Great hotel. Enjoyed the beach and the pool, good food, nice room, and the sofa (water sports) was a hit with the kids. We would definitely go back!
It is 4-stars hotel in fact
The excellent location with private beach, and the food in both the buffet and a la carte restaurants was brilliant. The room was not quite up to 5 star standard with a few rusty cracks / dents in the bathroom.
Wery nice staff , perefct food and drinks / all inclusive /, in fact hotel on the beach / 2 min. walking/, we will recomend this hotel for enjoyable summer vacation
The view was beautiful from the main building and from the room. The rooms were not nice at all. Horrible beds and really old nasty comforter with sand in the sheets. The restaurant is just a self serve cafeteria with food that reminded me of public school lunch. The room smelled and was ancient with an old crapy tube TV and no DVD or even a VHS player. No chain locks on the doors.. the maid walked in as she kind of knocked at a very inappropriate time. The beach is concrete with old busted up lounges. The bartenders have no idea how to make a drink at all and i mean the ones on the list. The pools were cloudy and dirty. I left for every meal and stayed off the property as much as possible to avoid the hotel during my stay.
This hotel was a fantastic value for money and we enjoyed the comfortable lounges and the large private beach. Staff members were excellent- helpful and pleasant always. We appreciated the opportunity to relax at the hotel bars some nights rather than seek out expensive pubs or restaurants elsewhere. The rooms were too hot- the airconditioning was too weak and we were sweating in the room all the time. Also, our room was overlooking the entertainment venue, which was playing (really) loud music most nights until 11-12. However, this wasn't a huge deal and I would still recommend this hotel, although perhaps with a room away from the stage.
good food, good public transportation to town with bus stop righ in front of the hotel, nice landscaping room high on the hill, too much uphill walking from the main building,no fresh towels on sundays
Comfortable rooms, great pool facilities for the kids, and compliments to the chef and staff great food and efficient friendly service.
The private beach was lovely, sea very clean and the facilities were great and the location was really good. The food was ok. This is not a 5 star hotel, more like a 3 star, we had very basic rooms, dimly lit and without a minibar and the bathroom looked tired. We were not allowed water with our meal being on Half Board which we were surprised about and we had to beg for tap water with our meal. Apparently it did not include even soft drinks with your dinner, it was not that clear to us. The staff were not very happy at Reception and we had to call 2 times for housekeeping and our room was miles away from the main part of the hotel.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The pools were clean. Many activities were offered for family entertainment, such as archery and darts. The food was delicious and varied for different palates.
Marbella Beach is a huge 5-star hotel on the eastcoast of Corfu next to the sea. Taxi from the airport takes about 20min and cost ~30Euro. If you're looking for awesome views this is the place to be. Almost everywhere you have breathtaking views over the sea and the Albanian mountains. The staf is very friendly and serviceminded even if some of them don't say much. Marbella have an artificial private beach built with nice sand and sunchairs. The water is very clear if you like to dive. The food was OK but not the best. Lucky they had many choices so you always found something to eat. Our room had a great terrass with a wonderful view but there where also rooms with bad locations. You can go to Corfu town by bus (cost 3Euro for 2 ppl). The diningterras had a great location but we could not use it because of the bies. They where eveywhere and searched for food so we had to sit inside. The beds where rockhard and the room wasn't close to 5-star even if some hotelareas was really nice (I guess that is how Greece is). The rooms where also very loudy. We went for the Halfboard (not all-inclusive) and the problem here was that drinks wasn't included in the dinner so we had to pay extra. Even for the water. Another problem was the sunchairs on the beach, we had to wake up about 7.30AM to put our towels on the chairs to get one. After 8 AM there was no more space. Mostly russians so we didn't spoke with many people but I think for the money and the location the hotel was worth it
excellent hotel cant really fault it, especially the day time bar staff. the night bar staff were not hospitable and rude.
The quality of the hotel is in general very good. Easy access to the beach, 2 good fresh water pools and 1 excelent sea water pool. The food at all restaurants is very good. The staff is very friendly providing a good atmosphere to the hotel. The all inclusive package needs to be improved. In comparison with other European locations it is too limited for a 5 star hotel.
We liked the nice, clean area of the hotel, nice beach with easy descent into the sea, nice staff and good food. The hotel sometimes celebrate a wedding, it hurt a little rest (loud music until 2 am).
The location was really good, the surroundings was perfect, fresh air, green trees The rooms had not been renovated for years, the air conditioning was really old
nice hotel could use some updating beds need to be updated
the evening in the hotel bar terrance was nice the bedrooms need modernisation and need to offer more in the rooms
Convenient and cheap stop over prior to catching a flight out of Corfu. 1)Noise from a children's party. 2)Aircon did not work 3)Bedroom window did not open 4) No water in minibar 5)Hotel tired and in need of refurb 5)Staff not very helpful 6) Breakfast pretty revolting - overall definitely not a 5 star hotel
The hotel has so much potential, but it needs a serious update. The owner needs to put some money into it and push it to the next level. I understand it was once a "hot" hotel, but it lacks any character and comfort now. Just a standard bed and bathroom. You are literally overlooking the airport so as long as the sound of planes taking off and landing doesn't bother you, then it's fine.
The location is good, the staff are pleasant and helpful. Lots of free parking available (open air and underground). Needs better maintenance. Things that don't work or are broken are not taken care of. At breakfast, items were often missing. The staff were quick to provide whatever is required, but with better training/management the inconvenience wouldn't arise in the first place.
the view of the sea. The 1970's decoration, and furniture.
Great food atcthe hotel which was very reasonably priced. Also enjoyed the Greek grill buffet which included Greek music and dancing.
beautiful view, very quiet price of drinks at the bar were outrageous
Very accomodating staff, great breakfasts, outstanding view from room.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The Breakfast Buffet was fantastic!
I really enjoyed the accomodation and the location of the hotel was perfect
Location, Location, location. Good breakfast. low quality amenities in the bathroom. Furniture are old and wary.
The staff was very helpfull. The location of the hotel was of easy access. Have coffee, tea available in the room
Unfortunately the pools are the only things I can say are fabulous at this Hotel. The bed in our room was really uncomfortable. The wasps and the mosquitos are a real problem here. You will need all the anti mozzie and wasp spray to prevent being attached beside the pool or at breakfast in the restaurant. The meals and drinks were really expensive. You can however find alternative restaurants within a 10 - 15 walking distance depending on which turn you make when you come out of the hotel.
The place is beautiful, the view is fantastic. Some of the staff was outstanding (special mention for the dinner waiter of the swimming pool restaurant). Some times the room service was really slow. The lunch buffet is too expensive for the quality and variety it (doesn't) provides. The restaurant in the swimming pool has a good quality of food but extremely small portions for the prices!
Good location with beautifull panoramic views. Well maintained hotel. Although not really 5 stars according to European standards. Price of drinks and meals are extraordinary. Rental car is a must, as location is pretty remote. Atmosphere not really charming.
nice place, romantic, restaurant The reception is very polite but unfortunately not fully qualify.
we thought the breakfast wast excellent. The staff very professional and helpful.. The common rooms very elegant and luxurious. the gym could be bigger
pool, garden, food, services, entertainment program, rooms no
Beautiful location and excellent facilities; plentiful free breakfast buffet. The room was missing towels and an extra blanket (which was needed) when we arrived, but this was fixed quickly when noted to reception (though it should not have happened in the first place). The restaurant choices were limited and surprisingly not Greek. One buffet and one a la carte restaurant; limited alternatives close by outside the property.
Everything was beyond our expectations. Location, breakfast, staff friendliness and of course the price thru booking.com
The fact that it was very close to the city of Corfu but not in a crowded area There were quite a lot of things that i did not like. Having visited many 5 stars hotels and only these summer another 2 in greek islands (Lindian Village in Rhodes and Saint John's in Mykonos) I can tell that this hotel does not deserve the 5 stars. The reasons are: 1. The facilities and generally the building is very old. The corridors remind oh hospital rather than 5 star hotel. 2. The room although it had a sea view and balcony, could not be used due to the fact that right underneath it was the kitchen and you could not even open the door from the smell. 3. The curtains in the room were not enough to keep the sun in the morning and we had to wake up every day at 7.45 as the room was east oriented. 4. The mini bar was empty 5. The towels
But we had a problem with our room, it was not enough dark in our room: when the sun rises at 6.30 we were awake, some rooms were situated next to the kitchen so we heard all the kitchennoise every early morning and evening. These are 2 major problems which do not belong in a 5 star resort at all. But after complaining they changed our room, we had something much better, partly because we are member of the privilege club of Grecotel. There are much better 5 star resorts of Grecotel (even 4 stars) than this one. Rooms or more 4 star and service 5 star. Breakfast was poor, if you compare it to the breakfast of Kos Imperial Grecotel! Drinks too expensive!
The hotel is very convenient for the port and staff very freindly and helpful Beds rather hard
Near the ferry
good location for travelers ,excellent view to the sea port ,good service & acceptable prices .also parking availability .
We required a hotel near the ferry ports and this was ideal for that purpose. Its clean and basic. It is very basic and is not worth more than 60 euro per night. It is an ideal transit hotel would not recommend as a weeks holiday hotel.
The seaview. Very noisy road outside and breakfast overpriced.
Setting, location, staff an ambience Nothing - it ws excellent
Near to the center but in very quiet street. Beautiful room, all was very nice, little garden for breakfast was perfect too
Taking breakfast in the beautiful courtyard under the magnificent mangolia tree was the best momment of our stay. The historic house was beatifully restored. Hotel decoration was subtle and chic. Enjoyed the Korres toiletries. Staff was very polite and helpful. Bathroom was very cramped. Sound proofing was problematic in the room. Please replace or simply remove the tacky carpet on the staircase leading to the first floor.
Totally charming plus really helpful staff
A small cute hotel, just in the down-town, with a small green garden inside. Our bathroom was not small, but really tiny, microscopical!! That was very uncomfortable but that was the only negative factor.
Location very good. In the center of old town .
Excellent locationVery friendly and helpful staff
A lovely family run hotel in an ideal location. The views from the hotel are absolutely stunning. The food is home cooked, delicious and very fairly priced. Overall, I would definately recommend the hotel to friends and family and will definately book to stay again. A wonderful holiday, in a lovely hotel, on the beautiful island of Corfu.
I was made very welcome. The staff were extremely helpful and believe in the personal touch 24/7. The restaurant was flexible and authentic - delicious food cooked fresh to order. Lovely sea view. Easy access to rest of island from regular buses that stopped right outside hotel. The road immediately outside was a slight drawback but it made for brilliant access to buses.
Very nice family run hotel. The staff and the service was excellent. The hotel did not have a swimming pool, and there were no beds on the beach. However, a 5-star hotel 500m away had a very nice swimmingpool.
great staff, good location in the town, pleasant garden attached to sit and have breakfast / drinks.... good, very clean rooms. always a problem to secure parking and even pull over in front of hotel when arriving by car. However, this is the typical problem throughout the center of Corfu Town!
Attitude of the staff. Without exception, they tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Also the delightful garden.
A haven of peace in a very busy town. Everything is done well. Room not quite big enough. Mainly English clientele.
The helpful and friendly staff at the reception desk and in the breakfast room. The excellent buffet breakfast in a charming garden room. The very comfortable bed. The bathroom, especially the shower, in the first room we stayed in was very small indeed - much better in the adjouning room where we stayed on the return visit.
The location is very convenient for the town centre, and the staff are excellent. The rooms are too small, and the breakfast is dull
The staff are excellent - extremely friendly and there is nothing they will not do for you. They made me feel most welcome. The hotel is surrounded by excellent restaurants and it may be an idea to offer food delivery to the rooms by one of the neighbouring restaurants.
The location was great and the staff was very accomodating. The services and food were exactly as advertised. I would recommend this hotel to others. The bathroom was very small. Although clean and updated, it was a bit challenging for two to use comfortably.
very comfortable and in a good location for exploring the town At times I had to get reception to switch the aircon on as if you opened a window the air con would switch off and could not be put back on in the room
Very nice room with high ceiling and comfortable bed. Well isolated with double glass windows, quiet at night. Breakfast a bit plain.
The view from the high floor front corner room, clean, nicely furnitured, central location.
Its excellent location at the heart of Corfu Town's social scene, good restaurants and coastal walks No proper lounge/bar (there was one but you could not see the bar!) and no resturant.
The views of Liston and the fortress were breathe taking and location was easy walking distance to anything one might want to see, do or eat. Double bed was two separate twins pushed together and pillows uncomfortable. Also, site said full toiletries which did not include shampoo, conditioner or soap
The location at the heart of historical Corfu Town would be difficult to beat and the double glazing ensured a decent night's sleep but the hard bed did not make for a comfortable night
The hotel was clean and pleasant and centrally located for the old part of Corfu Town. Everything in the room worked well. The breakfast was excellent. The noise from the motorcyle park outside meant that it was actually difficult to sleep there. In addition piped music was playing outside the room all night so when the motorcyles calmed down there was still music playing.
The cleaniness, the location, pleasant staff
Perfect location, but a little expensive. Very poor breakfast
Location Arrogant morning recepionist and impolite breakfast staff, I believe that there is no way to get a room with balcony via booking. Most of rooms do not have nice view. There is no difference in price or any notification from the bookng site or the hotel. We asked for double bed in upper floor and nice view and we got lower floor, twin bed with the worst view to a narrow corridor. No kettle, bad breakfast. No way to cancel booking via site. Hotel policy needs amendment.
All the services was perfect while I stay here - view, room, breakfast, staff. Also the location is really good to enjoy Old city and the other. From the room I could see the old fortress and the strada(?) park. Also the breakfast was really good than any other 5star hotel. Coffee was nespresso and had various bread. I really enjoyed. No.
Excellent location. Clean. Quiet, even being in the very city center. Good breakfast. No personal touch in service. Bathroom not too comfortable. Aging room furniture.
location is very good
The room was confortable. The walls were so thin you could literally here an ink pen fall on the desk next door.Easter is a very busy time and parking was limited. Once Easter was over, the breakfast buffet went from excellent to poor. They reduced the selection by at least 70%.
staff and clean
Chamber system is good and I liked the swimming pool, good service and good restaurant a bit. Who did not like gym too small and doing many of the Aldoap is received and needed in every gym and internet why I can clamp in the room
The location of the hotel is excellent. From the balcony of our great room we had the best panoramic view of Meteora. The place is furnished and decorated beautifly and is very clean. The owners are very friendly and helpfull. We would highly recommend this hotel!
this is not a 4 star hotel. be aware that this has been issued by the greek tourist board and is not how a 4 star hotel should be percieved. i will never stay at this hotel again and recomend that it is taken off booking.com as a 4 star hotel. it also has the same name as a nice 4 star hotel in corfu town. there are great views and noise from a runway, and is in a run down part of town do not stay here. you can find much nicer places run by the locals. you have been warned! it is a disappointment
excellent location, nice room-views, spacious, well designed rooms, very polite staff, wide food range for breakfast, definitely recommend it!
Only buffet diners, pool area full of beer drinking teenagers with glass bottles and glases, no safety thoughts around this issue.
So much space, clean value for money and friendly staff.
The weather. The night manager/receptionist on duty was extremely unhelpful. He was more concerned about where my husband had parked than checking us in let alone welcoming us. He refused to help with our luggage. The location of the hotel was dreadful and not what we had been expecting.the only food available was a very poor ham and cheese sandwhich on Mothers Pride bread and a bag of crisps - a poor start to our Greek experience. The breakfast standard of food was appalling, with the exception of the bread,
very friendly & helpful staff location
The fact that it was a family run business made everything more personnal. Costas and Helen Brentanos were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. The location was perfect for exploring the rest of the island with a hire car and the wonderful swimming pool in the morning was a great place to plan the rest of your day.
The manager and his wife are lovely persons, all time ready to help and to make you feel good. The hotel is on a green hill and has excellent pool.
Everything. Family owned. Very nice couple operating. Breathtaking views of the water. It is hard to believe that there are still places like this anymore. A/C works better that that in my car. I took a bunch of business cards to share with my coworkers. I plan on spending holiday there over and over. Only bed sheets. But the weather was perfect. Just opened up the doors on the balcony and let the warmth off the water keep the room at a good temp.
It is beatiful hotel with friendship athmosphere and good service for money it cost's.
The staff were very welcoming. We like the privacy and space of an apartment. The pool was beautiful and there was a great view of the water from the pool and the suite.
Very nice and helpfull staff. Excellent location with magnificent view. Clean rooms. -
The hospitality of the owner, Mr Kostas Brentanos is unforgettable. The orange and lemon trees around the apartments are impressive as well as the sea view from the balcony. The beach nearby is not as good as in the other parts of the island.
Clean and comfortable room, in a quiet area, helpful staff. Easy access to the city of Corfu by car.
The people of the apartments were very nice. The pool was really beautifull en the view was amazing!!! The sanitary was a bit old.
Everything is ok, nice, quiet, clean with very friendly owners who can help you any time. Amazing swimming pool.
No comfort, very far from city center, no restaurant
The Ariti is well located in the Konani peninsula (10 euro taxi drive from the airport) with a pair of very nice local cuisine restaurants, a mini-market, a car rental place, a tourist shop and even a Starbucks within 150m or less. The hotel in front of the Ariti has a Casino and they had no trouble with one showing up. The Ariti itself is clean, spacious and what you would expect from a 3 star hotel. Ok, here is were most reviews focus on. It is really, really close to the airport and some claim that the noise if unbearable. this is not true. Yes you can hear the planes land and leave but we almost did not notice it. The pool was not functional because they were in repairs (and the tourist season was over, they are really serious about the tourist season so if you are planning to go after mid-November do not expect most tourist tours or stores to be open). There is no wifi internet, and the response to when it will be available is always tomorrow (which became the joke of the trip). So if you are in a budget or have to attend an event at the Aquis 5 star hotel and cannot afford it, then definitely stay here (it is literally in front)
Easy parking, polite staff, good room size, nice balcony with view of pool, spacious restaurant So close to airport that the aircraft noise was too loud and needed windows to be closed but Air con not very efficient. Fridge - black, mouldy and smelly. Toilet brush had never been bleached looked horrible. Pool not working due to too much rain and lack of chemicals
a very quiet environnement in winter time no kettles available in the rooms
polite stuff, easy access to the center by car only 10 minutes, clean, comfortable rooms breakfast needs improvement
