The lounge was good to relax. Great greek salad. Best was the shuttle to the airport which allowed cheap public transportation to/from NYC There is nothing within walking distance (food/drinks/snacks)
We loved the atmosphere in the bar, and having it open till late. Very handy after landing relatively late! Very friendly staff on the bar, on reception and the shuttle driver. Extremely comfortable and a convenience store next to reception which came in use! Amazing value for money, same standard as any high 4* hotel if not better! Loved the stay, thanks! :) We couldnt find the shuttle to the hotel when we landed very easily, so ended up paying for a taxi, however when leaving the hotel, we were pleased with the efficiency of the services.
Nothing The hotel is nothing like the picture, it was very dirty and old. This is the worst experience I ever had. DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL, its full of roaches !!
Location next to Newark Airport with free shuttle. Good value. Hotel is shabby, carpet fraying, lots of dings and marks on the walls in hallways (though room itself was in better shape). Housekeeping must've been rushed, because underwear left by a previous guest was on the floor of our bathroom. Yuck.
Facilities were very nice -- clean and comfortable room. Staff at check-in desk also friendly and helpful. Shuttle service driver was very nice on arriving, however, shuttle driver in morning was late and a bit rude.

we thought the telephone call to the room upon our arrival asking if everything was ok with the room was excellent. only speciality teas supplied in the room. Gratuity in restaurant was forced upon us, not given the chance of discretion.
The rooms and staff were nice The shuttle service was very poor. Understaffed shuttle service for people trying to make flights. If you are going to use mini-vans, you need to have more of them, or have bigger shuttles on stand-by.

The bed was comfy and divine! Check out time was noon. Service fell short. Shuttle took 40 minutes to arrive; I had to call twice. Massive plane delays brought me in at 3 a.m. and it was not fun waiting yet again. First room shown smelled to me of smoke; no problem about changing rooms. However, she said she would slip a new room key under the door while i could sleep (almost 4 a.m. by now) and she did not. It was easier to not leave the room when I woke (bc very tired) then to deal with trying to get a new key to my room when I would be checking out soon. I left hotel at 11:30ish a.m. without coffee but showered.
They set up a pack and play and refrigerator. Huge win! No bellman to bring our bags up. We had to push the luggage cart ourselves. The restaurant was initially rude when I asked to take food upstairs (to my husband and sleeping daughter). I was surprised that this was supposed to be "in" the airport but it still required a van to access. They will not direct you to a walking path. The van was included (nice) but the driver refused to go to the premier counter, leaving us to lugg baby and bags up multiple flights. Not as easy as for a solo business traveller
The place was very clean and nice, and very professional looking. If you're not a posh business person, it isn't the best. We made the mistake of ordering Dominos to the room, and the hotel was obviously not very happy about "fast food" coming. First of all, they gave the delivery person a hard time and accused her of not really having customers here and being shady, before they finally called my room. Once I confirmed we had indeed ordered pizza, they wouldn't even let the delivery person come into the hotel, and I had to go outside to meet them.

Lobby and restaurants remodeled. You can walk to terminals but a shuttle is provided. Best place you can stay when departing from EWR.
Great bed, nice room layout, very quiet and dark which was nice for sleeping. If you close the curtains you will not be able to tell you are essentially in an airport. Restaurant was okay -- not bad, not great. A bit expensive for the quality.
Had to pay for computer access in business suite, no free TV channels…..everything was promotional.
Got in at midnight and still able to grab a quick bit in the restaurant/lounge! Staff was great and never made us feel rushed.
A shout-out to the Newark Airport Marriott for their excellent customer service. Having taken a red-eye and landing in Newark at 5:55 yesterday morning, we went straight to the Marriott, not necessarily to check in, but to have them be aware that we were there, because we knew we wouldn't be back to use it until around midnight. The night clerk decided just to check us in early, at 6:30 a.m. We never went to the room, but left for our day in NJ and NY (and Neal Gottlieb 's Survivor viewing party, which was attended by so many relatives and friends). When we returned to the Marriott just past midnight, we attempted to print our board passes for this morning. When that didn't work, the same night clerk offered to try during the night and have them for us in the morning. Great. We went to our assigned room, and when we opened the door, we saw it was a wreck. It had not been cleaned at all. So it was a trip back to our now favorite night clerk. After explaining the situation, a supervisor got involved. We received an apology, and an upgrade to an executive suite which included a full breakfast. Thank you, Marriott!
Overall the hotel was beautiful. The room was very spacious and neat. My stay was very pleasant. The jacuzzi was out of order and the pool water appeared to be dirty. I didn't like that you have to pay for parking if you booked a room and that you only have 1 hour of free parking.
I loved the comfort, cleanliness and everything overall I will be returning soon.

Everything, microwave and fridge were available without extra charge, relaxing atmosphere and i felt safe in the environment. No dislikes here.
The staff , breakfast and pool The location kinda tricky
Upon arrival we found a spacious room which was very clean and updated furniture with comfortable double beds. Microwave and mini fridge were included as well as free parking. The free breakfast was nothing fancy but was adequate and got the job done. I was happy to find my favorite Kashi cereal, but the coffee wasn't to my liking. Overall I would definitely book this room again.
The room was super clean and spacious. I would stay here for leisure or business anytime. We even had a little view of the city and planes coming into Newark Liberty. My wife and I drove here from Ohio and this was the perfect balance of what we needed. Cost effective + parking + NYC access A little far from the city and public transit but with a little creativity you can get there in no time for only a few dollars.

1st- Decent breakfast 2nd- Could not hear the airplanes even though we where right next to the airport. 3rd- After having an issue with the first morning having the lobby and breakfast area completely blocked by a school group, they moved them to a conference room are for the next 2 days to resolve it. 4th- Had plenty of power outlets around the desk. 5th- The free wifi internet was not slow, making it unnecessary to purchase the $9.99 a day "upgraded high speed" pass. After reading reviews for all the hotels in the area and seeing mixed reviews for all,I decided to to try each hotel for a few nights to see which was the best. Facing a 2-3 month stay in the area, I was going to be able to try a few. This was my second hotel after Holiday Inn Newark, so here is what I got. 1st- No bottled water in the room, maybe this is just a Northern US thing, because most major hotels in the Southern US and West coast have 1 or 2 free bottled waters in the room. 2nd- Had to pay $15+tax a day for parking even though when reviewing the description of the hotel it said there was a "Surcharge" for extended parking, it did't show the fees for parking until after booking even though it showed it as an amenity. I mean, I didn't have to pay for the pool, business center, gym, or elevator use, and they were all listed as amenities without noting a surcharge. 3rd- There was a smell to the room I couldn't place. It was a light smoke and minor mold smell. I got used to it after being the room for a few hours but every time I left and came back, there it was. 4th- Fridge was the smallest fridge you could possible find, like 1.2 ft2.
Convenient shuttle to the airport They provided me with take out menus for nearby delivery I ordered delivery from a nearby Italian restaurant and they delivered it right to my hotel room door. Nice indoor pool and jacuzzi There is no bar or restaurant in this hotel you have to walk down a road where there is no sidewalk to get to the Courtyard Marriot which is a short walk but 2 doors down to get to the food and bar. Menu and bar is extremely small.
The location is very close to train stations and the free parking is a very nice perk. If they run out of parking they will park it for you. The elevator is simply amazing. It sounds like such a little thing but it is really fast and they don't shut them down on off hours so you're never waiting for one. As other guests mentioned the A/C doesn't work very well. If you turn it all the way to cold (past the temp settings) it will get comfortable after about 30 minutes. The bed is very lumpy and extremely uncomfortable.
Stayed for 4 nights for the 2016 Star Trek convention in NYC. No regrets. Staff was friendly and helpful. Convenient, free parking. Clean, comfortable room. Good breakfast. Walking distance to Newark Penn Station. Reasonably safe urban neighborhood. Easy access to NYC via PATH or NJ Transit. Price compared to NYC hotels. My room had a nice view. Was able to park the full day after I checked out. Elevators malfunctioned one morning (this was a huge annoyance). Area around hotel closes very early (no good restaurants, convenience stores, etc).
Rooms updated but small, adequate for my business needs. Onsite restaurant, excellent food and service but is pricey. Parking is free, good news, finding a parking spot can be difficult but attendant is helpful, may have to park 1/2 block away.
- Good complimentary breakfast - Decent gym facilities - Convenient free shuttle to the train station and airport - WiFi fairly fast and reliable I was put on a floor that was renovating (maybe all floors were renovating). As a result, the entire floor looked really run down, it smelled like paint, and it was loud.
I had low expectations based on reviews, but rooms were clean and spacious and recently renovated. Wifi worked fine for me. Staff were friendly and attentive. Good value for the money. Maybe I just got lucky this time, but nonetheless I'd stay again. Fine for a night. The area is a bit dicey, but not so much so that it should prevent you from walking to the train station, etc.
Location & Price are great! Good breakfast included with hotel stay. Had to switch rooms b/c of a grainy picture in tv and shower stopping up. Also, b/c of warmer temperatures during this winter season the hotel decids no to offer heat in the rooms...WTF? IT STILL WAS COLD AT NIGHT!

I asked for a "quiet" room and ended up next door to a group of women who were clapping, cheering, and in general having a good time. I don't mind people having fun but at 1:00 in the morning I really wanted to get some sleep.
Good location for getting into NYC. The breakfast was pretty good. Employees were very friendly. Room was clean. Bathroom door did not close and some of the walls had paint/wallpaper peeling off. Vending machines were all either non-functioning, didn't take bills, or were not well-stocked. We ordered a cheese pizza when we got in for a quick bite to eat and it was possibly the worst pizza I've ever had, especially from a restaurant. A frozen pizza would have been better. Our neighbors rolled in around 2 AM and were loud and woke us and kept us up until about 5:30 - 6AM when we finally had to call the front desk to ask them to do something about it and even then it still took a while for them to quiet down.

Can't give much of a review. Was there on business for one night. Location was convenient. Exterior was impressive. Room was nice. I was not expecting much, so it met my needs. Would stay again.
I was very dissatisfied with our stay. I planned a last minute staycation with my daughter. The weather was menacing so I looked for a place in the area with a nice indoor pool. What they don't tell you in any of the descriptions on the Sheraton Paraippany is that the pool is part of the Atlantis Health Club and, evidently, anyone can go for the day (I imagine there's a small fee). We were swimming in the already cramped single lane of the indoor pool. I was already dismayed that, even though there were many little ones swimming with their parents, they still excluded us from the other two roped off lanes--one was reserved for lap swimming, and the other for kiddy swimming lessons (with MANY kiddies, one of them screaming at the top of his lungs for the entirely of his lesson). I noticed pieces of food, cereal and other garbage, laying around the pool, while the life guard sat there, allowing kids to balance themselves on the divider ropes, despite someone trying to swim laps right next to them. What sent me (and my ten year old) over the edge was when an entire group of young children arrived from outside the hotel. A day camp I think. There were now an additional 15 or so kids, plus 3 or 4 adult supervisors. For the first half hour they were there, the outdoor pool was still closed due to bad weather--why they did not open up another of lane to accommodate this group is beyond me. They expected 30+ people to swim comfortably in one lane of a NOT Olympic sized pool?! It was ridiculous so we left and went back to our not very clean room (pubic hair in the bathtub, stains on the carpet and on the bed-skirt) and ordered over priced hamburgers that were hard as hockey pucks and ridiculously over-priced. It was just an all-around very disappointing experience. I will not be returning there.
Breakfast was horrible tv was broke and I set the alarm clock for 8:00 am and bring they cut the power off for a min the alarm didn't go off getaway was awful
When I order a superior king don't change it to double bed room and tell me that's what I ordered
The staff was extremely helpful and courteous in both the hotel and the restaurant. The facilities were clean. The rooms need more noise insulation. Both from outside noises, and interior noises. There should be an exhaust fan in the bathroom.

My girlfriend and I spent the night there for a nice getaway from home after we had went to my brother's soccer game at Seton Hall. Everyone and everything was great. The room was perfect, we had requested extra towels before we checked in and the accommodation was made. When we got there, I called the home bar to request a bottle of wine and the bar staff was able to help recommended a good wine for us. Everything was clean and comfortable. Definitely would recommend staying here for any occasion, especially for the price, very good value. We will absolutely keep this hotel in mind for weekend excursions in the future. There was nothing not to like, everything was great.

Very polite and helpful front end staff.I needed directions and they gave me better than my navigation system! I did not enjoy my experience at the breakfast buffet.They sat me a a table very near the entry door and did not cover the table with linen. I thought this was standard until I noticed every table around the room had been covered with linen except mine.

Hotel charged me a cancellation fee of $75; Booking.com's email showed it was supposed to be $35. Same when I checked in--rate higher than Booking.com, but I caught it then.

Clean, very close to train station. Don't expect to check in before 3pm. Breakfast in the restaurant was terrible. Got the corn beef hash... by far the worse I've ever had.... tremendously overpriced for the quality of food. You will hear the honking from the traffic until approx. 10pm. The area surrounding the hotel is not nice... I would recommend not walking around much.

The staff were very helpful, they were particularly friendly in the Market Grill where we had breakfast on 2 mornings. Beautiful room, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Usually we stay in Manhattan when we visit New York but this hotel offered a great alternative.It was very cost effective as it was $10 return from the station to Penn Station New York [34th Street near Macys] Our room was not ready when we arrived and even when we came back at 11pm, we then had to wait on the bell hop to bring it up. Think this should have been done.The Starbucks attached to the Lobby only opened Monday to Friday and even then closed at 7 pm. The walkway from the train station to the hotel was closed each evening when we returned from the city meaning that we had to go outside of the station and cross the road to access the hotel lobby. During this we were stopped several times by people asking for money.
No running water. Not advertised at the time of booking although they knew there was a scheduled outage for repairs. Had to check out, get reimbursed and go to another hotel upon learning that there was no running water at check in.
I did like the access to the New Jersey Transit and airport. There are some resturants and shops in the building to pick up anything needed. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful to any questions we had. I did not like a few things in our room, such as, no place to hang a hand towel, the sink counter was badly cracked with a poor fix job, and the hair dryer was very old and weak. It seemed as a left over from another guest. The safety is questionable. I was there with my husband and felt okay but we both felt uncomfortable at times. I would not recommend staying alone or walking the streets at night. If you are there to visit NYC, I highly recommend staying in the city over NJ. With the cost of transportation and time back and forth, you waste time and money.
Arrived late and called the hotel about the shuttle from Newark airport, was told it was on its way. 1 hour later was told it was stuck in traffic, so caught a cab and was there in 10 minutes, didn't see much traffic anywhere.

It has a very convenient location near the train station that made our trip in and out of New York easy. There was some difficulty in confirming a taxi booking to go to an event.

The location was great. The cost was unbelievably low. It was very quiet and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Total time to check in and out was less than 5 minutes. The room was huge. Refrigerator and microwave in the room, also. Conveniently located next to Target, gas station and dunkin donuts for coffee. Gluten Free restaurants, like Luigis and Godfather, were very close. Great place for business travelers like myself. Room was very clean, but the carpets were dirty. There was an a second entrance to the right of the main entry and there were always large groups (10+ people) standing around and smoking and hanging in the parking lot, sitting in running cars... It was a very awkward environment and almost impossible to avoid.
-Searched for this hotel on Kayak and it was the cheapest of the ones in the area. I'm surprised that the cost was so low because it really was a great place to stay! -Continental breakfast was great, new food items every day. -The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. I called down on the second day of our stay to ask for more towels and washcloths, which they quickly brought up to my room. -There were three entrances with stairs, which was nice if you didn't want to wait for the elevator. Also, if your room was far from the main entrance it was a faster way to get to and from the parking lot. -No password needed for the WIFI (most hotels make you sign in and it's kind of a pain to connect if your password is incorrect or misplaced). -There was a sports bar connected so you could eat there if you so pleased. -They did not have a water fountain on the first floor (or any floor to my knowledge). -The ice machine on the third floor was broken. -No fridge or microwave (I did not ask for either but these would have been nice accommodations).
Clean room with breakfast included AC was broken in room, took them 1.5 hours to get us room with working AC. Staff seemed overwhelmed with tasks and wasn't very helpful or responsive to problems. Obviously old hotel with a few cosmetic updates, but still dumpy.

Free shuttle service between EWR and hotel, both ways. Staff was friendly and helpful. I had a room on the 6th floor, it had a vaulted ceiling which was lovely. Clean luxurious sheets, beds were comfortable with pillow options. Plenty of space. Large mini fridge in the room. Convenient, Way better than sleeping on the floor of EWR. Wifi did not work. Elevator incredibly slow. Air quality in my room was not great, was pretty stale and overpowered by air freshener. The windows were not openable to add fresh air. Food in the restaurant is subpar, with virtually no clean eating options. There are no other food options in the area, as the hotel is located amidst train tracks, gates, car parks and rental lots that seem to stretch to forever. $2 for a small bottle of Poland Springs bottled water in the vending machine.
The bed!! So comfortable. Also I left my luggage on the shuttle, and they were very helpful in facilitating my getting it back. The plane was late, and the shuttle took much too long to pick up.
Very nice room and very friendly staff. Free shuttle to and from airport. Nice rate. Coffee and muffins were available at 4:30 am. Other guests were extremely loud- banging doors and yelling in the hall the entire night. It kept waking us up. Our wake up call rang at 3:40 instead of 4:40. We reserved a shuttle and one of the drivers never showed for work; so at 4:50 on the morning there were four families trying to get to the airport for our flights. The driver was very, very nice but one family was forced to stay behind.

I liked the customer service! Carlos was our waiter one evening and he was so sweet and friendly. The shuttle drivers were also wonderful. Friendly, professional and very nice!! The breakfast was very good also. The only thing I didn't like was that my bed was not made one day by housekeeping and the did not replenish the coffee nor did they remove the melted ice from the ice bucket. I was very disappointed in that part of the service since, as a mom, I do look forward to going to a hotel to be a little spoiled. I didn't complain to the front desk since the rest of the hotel experience was wonderful!!! All in all I would go there again.

The Irish pub in the restaurant was excellent. The staff was very professional, accommodating and friendly. The room was clean other than the issues cited in the other box. The lobby is beautiful and clean. The location is convenient and there was plenty of free parking. I booked for 3 adults and requested 2 doubles, however my email confirmation stated 1 king bed. I called the Marriott and was told there were no rooms left with double beds. I then called hotels.com and was told the room could be changed to 2 doubles, however upon arrival the reservation was still for 1 king. Thankfully the desk clerk noticed the size of our party and immediately changed the reservation 2 doubles without me having to ask her. Don't know why this was an issues when I originally called the Marriott (or why the change made through hotels.com did not change the actual reservation at the hotel). There was some black mold on the ceiling above the tub/shower and the room had a slightly musty smell, like a damp basement. Our room refrigerator was not working upon arrival and the hotel had to send up a maintenance person to get it to work. We discovered there was a big cultural conference (NJ/NY VSNA Indian conference) taking place during our stay. No issues with the cultural conference however with so many people mingling about in the lobby and hallways we felt like we were intruding on a private event and that was uncomfortable. We did not feel like we should walk around the hotel and stayed in our room. It would have been nice if I was told about the conference at the time of booking.

Lobby is good. The event we attended is at the same building so staying at this hotel location made sense Got a wrong room. I requested for double queen bed but was given single king. So a family of 4 is sharing a single bed. No effort is made to help the situation. I even tried to ask if there is something she can do. I got a big 'NO'. However, the couple after us the a double queen bed. The door going out into the veranda is broken so we have to turn on the heater.

The hotel is close to the airport with a frequent shuttle service between the hotel and the airport. It is basic and not the most luxurious or fancy hotel, but we didn't want to pay the price for that kind of hotel. This one was clean, the rates were reasonable and it is far enough away from the runway that it wasn't noise but close enough to make it a short transfer. It may not be where I would choose to stay for a holiday but if I wanted somewhere convenient to stay before or after a flight, then I would definitely use it again.

Basic accommodation for the budget traveler. Stay only if you missed your flight out of Newark or have a connection. Had specifically requested a non-smoking room. They had only smoking rooms available. The smell was so bad that my wife and I had to keep the windows open (in December !) to breathe some fresh air. As a small mercy the housekeeping gave us some room freshener to spray. The on-site restaurant is too pricey. The breakfast at the restaurant ($11) was not at all good. The front-desk did not mention that the restaurant would be closing early. When we reached the front desk, they just gave us a Chinese take-out menu. This worked out better because the Chinese food was much cheaper and tastier (I'd recommend that). The good part is that the hotel had an airport shuttle. If you don't have a car, that's a cheap way to get to the city and other places.
I thought the location was excellent. I really appreciated the free shuttle from the airport. The room was just fine and we ordered pizza. It tasted great. It was as good a rest as a person could have on a layover.
We really liked how close the hotel was to the airport. The shuttle between the airport and the hotel was about 5 minutes. If you're not used to road noise you may have difficulty sleeping

I liked being picked up from airport by courtesy car. I liked the selection of movies. I thought the hotel was very good value for money. The front of house receptionist stayed on a personal call all the time she was checking me making it hard to ask her questions and i found it a bit unprofessional. She was very helpful however later when my remote control did not work she got me a new one and was able to answer all my queries well.
Airport shuttle came late and the staff refused to help us with the timing of the shuttle.

Clean and front desk staff very helpful and nice. Shuttle to destination Sunday AM. Food in restaurant was good for Sunday breakfast. Shuttle driver could not speak or understand English. This could be a problem. Room Service was good and fast. Restaurant in hotel poorly staffed on Sunday morning. Only one waitress, need more. Wake up call did not come to room.

Big and comfy bed
This hotel has been recently been renovated. The public areas on the first floor are very nice, and the quest rooms are very nice as well. My only negative comment (and it's very minor) is that the hallways in the guest room areas still need to be redone. The front desk and restaurant staff's are very friendly and accommodating.
I arrived at 2 pm only to be told to wait an hour. Upon returning at 3 I was told the room wasnt ready and I could have a double bed. I refused and was told by the manager YOU CANT EXPECT US TO RUSH OUR STAFF. My toilet was broken. I was charged 3 TIMES for the same thing. Then I was told the only thing that can be done is a FREE DINNER....unacceptable treatment and horrible attitudes
I am very picky, about clean, germs when it comes to hotels. the staff was friendly, from the valet to restaurant staff. the room was clean. i would go back and stay there again.

First of all, I am a veteran traveler. I used to travel for a living, spending more than 200 nights a year in hotels. What upsets me about any poor service experience is that it is relatively easy to avoid with good training and good management.\n\nI checked into the Doubletree Newark Airport after 11pm on the 13th of December. If I didn't already know they had a shuttle from the airport, there would have been no way to know they had one running. In the terminal and also at the P4 shuttle pick-up area, the hotel is not displayed on the courtesy phone area. I ended up having to call the hotel to see if indeed there was a shuttle bus available. \n\nWhen I arrived at the property, there were 4 people behind the front desk but no one at the front door or any bell service available. I had numerous bags as I was returning from an overseas trip and had to secure the bell cart myself. I passed several staff members with this cart and no one offered to assist me. \n\nThe guestroom was fine, although it needed a bit of cleaning. The bed was quite comfortable. As I recall, this used to be a Wyndham and it had been throughly renovated under their management, so the product quality was good.
Clean and affordable. I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel in general which would include the room, lobby area, and the indoor pool. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and very accomodating when it came asking for directions, coordinating adjoining rooms, and providing additional services such as a roll away bed and blankets. Each time we came back to the hotel from our day or evening trips the front desk manager or clerks would ask how our day went. We enjoyed the flat screen, LCD T.V. and the variety of channels available for free viewing. The only downside to the hotel is that it's located right off the highway across from the airport which meant we were pretty much land locked which limited our dining choices without having to drive. The Perkins shuttle never showed so we ended up eating lunch the first day in the hotel restaurant. Being right off the highway also made it very challanging and confusing to get into the frontage road area where th ehotel is located. You needed to learn the N.J.. u-turn system the hard way to figure it out. Great touch to have the computer and printer in the business area for guests to print out their boarding passes. Security wise they have a guard at the gate of the parking lot and you need your room key to operate the elevator.
Some hotels have gorgeous communal areas, such as the lobby, and the lounge, but a different standard for their rooms. Renaissance Newark Airport had beautiful areas that were communal, and their rooms were of the same high standard. Bed was comfortable, and warm. Room was spacious and clean. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Shuttle to and from the airport is a plus. Many airline staff stay at the hotel, so the morning shuttle filled up fast, but another shuttle was dispatched right away, to pick up the overflow of passengers. I would stay here each time I'm in the area. Not just a good value, but a great place to stay, meet, eat, hold a conference, etc.
Beware, renovation under way. Paint on carpets, in sinks.... smell is in the air. Not sure why I didn't know about the daily parking fee ($14).
We needed a hotel not far from the airport as we had a 6:30 am flight the day after our stay. The staff at the Renaissance were incredibly helpful with any and all questions we had re: transportation, food, etc. Although we had a short night's sleep due to our obligations, it was completely restful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
If you have a choice I wouldnt stay here. The surrounding area is horrible. Also, very very hard to find and easy to get lost in an area I dont feel safe in. The hotel is just average, the staff is just ok. Absolutely no restaurants in the vicinity so you are forced to eat at the hotel for mediocre food. Meeting rooms had leaking ceiling, where water came through like rain! Parking for hotel guests is expensive! Unfortunately I had to stay here for a meeting, if I had a choice I would not stay here!
The room was pretty clean and adjacent to Newark Liberty International Airport. The view was just overlooking the parking lot. Nothing else. The lobby was very beautiful.
This was my third stay at this hotel and even better than the last two. The rooms, lobby, and restaurant have been very tastefully redone. The room was very comfortable with HD TV. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Even though near the airport, my rooms have always been quiet.

location is good. Value is good. change type of 'Do not Disturb signs' from Magnets to paper / cardboard. Ensure guest room is made up after the 'Do not Disturb' sign is taken down.
I always love how much space you get for the price! I think they hadn't totally finished cleaning the room when I got it at 5pm...all the dishes were still in the dishwasher, some of the normal bathroom items weren't stocked like conditioner was empty etc. Sheets smelled a little like wet dog too.

Nothing! For starters, when I entered there was this woman who seemed to be from the carribbean at the front desk. She didn't say hi or no type of greetings at all. All she said was ''Next." She then asked for my info a said you need to pay for parking. After paying $200 and something I then needed To pay $30 for parking! In the the party sure I got this room it did not say that. After paying ny family and I went to our room. Walking down the hall way it smelled like bad cigarettes and yet it was supposed to be non smoking. My bathroom in the room badly smelled of cigarettes. There was holes in the sheets we were sleeping with especially in the comforters. When we turn the ac on the room reeked of pee! On our second day I requested some extra towels when a lady brought them I greeted her with a hello and thank you. She said nothing, rolled her eyes and left. I will never waste my money at this place again.

Close to airport The room was filthy. There was hair all over the counter and dried toothpaste on the sink. We didn't feel comfortable sleeping in the beds with the rest of the room that dirty.

the room was decent the bathrook could be better atleast with fitting shower curtains. the fitness center was convenient also but its closes at 11, what about the guests that work late shifts that want a quick workout? any exceptions? the time the gym closes, no indoor pool, cafe was over priced, there were no king size bed smoking rooms.
The rates they have are 4star hotel rates and the hotel itself a 2star hotel. No value for my money. Beds aren't comfortable at all. The hotel itself as a whole could use some major renovation. Improvement on staff too. The old guy at the front desk wasn't that welcomimg. Being that close to one of the busiest airports around, a lot of money is being made so doing all those improvements is possible. All around environment

I liked the shuttle to NYC. The hotel had a strong odor and I'd I need of some repair. Our room had obvious water damage and rust in the bathroom.
The restaurant and staff inside hotel are great. Receptionist made a copy of my ID but didn't ask from other guest. After first night, one of the cleaners took some candy for out room, and while checking out the next night, I requested late check out and I went down to eat but when ai went back my key didn't work. I wnt to front office and had it re- keyed and it still didn't work so she told me just to ask the cleaners to let me in and they did eventual after going back a forth three times.
Clean room. Good location. Good, affordable room service. There was a strong smell, like citrus cleaning fluid, throughout the hotel. I saw this mentioned on other reviews -- not sure of the issue there. Also, the tub drain was slow, causing buildup during showers. And during part of the stay, the wifi went down.
None. The FDA staff are ill-fated trained in basic customer relationship. The hotel charges for parking and yet they are not within the airport immediate area and definitely not a down town area as well. Rooms looks damp and old.

this is newly open, we believe there is no bedbug infestation yet..... cleaning people are not guided on when customers are checking out....they did not clean our room until we requested them during the night......they came back the following morning asking us if we want the room clean (that was the day we are checking out)....... no shops around the area
I liked the fact that the rooms were updated and modern. There was nothing that was not available that you would need in the room itself. Very clean and smells like green tea. Everything that was offered was natural or organic. Beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was wonderful. They rain shower head was a great added bonus. We stayed on the 3rd floor not much of a view. You heard the train pass by but it was not overwhelming, but I'm from the city so I'm used to it I guess. The the electrical panel box was located in the hallway of the room within a child's reach and it was not locked so I'd be very careful with children alone in the rooms with being so exposed
We love having the shuttle service available in a 5 mile radius. Room is very comfortable. I feel at home whenever we stay at the Elrment Harrison. We wish the pool was heated. Also, we wish that the breakfast hours were extended. Wish there was a convenience store opened nearby.

Convenient location to the airport and decent shuttle. The warm cookie is always good. The room was not in good shape. The chairs had big stains on them and things were falling apart. When I checked out and showed the front desk person the pictures of the problems of the room she did not apologize but just glanced at it and said she would tell housekeeping.

The hotel was comfortable and had all the amenities one could need. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to check-in before 11 a.m. without an additional fee, took advantage of the free shuttle to the airport several times to get to the Amtrak station and head into New York City. When our room keys stopped working at we went to the front desk for assistance, not only did the clerk apologize for the inconvenience, but she advised that if it should happen again, we didn't need to return to the front desk. Instead, we could call from a house phone near the elevator on our floor and they would send someone up to assist us. This hotel provided great value for the price and I would definitely stay there again. When I checked out, I inquired about paying for parking. I was told that I would need to pay at the gate when I left since there were no charges on my room bill. However, I was not advised until I pulled up to the gate that they only accept cash there. Luckily, I had enough cash on hand to pay for my 2 nights of parking, but it would've been nice to have the opportunity to pay by credit card or at least forewarning that only cash is accepted at the gate.
I like that this is a pretty consistent hotel. I've stayed in Doubletrees all over the country and the staff is always friendly, the beds are typically very comfortable and the rooms etc. are always clean. I don't think that customers staying in the hotel should have to pay for parking. It is outrageous to have to make that extra payment when you're already paying a pretty good amount to stay there. Also, it wouldn't hurt to have affordable food in the restaurant. Since you don't have a free breakfast, at least make it affordable.
The only reason I was at this hotel is because I missed my connection and was rebooked to leave very early the next morning. The airline did not cover the cost of the stay so I had a choice and picked the Doubletree. From booking to check out the stay was a disaster. The shuttle took over 30 minutes because no one at the hotel notified him people were waiting. Upon check in at 11:30 pm I asked for a 4 am wake up call. I confirmed it before I went to my room. At this point, my phone is completely dead, it wouldn't even turn on. I literally plugged it in and fell into bed. The wake up call never came, but thankfully, due to a a leaky faucet that dripped all night long, I never fell deeply asleep and happened to check my watch at 4:18 am. I got ready and went to the lobby to get coffee, which was supposed to be there 24/7 according to the person who checked me in-- nope, coffee service doesn't start until 6:00 am, a change was made last week. If you are stuck at Newark and are looking for a place ro stay, go somewhere else!

Perfect hotel stay. Everything was lovely from the pool, to our hotel room, to the staff. They even welcome you with hot cookies! The best part is the Hilton Double tree is inexpensive :)
Value, and great view inside from inside balcony Got off elevator and looked for room. Sign said rooms 501-527 left and 529-549 right. My room was 528. Figure that out. It was around 2 corners, but room was great in the end.
