10.0 Excellent
Pros: I do not possess the ability to start to describe this wonderful b&b. It transcended our expectations in terms of the owner, the historic essence of the property and the location. In short, we loved Anna. We loved the property We loved its location. There was nothing we could fault. Well worth the whole experience. Anyone visiting the Cotswolds would find this b&b hard to beat. Should we visit RIAT next year we will stay, room permitting, in this b&b.
Cons: Nothing, it was perfect for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband & I just spent a few days at Pytts House and we are still under the spell of this gorgeous place. There are so many attractive features; the interior of the house, where every nook & cranny has been decorated with such attention to detail; the garden, as romantic an English garden as you could ever find ! Anna (the owner of Pytts House) doesn’t spare any effort, be it in the comfort of her guests in the bedrooms or the presentation of the scrumptious breakfasts. If one had to sum up the whole place (and it’s owner) in one word, it would be charm ! Tremendous charm, beautiful in and out. We can’t wait to return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Anna, the host was amazing from start to finish. She was very accommodating with our check in request and offered to help us out if we had problems with transportation. She offered flexibility on timings for checkout and breakfast all in a welcoming and friendly manner. The place itself, an old stone house is set amongst an idyllic Cotswold village and it’s beautiful garden was a place to hang out

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The pictures don't do the house justice, it is beautifully decorated without being overwhelming and Martin and Paul manage to really make you feel at home. Breakfast is delicious and the house is full of treats: hot chocolate, biscuits, coffee, pain au chocolat and an impressive selection of spirits. Good selection of pubs for a meal out. Garden is amazing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and we wanted to stay somewhere special. The Summerhouse seemed the ideal solution and we were not disappointed. We stayed a week and felt we were staying in Blenheim Palace itself. The house and grounds are magnificent. The house is tastefully decorated with antiques and the gardens were beautifully landscaped with the pool with the water Lillys were a focal attraction. Our room upstairs was large and airy. The bed was soft and comfortable, and the en-suite was modern in appearance with a shower, sink and toilet. Breakfast again was a delight. We sat by the window overlooking the garden watching the ducks and other various birds taking their daily bath in the pool. On the day of our anniversary Martin and Paul surprised us. They have a 1968 Morris Minor Traveller who they named “Agatha”. They told us to use it for the day and they also prepared a hamper that included sandwiches, cakes, biscuits, sparkling wine (that’s for my wife, I was doing all the driving). It was so impressive that in Bourton-on-the water where we had our picnic people were stopping and taking photographs of both the picnic and “Agatha”. It was a fabulous day and we are so grateful to Martin and Paul for making it so special.
Cons: Leaving.

Pros: Everything. It was fantastic & Martin was a very gracious host. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved every minute of our stay.

The setting for this property is truly breathtaking and it feels as if you are staying in a wonderfully interesting house surrounded by gardens you would go to visit. Breakfast was a treat, seated at a panoramic window overlooking the gardens and decorative pond with a superbly presented breakfast cooked to order. Martin's attention to detail, not only in the rooms but personal service was a real treat, truly wonderful.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely pub stay for us and our dog. Friendly staff, comfy room, delicious breakfast and a perfect Cotswolds location. There were swifts overhead while we sat out in the afternoon and bats flitting by at night. The food on offer for dinner was lovely as well and the chef stopped to chat about his local fruit and veg suppliers when we asked, they obviously care about their food!
Cons: There is an airbase a few miles away so we heard one plane go over in the night. Otherwise entirely peaceful.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was extra as we were staying in the cottage. We did pay and it was reasonable.
Cons: There was no welcome pack like coffee, tea, milk and biscuits. The teatowel had a massive hole in it.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: We had the best room in the place and everything was organised and clean. The owner cooked us a wonderful breakfast. Its in a small village out of the busy Cotswold towns so nice and quiet. Would recommend.
Cons: The only negative was maybe the dip in the matress of our room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for two nights (before and after a local wedding) and wish it could have been longer. All of the staff were friendly and incredibly hospitable. Our room was lovely, well provisioned, and spotlessly clean too. We had a superb dinner in the restaurant and two wonderful breakfasts. The surrounding area is beautiful too and we really enjoyed the walk/run to Bibury one morning.
Cons: Our only recommendation would be for the guest information book to include a few more local taxi numbers, especially those who will do late night wedding pick-ups. There was a helpful recommendation to book in advance, but we tried all three numbers and were advised that they didn't work that late (1am) on Thursdays!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious and very comfy. Building is beautifully renovated and the village is quiet and beautiful. Good breakfast and nice people. I'd absolutely go back there.
Cons: We were there on Monday and Tuesday when the pub doesn't serve food.... But I'm sure we'll come back to eat next time...

Cons: Communal fridge someone took my drink.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The bed was so comfortable but the duvet was really heavy for the time of year (July, 20°c + outside), the hotel was lovely overall and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was wonderful and thy provided gluten free bread which was a real bonus. The staff were really friendly and helpful - we attended a wedding and arrived before check in, but staff gave us the key anyway so we could let ourselves in later and kept our bags safe/put them in the room for us. Many thanks!
Cons: The doors were extremely heavy and loud and we weren't able to turn off the extractor fan in the bathroom which was very disruptive at night, plus we could hear the fan in the room next to us.

Pros: Friendly helpful staff. peaceful surroundings. Absolutely beautiful hotel.
Cons: Food was nice but not excellent.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location and breakfast was good.
Cons: The evening meal was not up to standard. Service was poor, champagne not cold, main courses brought after long wait and before starters, food was not very good . We did tell the hotel and they said they would tell management but then we got standard e mail with satisfaction questionnaire so it was obvious nothing had been reported to management. We have been before and really enjoyed it but now it looks like it is existing on past reputation. Also the shower didn’t work properly and generally not up to previous standards.

Pros: Amazing piece of tranquility, gorgeous room with the softest bed and great flooding shower pressure. Could have stayed for longer!

5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location, lovely decor, cosy, simple breakfast
Cons: Room was unbearably hot being on top of the kitchen. If you’re on top of the pub it’s noisy and every word can be heard making it hard to sleep. Room service made the bed but didn’t clean the room. Owner is not very compassionate when informed saying “it’s an old building” “we’ve never had complaints before” - not a very fair approach
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff great food and comfy bed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice b&b, and such a good price. The bed was quite comfortable, the room was nicely decorated, and I liked that they had classical music playing in the room when we arrived - very nice touch. To check in you go to the bar in the pub, very quick and easy and friendly service. The bathroom is quite simple, but clean. The shower is not very practical as it has no door so you end up with water over the whole floor... It was easy to find this place, and easy to park. It's a very lovely area with lots to see. All in all, a very good find whether you are just stopping over or want to explore the Cotswolds.
Cons: Dinner in the restaurant was quite disappointing. Very chewy steak and dry toffee pudding. If you have dinner there I'd recommend the pizzas, wish I had ordered that instead as everyone else seemed to have...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a delightful shower - wonderful water pressure and provided toiletries smelled amazing. Very well decorated room. We made a dinner reservation and were quite impressed with everything we ordered. Great breakfast as well with an option to pay for hot food.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful village location off the beaten track. Restaurant and room very good. Wine excellent. I liked the breakfast arrangement and choice - ie Continental in the price and you pay for 'extras' if wanted.
Cons: Some lack of attention to detail in the bathroom - should have been spotted by cleaning staff/management.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Bell Inn is in a delightful Cotswold Village. Although the Inn is obviously very old, the rooms were modern and beautifully appointed with a very comfortable bed. Most rooms are on the ground floor and have French windows onto a small outside area. The breakfast provided is simple (though no marmalade !) but you can order from the a la carte menu for anything cooked. We also had dinner on our first night -the food here is delicious and not over-priced.
Cons: Our shower room was very small with a tiny washbasin, though the shower itself was excellent. We had to ask for a hair dryer.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The menu was superb, the presentation, quality and freshness of the food was absolutely outstanding. Rooms were clean, and the main reason we found this absolute gem is that they are dog friendly and allowed us to bring our black labrador. We will certainly be back!
Cons: Nothing!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: All very good , comfort and very good staff all round , buffet breakfast very good choice,
Cons: could hear extractor fan in bedroom, thats all,
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good continental breakfast included in the tariff with option to purchase hot food. An old pub with atmosphere with good lunch & dinner options. Rooms have recently been refurbished.

Food (dinner with friends and then breakfast) was fantastic and best of all the staff and management could not have done more or been more helpful. Great value!!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location right on the high street. Staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food was delicious, and the bar downstairs has a really nice atmosphere.
Cons: Rooms are quite small, which is to be expected in a building of this age.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very welcoming, friendly staff. Got a nice feeling about the place, despite this being just a brief stay (we were attending a wedding reception close by). Superb breakfast, and I appreciated the fact that the chef had noticed my missing sausage (I hadn't!), and had it brought out to me with her apologies :) Smallish room (which we were aware of when booking), but very comfortable and beautifully furnished / equipped. I will recommend to others - many thanks.
Cons: Very compact bathroom (though still OK to use).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything. Room, facilities, staff, food all A+. Very highly recommended.

Cons: More space for luggage
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, although we couldn't have breakfast the first morning as we had to be away early but they made us some sandwiches s owe could take them with us. Nice touch.
Cons: We weren't there that long so couldn't really sample all of the Highway Inn which was a shame, maybe next year!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was far bigger than the pictures make it look. V cosy and warm.
Cons: The road outside was soooooo noisy and we were woken up at 6 with buses and lorries trundling through. A room at the back of the building would have been preferable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely friendly staff. Free parking. Great food and service. Would definitely recommend it to others.
Cons: As usual there was limited tea coffee and milk. But we asked for more milk and got it straight away.

Cons: A warm welcome would have been appreciated. Not enough outlets in the room. A fan would have been nice.

Pros: Very comfortable bed and pillows....hard to get out of bed. Excellent full breakfast. Beautiful, quaint surroundings and many gin offerings at pub below.
Cons: Room was a little warm. No fans available.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The team were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was inviting and the food was great. The location is stunning and quiet with great access to the river and many little cotswold villages and country manors etc. Would definitely reccomend to family or friends
Cons: More vegetarian choice on main menu, although they did say ask and they'd help however they could, I just don't like to cause fuss :) Room was very warm, potentially provide a fan in warmer months?
9.5 Excellent
Pros: comfortable beds, local country pub feel, beautiful setting , friendly staff
Cons: breakfast selection a little uninspiring
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quintessentially English village pub with rooms. Fantastic food, best I’ve had when staying in a country pub. Staff were superb. Breakfast amazing, as was the cottage pie and steak and ale pie. Lovely garden and a really friendly atmosphere
Cons: Nothing.

Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Bed comfy
Cons: Pillows a bit hard but that's only our opinion
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was really good, great choice.
Cons: Because the weather was so warm it would have been perfect if bedrooms had air conditioning. Was looking forward to the lamb cutlets that we enjoyed on all our previous visits however they were not on the menu this time around. The specials didn't change much each night but can't complain food was still very good.
6.3 Good
Pros: location / staff
Cons: Noise from dining area / bar. bedroom above had thin floors. Decor dated
4.3 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was fine, the bar was quite nice. Bar staff were good & friendly. Evening meal was ok.
Cons: The room was incredibly noisy - you could pick out individual voices from the bar below our room. The room was a bit grubby - the staircarpets need a clean & windows really dirty. Overflow flotsam from the pub is outside the room - not welcoming is it ? The owner couldn't really be bothered as they had had a very busy Fathers Day. Not good enough to make me return at all - there's too many other decent pubs with rooms in the Cotswolds.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little inn run by fantastic people and in a great location
Cons: Bed was a little hard
10.0 Excellent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and comfortable. Staff in the restaurant clearly very busy but friendly. We stayed an extra night we were so impressed.
Cons: Breakfast choice a little limited. Confusion over the booking (booking.com fault) caused frustration from the manager which was clear over the phone but nothing but polite and super helpful on arrival
7.5 Good
Pros: Good breakfast and convenient location for the occasion
Cons: No toilet roll holder and better layout off en suite to include basin. but recognising it is an old building with its limitations
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, food in restaurant very good.
Cons: Parking outside the hotel could be a problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was amazing, the food great and cocktails tasty. The staff were very helpful, friendly and approachable.
Cons: I didn't say anything at the time butvwe stayed in room 19. The view from this room is a complete slated roof, nothing else. I think had this been advertised then I might've asked for another. I think people should know what they are getting for their money and in case they don't want it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The manager helped us with our luggage to our room. Staff very friendly and efficient.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Uncomfy beds very noisy security light flashing in to the room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hotel, decor was lovely and very ‘Cotswolds’. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful as we had asked to arrive early as we were attending a wedding near by and wanted to freshen up and get changed before leaving for the wedding. Breakfast in the morning was amazing with lots of choice of food and drinks. Room was comfortable with a lovely big shower.
Cons: Minor thing but we would of slept a lot better if there was blackout curtains or something more than the shutters. There was a sensor light just outside our room meaning it was on and off most of the night. Room was hot too but we were unable to open a window.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is probably one of the most interesting places I have stayed. Everything was perfect.
Cons: All great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room, food and very friendly helpful staff. Will stay there again for sure.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quaint Inn with peaceful outlook, very comfortable bed & staff very friendly and helpful
Cons: Not enough shelving in bathroom for toilet bags. A luggage rack would also be helpful
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Comfy bed and bed linen. Wonderfully peaceful at night.
Cons: Whilst the food was very good the menu wasn’t varied enough for 3 consecutive nights.
6.8 Good
Pros: Clean room . Large bed.
Cons: Did not get the room we booked for which was "River view" Rude staff . Flies in breakfast room ( many) AND in shared yoghurt bowl at breakfast time.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This Hotel is charming, such a lovely room and the location is perfect, so quiet. The room I stayed in had every comfort you would expect. spacious and comfortable, although they could do with an arm chair to relax in and enjoy the views.
Cons: The staff are very attentive, but as I had dinner with a friend, during our meal we were asked if there would be two for breakfast, which seemed odd, the meal was quite expensive and was all put on my room bill, assuming that my friend would now be staying the night, which he wasn't it was quiet embarrassing when he had to remove it from my bill and divide it between us. I had the Lamb, which was very fatty, I mentioned this and was told all lamb is fatty!
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful location; welcoming staff; delicious food
Cons: The noise from the pipes in the bedroom. Every time someone in another room ran a tap or flushed the toilet we heard the pipes running (and not quietly! - very glad no-one had a late night/early morning shower!!) Also, communication in the rooms could be better/more accurate. No mention of Wi-fi (which was free and with no log-in required, but not found for a while because no reference) and notes stated that OS maps were available to borrow from the bar - but this was not the case (although good pamphlet on local circular walks)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Luxurious. Lovely breakfast.
Cons: Big spider in room!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and friendly place in the countryside, spacious room and very well equipped Very good table.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Initial impression was overtaken by the realization that the accommodation was not in the pub, but a separate building across the road. Compact, clean and if a high standard.. Food was excellent - with a good selection of wines and local cheeses.. Garden area very welcoming in the late evening.. In short we loved our stay and would highly recommend..
Cons: Nothing..
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely rural setting by a stream and with Bantam chickens strolling through the garden - even had the Cockerel crowing and a chick trying to hop in through the open window in our room in the Stable Block. Our room was clean and spacious. Complimentary tea and coffee with a coffee-pod machine were provided but a hiccup - no milk or coffee pods but manager rectified this when mentioned. Fantastic Continental and Cooked choice at Breakfast (Eggs Benedict was lovely) and Evening Meal menu.
Cons: However, the shower was "over the bath" and a bit tricky for the less-mobile. A limited Vegetarian/Vegan choice. Not all Vegetarians eat fish, eggs etc. - some border on being Vegan, but not quite!

Pros: Beautiful and quiet.
Cons: The water pressure in our shower was very weak.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay, the staff and facilities were excellent and the location superb. It was nice to be able to choose where you wanted to eat, eg in the restaurant, the bar, the sitting rooms, the garden or your own room. Breakfast was served beautifully by very professional staff. The room was tastefully decorated and the furnishings were in keeping with the style of the inn.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Parts of the Lamb date back to the early 15th century. Originally a row of weavers' cottages. Breakfast was very good with quality produce and a good choice on the menu. Service from all the staff was of a high standard. Aioibhinn ( pronounced Ayveen ) on reception was a ray of sunshine. The gardens with seating are excellent. Even in the gardens there is waiter service. Enjoy the sun and let the food and drink come to you.
Cons: Coming away so soon. Hotel does not have it's own car park so parking close to hotel at busy times can be hit and miss. Still worth visiting. Wherever you park it is a pleasant walk to the hotel.

Pros: Comfortable, quiet hotel in the old style with excellent food, log fires and unobtrusive service.
7.7 Good
Pros: charming location, very beautiful building, exellent service
7.0 Good
Pros: Relaxing atmosphere and style was a mix of a good hotel and an excellent inn.Staff at all levels friendly/professional/efficient/attentive and welcoming.Meals in bars/lounge were off a high standard. Room large and easily accessed for handicapped guests/
Cons: 4 Log fires great, but all needed to have their chimneys swept! Normal wood fire aroma spoilt by visible smoke that attached to clothes/hair. This was one of several weaknesses that indicated lack of maintenance/checks by local or Cotswold Inns and Hotel management. Gratuity added to restaurant bill without previous advice and bathroom had no bath only a shower -this was a superior room but it had the smallest bathroom that could be designed. Limited clothes hanging space(coat hooks behind doors would have helped)
7.7 Good
Pros: Relaxing
4.4 Okay

With a stay at The Priory Burford Bed and Breakfast in Burford, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Cotswold Wildlife Park and Tolsey Museum.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place in the middle of Burford with quiet rooms situated in the restaurants. Staff are really friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is lovely and filling. Garden is yours to enjoy when they close restaurant at 5pm Have seen other accommodation in the village, I'm happy we choose the Priory. Great value and location. Thanks very much for a lovely stay!
Cons: - Pillows - were quite flat and hard so didn't sleep well on the first night. I know this is a personal thing, but would have been nice to have a choice of 2. - No Full English option for vegetarians for breakfast - wouldn't take much to offer veggie sausages for the 'Full English', but I was given extra egg and a hashbrown to compensate, so all good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Enjoyed our stay, rooms were at the back of the tea room and overlooked a small garden which was secluded and pleasant. The staff were accommodating and found somewhere to store our bicycles in the dry. Breakfast was also excellent. Quiet and safe easy access.
Cons: Room was a bit on the small side.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great place for families. At the back of a restaurant, but since the restaurant closes at 5 pm, there is no problem at all with noise. The room was great, bright and spacious, the shared bathroom was very clean. The staff was very friendly.
Cons: The room could not be made very dark due to the light curtains, which makes making little kids fall asleep a little trickier. But hey, wouldn't we all favor a location where this is the main negative point :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were spacious and the little garden was so warm and inviting! Breakfast was outstanding! The location was right in the center of this precious village. I have already recommended it to a friend who is going to England next Spring!
Cons: My room did not have a private bathroom, however my daughter's room did.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff where extremely helpful and did their best to get the shower up and working as soon as they could and where very concerned and helpful when my daughter had the accident in the room with the chest of drawers.
