Pros: This is our home when we come to surf in Ericeira. I highly recommend this cozy hostel for everyone. The hosts Claudia and Arthur are the kindest people that are always ready to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The hostel is beautifully decorated, always extremely clean and private rooms have a view to the ocean. The beds are crazy comfy! Breakfast is great too! We keep coming back for a reason ;)

Pros: You get to meet people very easily. The hostel itself is very quiet and laid-back. Indeed the breakfast is unique. A beach-bus runs along the coast so the access to other beaches is well-reachable, too.

Pros: Beds were very comfortable, blinds on capsule provide privacy. Staff were very helpful sorting out surfing lessons etc.

Pros: The greatest place to stay! Very clean, spazious and good position right in the center of Ericeira. Magdalena is niciest person and she is very helpfull. Breakfast is great as well!

Pros: The hostel, the people staying there, and especially our host Magdalena, have been a dream! She created a family like atmosphere literally from the first second, was super motivated to give us all the tips about the area, Fulfill all our wishes, went out with us and just felt like an old friend. The hostel is super cute, really clean and a 5 min walk to the beach, shops, cafes, the nightlife area - couldn’t be any better. Also, the food at the Café is a dream - you get a 20% discount as a staying guest. Thank you so much!!

Pros: Beds and sleeping arrangements were exceptional, super clean and tidy facilities. Great staff aswell! Super friendly and helpful, willing to share some local knowledge and make sure your stay in Ericeira will be a worth while experience. Only downside was there’s no proper kitchen to cook your own food. Also no common room so you occasionally just walk past the other guests. Still an amazing place to stay, would recommend if you are looking for a laid back and chill hostel, shared with like minded people.

Pros: Very personal and warm welcome from Magdalena (host). A few days prior to our arrival she checked with us if we had all the information we needed for our arrival. The house is extremely clean, pretty and minimalistic design. The beds are huge and comfortable. We stayed in the two person bed, but it felt like a three person bed, amazing. There is a small rooftop where you can sit if you want to chill outside. Magdalena is such a nice person and made us feel at home.

Cons: You can't cook but there are enough (seafood) restaurants nearby. It can be a bit warm in the pod, so it is better to leave the curtains open to let the air in.

Pros: High tech and modern, capsules has 2 USB plugs and 2 normal plugs, and a shelf that fits all your items you need for the night. I really liked that the lockers easiy fit all your luggage, and I have a lot. Everythig is spotless clean, and the capsules really become like a tiny private room. Unfortunately it got sweltering hot in there, which probably was because of 1 of 11 room mates 'closing fobia' no need to shut all windows, shutters and doors in the middle of the summer, when you can shut your own capsule!!! The location is superb.

Cons: Thereare no common rooms at all just capsules, bathrooms ad a tiny 'kitchen' where you can put your drinks in the fridge and boil water for coffe, tea or noodles. Check in is at 15.00 sharp, and I doubt you can store luggage as I didn't see space for it anywhere. The restaurant is extreemly expensive, but there are plenty of cheaper choices nearby.there is an outdoor rooftop sitting area, but you can't smoke there, so it was constantly empty.

Pros: Great hosts and very interesting design. All the facilities were clean and comfortable!

Pros: The place was clean and tidy, the hostess was lovely, the beds were clean. I was supplied with a lock, a map, etc. I really liked the “curtain” around the bed so that I could have my own, private space. There was free fruit, tea and coffee in the kitchen.

Cons: It was a little bit tricky to find the entrance, as google maps lead me to a cafe with the same name where I had to wait quite a long time for the hostess to pick me up and take me around the corner to the hostel.

Pros: I had a great time at the GiG Capsule. The bed was very comfortable, the place was very clean and both Magdalena and Isabella were so kind and helpful. Magdalena helped me arrange surf lessons with a great local school and she is always there when you need help. I am definitely coming back- one of the best stays at a hostel and the food is really healthy too!

Pros: Just arrived back from a fabulous time at Laneez as part of my birthday celebrations. The house is amazing - modern, exceptionally clean and cozy, with chilled vibes and wonderful views! Everyone is welcoming and friendly from the owners, staff and the people we met staying there. Multiple surf lessons for all levels were organised daily, with transport to and from the beach, wetsuits, boots and boards included. All the surf instructors were fantastic and we really progressed during our week’s stay. The house is situated a few minutes walk from Ericeira centre and the beach, where you will find lots of lovely little cafe’s, bars and restaurants - didn’t have a bad meal at any of them. We absolutely loved it here and one of the best surf holidays we have ever had - will definitely be going back again!

Pros: Initially booked for 3 nights, extended for another 4, and then for another 3. Would have stayed longer if possible. Felt in love with this home, the people I met there, and Portugal. I plan to got back someday.

Pros: Laneez is a family away from your family! It’s everything you need during your holidays: friends, fun, great facilities, superb staff,great breakfast and clean! Also best surf instructors : they really care about your learning, they’re knowledgeable, professional and funny. Awesome place!

Pros: Really beautiful house to stay in. The dorm room was spacious and beds were comfy. The lounge and balcony area for relaxing on are amazing with great views. Kitchen had everything you needed too.

Cons: If you want a quiet stay with a peaceful place to hang out and read a book this is the place. If you want a social place where you’ll meet lots of people then I’d look for somewhere else.

Pros: Goofing around on the balance training board in the living room overlooking the ocean together with like-minded people was fun.

The rooms and common areas are extremely clean and comfortable also. The surfing lessons they run from the house are so much fun and the instructors are awesome! This is such a perfect place to come and chill, surf and meet some great people We will definitely be back!

Pros: The staff at Laneez welcome you as friends and invite you into their beautiful home. Amazing views, amazing breakfast, loved the vibe. The surf instructors are super Professional and always put safety and quality first. Our young daughters had an amazing time learning to surf. The rooms were cleaned beautifully every day, and we felt very relaxed and inspired staying at this wonderful surf house. Book it now!

Cons: My only regret is that we didn't book a longer stay, and we didn't get to experience BBQ and sunset drinks on the balcony. Other than that, we have no compaints.

Pros: I have lived in many hostels around the world over the years but Laneez sure is one of the best I’ve stayed at. Normally I am super sceptical about hostels with big dorms but somehow in Laneez you didn’t even realise you are sharing your room with 9other people. The location over the beach is absolutely stunning, and the outdoor patio area was so lush. It is nice and tidy and quiet. Moreover, I slept better than I remember ever having slept in a dorm. Lovely people seem to find their way to this super pretty hostel and no wonder! Certainly coming back in the future.

Pros: The View was amazing and the staff really nice. The BBQ was also a highlight!:)) We had the suite with the best view. You really can see the ocean from your bed, but unfortunately the balcony is in front where everyone is passing by.. so for the sleep we closed the curtains, which was sad cause of the view. and there was just one bedroom for three rooms (6persons).. In the kitchen is no stove or oven you can use. so you cant cook for yourself.. but there is a fridge and a space for you to put some snacks. and the restaurants in ericeira are really nice. the breakfast in the surfhouse is good and tasty. there are places to wash your wetsuits, dry, put your boards and everything you need. and there is a lot of space to chill and all places are really nice and comfy! we felt really good and the atmosphere and the people were really nice! we can recommend this surfhouse!!:))

Pros: So clean, so beautiful, so cozy, the breakfast is great, the organized dinners are wonderful... I could go on and on. There are very few hostels I've stayed in that have a vibe as great as Chill Inn. The staff work hard to make everyone feel like family! Before even leaving I booked another week here for the end of my trip.

Pros: Everything was perfect. The rooms are super clean and nice. The surfing lessons are great. If you go there, order a massage, a must. The view from the chill in is incredible. Ocean everywhere.

Pros: Great place ! If I go again to Ericeira I will definitely stay at "You and the Sea". It is located some 15 min from center of the city where among other there are supermarkets. In the apartment def you have everything you need (well equipped kitchen, washing machines (dishes/clothes), coffee machine, iron/ironing desk etc etc. The gym is small but clean, modern, air conditioned. Usually a bit full in the morning, but after the breakfast is pretty quiet so you can do your training. For the heavy bag there is one pair of gloves, though I would recommend having your own if you plan to do extensive/power punching. Stuff is great and very helpful. I would like to use this opportunity to say great thanks to Andre P, one of the guys in the reception desk: I was unlucky to end up in situation to need ambulance - I called Andre and explained what and why I need. Andre called ambulance, explained everything and was waiting with me till ambulance arrived. He was calmed, understanding and very helpful. Once more great thanks to him and Pedro (Andre's boss I guess) for helping in these moments, but also to all others from the stuff for the great stay ! Also in the hotel there's good restaurant, just couple minutes away from your room. I recommend to try the pizzas and the hamburger as well :). And also there is one salad with watermelon, cheese etc which is worth to try :)

Cons: - I would say that the pool is a bit small so I didn't use it at all - Some of the kids in the restaurant need a bit more training. Not that they are not polite and helpful, but they just need to know more about the food they are serving. Others are quite Ok.

Pros: Great facilities with pool, restaurant, gym. Very nice and big rooms/apartments. Close to the city (only 10 min walk). Many activities to choose from!

Cons: A lot of kids in the pool, very loud. The “balcony” was more a patio on the ground floor by the road, not so nice to hang out on.

Pros: This is a very cool and fun vibes hotel just a tiny walk from a big sandy beach. It’s great for families, honestly I was surprised how well it catered to kids for being a cool place for young hip travelers and locals too. The lawn overlooking the sea was a hot spot connected to the pool and restaurant. Great cocktails, good food. They were just ramping up staff for summer and some were newbies (June 2019).

Cons: Some new staff made it challenging and they never really tried to make up for mistakes but still great. Pool is covered so the space does get hot. They resist giving enough keys, not clear why. We had 9 people in one place, 7 adults, and they gave us 5. Not big deals! Go, chill out, it’s beautiful.

Pros: Accommodation and service was first class. We stayed in a 4 bedroom apartment, which was really modern, had everything you could need. Found lovely restaurants in town, and used the Beach Bus to get to nearby surfing beaches. Would definitely return, but would hire a car next time, just to get to more of the beaches along the beautiful coastline.

Pros: The large apartment including the huge terrace with sea view. Walking distance to the town. Nice pool area and a gym.

Pros: Lovely, personal welcome by Maria and her son Eduardo (I hope I have the names right). A very quaint, charming place to stay. Perhaps better suited for vacationers than for working people, as there was no desk in the room, but it is a very nice change from business hotels too.

He was also easy to reach via whatsapp or just by stopping by the lounge area of the guest house. Also, the breakfast was amazing with for instance bread and pastries from a bakery and coffee served to the table. The room also exceeded our expectations. Will definitely stay here again when in Ericeira.

Pros: Really enjoyed our stay at Capitao. We stayed 4 nights and Eduardo was a terrific host. The room was very comfortable and right in the town centre. Superb breakfast each morning, with fresh bread and cakes from the local bakery. Eduardo gave us some great restaurant tips for the town too. Highly recommended.

Pros: The main point about this lovely little hostel is the atmosphere - it was so friendly and welcoming! Isobel (owner) and Laura (employee) were lovely, helpful and made the place feel so relaxed. Our room was clean, the beds comfortable and we had a balcony which was a great little extra. The breaky was also good with warm crusty rolls and a choice of continental bits. The location is just out of the centre but still an easy walk and just across from a surf beach. All in all, it was a great place to stay!

Pros: It was an amazing stay! Isabell was such a friendly and helpful person. Only after few hours you felt like at home. Everything was really clean, cute and made with love for detail. The breakfast was nice and fairly enough. In the city you can be in in few minutes by foot. The view from the terrace was pretty impressive and there was a feeling to stay there for a long time and just enjoy. There is a lot opportunities to surf, but Isabell know the best one and the teacher was really nice. Thank you Isabell, I will come back fore sure! :)

Pros: This is really a place where you can unwind. The decor is beautiful and calming and the room we stayed in was spacious with a very comfortable bed, a lovely bathroom and a great view. There is a good size kitchen where you can cook if you want to, a comfortable lounge with TV and a lovely sunny terrace facing the ocean. A very good breakfast with a choice of delicious home made jams is served every day. The owner ,Isabelle, is absolutely delightful and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and cared for without ever being intrusive. The young people who help out are also extremely pleasant and helpful. We will definitely return soon.

Cons: There is nothing we didn't like about the place. Air conditioning might be needed in very hot weather but we managed to keep the room relatively cool by closing locking shutters and leaving French windows opened.

Pros: Isabel was great and super helpful! My boyfriend was feeling sick so I cooked breakfast for the two of us and she helped even though breakfast wasn’t included in our room rate. She made us feel so at home and there is definitely pride of ownership in the place!!

Pros: Olive3 is really well set up. The location is perfect, just on the edge of the heart of town. The communal areas are big and yet the space feels familiar. There are fruit trees on the grounds and gorgeous smell of lavender and sage in the air. It’s clean and well looked after. But the best thing is Josh, the Texan who works there alongside the owners. He’s got such a good vibe, a big heart and a lot of local knowledge. He was taking guests surfing every day, looking out for them, sharing stories and generally making sure people were having a good time, but without being intense or formal about it. Such an added value. Definitely stay here if you’re in Ericeira, you won’t regret it!

Cons: Nothing to report here. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hostels around the world. This is a good one :) It deserves the reputation it’s earned.

Pros: The vibe is super family! Really cool garden and communal areas! The location is amazing too. We had a mix up with the bookings and the hostel upgraded me and my friends which was super nice.

Cons: There seemed to be a slight miscommunication between the workers which lead to some confusion and also missed surf lessons. But that could have been a once off. This still didn’t take away from the amazing stay. I’d just double check everything is booked and ready to go!

Pros: This is such a wonderful place! The owner is one of the loveliest and most helpful people I have ever met in a hotel/apartment, we felt so welcome and at home in her house. She was always there to help us with questions on traveling and our booking. The house itself is very new and clean and the rooms are decorated so tastefully and cozy (we lived in the sardines-room which was amazing!). The breakfast was great-there were many things to chose from, the location was perfectly calm and in the middle of nature (perfect if you travel by car) and there was even a swimming pool. We would absolutely recommend this place, it is one of the best places I have stayed.

Pros: The lady in charge (the owner maybe?) was very nice and thoughtful when it came to making sure everything was in accordance to our expectations and if we needed anything at all. Breakfast was excellent and the house was well located in a quiet area where one could well relax.

Cons: We were given a room at the back, the only one without a view, because we had booked on Booking.com. The bed was fine but we felt like second class citizens. It mattered to us as we had an afternoon to spend there and would have enjoyed looking out at more than a wall. We also did not like all the lace doilies and net curtains but that is just personal style.

Pros: All perfect. We were very surprised by the nice house and the pool. The room was wonderful, silent and romantic. Our host was very patient and friendly at giving us suggestions for restaurants.

Pros: Villa Ana Margarida is an amazing place to stay. The hotel gives so much attention to details, everything is cute and colorful in a nice and non-kitschy way - e.g. the reception desk is made of suitcases, the breakfast tables and chairs are probably hand painted - it is just gorgeous. Of course there is a lot of space, everything is absolutely clean and the breakfast is superb (no buffet, a selection of portugals best qualities and very good coffee). Ericeira is bursting with a cool vibe, awesome and up-to-date restaurants, bars and shops, and a very cool kind of people (locals as well as tourists). The hotel is situated in the middle of the centre of where everything is going on - virtually the best spot you could imagine. It is small (10 rooms), not expensive and totally loveable. When we go to Ericeira again, we won't go anywhere else.

Pros: Very relaxed boutique hotel. Exceptionally clean. Great location. Very friendly staff. Unique decor.

Cons: The bedroom was a small. OK for a few days but a little uncomfortable for a week or more. The breakfast was a bit limited. No eggs available until after 10am.

Pros: Liked the room, the cleaness, the design and being near the Pescadores beach.

Cons: The noise was terrible. Saturday to Sunday was a nightmare! There is a bar under the hotel, the noise felt like we were inside the bar!

Pros: staff were outstanding - welcoming, friendly and charming. Very comfortable beds. Perfect location for exploring town. Unusual marine-themed decor. Spiral staircase to roof terrace. Excellent food in Brunchme café including the delicious breakfasts.

Cons: TOILET IN BEDROOM with no division! Who can possibly have thought that was a good idea. Pillows too firm unlike the mattress which was fabulous.

Pros: Simply superb. Very well designed, a modern boutique hotel with loads of marine-themed decorations. You feel you are on the coast, if you were in doubt. It's literally 3mins walk from the ocean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Absolute cleanliness. 10/10

Cons: Nothing really. The only thing was the distance from the closest (free) car parking to the hotel, if you happen to have a heavy wheelie bag it might be a challenge. Not a major issue though, just bear this in mind.

Pros: Excellent situation. Cristina is ready any time for help and a great host ! Room furniture well adapted (suite), with a nice furnace, and with very comfortable bed. Nice view to the fields and hills, lots of well laid out space and places around the house. Good breakfast with lots of fruits. We fully enjoyed our stay of 10 days at this place ! From there we could do plenty of excursions, being close to the sea and close to the countryside, which was perfect for us.

Cons: Would be nice to have more options to hang towels/wash-clothes in the bath-room.

Pros: Perfect guesthouse to discover the surroundings. Very nice host and friendly animals around. Would have loved to stay longer.

Pros: We were with our baby and Cristina, the host, helped us to feel better than at home. The house facilites are very convenient, we could Cook our own food, and the homemade breakfast was complete and delicious. The garden, swimmingoool área and the animals, dogs and cats made our stay very pleseant.

Pros: Anna and her team are the friendliest, most helpful and hospitable people I've met in ANY type of accommodation (hostel, hotel, apartment, etc.) The location is beautiful - literally a 5 minute walk to the beach, centre of town, amazing restaurants or bars. There are other beaches to surf at within a 30min walk or 5min drive. The actual hostel is super clean and comfortable, and makes you feel relaxed and at home. I can't recommend it any more highly!

Pros: Charming and comfortable family run place, that really made me feel home. The staff are generous and the continental breakfast was very nice. The loaction is beautiful, there's a nice local bar next door and you can hear the ocean roar:)

Pros: This is a cute little place that feels more like home than a hostel. Ana is fun and knows about good food, her mother is lovely, and Sao and Kura their doggies are the best! There are surfboards and a bicycle with surfboard rack, nice detail. You can also get a free welcome drink at a popular bar to start your night. Great location next to a bar and a minute from the beach and the plaza. Ana is a great host and will share with you all about the town. Ericeira is a lovely place to visit and surf.

Cons: no security lockers, but it feels like a safe place.

Pros: Fishermans is a quaint little hostel in a quaint little town. Here you find peace and quiet very close to Lisbon. Upon entry you walk into the common area where the kitchen, living room and two of the bathrooms are located ( as well as surfboard & bike storage and rental), walking upstairs you will get your dose of Art and see some quirky chotskies. The rooms have a sense of home and the bathrooms are clean, modern and convenient. A place to return to for sure.

Pros: Dream location! This place is right in the middle of Ericeira village, one road cross from the beach and just next to one of the most lively and oldest bar in town. The hostel is very comfortable and clean, plus it has such a cool decoration/atmosphere! The best part though, is the people running the place, Ana and her mom will be sure to make your stay a fun time. They were always happy to help with anything, telling me the best places to go and organising surf trips, etc. I loved my stay and I hope I can come back soon to this little paradise.

Cons: It gets hot at night in the rooms, some cross-ventilation would be great, maybe have a grill in the wall to the cool corridor/ hallway ? Stove needs repairing or replacing.

Pros: We weren't sure about not staying in the centre of ericeira, but it only looks like that on a map. 3min walking and you're in the middle of all the bars, shops and restaurants. Also there's a great bakery right next to the hotel that supposedly was awarded as the best bakery in the Lisbon area. The highlight of this place though is the view that all the rooms, kitchen and living room have. Highly recommend it.

Pros: The location of the beach house, it is not just the views from the rooms. Everything you need is so close by, from restaurants, the bakery, shopping centre to everything being in walking distance. Enough about the house; João and his team were WONDERFUL and also a big part of my decision to extend my stay two times. Think that says it all, so please keep it up like this! Am definitely coming back on my next trip!!

Very friendly organized staff made our stay easy. We'll be recommending Blue Buddha to our friends.

Pros: Great room view. Easy to communicate with the staff, close to the bus terminal (max 2-3 min) and to the beach. Walking distance to the beaches, but there is also a beach bus that will take you to each beach ( from Lizandro to Ribeira, it departs from the bus terminal). We had a shared bathroom which was almost always free because there is also another bathroom downstairs. Lovely people staying at the beach house. The rooms are cleaned every day and the beds are comfortable and quiet. The location is great, near the center where you will find the best dishes for a nice evening. Also great places for brunch also. I will definitely come back to Ericeira and this cozy and nice beach house! Highly recommend this place

Pros: The most warm hosts. Beautiful spacious and clean house & rooms in a quiet and calm neighbourhood still close to S. Julião and Foz do Lizandro beaches. Delicious breakfast with fresh fruits, boiled egg, bread, ham, cheese, yogurt, cerials, juice, coffee&tea. Don't forget a car though. Easy parking. We were truly spoiled here.

Cons: The only thing I could have needed more was a full body mirror.

Pros: We had such an amazing time! Monica and Klaas are the nicest people. The breakfast was very delicious and the house is warm and welcoming. Especially with my son (9years) we had a brilliant time at Tres Bandeiras!

Pros: Monica and her husband were so wonderful - warm, welcoming and really helpful whenever we had questions about what to do and how. You can tell Monica genuinely enjoys looking after people. The breakfast was delicious and with great views. Great facilities including somewhere to hang wet swimming costumes and towels, several different outdoor areas/balconies to sit on. We liked the decor in the main living area.

Cons: We were very happy. We had a car so could drive everywhere which was very helpful in this location.

Pros: I really loved everything about the hostel: its rooms, its geographical situation, its facilities and most of all its people. The staff and the owners were incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to help. They really made me feel at home. The surf lessons were fun and there is also the possibility to rent a wetsuit, a board and a bike to go hit the waves on your own. There is a supermarket 5 minutes away and the town centre is a mere 2 minutes walk from the hostel. Thank you for everything! I can't wait to be back!

Cons: The house is very cold. The check out is at 11.30 and afterwards you are not longer allowed to leave your luggage there. That information should be given in advance so that people are able to plan as it is absolutely not common that it is forbidden to stay in the premises and leave the luggage until the evening.

Pros: Very cute place with everything you need, comfy big bed, impeccably clean, easy check-in and very centrally located. The shared bathroom is not an issue as it is shared with just a few people.

Pros: The location is brilliant. An easy walk across the street to a number of beaches and the village with a huge amount of delicious restaurants to choose from. A very private feeling house share, we didn’t see or have much noise from the other rooms. The shared lounge and kitchen are very clean, modern and well equipped! Only downfall was there was no complimentary tea but a lovely coffee machine.
