Loved the whole experience of a castle stay little signage to identify Tulloch Castle
The Castle itself is very beautiful and the retention of lots of original features is amazing. The best thing for us was the location as we were visiting friends very close by. Obviously, given that we booked a family room and stated the age of our child, we were very disappointed to be refused admission to the restaurant with children! We had to eat our evening meal in the bar!! Sitting in a bar with a 3 year old is not exactly what we had in mind! We were to far away from other restaurants or that would have been our preference. This ruined what would have been a fantastic weekend break.
Charming helpful receptionist (Joanne) Staff pleasant but not too manyof them. Good food well presented. Up three flights of stairs to bedroom. Radiators not working. Entrance to hotel unimpressive. Cigarette butts and empty glasses in vestibule.
The staff were very friendly and helpfull The decor is very tired in places
We stayed there because it used to be my husband's ancestral home. A bit pricey
Extremely friendly staff - we were upgraded upon arrival to a gorgeous suite. All staff we came in contact with had a very friendly greeting The food in the restaurant was excellent with two restaurants, one offering a more gourmet selection and the other pub type fare. Totally enjoyable experience
The ambience of the castle, the meals, the friendliness of the staff and the lovely open fire in the reception area. I didn't see any lifts - what happens for disabled people who wish to stay?
Bags of character and atmosphere. Real fire in lounge made it very welcoming.Staff very friendly. A genuine treat for my 87 year old dad, who has never in his life stayed in a hotel of this standard. I was sorry not to see the ghost.
veery dated. not 4 star - although they show you every 4 star grading they have. no heating in the room apart from an electric bar heater.
historical context somewhat isolated location
Peaceful and quiet and staff friendly Would classify hotel as 3 star not 4 star
Stayed for a family celebration. Staff and management took control in great fashion and did us pround. Nothing was too much trouble. That we couldn't stay longer. fabulous place. I suppose the cost of soft drinks was an issue. £1.65 for a small glass of lemonade. 2 litre Bottle costs 65pence!
Nice setting They had a problem with drains
We were attending a wedding function at the Pavillion, and decided to stay in Strathpeffer a second night. The Ben Wyvis was an ideal location for this. Bed room was comfortable,, shower was great, breakfast was ample, staff were helpful and friendly. Good value all round. None
friendliness of the staff good food
Nice garden, nice old victorian hotel with big saloon and dinning room Life around the hotel is a bit sad. No pub, need a car to go to the next city if you want to have dinner outside.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was well-run and good value. Nothing really
Breakfast was good. Hotel is tired. Chipped paint on the walls, elevators smelled like mold and carpets were torn. Front desk personnel were rude on check-in. Very disappointing.
Everything, I was there with my son and he really liked the cinema room. The staff were very helpful and always happy and pleasent to talk to, our room was fresh and very comfortable, it was really nice to have a cup of tea whenever I wanted. The information booklet in the room I thought was an excellent idea and I definately used it to find out what there was to see and do. The hotel was very easy to find and in a very beautiful location and it was lovely to take a stroll around the ground. It was very nice to have an activities box for children in the lounge area with outdoor toys, as many hotels do not cater for kids. The food was wonderfull very tasty and satisfying, there was plenty, the breakfast was great too with the food hot and tasty. no
Its convenience for climbing Ben Wyvis
Very nice, welcoming hotel. Friendly owner. Clean and well-kept. Good breakfast. Tv reception in room poor.
Beautiful appointments and room, excellent facilities, excellent breakfast and dining facilities, lovely host
Very luxurious with terry robes, huge claw tub & bidet, and top quality linens and newly decorated. The Internet access was good and the owners were delightful and helpful. We especially enjoyed the full breakfast with fine china every morning. We would highly recommend this to our friends and family.
A friendly welcome. The room was lovely. Welcoming mini decanter of sherry in room, fresh fruit, lovely towels. Comfy bed, well presented. The breakfast was just stunning. Nothing was too much bother. Better choice and fresher than most four star hotels I've stayed in. All round -very good value. No, all was good.
Lovely rooms with kind and meticulous attention to detail from the owner, the papers, welcoming drinks, and interesting chat. Really faultless! Location central and pretty.
Margaret was an exceptional hostess and made us feel very welcome. Craigvar is a lovely place to stay. The room and bathroom were both very large and clean.
Lovely welcome, beautiful room, decanter of sherry, friendly people, great choice of breakfast, very tasty food, conveniently located
Very pleasant, quiet, good food and very nice staff. The signs says a B&B but was looking for a hotel.
The very frendly attitude of owners. No
The accommodation was very comfortable, the service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.
