Pros: I think its was all excellent but would have benefitted form a fan as it was a bit warm other than that it was perfect
Cons: It was a bit warm and you could not turn off the heated towel rail
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a spectacular conversion of a modern mansion into a B&B, the property is beautiful and its absolutely sparkling clean. It's secluded so it feels private and the facilities are not like anything you find in your run of the mill place, I would highly recommend this place to any body. It's closer to a spa than a b&B and the staff are lovely and very attentive
Cons: Unfortunately the garden lights weren't working for my stay, which was a shame as the nights were warm enough to sit out by the fountains until late.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Cons: What a unique hotel with a great owner and team! Our party of four arrived after a short tour of Portsmouth. The hotel is hidden in plain site and can be difficult to find even though it stands out being a different color than the surrounding buildings. We rang the doorbell and were greeted by Ian the owner. I’m a life time elite member of a major hotel brand and I can honestly say I’ve never been treated as well as Ian and the folks there treated us. Alex offered refreshments and we sat in the beautiful garden where Ian was kind enough to talk about the history of the hotel and his involvement in making it into the beautiful accommodation it is today. After dinner we returned to hotel and once again enjoyed the garden. Our room was the smaller of two but was very comfortable, clean while reflecting the time period of long ago. The bathroom was like stepping into a time warp, very modern and up to date. Breakfast was outstanding and the room well decorated. If you only like chain hotels don’t stay here but if you want to treated like family have an incredible experience in a building that’s been throughly renovated with an incredible owner and team stay here! Other info: Very good WiFi, steps, we were on the top floor, so you have to climb steps, no A/C, each room has a small fan, it was in the 80Fs but we had no issues sleeping. Only 6 rooms, so book early. If we return to Portsmouth we will stay here Sent from my iPad

Becketts Southsea - Southsea - Bedroom
4
9.4 Excellent (212 reviews)
Overview Reviews
For the past 30 years Becketts has been one of Southsea’s most loved restaurant and bar. New owners took it over in January 2016 with vision for its future. After purchasing its neighbouring property, these 2 beautiful Grade II listed buildings have been lovingly nipped and tucked and meticulously brought back to life. Featuring 4 floors of hand made wood designs, ambient lighting, several dining areas, a private dining room and 6 boutique bedrooms, the finished result is something very special and distinctively unique. Becketts is a lively venue, the only one in our city where you can brunch, lunch, dine, drink and sleep!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Quirky, bed so comfortable and room really nicely decorated. Breakfast excellent and a glass of Prosecco on arrival was a lovely touch. Superb service too. would definitely return.
Cons: You have to be very close if in room 6 as bathroom is partitioned from room!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Vegan breakfast was excellent. Staff great too.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff and food were excellent it was a great fun place to stay
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Bedroom was spotless and, I think, recently refitted to a very high standard. The staff were friendly and 10% off anything you buy in the bar downstairs is a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious.
Cons: The thumping baseline from the bar/restaurant downstairs stopped at a reasonable hour at night but started at 0730 the following morning. The music was so loud where we sat for breakfast I had to turn down one of the Sonos speakers to be able to hold a conversation. I assume they're trying to attract a particular crowd, but there was no-one under the age of 40 at breakfast so it was pretty unnecessary. You only get one coffee OR juice with breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location and great value for money. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Pros: The bathroom was nicely decorated and the shower was great. The room had pretty much everything you needed.

Pros: There was no standing around for check in. Everything was done electronically with a PIN number. Our tv didn’t seem to work and so I called Magda for help. She was straight round and we got it all fixed out. Lovely lovely lady. Very highly recommended!!!!

6.5 Good

Cons: The bathroom.. There was no demarcation between the toilet and the shower
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely place to stay. Super-Easy check-in. My flight was late and I didn’t get to the hotel until 2230. This wasn’t a problem as you use a PIN number to enter the property and your room. Other places I’ve stayed had strict check in times. The kitchen and utility facilities are brilliant. I made myself a ‘decent’ cup of coffee and biscuits are there if you want them. Charlotte and Magda haven’t cut costs by going cheap. There is a whole host of teas, coffee and a good selection of cereals etc for breakfast. Any questions etc you can call the ladies directly and your issue is resolved quickly. They deserve 10 out of 10.
Cons: Absolutely nothing......

Cons: It is a very small critique. While our bedroom was enormous and our en suite a good size, it really needed painting, the skirting boards, radiator etc, this was a surprise as the rest was so good. It didn't stop us giving it full marks though as it obviously can't be decorated every year.

Pros: Breakfast and Dining Room excellent. Although at a lower level the lighting and decoration were excellent and well furnished.
Cons: It had been a hot summers day and the bedroom was hot, it was on the ground floor and the windows had security straps that prevented the windows from being opened fully to let in fresh air; which was good for security but no good for cooling the room. A slim tower fan was provided which was efficient but noisy at full fan operation.

I was catered for a gluten free diet and provided with a gluten free bread for breakfast.
Cons: After seeing the reviews I was expecting a higher quality room. Instead it was small, didn’t look as appealing as on pictures, the radiator had an incredible amount of dust. I found staff not being very friendly.

Cons: It was a pleasant stay. Quiet location, close to beach and the main street with all the shops and restaurants. Very nice staff and really good breakfast. Room could do with being refurbished for a cleaner look.
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff lovely though and put some nice chocolates on your bed as we where celebrating. Nice lights above the bed.
Cons: Described as a luxury room but very old fashioned and badly in need of redecorating plus modernisation .The bathroom doors yellow colour with ageing. The floor very strange metal and uncomfortable if you where in bare feet. Felt £140 was not a fair price.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location for the beach is perfect, less than five minutes walking. Good breakfast, free parking by the door. We had a standard room, good value for money.
Cons: The mattress in our room was too soft. Noisy floor up, you can heard when people are walking upstairs, but the worst part was when a lady was shouting in the middle of the night....a couple of times.

Pros: Perfect location with ample free offstreet parking..cafes & bars to the right and lake & seafront to the left..all 5-10 min walk. Room clean, airy, good size and fan supplied. Good choice of breakfast freshly cooked. Cupcakes on arrival and snack pack on checkout
Cons: Breakfast room needs better ventilation
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fantastic
Cons: No facilities to eat a meal on site in the evenings
5.8 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfortable This hotel claims five stars and boasts that in is a winner of Four in a bed, on this experience I fail to see how it has done either there was long blond hairs in the drawers at the side, the bath had dropped down somehow causing the shower screen to have a gap, this flooded the bathroom when a shower was taken , asked at the reception for more towels as if had to use them to mop up the flood , was given the towel but the scruffily dressed person behind the reception didn’t ask how or why there was water on it be floor Decorating equipment left on stairs and in the shabby bar area from where you can see a back garden that is overgrown and looks a mess , I stayed at a boutique hotel in Torquay two days before, this garden had been looked after and had seating lights and ornaments in it , this what I would expect not scruffy overgrown hedges or blown flooring in the bar for that matter. The staff gave the impression that they didn’t care or didn’t want to be there which is a shame as they could have made the experience of staying there a lot better

Cons: N/a
7.0 Good
Pros: The stairs
6.8 Good
Pros: Continental breakfast was adequate, but no rolls. Cooked breakfast took 35 minutes to arrive with only 12 persons to serve. Cost of this was deducted from bill due to long wait. Property is nice and location is good for New Forest. Most rooms are on the second floor with narrow staircases and no lift. There was an ironing board and iron in the room, but it did not work. Courtesy bottle of beer and small bottle of wine in room on arrival was a nice touch.
Cons: I asked for some more coffee sachets and milk for our room, this seemed to create a big problem! When we went down for evening meal, we were asked if we had booked. When we said "no", we were told that waitress would have to "see if she could fit us in". A table was quite easily found , more than half the tables were empty!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, great food
Cons: It’s a little expensive

Pros: Good value for money, easy check in, clean and comfortable. Close to local amenities, we checked in after our day trip to the Isle of Whyte and were pleased with speedy check in. Good breakfast included, followed by a full day at the Historic Docklands ten minutes away. Would stay again. Thank you.
Cons: No toiletries in the rooms, other than hand wash pump. A shower cap was available from the desk but when your just about to shower and realise this with children in tow it’s an inconvenience to go and fetch one.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were looking for a location that made it easy to travel to and then around Portsmouth.this met that and exceeded with a large well presented room and facilities. Breakfast was typical fare but on par with expectations.
Cons: Fire alarm at 3am was not fun but that was only negative.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms very modern and clean
Cons: Breakfast nasty apart from coffee and croissants
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and staff helpful
Cons: Nothing !
7.5 Good
Pros: Location good for event we were attending. Easy to get to town centre and Quay using car. Breakfast good and staff helpful.
Cons: Although 3 guests only 2 sets of towels were left in room. However, issue immediatly solved when asked for another set.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was of the hotels hotel's usual high standard when we settled in. Breakfast was good, but crowded and a little chaotic at 8.00 am.
Cons: We arrived late off the ferry as it had been delayed. There was no one manning the desk so I had to wait to check in, eventually calling hello into the back office till someone came out. We were given keys to a room some distance away from reception which was ok, but when we arrived we found it had not been cleaned by the housekeeping staff, but left in a state by the previous occupants. I rang reception who quickly gave us the room opposite but late at night when you have been travelling for most of the day, you don't want to be standing around with your bags in the corridor.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location and easy from Portsmouth. Nice sized comfortable room, excellent breakfast and friendly staff.
Cons: Couldn't get on with air con and shower had little power and tended to soak the bathroom floor.
7.0 Good
Pros: Room was clean, tidy and generally nice. Good location for local attractions. Outside the grounds was not exactly anything to write home about - Petrol station, major roads, industrial estate & I think there was a small shopping centre.
Cons: A little over priced. I have stayed in better hotels for less money. Grounds were 'ok', if only a little unkempt. Breakfast was pretty much box standard & certainly nothing exceptional. Evening meals were WAAAAAAAAY overpriced, and that is mainly what let it down as the meals were not of a very high standard
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Both breakfast and the location were very good.
Cons: Cigarette butts littered internal courtyard.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Sausages were not nice
