10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was very clean, comfortable, quiet, cool and warm enough (whichever we wanted). Lovely bathroom, in particular the shower was a treat. All linen and towels were changed regularly during our 5 night stay. The food was good too. Well cooked breakfasts, not greasy at all. Good choice of cooked food as well as items like cereal, toast, fruit and yoghurt. We had dinner there 3 nights and enjoyed the food. The staff were always helpful and friendly, making us feel welcome. Excellent location for us to tour around east anglia, I would certainly use the hotel again if I were to be in the area. Very happy with our stay.

Pros: Lovely friendly inn. My (disabled)room was excellent, the bed was better than mine at home! Apart from the toilet seat the room/bathroom was beautifully clean. Breakfast was great, served by a very smiley, happy young lady.
Cons: My room was adjacent to entrance of inn, so noisy, though it did stop just before 11pm. would not want to be staying in that room in the summer as there were patio tables/chairs right outside the room. Toilet seat wasn't clean. could hear another guests tv blasting out at 7.15am on the Sunday morning

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fab staff great food comfy room
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel, food and staff were amazing. We will definatly return.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is a wonderful, small, family run hotel (or restaurant with rooms, as the family describes it). The family can't do enough for you and are so friendly they make you feel that you are one of the family. At the price I doubt one could find anything better. My one little gripe is that even at the end of our five day stay I still couldn't properly operate the elaborate shower settings.
Cons: The main road that the hotel is situated on can be busy at times and while there was no road noise to be heard in our room (situated some distance from the road) it could be a little tricky emerging onto the road. On the other hand, the location made it easy to find the hotel on arrival.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is situated in the heart of the countryside and as such is a little remote - but that's what you are after if you book a place like this isn't it. The staff were brilliant, really friendly and helpful. Dinner is a delight and whilst not the cheapest (set menu set price) you get what you pay for and again you should know this before you book as it is sort of part of the reason for going. The rooms are spacious, clean and the bathrooms are likewise. The four poster bed room we had was excellent and the bed was huge!! Breakfast was excellent and so bountiful that we were full up and didn't have to eat until well past lunch. I can't say how impressed we were with everything about our stay. Just excellent.
Cons: Nothing to complain about really. Wi-fi is a bit up and down but put down your device and speak to those around you and you will hardly notice it. Everything else is really good although once you are there there isn't anything close by to visit, on foot, so you are there for the night. But that's why you came …..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice modern room with four-poster bed. Fantastic evening meal.

Pros: Welcoming and homely. Character cottage, well appointed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Suzanne was very welcoming. Lovely breakfast. Gorgeous old cottage. Location great for our purpose.
Cons: Our bathroom was downstairs. But that's my own fault. I just assumed when it said private bathroom that it meant an ensuite. And the 500 year old cottage creaks! But that is part of its lovely character.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was what you would expect in a bed and breakfast very good and worth the wait.
Cons: Just need to improve the signage at the entrance to the property as I nearly missed it, not very clear.

Pros: We liked the cottage style with all its winery floors and character
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything such a brilliant experience
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We were very happy with our stay, the room and bathroom, although the bathroom was downstairs which we didn`t expect, were very clean. The breakfast was very good and the nearby village was within walking distance. Susan was very helpful. Perfect for our one night stay
Cons: there was no way of locking the bedroom door from the outside and there was no hair dryer in the room. Our bathroom and toilet was downstairs next to the dining room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are very oldy worldly in decoration which add great charm to the rooms themselves, Sandra, the hostess was very kind, warm and friendly. Nothing to fault, will be going back again.
Cons: The guest house is a little off the beaten track so planning for excursions to local shops need to carried out earlier rather later as only a spar shop in villege and a handful of other pubs/coffee houses. If you stay at start of week you do need to consider travelling in order to get an evening meal as no takeaways in village.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly owner. Quirky and charming accommodation. Great breakfast

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jane & Paul from Rossendale. What a location, such a really beautiful part of the country. The B&B was lovely set in a tranquil setting with cute pubs not too far away. The Hosts Paul and Yolanda where lovely , making sure we had a spot to park as my hubby is ill/disabled and also taking the time to mention some great places to see during our stay. The room it self was a large superior room which was very clean with attention to detail and a great view on to the garden area which comprised of lawn and trees. Morning breakfast was really lovely, the hosts talked about the local produce and included those in the breakfast selection , which by the way was yummy. Overall I was very impressed I liked everything about the place, clean, good food, great hosts and a beautiful location. We'll definitely be back.
Cons: In July with the corn and wheat fields you do get flies in this location that are a bit annoying but nothing a good spider or a swotter will sort. But you are in the country side so what do you expect!.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The proprietor was rude and lacks good lacks good customer relationship
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly reception. Good price. Good breakfast.
Cons: No mobile reception in area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect breakfast with home made apple juice and three fruit marmalade. The hosts were just great. When I arrived not knowing who'd won the Test match, the host pretended that we'd lost as I watched last 18 runs of highlights, and when he heard my shout of 'Yes ! ' he came in with a bottle of beer to celebrate. Also he knocked off a couple or more pounds from the bill, so after a breakfast ended with easy conversation with other guests and host's wife, I left with a great feeling that this is a quite exemplary b and b.What more do you want!
Cons: Not a thing.
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean rooms with friendly staff

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was exceptional. Quite a small menu however very pleasing to the eye and taste. The restaurant although busy was comfortable and relaxing. A little surprise of a happy birthday plate for my husband with a couple if sweet treats was an added bonus. This is our second time off staying at the oaksmere in as little as 2 months even though we live 5 minutes down the road. The rooms have amazing facilities. We had the pleasure of staying in a suite, different one to the last time. Equally having been clean and comfortable with the modern twist to a classic feel. The staff were very attentive and extremely helpful offering to take our bags and a guided tour of our room and use of facilities. Breakfast in the morning was well organised with more facilities of making Ur own toast than last time. Will definitely return again.
Cons: Service was a little slow on drinks however after a quick reminder the staff were very apologetic and drinks arrived quickly
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Building is a quirky blend of old and new. Grill restaurant is excellent. Staff friendly. Room No.1 is large and comfortable with whirlpool bath. Some of the works of art are fantastic. 'Olde world' saloon bar. Garden terrace is a nice sun trap
Cons: Only a few little things. Ran out of both gin glasses and fizz flutes on Sat night (there was a function on). Cocktail bar was closed. Room 1 is above restaurant so a little bit of noise creeps in. Breakfast hours seem short for a country hotel - 10am close on a Sunday is too early for me!
6.7 Good
Pros: The jacuzzi bath in the room was powerful
Cons: I didn’t enjoy the food I had a tapas From the bar andI found it really bland to my sleep in the bed was uncomfortable the bed was not comfy too soft were u sank into it and woke up stiff

5.0 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfortable with enough pillows. Food was at breakfast was tasty and the dining room was clean and relaxing. The staff was friendly and helpful. Enough parking area for every guest. The shower was nice. The tv was also nice with loads of selection.
Cons: The room I stayed in was dirty, the carpet, walls, and room had stains over them. There were spiders in every corner and spider webs. The radiator didn't work and I was cold the first night. The second night a turned on a heater that was so loud I had trouble sleeping. The room I stayed in was next to a road and every time a car drove past it echoed on the hotel and directly to the window in my room. If I hadn't brought earplugs I would have had trouble sleeping. The kettle that was in the room was so dirty I couldn't force myself to boil water to have coffee even though I wanted to.
7.1 Good
Pros: We stayed for a wedding and that was amazing. The food, the atmosphere...was just lovely
Cons: We paid extra for a camp bed, we was given a mattress on the floor. Our bed swayed from side to side when you got on it and felt like it would fall apart at any minute plus we had a broken lamp on the bedside table
4.2 Okay
Pros: Most of the staff very friendly and helpful
Cons: Would not recommend for more than 2 night stay! I booked this hotel for 6 nights, because of the spa facilities & easy access to local attractions,to enable my mum to totally chill out after year of cancer treatment. The jacuzzi was out of order, the steam room & sauna dirty and often had other people’s disregard towels??? Food ok but varied in delivery & presentation due to no consistent chef and often covered with agency?! Also inconsistency as regards to morning service on 2 days cold coffee and when did margarine become butter?? Cleaning varied bedroom not hoovered for 3 days and bathroom not clean 2 days, although bins emptied & beds made daily! Hotel needs totally revamp! Head housekeeper to do checks and standards need to be consistent whether cleaning, service and food presentation. Fine for conferences & wedding as hotel appear to prioritise over other paying guests.
6.7 Good
Pros: Booked the suite - as a treat for my birthday - and were catching up with family prior to moving on to meet with a group of friends - which was great as my Niece, her husband and my Great Nephew, could relax and have a great catch up... When booking I'd already made them aware that I was gluten free and they acknowledged the fact. The room was huge, loved the Jet spa bath - it was huge... and the showers. The bar staff were great, explained about being gluten free, the chef came out and worked out with me what I could eat, even amending slightly... Spoke about breakfast and was told that they had gluten free sausage :-). Asked reception for extra towels and decaf coffee and they promptly arrived.
Cons: The bed a four poster although looked nice it was awful to sleep in.... every time you moved, the bed creaked... So didn't get a good nights sleep. The Breakfast was non existent for me - although I was told the night before there would be gluten free sausage, when we went for breakfast, which we had to pay extra for, they said they hadn't got any... I wasn't prepared to pay the price of a full breakfast when all I could have was bacon and mushrooms and gluten free toast - (which the bread is awful) I asked for extra decaf coffee, but when I tried it, it was ghastly. Didn't like the fact that one of the staff walked into the room about 30 minutes or so before check out... WiFi didn't always work...

4.6 Okay
Pros: Food was acceptable and staff were pleasant. Good parking availability
Cons: I booked an executive room so was expecting something reasonable however: There was no air con in the room and it was very hot during my August visit. There were no opening windows so I had to leave the doors to the veranda open, hoping that no one would care to join me. The shower was feeble - think cheapest electric shower from screw-fix. Staff were not ready at the breakfast start time. For those looking to get away quickly this was not ideal. I expected better of Best Western. Disappointing.
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful Rooms very spacious Wasn't happy with my room on the first night. The manager came and found me the next morning and said they had found me another room. Breakfast very good. Very enjoyable stay.
7.4 Good
Cons: I would like to have seen some information in the room on the restaurant, breakfast & dinner times & maybe a sample menu & details on checkout times. there was no guest information at all not even on the area or things to do.
6.4 Good
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff; they even offered to buy in special foods for the gluten-free diet in our group. Pleasant grounds and peaceful rural setting. Good breakfast, but some fruit would have been nice. We appreciated having ground-floor rooms and being able to park right outside.
Cons: My room was far too hot and I couldn't adjust the radiator or towel rail. The shower was also too hot to stand under, so I had to have a bath each morning. I did report this and was told a plumber was due in the day, but there was no change in temperature of heating or water afterwards. I was pleased we were allowed to bring a dog at no extra charge, but felt that having to sign a detailed disclaimer was a little over the top; it was something I'd never had to do before. It also seemed a little distasteful that a hotel of this standard should be threatening to fine guests for dog-fouling and smoking in rooms; a simple, polite reminder that these are not acceptable should suffice.
