The setting and gardens. The service and very helpful, friendly staff. The restaurant. We had a wonderful stay. We thought our room was a little small for the price and it was crowded with 2 large suitcases. There was no lift to our floor. Is this consistent with a 5-star hotel?
We went for our honeymoon so it felt like we were spoiling ourselves - luxurious, awesome views, wonderful food and drinks. Most of the staff were fantastic. We felt one or two of the restaurant staff were not as attentive as they should be.
The interior style, the staff and the location were all excellent, but without hesitation the restaurant food and service, were exemplary. Send the rest of the world's service industry's staff there for training! Perhaps a double bedroom should have a double bed and not just two singles pushed together [and inefficiently held there] - but then as I was on honeymoonmaybe I am being a little picky. Oh....
Very nice terrace overlooking the lake, excellent meals at the restaurant, very friendly and helpfull staff poor Internet connection with charges
Nice hotel with polite and educated staff. Quiet place for relaxing with beautiful view. Romantic atmosphere. Beautiful operetta night and nice restaurant. Price. More comforts were needed (SPA etc). The photo was not corresponding to the room that was given to us. Every morning outside of our suite was an annoying noise from the cuisine of the restaurant.
The location and view The size of the room and the bathroom
The hotel was a perfect place to stay on a honeymoon with attentive staff, beautiful interiors and an incredible terrace with views over the Lake. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Its a 20 minute walk to the Lake garda boats but the extra seclusion does provide a far more personal experience.
great swimming-pool and scenery.
attention to detail and beauty of the biulding and surroundings gardens
Friendly Service Long distances to walk from room to reception
i liked everything , especially the location directly at the lake , it gives a wonderful feeling the only negative thing is the heavy traffic on the road alongside of the hotel , although you can not hear it in the hotel
Everything was first class
A large hotel, ideal for older guests. Excellent staff, service, location.
Location to the Lake N/A
Clean and bright bedrooms and common areas. Friendly staff. Good food. Helpful staff. Location good as base for visiting other areas of Lake Garda.
The hotel gave us an ideal location to celebrate our wedding anniversary; centrally placed and offering good quality services.
The "Al la Carte" resteurant is a must, superb food the staff are fantastic and the location is hard to beat. The hotel is "old world charm" rather than a modern. Would recomend the Lake Veiw rooms for the additional cost. Travel around the lake very easy with the ferry just outside.
Fantastic position right on lake Prices of tea/coffee and drinks generally
The friendliness of the staff and the location of the property. Insufficient air conditioning and some problems parking.
I cannot fault this hotel in any way. The night we stayed here was part of a surprise trip for my husband's birthday. I only wished we had stayed longer! The location was out of this world, the accommodation second to none, the food sublime, the staff attentive and helpful. What more can I say. Oh yes, I look forward to going back again.
The position is superb and the staff are charming and helpful. The rooms are very high-tec and being open for only a few months have minor problems which are being dealt with. There are differences in room sizes which were not apparent when booking and we upgraded, paying extra.
It was pure pleasure, the location, the hotel, but certainly the interior design (room and facilities) makes you feel relaxed at all times, sorrounded by beauty and like you don't want to leave. I can't tell his name because I don't know but one of the managers who " helped" us when we did the check in, cted somehow un-friendly and a little arrogant in my view, though this fact doesn't change my opinion at all of such a wonderful experience with Bella Riva. The rest of the staff was fantastic. I mention this because it was the only negative highlight, not intending to change people's styles
Very modern and clean... good option if you don't like the typical European style hotels. Loved the location, our favourite in Lake Garda. It's a new hotel and they haven't thought of minor things such as a place to put the soap, shampoo etc in the shower....
Beautiful setting, great hotel and staff. Unbelievable views over the lake from the balcony. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The food was plentiful and a great choice to suit all requirements. Limited parking although not a problem during my stay.
Excellent hotel and would go back.
Proximity to lake, room had beautiful view and large terrace. Staff very helpful and made you feel at home. Sat on the upper terracwe drinking Champagne and strawberries and felt like film stars. We are already trying to plan our next visit, but dont want to spoil ourselves as this is a very special place.
the location was excellent with fantastic views over the lake and close to all the local restaurants. the pool and garden were lovely.its a great place for a quiet and relaxing holiday. we thought the breakfast was very poor. the same menu every day. also if you wanted fried eggs or freshly squeezed juices you had to pay E 4.00 for them.
Nice view on the Lake Garda. Hotel occupies historical building but well renovated and equipped with all necessary facilities for relax and spa. Spacious double room with lake view also has a balcony. Good bar service. Wi-Fi is not free of charge. There is a requirement to book a parking place in advance but hotel can't guarantee the fulfillment of own obligations (as it was in our case).
Nice, peaceful place. Pool side deal for families with kids, romantic evenings with music by the pool ideal for couples. The lake just in front of the hotel.
size of rooms & position Very dated decor, breakfast, staff, limited parking facility & lobby
Lake view from large balcony. Quite a quiet area but shops and cafes in close proximity. Easy access to local ferry system.
fabulous lakeside setting, excellent service within hotel, great pool area for chilled relaxation. Outside the hotel ther are several bars and resturants within 5 min walk with great variety of choice.
no specific positive comments is more a 3 star hotel; poor breakfast (payable extra items like cooking egg etc + low quality + every day the same); payabel parking of 10€ a day (not mentioned before); price/quality not in line
The staff were helpful and welcoming. The hotel has great facilities and very clean. Weather permitting, breakfast was enjoyable outside. We had an amazing view of Lake Garda from our balcony!
Helpful staff, nice decor, quiet location but close enough to restaurants and the lake, wonderful gardens and near Il Vittoriale where we saw a concert.
The accommodating nature of the staff like of irons/bugs in the room
Very nice hotel. We'll return there again.
Fabulous experience. Location is tremendous - away from the busy road yet close to the lake with great lake views. Between the lower and upper part, latter with lovely piazza restaurants with an easy walk to both. Room was large and very comfortable. It was kept immaculately. The staff were all very welcoming, friendly, efficient and really cared that we enjoyed our stay. Pool and patio areas for sitting in the sun and relaxing. Varied and interesting breakfast selection.
Modern rooms. Free of charge parking. Clean outdoor pool (unheated). Hillside location with comparably little traffic noice. Friendly staff. Rooms seem to be accessible for handicapped people. WLAN not free of charge and - even worse - ridiculously priced (4€ for 30 min, 7€ for 1 hr). Mediocre, loveless breakfast in rather uncharming dining hall. No shower curtain in bathroom. Pool towels only available in exchange to "towel card" (one per day). No bellboy service (luggage has to be carried up to the room by yourself). Plastic cups instead of glasses in minibar and bathroom.
perfect location - away from the crowds - small hotel - so not many people - good breakfast small walk from centre of town - but not the hotels fault!!
Excellent staff, beautiful pool, quiet area, lovely resturants nearby, great breakfast.
there is a swiming pool, staff is very friendly, location not far from the lake, in a beautiful garden, breakfst buffet good with enough choice. the rooms are pretty and comfortable. peaceful. the canes of juice at the breakfast waren't labeled so you had to take a guess what you are taking, lake of natural yoghourt with no sugar, no mosterd, and unfortunately no restaurant where you could serve dinner. my son forgot his shoes but they weren't found. no hair conditioner, no cotton buds and no slippers in the room. (for a 4 stars one expects them too)...couldn't find a door sign with yes/don't make the room. bathrooms outdated: thin tubes with only shower a hand one in the tube....when showering in the bathtube water kept running out of the bath (very cheap system with a curtain) so we had to use unecologically each time a big towel on the floor in order to stop the water run in the room (room 106). NO free internet (7 euro/hour!!
Excellent Hotel with first class staff. Quiet and relaxing.
Views were beutiful. The room & pool area were really nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent price. We liked the place. The hotel was quite far away from the centrum.
Beautiful setting and very nice pool area, spacious and clean appartment. Good value for money. We were charged for the baby cod
Convenient, clean, friendly staff, very nice family friendly environment.
The view from our balcony was spectacular!!!, right on the lake, surrounding areas, 1 hr. drive to Verona, resturants and grocery store nearby. The room was a nice rate (wasn't yet the busy season) however it seemed like they nickel and dimed you for little things. Granted we were staying in apartments, but you had to pay if you wanted your room cleaned and also for extra towels. Also we could not figure out how to get into the baby/kids playground. After walking carrying our 14 month old up, down and all around we gave up.
position and quietness and swimming pool we thought they could have changed the towels during our stay
Clean, bright and spacious.Excellent value. Pool not open until middle May and was 28 degrees in April!
Views were spectacular. Very comfortable rooms. Facilities great. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent price. Loved our stay. Would go back again and stay there. No laundry facilities available. Needed washing machine and dryer. Tea & coffee sachets would be nice on first day of arrival.
Lovely view from the rooms to leg Garda. They don't change the Towels at all.
Indoor pool, views, awesome hotel gardens/terraces Dated facilities; room wasn't very big, no chest of drawers, no tea/coffee facilities and 2 of 3 power points didn't work.
The hotel was extremely comfortable, beautiful views, lovely pool and excellent evening meals. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The grounds lovely and well looked after and very clean and good length pool but deep and indoor facilities too! Certainly recommend for couples and older families! Not far from resort and lake. Breakfast's were a little lacking in choice and variety, disappointing lack of fresh fruit. Very steep walk up to hotel from main road, so car would be advisable. Watch out for the cost of drinks including water, they don't tell you nor offer any wine list with prices!
The staff were very pleasant. There were extensive grounds to explore. There were two very clean swimming pools. The restaurant was excellent both for the breakfast and the evening meal.
pleasant friendly staff, nice view, nice garden and terrace, great shutters for keeping out the light (so i didn't wake early)
The old charming building with the beautiful facade, the garden and the terrace with a great view The furniture of the room was rather simple and the hotel is close to the main road it was noisy; if you accept this the hotel is ok
the fantastic view and of course the position unfortunatly it is near the road. noisy during the day
Lovely staff who were very welcoming. Super room with fantastic views.
Very friendly staff, great location, and excellent value for the money. It was a charming little hotel, good breakfast, clean room, nice bathroom, an overall great experience. We will definitely stay here again.
It is a beautiful hotel, with lovely gardens, and stunning views across Lake Garda. The owner and family greet all guests on arrival and are multilingual, very helpful. Though it is an old villa, and furnished accordingly, it is very charming. Everywhere is exceptionally clean. The owner and family greet all guests on arrival and are multilingual, very helpful. Everywhere is exceptionally clean. Good choice at breakfast. Didn't have a problem with the road at night, as had door and shutters closed and AC on. The road runs all round the lake and is a compromise wherever you stay, if you want lake views.
The family atmosphere and helpful friendly staff. The decor was very nicely done in an informal but elegant way. Noise from road beside the pool.
Everyting was OK.
It was a very good hotel for the price, excellent, friendly management etc The traffic noise was bad and one night very loud music from a nearby bar went on until 2am.
The views from hotel were fantastic and hotel staff were very helpful The hotel was a little remote for ourselves would have liked a bit more night life
Happy hour in der Hotelbar, dort auch sonst faire Preise mit Blick auf den Gardasee.
Lake Garda is a beautiful place. Lake itself, mountains, clean waters all was excellent. This is just a wrong hotel in a splendid place, just like many other things in Italy :) Hotel is a fleabag, rooms are so old you cant imagine it. Dont believe what the site is saying about triple room, its just pretty small doubleroom with extra bed that makes it impossible to move in the room and forget to get to balcony. It was really crap. If you decide to go dont hesitate to ask for a better room, the staff understands what kind of rooms they have and most likely will try to help you a little, but they dont have much to upgrade it to anyway.
Stayed in a family room for 3 nights. Good location just outside Salò, on the lakeshore with a small but nice beach. Beautiful view of the Garda lake and Salò from the terrasse bar. Shuttlebus to the town a few times during the day. All meals incl. Very old hotel, long time since it was a 4 stars hotel! The furniture in our room was worn & damaged, the room so small (bathroom tiny!) that with the ugly bunkbeds for the children we were unable to move around. The air/con was not working properly in our room, and the food they served was barely eatable and mostly junk food. The hotel in general is in a desparate need of a total redecoration.
Very relaxed hotel, good choice of food, idea for families, wonderful location, picturesque and quiet.
great room and hotel location
All in all the appearance of the hotel and the rooms is rather shabby, and considering this, the price is rather high. Hence, it is not really good value for money.
the situation by the lake, the kindness of the receptionists
good base to travel from. nice staff a bit shaby and no place for car parking. tv and hair dryer did not work. shower leaked
perfect view, slow service at dinner, carpet in room grubby,
Big room with nice furniture, nice view over the lake, bathroom small but clean with everything you need including a hairdryer and soap, big window in the bath that was very nice. Breakfast was ok,not to much but enough. Tv to small with 5 chanels only,no free parking available on sight.
Friendly staff and great location. No baths in the bathrooms!
Localization is great. 5m from the edge of the Garda Lake Very loud street in front of the hotel. It was rather impossible to sleep from 5am - every day. Mould on the walls in bathroom. Breakfast without any vegetables, and every day the same menu.
The meals presented by the hotel were great. It is a well managed family run hotel.
Had a fantastic Holiday, Hotel was great & a brilliant location, Hotel restaurant & all others on the front were great & very well priced, would definately recommend
The location is excellent and the hotel staff were very helpful and attentive. The pool was lovely and to be able to swim in lake garda from the hotel was also great. Our room was nice with a good view of the Lake from the balcony. It was just a short walk to the nearest town which was nice in the evening.
I liked the staff atention and the excelent food. No.
Proximity and access to Lake Garda
The location was great, pool was nice and room had a great view
It was a great location. Easy walk in to Gardone for lovely water front, good restaurants (especially set back from lakeside) and ferry service. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast right next to the lake was a great start to the day. Surprising to have no tea / coffee in room but room service was very quick
hotel beautiful and staff created lovely athmosphere..food excellent and lovely setting thought the evening menu could benefit from a little more variety but quality and service excellent
The location, the restaurant, the pool. The barmann was very arrogant and rude with the clients. Bevause fo thaht I would not recommend that place. It is a shame because everybody else were very nice and pleasant.
Location Recommended a ferry that wasn't running and a restaurant that was closed for the winter, they should have known better
Wonderful staff, great views of the lake. Easy access to boats to go up and down lake.
The views from the lobby area out to Lake Garda; the garden setting that opened from the lobby; the excellent breakfast; the attentive staff. My massage was disappointing. Cold room, no candles or heated massage table, too much bright light; no soothing music. Massage itself was too light. We must do it differently in the US.
Excellent views out of room, friendly staff, clean The decor and fittings, at least in our room were sersiously dated and in need of a refit. The hotel didn't appear to offer an a la carte menu, the fixed menu was about 35 Euros (we never ate at the hotel).
I liked the spectacuar views and the quality of the food
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, building beautiful, service excellent. Ideal for a relaxing romantic break No
The hotel staff was exemplary. The terrace was very romantic both breakfast and dinner. Taking a drink by the pool was delightful. The room was a little outdated. It seemed everything had not been revisited since the 70's.
really nice staff, beautiful architecture main road too close, no balconies, interiors bit old
service and the stuff gentle too small room
Lake views, good staff to residents ratio, setting, swimming pool and breakfast terrace. No nothing
Hotel is very comfortable in a nice oldfashioned way with excellent service from the staff. An excellent hotel to relax in.
The hotel is situated in a beautiful art nouveau building just outside the old town of Saló. The view over lake Garda is great, so are the deck chairs and the pool. The staff is fantastic - they'll bend backwards to help you with anything! This seems to be a family run hotel, where the family are perfectionists. A not too expensive luxury if you're stayin in the smaller, more modern rooms. I love it!
This is the most wonderful hotel. The staff was amazing, the property amazing, the restaurant superb. Fabulous breakfast. I can't say enough positive things about it lest I fear there will never be room available again.
The beautiful hotel building. On site car park. The friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful staff they could not have been better. Excellent quality of the food. The well maintained garden. The close proximety (5 mins walk) of restaurants and shops. Ten minutes walk to the ferry linking Salo to all the other towns on the lake. The noise from the road whilst relaxing/sunbathing in the garden. There is only a hedge and pavement between the road and lawn with sun beds. Evening meals are a bit pricey.
The hotel is well placed on the edge of old Salo town and is an easy stroll to the nearby restaurants and shops.
The location of the hotel is superb. Our spacious room had a splendid view over the lake. The staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant maintained a high standard. On the minus side: the air-conditioning in our room was barely adequate, the breakfast buffet could be more ambitious, and too many guests ignored the pool rules posted for the benefit of all in five languages. Value for money? Not really.
Magnificent View over lake from balcony Altho' the hotel was nowhere near full, bookings were still required for dinner. Bar closed early (if it was ever open).
Location of the hotel, size of the room and terasse and view. Friendly staff especially in reception. Since we have travelled with baby and stroller we were expecting to takea stroller to our room. It did not fit to elevator since they are too small. Some other families had same problem. Breakfast is really basic for 4* hotel, no hot food and variety is very small - cheese, hamd, bread, fruits, jogurt and corNflakes. Parking is also unsuficient only 11 spaces for large hotel and website advertize free parking in front of the hotel. If you came late to the hotel you had to look for parkings faraway or pay 10 euro a day in paid parking near by.
The position of the hotel and the view from our room balcony Hotel food was poor
large simply furnished room with sliding doors onto spacious balcony with beautiful view good location inability to use the pool before breakfast
The swimming pool and sunbathing area is great. The location fantastic - right on the lake. Everything was very clean. Buffet breakfast was gorgeous food. Bathrooms were excellent, baths and showers. Some of the staff were surly and unhelpful, especially serving/clearing breakfast. The minute 10am arrived they were clattering around you whilst you were finishing your breakfast. It is a little old fashioned, the decor from the 70s/80s. No spa facilities are included in the price of the room. The breakfast is not a hot buffet. The in room bar only had two beers in it.
Rooms were big with beautiful view and were cleaned professionally on a daily basis. The general hotel staff are very warm and helpful. It is a non smoking environment which was fantastic. The breakfasts are poor, but mostly the breakfast waiters are rude and unprofessional. It may sound petty, but does have an affect on your stay!
We had a wonderful time at this hotel and would definately recommend staying there. The location was wonderful beautiful views and close to the town which provided an abundance of bars and restaurants as well as a ferry service to other locations. The hotel room was spacious and staff very friendly and helpful, particularly Daniel who arranged taxi's for us and gave valuable local information. The breakfast was very nice, lovely cornettos! The swimming pool was large and clean and not over chlorinated. It was also very quiet and most times we had the whole pool to ourselves! I would also recommend hiring a speed boat from salo to tour the lake, hotel staff also helped with this making the call and translating the necessary info! I wish I was back there right now!!!
super views over the lake. Friendly staff. The best palma ham in the world. It was draped like a cloud of thin sheets succulent flavoursome over fresh chilled melon. Exquisite balance. No
Excellent position on Lake Garda gives spectacular views in restful atmosphere. Easy access to town and ferries. Friendly attentive staff. No
weather, restaurant, good wine location very close to the main street - noisy
it was very clean lack of facilities, it was too near the main road,it was too far out
cleanliness of rooms to near the roads, rooms were very small single room was cell like, no air con, too far out
The staff was really frendly and helpful. Lot of traffic noice close to the hotel.
the hotel does not have airconditon, very nosy loction is not comfotable at all to any one go there to relax
Hotel has parking , it is near lake . It has free internert . Breakfast can be better .
hotel was clean basic and friendly we got what we paid for. Bus stop and shop next to hotel. hotel sits on busy road
View on the lake. It is on a busy road. Extremely noisy. There is no air conditioning.
The owner made us feel very welcome, and spent quite a while telling us about the locality. The lunch was very tasty, and it felt like us being one of the locals.
Not all Italians along Garda are friendly, and langugae is sometimes a problem. But at Touring the owners (brother and sister?) spoke essential English and were indeed helpful and sweet. A good hotel if you are travelling on budget - or holiday and do not need wireless connection, and just want a bed and private bathroom w/shower for a night or 3. If you can choose room yourself, choose the backside, the traffic is constant on the front side. The location is good, between two villages, frequent bus stops just outside the hotel, one nice coffebar there as well. Best and most convenient choice if you are not looking for state of the art luxury but nice people. Although the breakfast was not our faveourite (Italy is Italy..) the food in their little restaurant was great. They also served some great home made onion/apple jam with the salted meat as a free starter. Delicious. When we checked out 5.30 in the morning one of the employees got up and made us a jolly good coffee.
