hospitable, pleasant restaurant, favourable location (close to railway station, easy to reach from motorway, easy car parking).
The hotel staff was very nice. There were spiderweb on the ceiling lights and the shower head attachment was broke.
Well placed on the main road in and out of town. Good parking in rear with beer garden for summer nights. Excellent food and good value with plenty to eat, sometimes too much. The house wine was very good and the service was friendly and most helpful. The room was quite large and airy and the beds comfortable. The only dissapointments were, no Lift/Elevator and the narrow winding staircase up 2 floors was a bit of a drag for us of a mature age. Also no tea/coffee making equipment in the room.
very nice that booking over internet was waiting for me at the reception! I slept in two hotels in Germany. All beds are too soft and some are noisy. In Emmerich room temperature should be slightly higer (about 1-2C).
Friendly staff. Good breakfast Room was freezing cold, I came at 23:30 and heating was off and window open. Impossible to take a shower at that temperature when I arrived. I had to turn the heating on myself, which was hardly working in the morning. Very very uncomfortable. All else was OK
location no english spoken,my belongings were removed from my room and only one item returned,no compensation and i was overcharged for my stay
Access to room was a little diffoicult, being via winding stairs and narrow corridors
Service was good, breakfast too, friendly personnel
Personal service and nice rooms
The personal service, the utilities and the quality of internet conection May be a wireless conection instead of cable internet conection
Helpful owners directed us to excellent restaurant. Relaxed homely atmosphere. Great shower and bathroom with good accessories. A bit too much sound transmission from the hall way into the room.
Hotel staff (owners) made us feel as if we are visiting a relative. They are so kind and make as much as they can to make you feel more comfortable. The rooms are clean and cozy. Breakfast was the best I have ever had in Europe.
The very warm welcome and the help we have been provided with. The breakfast was super. The room was very clean and very nice arranged, to feel directly at home. They even had put into the baby bed some nice booklets and a music toy . There is nothing what I can put in.
Great place to stay. Quiet and peacful. recommended
fresh & new hotel
very pleasant could do with tea making equipment in rooms
location, calm, facilities/services
Nice hotel, staff was very fiendly. Good location for exploring the area.
great breakfast further from NRN (Weeze airport) than expected -- 30 minute drive
Quiet rooms and comfortable beds No coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms
Nice staff, nice restaurant, nice place to be, very good value...
The food in the restaurant was surprisingly good. Real gourmet based on local ingredients. It's in the middle of knowhere.
Good hotel, clean rooms, no city noise.
Amazing restaurant food and great customer service
Modern, clean, hotel in a superb riverside location. Small, old, walled town close by.
Nice Rhein river views. Smart rooms and friendly staff. Very nice town (Rees), where you can find many sport and relax activities (hiking, bycicle paths and routes, some amusement park in the sourroundings for kids). Very clean and nice hotel. Being an international hotel, courtains or shuts to close the light in the windows would be nice. The sun rises at 05:15 am, so you can´t go on sleeping from that on. For breakfast, much more fruit would be needed. No international tv channels available.
Nice, clean and comfortable hotel. Good breakfast in the restaurant looking out over the river Rhine. Helpfull staff.
The rate Internet rate
Great location, nice staff, good food. internet was working poorly, but the staff was very helpful and promised they would take care of it.
Sat on the sunny verandah and watched the boats on the Rhine No
The setting the soft,unsupporting beds
Value for money = ****** Eu smokingpolicy not implementet
quiet, nice village, location 30 minutes from dusseldorf . exallent brakfast!! loved the classic german brakfast. poor internet reception. could get it only at the reception floor. very good hotel resturant- full with locals all the time. internet reception. no dry cleaning/laundery service.
Location was ok Car Parking.
Nice location, ideal most for winter time, it travels you in another century there is was not air condition in the room at the temperature was more than 37C
It is a wonderful location, being at a castle with some ancient history. next time I would like to see the exibition of paintings and the library. I had a nice room with modern facilities Can't think of anything....
Wonderful!! We had such a great time. Good bathrooms and beds. You can walk in the gardens (free) and the car is on a private parking space. Don't forget to have a guided tour in the castle, which has a great collection of art (not free of admission). Nothing at all, we just loved to stay in the castle
We have been trying to trace the castle where my father drowned and we thought it could be Anholt. All the staff were most heplful, Dr van Krugten from the museum, organised a private tour for us and phoned several people to gather information. One of the older men from the village visited us to see if he could help and the hotel lent us an english speaking waitress to interpret for us. Anholt Castle is a beautifully kept hotel in a lovely setting Maybe the restaurant is a little on the expensive side!
wonderful atmosphere nothing
Beautiful, romantic, warm and welcoming. A stylish, luxury hotel in a fantastic setting. no
This castle was amazing! The staff went out of their way to take care of our every need. Fresh flowers in the room and bathroom, fresh fruit, pastries waiting for us. There was a small mix up regarding the price of the room but it was totally our fault, yet they gave us free champagne to make up for our mistake. We got the package stay and instead of just picking our four courses for us, we got to choose any four courses from the menu and the food was so amazing! We definately want to go back as soon as the weather is better so we can check our their massive gardens. I just can't say enough about this hotel!
Friendly staff, meals (breakfast and dinner); nice and quiet place (at the time we were there)
Good and friemdly Service. No bath room exhaust fan. Leaking shower. Poor quality hot water for shower.
We expected one hotel room, but we got a whole appartment with two bedrooms, a kitchen area and very large toilet/shower/ wash basin room. My son and I now each had our own room. Quite a strong smoking air, even some ash on the kitchen floor. Stumbling noises at 2 in the night of other guest, maybe because of fair 'kirmis' in neigbouring town.
Small and nice family run hotel in the quiet village of Isselburg-Werth, not far from the towns of Bochum, Borken, Emmerich, Kleve and Munster. The hotel has a very nice winter garden and terrace on the Issel river. Clean and comfortable room and bathroom (shower/toilet). Also appartments available (p.e. for families). Very good breakfast buffet for only Eur 5 per person (not included in room rate). For golf players ... within radius of about 30-40 car minutes you will find more then10 golf courses.
Friendliness of staff and quality of food N/A
Although short stay very nice hotel and friendly staff
We had a reservation for a 'family room' which turned out to be an 2-bedroom apartment with an ante-room and a spacious bathroom. Excellent! The setting of the hotel is very nice, straddling the river Issel - our rooms were on the other side of the river, so in the morning we had to take a lovely little footbridge across the Issel. I guess that this can be unpleasant if the weather is foul... The children loved the 'fish TV' in the breakfast room.
Room was spacious and well laid out. Would have been nice to have a hair dryer. Need a plug bar to handle simultaneous charging of cell phone, computer, and other devices.
The staff was very friendly and helpful at this quaint hotel. It is a beautiful place in a small German boarder town to the Netherlands. Good value for money. Lots of walking trails around to explore close to Rhine region.
nice staff, clean rooms, comfortable, good value for the money
Excellent services from the staff
The welcome, room and food were excellent
Breakfast was very good, plenty of it both as buffet or staff bringing extras to the table. very nice room. The bedrooms were very nice, clean and warm. We had to arrive late and they were very heplful - greatly appreciated.
The hotel was very clean. The staff was very friendly. An excellent and ample breakfast was served each morning.
I was made to feel very welcome. Charming hotel
Warm welcome by friendly people. Clean (bath)room. Tastefull breakfast. A bit of noise from the street in front.
very polite staff, good value, excellent food problems with hot water in the morning and shower was almost cold
Nice large room, friendly staf and WiFI
excellent, made me feel very welcome. I would stay there again.
Very friendly & helpful staff. Excellent food in a very well run family hotel.
Easy access with good car parking. Very quiet and relaxing and although the facilities were basic it was all we required. The beds were comfortable and the en-suite excellent. Very friendly staff. Would use again if in the area. Only that it would have been nice to have been able to make a hot drink when we arrived. There was a drinks machine which was costly for what it provided. Just a kettle would have been very nice.
Quiet environment with beautiful parc around the Schloss; sitting on the porch overlooking the parc; good breakfast; self service of drinks. Availability of a very restricted number of evening meals of intermediate quality.
The hotel looks inside like a youth hostel or hospital. Not a pleasant atmosphere. But OK for one night.
absolute stunning premises & garden - super peaceful & quiet off the road; big room & modern shower/toilet - nice breakfast included
