The location was great, the wine they poured was very good and the homemade cookies were yummy. The front yard was quaint. The back was a dirt lot - ugly! The breakfast room contained too many people with a long boring looking table, & it felt like a hotel and not a quaint B&B. Too many rooms for a B&B. Online pics were not current, & I had a better expectation of the place because of them. Nothing cute!
Overall, we loved Santa Nella House. A few of the things that stood out:The proprietors, who were super friendlyThe food, which was delicious and different every morningThe wrap-around porchThe hot tubThe beauty of the BnB The location meant that we had to drive 10+ minutes on very windy roads to get anywhereOur shower really only provided lukewarm waterOur particular bedroom was quite small (most of the others, however, are larger)
Bed was comfortable. Reservation policy charged us for lost day due to car problems even though they received 48 hour prior notice. Breakfast was mediocre for expensive venue. Room had choppy layout and awkward. Not worth the price of the room. When we arrived late no room key was available as promised and we had to wait for someone to show up.
The Guerneville Lodge was quiet, peaceful. The room was clean and comfortable. Room was simple, and inviting. The lack of television in the room was not a problem. Movies and books in the lobby. While this is a old lodge, it did not smell old. Everything was clean. If looking for quaint, this is it. It took a long time for the water in the shower to get hot. Once it did, the temperature was fine.
Wonderful Sunday breakfast! Beautiful spot, with rustic charm.
