The room was a nice size, with plenty of space for the kitchenette and bathroom. We had a 'studio with spa bath' and it had two beds- a queen and a twin, plus a couch. It was clean. The place was pretty outdated, even compared to other NZ hotels we were at on our trip. Mattress was old. It was also about 2 km (1.3 mi) from the center of town.
We found the motel very clean and comfortable. The staff were freindly and helpful. Good location.
Excellent. The staff was very helpful. None whatsoever
The room is clean and spacious. No hot water after my husband had spa so the rest of us have to cancel our shower. This is even after we waited for 30 min still no hot water. I ended up taking cold shower as I didn't know. I have to soak in the spa bath to stay warm after the cold shower.
Really friendly welcome. Nice touch with fresh milk being made available
The view - well it would have been fantastic if it wer'nt for the torrential rain and low clouds covering the mountains. the hotel was nice, well presented and comfy. The shower - as soon as you went near the hot water the pressure went south - hated the miserable shower with no pressure - had to run around to get wet which is not fun in winter. The heater was not powerul enough to heat a cold room in the middle of winter - it struggled to warm the room. We had a power failure in the middle of the night due to the weather so we woke up to a cold room but this was no fault of the hotels.
The last 3 rooms ( 23 to 26) have views of Mt Cook. The day of arrival was in Winter. The room was freezing cold and after 12 hours it was still cool. This hotel has cheap 40 dollar convection n heater ( no fan) only.
strange smell in the room
the location, with a view of Mts Cook & Tasman (cloud permitting) the noise from the nearby heliport. the wireless internet reception in our room was poor and unreliable.
Friendly and helpful staff, good local knowledge of places to go and things to do, room was clean and tidy although basic and had laundry facilities which were much needed. Excellent views of the montains when the cloud is not down. It was a little further than expecte from the centre of town - 15 mins walk and the street was quite dark returning late at night. Walls of the units were thin and the plumbing allowed us to hear when neighbours were having a shower or using running water.
It was beautiful, well worth every cent. It was my favourite place to stay on our NZ Trip. Nothing.
For such a remote location the accommodation was of a very high standard. The room was nicely decorated & was warm & inviting when we first entered it. The heating in the bathroom was excellent also. We did not like the dark hallways lit with low lights when it was early evening - later in the night is understandable.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food at the restraunt was great and the location perfect.
Hotel was quiet and very relaxing. Staff were very accomodating. It had fantastic views of the surrounds. Was only a short walk to the main town. Highly recommend this to anyone who would be looking to stay here.
The very friendly staff, the warm feeling.
Fantastic B&B with wonderful and helpful hosts, you feel at home.
Location, service and dining were excellent! N/A
Excellent service. Pleasant and friendly operators. Rooms were modern and comfortable
The few staff I spoke to were both friendly and courteous The room was small, felt cluttered, was reminiscent of 1960s budget accommodation. Carparking was unsatisfactory.
Fox Glacier is quite a small settlement and this hotel is right in the middle of it. Has a fair restaurant but is close by a number of alternative dinner and breakfast options. Temperature control in shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold! Hotel very much motel style but good for access to the Glacier activities.
Nice hotel, at an ideal location.
Location, friendly and helpful staff, restaurant ok middle of road type food Needs updating to rooms and walkways
A nice hotel, lovely balcony and space to sit out and relax
A bit expensive & run down old Hotel, but with character, ok for one night, there are not many options in this location.
How can you say what you didn't like without it being a complaint. This hotel was the dearest we stopped in, and it was the most budget accomodation of all.All the facilities need upgrading to a higher standard.
Great location. Lovely gathering room with fireplace and several computers available at a reasonable fee.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was easy to find and the view from our window towards the mountain was superb. There are some lively bars/restaurants in the town The room was a bit small for the amount we paid, internet is only available through a local wireless network, the main restaurant closed early (8:00p.m). They wanted to service our room at 9:00 a.m.
Explored local sites of interest including Fox Glacier Breakfast choices somewhat limited
kitchen has all the equipment you need to cook meals.outside of the hotel has a small garden that looks nice.close to glacier and lake attraction. It is a place for teenager travelers. Trance music throughout the day and loud people at nights, it is not easy to sleep and rest. Someone pounded on the wall of our room at night and blast into our room until we yelled and kicked him out. paid internet
