Sound proof wasn’t the best.
Great room, tons of windows. Be sure to checkout the penthouse restaurant/bar.
Valet only parking, we didn’t know about it until we paid to park in a different parking lot and walked to the hotel. You basically pull up and park in the middle of a one way street and valet takes it from there.
I was just glad to be back in the city and see it truly coming together. The streets were clean and people were enjoying their weekend, the way it should be. Such a beautiful location next to the Opera house and Comerica Park. The lobby and common areas of the hotel has that warming and unique old hotel style common of the early 20th century. The rooms themselves were modern in every sense but equally welcoming. I truly enjoyed the experience and would come back if ever in the downtown area again.
Nothing to do with the Element, but the valet of the adjoining hotel the Siren was very rude. We were in town for a wedding and the bride couldn't drop her car off at the valet. So we drove it around the corner and they refused to do it saying they were about have a large number of paying customers arriving. 5 minutes of arguing ensued and they took the car. I recieved no such issues at the Element. They were professional and expedient. They're worth every penny.
The staff were incredibly and genuinely friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate and super comfy. Great location to explore Detroit-we returned to the city after 20 years and were delighted to see it prospering with wide planted sidewalks, parks, night life and restaurants.
