Quick and friendly
Breakfast was a little chaotic. Too few Staff, not enough tables at busy times
Clean and staff excellent
It took an hour and a half for spare pillows to be brought to the room and given I am 38 weeks pregnant this wasn’t the best customer service
The room was incredibly small. We could not find a spot for our suitcases. The room overlooked garbage cans and the view was awful I feel we did not get what we paid for. Not a good value and we would not stay there again.
Staff were very attentive, all around. Communicating via text made things even easier to make requests. Note that you need to request the turndown service which I highly recommend (the truffles were amazing!). Breakfast was absolutely amazing.
Had to request the turn down service. Gym left a bit to be desired (no dumb bells, even just the lower weights.) In terms of 5* stays, the rooms were needing some refurbishment.
The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian was built in 1903. It’s located in the capital of Scotland and is as regal as guests will expect it to be. The hotel is iconic and has views of the famous Edinburgh Castle from many of the rooms.
There are 241 rooms in this large hotel. There are many different kinds of rooms to choose from that range from luxury suites to deluxe rooms to premium rooms. There are a couple of suites that are different from the rest and have unique features, the Alexander Graham Bell Suite and the Caledonian Suite. All rooms have free WiFi, plush robes, and slippers. There are TVs and coffeemakers, too. The rooms are different sizes but all have spacious interiors.
The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian has different options for dining. There’s Galvin Brasserie De Luxe for French cuisine. The Pompadour is an elegant restaurant that serves locally inspired dishes with views of Edinburgh Castle. There’s also Peacock Alley which has great breakfast. It’s a more casual choice for dining. The hotel also has The Caley Bar and a breakfast that is served in the Brasserie on the first floor.
This hotel has a spa contained within the property. There is also golfing in the area, in the country where the sport began. The hotel has an exercise room, an indoor heated pool, a hot tub, a sauna, and a steam room. Guests will, of course, be very conveniently located right across from Edinburgh Castle. There are many museums and galleries to visit. Other attractions include The Royal Botanic Gardens, the Palace of Holyrood House, The Royal Mile, and St. Giles’ Cathedral.
The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian has the greatest number of rooms with views overlooking Edinburgh Castle. The amenities of the hotel are all high quality and there are plenty of dining options right on-site. It’s perfect for business or leisure travelers.
