How to Get to Faro


When flying to Faro, you’ll arrive at Faro Algarve Airport (FAO), which is located 3 km from the city center. The shortest flight to Faro from the United States departs from New York and takes around 10h 50m.


Comboios de Portugal is the only carrier operating train routes to Faro. The train journey from Faro to Lisbon takes 2h 52m and costs around $10 for a one-way ticket. When coming by train from Porto, expect to pay about $24 for a 5h 51m trip. Located 9 km from the city center, Faro Parque Das Cidades is the busiest station in Faro. Another popular train station is Estação Ferroviária de Faro, located 0.8 km from the center.
