Very comfy bed and very friendly staff! Shower wasn't separated from the rest of the bathroom, so the entire bathroom floor was soaked.
Just as advertised, comfortable and functional room at an affordable price, just a couple of minutes away from airport security as well as train station. The space available is quite tight, so don't expect to 'enjoy' it much (even though bed is very comfortable and shower is very nice), this is no leisure hotel, but rather 'get it done' style accommodation. After using the shower, the floor is wet so if you need to use the toilet after you'll be stepping on water and then out again onto the carpet. Again, functional but less than ideal. Maybe the floor should be slightly tilted in the shower so it drains/dries quicker.
So convient in the south terminal at gatwick. Clean and everything you need for one night. Didn't hear any planes, which I was worried about.
it was IN the airport terminal The terminal is DEPRESSING. No WINDOWS! It’s like a little luxury prison cell. There was no private area in the hotel to do online work, went to one of the more human feeling pub-like restaurants.
location was why I selected this hotel. location was excellent Very expensive!
Ease of accessing the internet
Staff were friendly. Room very clean. Beds comfortable, not sagging in my middle as some are. Excellent location for Gatwick airport travellers. Good restaurants. Priced reasonably. They view! But cannot help that. But the large windows were nice.
The location is excellent. Staff were efficient but a little arrogant. Problems connecting to the internet in the room. The connection was very slow. The location of the room safe at floor-level is ridiculously inconvenient. The safe did not work. I'll try the Hilton next time.
The best part was the access to the airport which allowed us to wake up and check in easily. The location was fantastic and the staff were very very helpful. Will definitely use this hotel everytime i am flying out of gatwick.
location to the terminal restaurant was expensive
The lovely atrium and the easy access to Gatwick airport together with helpful and friendly staff.
The Softel is less than five minutes walk from the Gatwick check-in desks via a slopped covered walkway. The staff were efficient and the atmosphere throughout warm and friendly. An excellent place to spent the before an early flight, I would definitely stay again.
Convenient location on airport Price of room service breakfast
Ease and access to airport None
There wasn't anything not to like. We arrived at 7.00 pm and left at 5.00 a.m. Did not like the restaurant. We booked a table and the food was not up to the standard we would have expected.
The location is great, rooms clean and staff helpful. Waiting for the lifts became quite a pain. I was lucky on the 2nd floor so could take the stairs, but even at 5am it was difficult. Wanted to try the restaurant too, but very busy - would have had to wait over an hour - lucky there's lots nearby or across at the south terminal.
The staff were friendly and courteous and very helpful. Food was good and rooms comfortable and clean.
Very close to airport Lack of check in service
Check-in was quick and easy, room was very clean and new, despite being attached to the airport it was extremely quiet, and the wifi was excellent. The included breakfast was fantastic - huge and varied - much appreciated before an early morning flight. Also had dinner in the same lounge area the night before and all of the staff who served us were lovely. Highly recommend this hotel and will stay again. The only negative I can come up with is that it is in the north terminal and I was flying out of the south, but that's hardly much of an issue because the tram between the two is all of a 3 minute walk from the hotel door.
I booked for 2 nights, flight problems lead to me missing my first night and arriving very late the next. On arrival I was lead to believe my booking had been canceled and the hotel was full After 2 hours I was given a room and my booking re-instated. Why was this necessary, I had a booking, I arrived, to wait until 3:30am to be given my room was almost unbelievable.
Convenient to Terminal , very quiet room with excellent facilities.
Great location for an overnight connection. Clean, comfortable rooms, good breakfast
closeness to airport hotel smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals
The bed was extremely comfortable but overall the atmosphere was very sterile. Terminal size reception...................
I paid in advance, yet they insisted that I submit my credit card again. The girl at reception said smething along the lines " people smoke in rooms and do damage ". Jeepers!!
This hotel was very convenient ,the close proximity to Gatwick and shuttle makes it great.. Staff very professional and friendly.. Will highly recommend ..My husband and I will come back again and again.. Liked everything..
Pleasant staff, comfortable beds Food & drink expensive
Walking distance to gatwick, good quality, new, v good value for money None
Modern, clean and comfortable room, walking distance from terminal.
Very clean, great location Shower head was broken but we did not report this since we were only staying for the night.
The silence, 3 lair windows and carpets everywere. High internet price
Breakfast Buffet was excellent. Too far from North terminal. Would prefer somewhere close so that we canwalk over to the terminal.
it was close to the airport and train station. the rooms were much better than I thought they would be. we usually stay at a hotel closer to the airport across the road from you but the rooms are terrible. i was surprised that i needed a newspaper other than the Independent (i needed a tv guide) and considering there are no shops close by there were non available in fact i dont think there was any kind of shop unless you walked back to the airport. The receptionist told me to walk to a petrol station across some fields!! also the check in girl was quite unfriendly.. not the best start, the room made up for it. there was another older woman sitting at a desk she was great.
The hotel was very modern and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent as was the buffet breakfast in the morning. The buffet breakfast did not open until 6:30am which was too late for catching an early morning flight. I had to wait at the check-in for quite a few minutes while the staff talked to each other and ripped up coupons. I thought they were busy but eventually asked if they could help us.
Having to use the bus, waiting for it ,paying for it loading and unloading bags
Convenient for airport - eg close to terminal, shuttle bus - reasonable room and facilities, sound staff, reliable re cleanliness etc and very quiet - an important point! Good breakfast Slight feeling, at dinner, that I was being leaned on a bit too much to eat and drink more than I needed!
The convenience I needed for my contact woth some old friends, and closeness to Airport and related transport options for travel when not hiring a car. The rooms were very small for a so called upgrade .Also a very worn old easy chair for one person only in a Double room.
Convenient location and pleasant atmosphere No
proximitry to airport and ease of access
Comfortable bed, very close to Gatwick When you first pull in there are cars everywhere. They are parked on the double yellow and the grass so it looks like it's going to be difficult to park. Then you pull around back and there is a HUGE, almost empty car park. I guess people are just too lazy to see that there is also an entrance to the hotel at the back.
My stay was short, but comfortable. good service and close to the airport for travellers. would highly recommend to passengers from gatwick. online price very reasonable
close to the airport shower is poor and did not work properly
Very attentive staff in the Hub Bar/Resturant area, excellent service. As this was the first time we used Holiday Inn Gatwick we were surprised to find cars parked in the shuttle bus area causing us to wait almost 15 minutes as we could not get passed for the cars. We had had a very long drive to get there and the 15 minute wait seemed like hours. If only 2 cars directly under the reception canopy were removed there would be many people that would not be inconvenienced in this way..
As expected for a Holiday Inn, staff was fantastic, great location if you want a quick overnight hotel for an early morning flight. The GBP3 shuttle bus only takes about 15 mins from Gatwick South and only 5-10 from the hotel to Gatwick South. All in all, a great bargain for only GBP49. The room did not have a minibar/minifridge, which was a pain because I had some things I wanted to keep fresh for the next day flight. Also, very little free tv channels compared to their "100+ channels" advertising. The mattress wasn't what you would get at a 5 star (obviously), but definitely better than your average budget hotel.
Location Beds could be more comfortable.
Location close to terminal.Convenience for early flight.Access to reasonable food.
single room to small had to upgrade single cabin bed
Located just outside the arrival hall, perfect if you arrive from a long trip and want to stay overnight. Very quiet room. Room was very small, but with a comfortable bed and a good shower, which is all you need for an airport staying. The room was not amazingly clean.
the staff was very nice and helpful, friendly.you cant expect more better location, its in the airport!
1.Right at the airport which allowed me to sleep a little longer not having to worry about transport to the terminal 2. bed was comfortable but could have been a little longer I am 191cm tall and found it a bit difficult to stretch out with the overhang of the wall at the foot of the bed 3. nice and quiet until the early morning rush of people getting ready to leave then there is the general noise of water running and bustling 1. Toilet was to close to the sink where it may cause some discomfort for heavy set people to sit 2. there was only one towel and no facecloth. There was no towel for the floor so once I was done showering I am walking barefoot outside the shower room which is the bathroom onto the room entrance where all the shoe grime is, since there is nowhere else to get dressed. 3. my control for the internet wasn't working properly, the mouse feature was stuck in upward position, I am certain the front desk would have replaced it but I only wanted to check my email quickly and couldn't be bothered getting out of bed and getting dressed to go to the front desk for that, maybe a weekly check of such details would avoid inconveniencing the customers.
vey convenient, comfortable and clean Excellent value
Comfortable bed...convenient if flying from Gatwick on an early morning flight. Reasonably priced. Could not open the door at reception with the code provided?? ...Then twice we could not enter the room/cabin with the keycard provided. Also rooms too small for two people , did not realise how small the rooms/cabins actually were...the cabins are only really suitable for a stopover for a single person.
Very cosy and compact. Extremely convenienent for overnight stay at airport Glass to bathroom was not misted so there was no privacy.
Clean, friendly, good value for money. Extremely convenient.
Clean, convenient, unexpectedly quiet. Great for 1 or 2 nights max. Great if you just need a place to crash. Charged me a 20% premium to check-in 2 hours early, when there was plenty room availability. Didn't allow me to turn off A/C.
Excellent, clean and efficient. I like the whole concept and the convenience to the airport terminals.
Convenient, excellent location. Very comfortable bed, good shower etc. quiet. No catering available, not really a problem as terminal facilities were 1 minute away
Complimentary breakfast buffet was great. Bed was decently comfortable. Room had an old musty/mouldy smell. Wifi was free for only 30 min. Towels didn't smell clean. Room overall needed to be updated. Stayed here because we had a flight layover overnight out of Gatwick and thought we could just walk to to hotel, but it's actually about a 5 min cab ride from airport.
The room was very clean and seemed to have been recently updated. I like that there was decaf coffee avail. The people at Reception were especially helpful. No tissues, toiletries or hairdryer in room
The hotel is tired. Thankfully, I was upgraded to a newer room. Mattress is super hard. To get to the room, you must walk tons. The hotel needs serious renovation. Because options are limited for overnight flight.
Our reservation was not in the system. They did not give us access to Internet for our booking but we understood that free Internet would be included based on the booking criteria.
Restaurant way over priced. Not many options for a reasonable, casual meal.
Great location A little pricey!
Proximity to airport The hotel is terribly maintained. Had to switch rooms twice due to bathroom related maintenance issues. They finally put me in a decent room on the executive lounge, which was OK but even that had its issues. AC was terrible and the spacing between the bathroom sink and faucet was very awkward, making it difficult to effectively wash your hands. All in all a pretty bad hotel. The staff was nice though.
Location and staff very old decor in room and bathroom, the bed was uncomfortable, missing towels and only one set of pillows were provided
Location and very comfortable bef Everything is fine for me
The best part of this hotel is that it is so close to the London Gatwick hotel it may as well be a part of it. Very convenient! There could be a few more amenities to may the stay more memorable.
The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. We could only find one working ice machine in the hotel. The bed bugs we encountered weren't very pleasant either.
The convenience of the location, the beds were very comfortable. Our air conditioner was broken when we arrived and the room was incredibly hot. The engineer was very nice and apologized quickly and requested a room change. It then took concierge a further hour to relocate us (10 rooms down the hall). At which point our children were completely starving and exhausted. The food in the garden restaurant buffet was mostly good, though expensive, but we were seated in a dark corner because we were a family, where the staff were already setting the tables for breakfast around us. Service was polite but very slow and waiters were unaware of the fact that children ate for free.
easy access to gatwick airport with pick up/drop off by the hotel. after europe did find it rather expensive to eat and bar prices very high, but this is england!
The young man who picked me up at the airport and checked me in was extremely helpful in pointing me toward some of the nearby sights I would otherwise have missed. Entire staff was friendly, helpful and just all-around nice. I loved the community, and the hotel's location, and the convenience of the airport transfers made entire visit outstanding. I would absolutely stay there again, and would highly recommend to others.
I liked the convenient airport transportation. Relaxing and friendly lounge in which to have a drink. Room was comfortable, clean and warm. Great place to stay to catch a flight at Gatwick. No complaints.
Very reasonably priced.
An excellent hotel. Superb location with a fabulous atmosphere. Great staff.
Ease of getting around, helpful and friendly staff, generally quiet location
Since we didn't need to use their 5 GBP shuttle service to Gatwick, their price was goodl. Bar nice but empty, did not try the food. Proximity to Six Bells pub was the best feature. Parking tight and tricky.
Lovely boutique hotel, clean, fresh with lots of character, will stay again.
friendliness of staff and Pub down stairs. I suggest people choose the continental breakfast!
Easy access to the airport with complimentary shuttle to and from. A nice breakfast included with room price.
TV control doesn't work
Very close to Gatwick Airport. Helpful, friendly staff. Very nice hotel. As window didn't open, had to leave air conditioning on all night which was very noisy, so didn't sleep very well.
Convenient location Noise of air conditioning system, inability to get fresh air into room, always having to wait for attention at reception
Location poor from airport ....No Air con in rooms and windows couldnt open .Water cold in shower ...a dreadful experience for a Ramada Hotel .
very clean / friendly staff limited wine list that was overly expensive.
restful & quiet atmosphere, giving us time to unwind after a hectic 6week tour of the U.K.. Staff were helpful & very pleasant,& food was great.
Absolutely aweful service, terrible customer relations, poor food.. no choice. Room service was a joke! Had to help other customers...
First time I have had to pay for a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. The whole point in staying near the hotel is that normally you get free courtesy transport
the room was clean and tidy on arriving at the hotel you have to pay for your car parking even for the time you are staying in the hotel. The hotel even those it has a 4 star rating there is no one to take your bags and show you to your room
The room was very clean and comfortable. The que for checking in was quite long and we waited a while.
It was fair stay but not comfortable......the service must improve ...also the menu must be changed and finally the stafff must inform their customers about the breakfast time,we asked the reception and they said breakfast is served till 10.30pm and when we came down at 9.30..they advsied that it's finished... service and menu....
Clean and wide room very low water pressure from the tap
It's in a great central location, so you can go out in Crawley & eat/drink/shop etc. Even though it's next to the railway line, we didn't hear the trains. Hotel decoration lovely, very clean, very helpful staff and it has excellent facilities. Our room was very spacious & they'd thought of everything. En-suite was huge compared to other hotels, it had a separate bath & shower. Lots of thought had been put into the design & comfort of the room/hotel. Really pleased with the hotel & we'd definately stay there again, especially if we were taking our daughter, as there are connecting rooms. Also have a shuttle bus to Gatwick airport which is really close by, but again didn't hear any noise from the planes.
The staff is very friendly and hard working The trains are very loud
Easy to access train from hotel, airport and city of London. Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy walking distance to a local mall.
close to station, high standrad of facilities, excellent food.
Charged for 2 breakfast but was alone. Should have asked me first before charging.
wide and clean room The reservation through Arora hotel web site does not work.
Generally good, but WiFi sign in system a hassle and card swipe door keys real pain rarely if ever worked first time and usually took 3-4 tries at least.
Easy to find location from website and is signposted when on the approaching road. Polite friendly staff and clean hotel.
the mattress and bedding was excellent paying for the parking
Convienent location Dreadfull catering & and catering staff
Everything provided that was needed and rooms clean. No. other than we had to lift our cases into the car taking us to airport (we are not young people) but the driver was female so there was no way round it.
near the airpot cheaper then going to London and overnight rather old matresses on beds
My daughter and I stayed. Lovely place!
Easy to book, location was excellent for walk into town and proximity to Gatwick. Lodgings were clean and in good order The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in.
Clean - nice room with ensuite - quiet - friendly
free parking charged extra for credit card although not stated in booking.com , heating was not working , Unclean room , internet down , early checkout and staff not friendly
This hotel is excellent for flights from Gatwick.the Management and staff are both friendly, courteous and helpful
they kindly allowed me to store my bags between check-out and my late afternoon flight. the bathroom was very clean. lovely house. •WIFI: the wifi internet was super slow, and then shut down entirely. unacceptable in a developed country. •DIRTY: there was a old fan in the room that turned on, but didn't blow any air. the wiring around the fan was entirely coated in dust. disgusting. it clearly had not been cleaned in months, which shows a lack of attention to detail. •CHECKOUT: checkout is at 10am. considering people have afternoon flights, would it really kill them to allow guest to checkout at 11am or noon? i never heard of a 10am checkout at such a small guest house. •ODD: the owner quoted a 7 pound taxi to the airport but it was 8. i don't care about the money, but this again shows a lack of attention to detail considering they must send several people to the airport daily. not knowing the price of such a core part of the stay seems strange.
Close proximity to Gatwick. Also had a train stop close by. The bed was not so comfortable. Very lumpy.
Friendly and helpful staff, good service, hotel facilities clean and in good order, no problems. None apart from the weather!
Pleasant and friendly staff; Easy to find location; Enjoyable breakfast; Generally, very clean throughout. Guest House staff didn't know we had booked and it was a bit embarassing on arrival; Very cold in the bedroom, with no portable heater available, when asked.. Decor, is 'dated' and tired throughout some of the Guest House
Welcoming and helpful Main road noise in ground floor room.
The warm friendly attitude of the owners and staff when my arrival flight was delayed and the welcome next morning to an excellent breakfast. Highly recommended.
The free collection and return to Gatwick airport was excellent and well organised with all the information about freephone and telephone number arriving by email. It is a family run hotel and everyone was very friendly and helpful. We were advised to reserve a table at the nearby 'pub' which we did and where we had a delicious evening meal. The breakfast was excellent and the conservatory very pleasant for relaxing in.
Closeness to transport and able to use laptop in room nice and clean and good choice of breakfast (Not any) only that it is not a hotel but a guest house and on arrival from air port on asking about the gatwick house hotel no one knew there was a hotel called that on that I did not mind it being a guest as it was just as good
clean comfortable room near good pub woth good menu
This is a little gem. Very close to Gatwick without airport noise. The innkeepers are wonderful, the rooms super clean and comfortable, close to a charming pub that serves hearty fare until 10pm. Wonderful.
Near to the airport. Staff were nice.
breakfast available at any time after I arrived
Comfortable beds! nothing, great experience.
First class service from start to finish. Couldn't have been more helpful thank you.
Staff were very attentive and friendly. The room smelled of smoke when I first arrived. The walls were thin and I could every sound from the room next door. Breakfast was only continental.
Room was small but very clean and pleasant. The owner was very helpful and very prompt shuttling to and from the airport. I would stay here again and have recommended to a friend.
Cleanliness, transportation to and from airport and staff friendliness Breakfast service could have been better
The Guest House was close to Gatwick and it was very handy to be driven to the airport. The owner also recommended a great pub where we had a very good meal. ( we would never have found it on our own). The reservation was waiting for us and the room was lovely.
Extremely clean and beautiful room but the internet did not work and my son had to re roue it and there was no one around to ask. See above
friendly and amiable owners. 10 minute easy walk to town. no
It had a quiet peaceful atmosphere and is reasonably close to the airport
Although we didn't use the car parking facility, it is very good value for momey. The shuttle bus was on time, clean and convenient. The bar prices were expensive. We had to carry all our luggage for a two week holiday upstairs as there was no lift
Very conveniently located and food was good. When we first checked in, the TV didn't work and it was no trouble for staff to change us to another room - we were staying 4 nights. Mattress on our bed was not comfortable and bed creaked every time we moved - not good for a mature couple.
ease of check in and airport transfers stairs to rooms
Large clean rooms with good facilities and hotel was easy to find.
Location Near Airport, Bar Meals Available, Free Transport Pick Up Just Pay £4 pp For Hoppa Bus Return To Airport.Very Reasonable Hotel Stopover All Round Good Value Airport Overnight Hotel.
Close proximity to Gatwick Airport pleasant reception area to relax after a long journey Poor reception on TV in rooms.I had 2 rooms and had travelled for more than 2 hours and we all wanted to unwind before eating
I liked nothing about the hotel. The staff on arrival where rude and un friendly. The staffs attitude. We booked a meet and greet and ended up waiting a further 20 minutes for my car to turn up. This was even when we contacted them as soon as we had landed.
nice big rooms Reception staff could of been better, they put me in the wrong room twice!
I Parking was next to impossible because of the number of cars belonging to people using Gatwick, cars were coming and going at all hours. Had I known it was a Gatwick Parking hotel I would have gone elsewhere. The hotel advertising should indicate that their main guests were people travelling through Gatwick.
Friendly and efficient owner. Excellent breakfast and convenient for early morning flights
I like the most facilities in room about the tea/coffee,hot chocolate with cookies and also cleanliness of the guest house. I had a good sleep. Have very limited vegetarian breakfast.
I liked that we could have breakfast at any time we wanted (e.g. 5.00) and that they ordered the taxi to the airport for us (and payed it).
We were extremely comfortable. The room was very clean (smelled great) and dust free though a tad small but the bed was most comfortable. Teas, coffees and cookies greet you when you walk into the room..... wonderful idea. The bathroom was fabulously tidy and the shower was relaxing. The breakfast prepared by the host was fabulous. The grounds were pretty and secure. It was very close to Town where we shopped and within walking distance too nice eating places, pubs, and a laundertte and so we didn't rent a car. It was also very close to Gatwick Airport, the Horley Train Station and the buses. Taxis arranged by the hotel were on time. All in all, we made an excellent choice. It felt much like a home...less like a hotel.
This is the second time we have used Rosemead and on both occasions we have been delighted with service received. We will use the guesthouse on future journeys without a doubt.
Reception was very responsive to my e-mail queries. Room was comfortable and clean. Free wireless internet was a big plus. None.
Good value for the money, rooms were roomy for two adults and two children, excellent cooked to order breakfast, convenient to Gatwick airport. Decent selection of restaurants within walking distance. The bathroom had an unpleasant odor, but was clean.
In the room there was everything you could need from razors to a folder that had every takeaway/restaurant menu in the area.
Bed was comfortable and the place was decent Owner had very bad communication skills and acted as if we were intruding when we needed help with something. Heard afterwards from others that she runs people off with attitude.
Nice staff, tasty freshly cooked breakfast, nice garden, clean rooms, real English countryside house, free of charge shuttle to and from Gatwick. When booking this hotel please pay attention, that check-in hours are between 4 PM and 11 PM. If you arrive early you might not get in and better wait at the airport until check-in time.
