9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location ideal for our needs. It was very clean, tidy and modern.
Cons: We found it difficult to get channels on the TV, it kept saying due to atmospheric conditions a channel was unavailable . However this kept changing channel to channel very randomly. This was very annoying and seems it is a technical issue not atmospheric conditions. Hopefully this has been sorted.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the sitting area. The kitchen and bathroom were lovely too, with a nice shower and toiletries. The bed was very comfortable. The supply of tea and coffee was very good, and Cookie Time cookies were a nice treat.
Cons: The parking area is very narrow, I wouldn't want to have a large vehicle and several little things were not in keeping with the rest of the accommodation standard. The flannels provided were so cheap they were see-through yet the towels were luxurious, and the toilet paper was also very cheap - single ply I think!! And they provided a very nice coffee plunger - one cup size, yet provide sachets of ground coffee for a two cup pot.

Pros: Breakfast was very good with a nice verity to choose from. Dinning area was bright and with plenty of room. Staff where very helpful.

Pros: Nice room, unusual bur effective kitchen equipment, free laundry and products, good wifi considering the location away from the city. Lovely quiet surroundings and an informative host.
Cons: the only issue was the roads in, lovely drive but the coastal route is littered with heavy delays on the road due to extensive roadworks, the drive over the top is stunning but for the slightly timid driver may de a little daunting, even by New Zealand standards......

Pros: Neat location with elevated views of the harbour and handy to some great drives, walks and attractions. Cozy unit, quiet, fully equipped, excellent bed.. Our unit had a bird feeder in the native bush below us so were treated to a fantastic display of Tui and Bellbirds over breakfast. Very relaxing, great sleep and would definitely stay again for longer as there are some great coastal drives on the peninsula.
Cons: Not a complaint, but note that Portobello is 20 minutes drive from Dunedin city so it's best for a relaxing time away enjoying the albatross/penguins, walks and views. There is a pub and a few cafes a minute or two's walk away, plus full cooking facilities in the unit.
9.6 Excellent

Pros: The breakfast was outstanding. The first morning my other half had three breakfasts - first was muesli, fruit and yoghurt, second was bacon and eggs and all the trimmings, and the third was 4 slices of toast with jam and marmite and (his own) honey. So no complaints there at all!! The room was warm and spacious and the bed was comfortable, The bathroom was huge and it was clean and tidy. The hosts were perfect. There when you needed them but not in an obtrusive way. And they both had lots of suggestions re cafes and markets which we followed and appreciated. Would definitely stay again. Really excellent accommodation. Thank you.

Pros: Best breakfast we had in NZ - freshly cooked by Sandy. Didn’t need lunch! Must see Olveston and do the Unique tour at the Royal Albatross Centre. Also highly recommend theMonarch wildlife cruise from Weller Rocks. Take the high road out the peninsula and Walk down the beach at Sandfly Point to see Sea lions. Loved Dunedin. The Orokonui Ecosanctuary was beautiful too!
Cons: The room might have needed cooling on a warmer night.

Pros: Luxury vacation house with great view. Warm welcome and superb hospitality by the owners. Tea was served to the room at night and in the morning. Breakfast was great.
Cons: No wi-fi
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Restview is on a gated community accessed by coded metal gates. The property is modern, exceptionally clean, pristine and well furnished. There is no TV in the room which suited us and toiletries are provided in the bathroom. The breakfast was adequate and parking is easy.
Cons: The hosts Linda & Geoff who are very, very friendly and knowledgeable for us were over friendly. On our arrival we were asked if we liked wildlife and informed that we had been booked onto two trips with a restaurant reservation. As we had been travelling for 5.5 hours and had not requested this we politely declined. Keen to get to our room and relax we spent the next 30 minutes being bombarded with information about what to do in Dunedin. At breakfast the following morning Linda & Geoff constantly hovered whilst we ate asking what we wanted and what spoons and utensils we should use for the relevant condiments. Wi-Fi for guests was not available even though they had access to it. At our last breakfast we were sat apart as it appeared the other guests had been placed in order that we were unable to sit together as there were only four seats available.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great as unbeknown to us my partners aunt lived 4 minutes drive away. Breakfast was amazing and delicious. The room was 5 star quality, roomy, well appointed, warm and comfy.
Cons: Prior to our departure we advised the hosts that they maybe add their bank details on the payment page as there may be people like my partner who don't use Internet Banking and it made payment a little tricky when we were travelling and payment was required before arrival. A minor issue.

Pros: Sparkling clean, new and modern
Cons: No wi-fi
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, beautiful home, lovely hosts and phenomenal breakfast.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location and facilities
Cons: Our room had no information re the area, activities etc
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Relaxing motel. We had an oceanfront room which might be noisy for those not used to sea hitting the sea-wall at high tide - but we loved it. There’s a small balcony to sit on and watch the people strolling the esplanade or the surfers. A bonus was that a locked garage car park was offered with our room too. Room was of a simple layout, but very clean and warm. Great staff service. A few steps away from great eateries in St Clair for breakfast, lunch or dinner and of course the lovely St Clair beach to walk off what you over indulged in.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant was convenient down stairs and great selection, happy service. Very close to the railway statiOn very good for rail tours.
Cons: Reception did not tell me there was a lift to rooms, stairs were difficult with suitcase. Another guest told us where the lift was.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Easily accessible from intercity bus stop. Very central to all city amenities and and sites of interest. Staff friendly. Comfortable bed. A place to sleep is all that was needed.
Cons: Room a tad chilly even when heating turned on. WiFi reception very poor. Housekeeping didn’t leave our towels in room even though we’d hung them up. Towels replaced once requested.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location central to town. Parking downtown for free.
Cons: Bit noisy - guests upstairs having showers early in the morning and you'll hear the water running directly above your bed. There's construction work going on next door and they start early - 7am. During our stay they had deliveries unloaded by a noisy crane starting just before 7am. Not good if you're that side of the building. Bottles we guess from the bar in the hotel being emptied into the larger bins outside and directly below some of the rooms.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location is very good.
Cons: Hotel's building looks very modern but the hotel room is looks old. Wooden floor covered with carpet is very noisy when walking on the room.

Pros: Very convenient location
Cons: A little old but comfortably nevertheless
6.7 Good
Pros: Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Good location.
Cons: Checking in was a bit of a hassle as bar staff also run the check-in desk. If I wanted to communicate with the hotel I had to walk downstairs as they wouldn't answer the phone. The room was fairly run down and the bathroom is very basic, I didn't use the shower as it looked a bit rough.
