good attention to detail, nice staff, good food. Very good value.
Excellent Food and service staff, wonderful views. Parking, Only that we were not able to have a space, but unloading and loading was fine.
the view noise from rooms above and parking problems
the sea view the price
The rooms were of good size and the views over the river/harbour were spectacular. It was also in avery quiet location.
Dinner menu expensive and not to our taste
good location, friendly and helpful staff, excellant room
Good food, comfortable bedroom and comfortable lounge Lack of car parking spaces and the Dartmoor Bitter running out on Sunday evening.
did not appreciate the request to leave a gratuity when paying final bill as a result left nothing
Lovely old building in an amazing location, great pool, jacuzzi and treatment rooms. Slow service, lack of attention to detail, uncomfortable beds, poor breakfast, trying to charge for every possible extra. Not the standard I'm usied to from hotels in this price range.
The food and the spa Our room could have been tidier, e.g. we found tissue just beneath the bed and the room had a odd odour, as if an aninmal had been there. It did not feed clean but dusty. This is the only negative in an otherwise good stay but is a big concern since we paid a lot of money for the room.
The hotel had a very relaxed atmosphere and was very child friendly with the staff, on the whole, being very accommodating and helpful.
Family friendly, Spa, good location for shops & beach Food good Confusion over your offer of free beds / cots x 2 as I had requested for 3 adults & 1 child in a room, they wanted to charge extra until I showed the page on your web site, really shouldn't have had to!
the hotel had no problem with my dog which is not small
excellent for a family, expensive bed, very old cheap matress. evening meal cold
I enjoyed the laid back of the hotel which came across from both it's staff and surrondings. As it was an old beautiful building with log fires and formal dining rooms this was given a modern relaxed spin with playstations and comfy pillows and a giant trampoline which me and my partner both enjoyed ( and we have no kids). The hotel describes itself as a 'spa' which is rather a big leap from it's actual faculties. The outdoor hot tub area overlooking the sea is a nice touch but in comparison to the orginal photos is unkept and nit very well obtained. Sweeping the decking and providing covers for the seating would have done wonders. The pool was very shallow as this was aimed at children. Strangely there was no sauna even though the dos section looked like a recent addtional to the hotel this was an immission that would have made a vast difference and is a must st a spa. These are nice faculties but in no way can be defined as s doa.
The staff were excellent, very quick to respond, friendly and helpful. They made the experience worth while. Really cold bathroom, too cold to want to bath in (quick shower was the answer). Different style of breakfast on each morning and having to ask for condiments.
The cleanliness and newly-decorated feel; the helpfulness of the staff particularly during the flooding which affected the Lostwithiel area; the wi-fi coverage; the incorporation of several buildings giving a non-national-chain impression. The lack of any available outside seating during the winter season, which would be particularly useful for disabled/semi-disabled guests. The residents' lounge/bar wasn't really adequate.
The great friendliness of all the staff, particularly as I was a solo traveller While the restuarant survice was excellent, the quality of the cooking of dinner was a bit disappointing
comfort and cleanliness
Very comfortable and quiet room. Excellent car parking. Pleasant surroundings. bathroom was a little small and needed updating
Staff very helpful and friendly Seating in public lounge not very comfortable, no television in public lounge
Beautiful setting Poor shower, sprayed everywhere!!
It was good value and located close to the Cornish coastline No dislikes but missed the bar not serving bar meals
The cleanliness and attention to detail was unbeatable ,the staff were friendly and obliging giving the hotel a relaxed atmosphere. The food was overpriced and extremely poor quality. We ate at the Royal Talbot ,subsequently we will probably book five days in June there because of this.
rooms very clean and food very good
We were made to feel welcome straight away, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was wonderful and the bed really comfortable, I wish we had the chance to stay a few more nights but our journey was ongoing. The breakfast the next morning was all we had anticipated from a proper cornish hotel
Staff were all very friendly and accommodating and Meg went above and beyond. Room very quaint and very clean. Food excellent. No request was too much trouble. Meg even put the heating on just for us even though it was still warm enough for the locals and we would return in a heartbeat. Village amazing and castle is a must well worth the walk. Nothing
