that the halls hadn’t been swept from the night before . Soooo important to create a fresh appearance for each day by wiping doors , emptying trash near exits and sweeping the halls. Maybe even hosing down the walkways if water was available. I’m a fanatic about these details.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great spot. Beautiful hotel. Kids loved the pool. Food was a bit pricey but good. Service over and above expectations. The shuttle was great but they need more capacity.
Cons: Location is about a mile from the boardwalk so unless you can get the shuttle, you have to drive and pay to park. And the parking is expensive.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast set-up was great. For a continental breakfast, it was top notch. The location is a very short walk to the beach, wharf and boardwalk. Our room was upstairs, so we were able to sit on the balcony and have a great view of the ocean. Staff was pleasant. There was a situation when a vehicle, with a flat tire, full of intoxicated occupants pulled in and parked in the motel lot. It was a challenging situation for management, but Nick (motel manager) handled it well. We overheard another customer complaining about it the next morning. Nick apologized and offered him a 15% discount. The customer actually declined the offer saying, "I don't want you to do me any favors because I'm going to write a bad review". Nick remained courteous and professional. The situation the night before was not the motels fault. Nick should get a raise!!
