It was clean and easily accessible to Arlington attractions. Breakfast buffet was very good, but not great. Options included waffles, egg/cheese omelettes, sausage, scrambles eggs with tortillas and an assortment of your typical continental breakfast offerings such as packages pastries, cereals, fruit, bagels, etc. We booked a Junior Suite that was really just a normal room with a king bed and a long hallway between the sleep area and the door. I expected a sitting area with a couch and just a little more space. To me, this was just a standard single with a king bed. Have Best Westerns standardized on the square pillows? I've never slept at a hotel with only small square pillows on the bed. And they weren't even large sqares. They were really only appropriate for small throw pillows for the couch (that I didn't have). I called and asked for larger, normal pillows and I was informed that this is all they had available.
I liked the location for the purposes we were there and the hotel was very clean The pool is kind of small but it is outside which was great. The breakfast was eh
It was a nice hotel for one night stay close to the ballpark Needs more blankets and pillows for the pull out bed ask the front desk for some more and they said they didn't have anymore
Hotel was quiet and comfortable. Staff was helpful when needed. Pool was clean and very enjoyable. Hotel was located near a busy highway and occasionally some traffic noise was noticeable. Plastic bags in ice buckets not quite large enough (but this is a problem in every hotel I have stayed in).
The shower seemed to be an afterthought
Clean room Bad service, lack of preparation for customer. Didn't do their best to make sure my wife and I were comfortable during our stay.
-Friendliness of staff -Cleanliness -Awesome Breakfast which catered to all tastes
not much that I did not get what I asked for I payed for room with a king bed and got one with a double and did not want smoking and was given a room for smoking
Nothing This place was aweful !!!!
AC worked Everything else
The lobby staff was friendly and the lobby was kept nice. Local police patrolled often, especially at night. Streetwalkers, crackheads, and meth monkeys seemed to like this place. Half the lights in our rooms didn't work, coffee makers were missing parts, TV was snowy, one mirror broken in half, 3 in bathroom had nail polish graffitti, and when we checked in, there was some woman's clothing under our sink counter...........everything from the waist to (and including) the socks. Constant traffic at night, usually accompanied by LOUD rap music and yelling, whistles, etc. IF STAYING MORE THAN ONE NIGHT, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR KEY CARD RENEWED EVERY DAY!!!!!! They don't tell you this when you check in.......
Half the lights and electrical outlets did not work, round seat on oblong toilet, towels were very thin, very dirty. No hangers in the closet. Had to ask for a "do not disturb" sign. Ice machine did not work. We bid on a 2-star hotel, this was definitely not a 2-star rating, would have to struggle to be a 1-star. This was sold as a Baymont Inn and Suites, but Motel 6 had just bought it out, probably because it was too run down to be considered Baymont. Not sure how the rooms would have ever been considered 'suites'.
Just an old and run down hotel. Fortunately the cost for the room was cheap. Bad coffee, questionable hairs on bathroom, and carpet old and dirty. TV didn't work.
Good location and good price. Unclean and very run-down. We stayed one night and did not stay the second night we had planned. We found another hotel.
Nothing at all. I'm a 23 year old male and don't care about much, thought it was good for the money...boy was I wrong. We rented two rooms for the Patriots Cowboys game and all 4 beds had bed bugs. There was a condom in the pool gunshots at night and I don't think that one of the staff spoke English. I would never stay here again!!
N/A There were dark stains all over the carpet, my non-smoking room smelled vividly of cigarette smoke, and there were bed bugs on both beds. I have never stayed at a worse hotel in my life, even when I lived in foreign countries. I will never stay here again
Luggage, laptop and kids clothing was danaged by roof leakage. Rowdy occupants and risky business going on. Dirty sheets and broken tv. Had to change rooms 3 times. Was not clean enough for my two month old and manager has yet to call back about damages made on their behalf. Luggage, laptop and kids clothing was danaged by roof leakage. It was clean but thats about all, very run down . The beds were lumpy and cery uncomfortable. The air dudnt work half the time.people were in the pool all hours of the night. Looked like there were hookersstaying there. The staff was rude, the microwave burnt all my popcorn, the tub dripped constantly, the pillows need to be replaced.
Didn't like anything about the motel it had mold all over the bathroom it smelled really bad I check out and went to another motel It was horrible!!!!
I loved the Staff and customer service! Those brilliant smiles serves great Texas hospitality! There was nothing I didn't like! The Gaylord is home away from home!
The Gaylord Texas was a great stay. We had problems when I got to the hotel (but not with the Gaylord Texan) we called the front desk and they moved us into a larger king size room, large enough to fit two roll away beds for the kids at no extra charge. After this problem the vacation was wonderful. When I booked the hotel room I put down 4 adults where I thought their would be enough room for all four but when we got to the room it was a standard size king room with only a king size room. I was expecting a pull out bed or at least couch for 4 adults. I would suggest showing a room layout for the consumer so someone doesn't get confused with what they are purchasing.
Looking at this place from the outside, you think it is going to be pretty Sweeeeeet! Overall it was, except for the room. Room was clean, but not close to being worth $250 a night. Room was more like what you would see in a 2.0 star hotel. Nothing to brag about at all. If the room was as nice as the rest of the resort you wouldnt be able to say much bad about this place. I would have to say they ARE understaffed for a place this large. Hard to find anybody to help you at times. Seriously, the staff was outstanding if you could find them. However, the rest of the resort was very nice. Actually beautiful atrium area with restaurants (Steak, Italian, Mexican food), good sized fountain, flowers, trees, and other things as well. There were quite of few shops as well bars and sports bars in the resort. They did have a Starbucks in the lobby as well (which made the wife happy as well as the rest of that loooooooong line waiting to get their fix). The water park they have (for guests only) was pretty nice. Adults and kids alike were all enjoying it. They did have a really nice bar there and also served food if you wanted to make a day of it. Overall, pretty nice place The room is a lot to be desired. Stayed at better rooms in a lot CHEAPER motels. Yes, it was clean, but for a $250 a night resort room, I would definitely expect more. A bit understaffed for a place this large. Hard to find anybody to help or even ask questions to, at times. Having to pay $19 dollars to SELF park is ridiculous But then so is $30 for them to park it for you.
Room was clean, if you have family there is a lot for kids to do (at least around xmas which is when we went) Glass Cactus club was neat. The pre-check in email asking what your preferences are... DON'T waste 1 minute of your time on that! asked for either a higher room/floor OR a view room... Specifically made a note in the comments that a room higher up was desired.. Got a parking lot, first floor room and the hall was FULL of kids and no parents! Kids were running up and down the halls all day and HALF the night... Also, restaurant staff was not very friendly, lost my reservation and then tried to make ME look like the fool.... But I had a confirmation email to prove the reservation.... So it was just a poor experience.. Staff was either great OR terrible... Grossly understaffed... I know for $220/night it felt more like a "fancy" 2.5 star hotel... I have had much better service at cheaper big-brand hotels and this hotels amenities dod NOT warrant the cost.. I had high hopes for this resort and sadly was let down..
This was a great trip!!! I would suggest this hotel to everyone. It was Christmas Time and the hotel was very festive!!!!
No mutch Every thing is under construction ;(
Pool and room temperature in pool area was not heated for enjoyment, too cold!!!
Always a pleasure Loud outside your room in mornings. Every employee is a tip whore. Get ready to dish out a lot of cash But they deserve it, ofcourse.
I loved everything there was to see and do there. Gorgeous! Everyone was very friendly. The room was tiny.
Love the look but too much concrete. Rooms are almost like large jail cells
Enjoyed my stay worth every penny Everything was great can't complain
overall design and look p-tac units were very noisy.
We caught a red eye flight into Dallas and were exhausted by the time we got out of the airport. Thank goodness for the staff, who allowed us to check in early at no extra charge to get some sleep! In addition to that, we had quite a few requests during our stay; we needed a mini fridge, needed to send a fax, I needed a spoon for my meal I had purchased elsewhere, I needed laundry done. The staff did all of these things without hesitation or judgement. Another great aspect was the facility. It was amazing how nice the facility was. And cool! I think this is the only hotel I have ever said that I can live at. The only con I came across was in the fitness center. There were some exposed wiring where the hotel had attempted to plug in the machines. This was unsightly and I am sure dangerous. Also, the stationary bicycle I used rocked quite a bit while using it. Some minor upgrades could be done, but totally worth the stay.
rooms were cool and it was in a cool area. liked it all
We liked the look of the hotel and that it was not surrounded by busy streets. When we got back to our hotel in the evening, it had 5 cop cars around it. The inside of the hotel was so loud you could not even hear yourself. There was a huge party going on downstairs. It continued on until late in the night. More cops came. The hall was super loud and when we asked them nicely to quiet down, they had stuff to say to us that was uncalled for. We called the front desk to ask them to see if they could talk to the other party occupants, and they never did.
The quite and relaxed setting Didn't see security on patrol
Overall fabulous. Clean, interesting, urban space. Good customer service and even a good restaurant.
Hotel had a very a young and hip vibe to it. Different than any other hotel I have stayed in. Very nice. Nothing bad to say.
It was clean. The bed was comfortable. The exercise room was nice. The staff members were friendly and helpful. Nothing
The decor! The moment I walked I was in awe. The bar, restraunt, pool area, lounge area, exercise area, and staff were all colorful, fun, and chill! No microwave and frigarator readily available. TV was off center from the bed.
I had an early flight and booked a room at the Westin the evening before to get some extra sleep.... Dropped my rental car off at the airport and it took 11/2 hours for the Westin Staff to pick me up at the airport after multiple phone calls and limited locations that they will pick you up at. Finally got back to the motel about 11:00 so much for the extra sleep as,.Not trusting the shuttle service, (they claim every 1/2 hour) we left one hour earlier so we could assure that we would make it on time...
I love the service .. They actually upgraded our room to suite because they didn't have a room with double beds available! I will refer and plan on visiting again thanks...
That I have to pay $20 for breakfast. Now I see why that Denny's is still in business.
It's the little extras. Retractable pen.. . Bathrobe.. . Leaf-shaped aloe soap. .. Extra towels. .. Chilled martini. .. Nice gym. ..Courteous shuttle driver. All in all, royal treatment.
Overall hotel was what I needed when my flight was canceled due to weather. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds and a bathroom with nice towels. The hotel was hosting the "Texas Foosball Championship" and apparently they were told they had rule of the hotel because they were all over with red solo cups making noise, until 3 am on floor 10 might I add. should also note I needed to be switched rooms when my door wouldn't stay locked properly. Slightly frustrating night when I just wanted to try to get a few hours of sleep before beginning another day of unintended flying.
The bed was fantastic and it was the best night of sleep we got during our entire vacation. Obviously, it's just a really nice and fancy hotel. You feel comfortable and clean the entire time. Would have loved to stay another night, but the rate doubled the second night, so we had to peace out. :( The staff wasn't terribly nice or attentive. Also, why is it impossible to call the front desk from the phones inside the rooms? Is this just normal nowadays?
After my reservation at a nearby hotel was cancelled without notice, the staff at the Westin were welcoming and informative. Great experience.
I loved having valet parking, help with my luggage and great bed. I requested that there be a crib in my room upon making reservation, (traveling with infant grandchild) and again just prior to my arrival AND upon check in. Went up to my room an hour later - - STILL NO CRIB. Was not able to call front desk from my room (used my cell each of THREE Times!!!) and there was NO CRIB delivered EVEN 4 hours later when the meal and speakers were done!!!! I left a nice tip for crib setup person, who, when it was finally delivered did a great job AND left a written 'thank you' note : )
Clean, quiet even during major storms and tornado watches, this hotel was perfect when American Airlines cancelled my flight 3 times from DFW to Austin.
We love the excellent service we have gotten from this hotel on back to back years, the staff is very friendly and super helpful. Especially so with our concierge Tony Santos he was wonderful he helped us with everything we needed and more.
Hotel rate and amenities. Flight path. Loud. Shower net door was loud too. Couldn't sleep when neighbors showered after 11:00 PM.
Wanted to add that management and staff were above and beyond accommodating . The double beds are just to small.
Very comfortable room. Trevi's restaurant was fantastic. Grout in shower needed to be replaced.
Staff was courteous and changed sheets upon our request, after we noticed stains and discoloration. Location was good. Filthy sheets and comforter. Stained and discolored sheets. Business center requested credit card to use computer, and charged to print when it had technical issues. Expensive snack bar in room. No Continental breakfast. Rooms need updating
The hotel was very nice and the staff was very nice and professional The price didn't match the room size also while I was there I didn't get much rest because there were a group of young teenagers in a room next door who kept making noise and going in and out of their room each time someone left out I could hear mind you I was there to enjoy and spend time with my fiancé before she left for California
The customer service was excellent! They were very eager to help in all our needs. We were very impressed and would stay here again.
The location is very nice right next to a lake-river it's beautiful!
Just overall friendly people and clean. Plus one of the most amazing place to eat in DFW is less than 1/10 of a mile from here! All male staff?!?!?
Great location an staff was very helpful
The suite I had was great! A well appointed room in which the bed was situated to look out the window. Room service was great. The food was good and a lot of choices that were not terribly expensive. I liked the bathroom had a shower separate from the tub. I stayed in my room and had a wonderful stay. I would go again. The Mokra spa that's attached to the hotel was also very nice. If you are a runner there is a 3 mile course that goes around the lake next to the hotel. Getting to the gym was a hike, think finding your way around the hotel in the Shining. Going to the lower levels of the hotel the smell was rather bad. It smelled like sewage. However, when I got to the gym it was a really nice gym for a hotel. It was large and very clean. The locker room was much better than expected. It housed a dry sauna and two showers. They had amenities such as toothpaste, mouthwash, and feminine products available.
The hotel was very nice, big, beautiful and wonderful location. My only problem was that the heat was not working in our room and the temperature outside was in the 30s that night. I woke up feeling extremely congested and realize my friend increased the heat to 89.5 degrees and was still sleeping in her pullover because the room was so cold. I didnt call maintenence to report issue because it was 4 in the morning when i realised the vents was only producing cold air and we were only staying one night. The girl at the front desk asked us how was our stay and i mention the temperature in the room. She asked if i reported last night I told her no. I have been fighting a cold since staying in this room. Other than that I would go back but I hope that they take the time to make sure thermostats are working before assigning guest their room. Also checkout is a 12pm two different cleaning ladies knocked on the door twice between the hours of 7am and 11am. Obviously, we hadn't checked out why were they knocking on our door. I worked in the hotel industry before and cleaning service knows which guest have checked by a reporr the front desk provides them. Other than that very nice hotel and the pros out weight the cons. You will not be disappointed especially since the hotel has a restaurant and popular bar. Also reasonable price resturant non chain food are 10 minutes away by car.
It was perfect for the weather and it would be perfect as a family getaway or couple getaway. The staff in the morning didnt notice me or pay much attention when i spoke to them and the night staff gave me quick answers as if not wanting to talk, in all CSR jobs a smile should be practiced and friendliness for your guests to feel welcomed. The shower was not cleaned properly, I found body hair all over it and my door kept getting jammed, I wasnt able to get into my room the card reader was broken. Other than that the place is gorgeous!
We arrived late after 3 am 5/11 in the morning, hotel staff (VERY RUDE AND ABRUPT) told us they automatically dropped reservation at 3am. They were able to give us a room until 12 noon 5/11, the cost $48 but we had to leave a $100 deposit (which we were told after checkout at 12:00 noon that it would take 2-3 days to return the deposit to credit card). We needed to stay only for a few hours, during this time there were two fire alarms going off - at approximate 7:30am and again at 9:45 am totally disrupted our sleep BECAUSE WE HAD TO EXIT THE BUILDING AND WAIT FOR FIRE ENGINE TO ARRIVE TO SAY IT WAS FALSE ALARM (TWO TIME) one of the fire men told me the hotel had a defective system. That was my experience.
Stayed here because our flight was cancelled. Proximity to DFW. Angelia at Aspen Creek is a fantastic server. Thank you for making this stay bareable. Unannounced $100 deposit, attached restaurant(s) closed has not been updated in a long time. Basic maintenance in the main areas non existant.
Nothing Everything, smell and look old. Lots of kids running, this is a homeless shelter not a hotel,
Nothing Everything the room and bathroom was dirty
That I was in a non smoking room but kept smelling cigarette smoke
Bed was comfortable The hallways and do Floor were super dirty looks like the cleaning crew all went on strike
Bed linen was dirty Tv was broken and didnt work Hotel very outdated....looks nothing like the pictures online
Nothing There was a mouse in my room it woke me up trying to eat my food. I went to the front desk and they had nothing to say. Didn't apologize or offer to rememdy situation other than change my room. I need the sleep so I stayed. Would never stay again or recommend.
location dirty rooms , old
For the money, it was good. Room clean, bed nice. I was in late and out early on business so I didn't see too much of it. There is a SURPRISE $100 deposit when you arrive, even if the room was prepaid when booking. Sad they feel the need to do it, but I was unprepared for it. Cash gets returned at check out, deposit on card could take up to 5 days to be returned. There was an electrical outlet not working in bathroom, so blow dryer did not work. Maintenance was delayed, but kind when finally got there. (I was there for a job interview). The man working the desk was nice, but alone so check in was painfully slow.
I never showed up
Too expensive for the money n everything coz money there may be just for the rich people don't know what to do with their money staffs there look down on us coz we didn't wear fancy clothes or name brand bags will never go back there even I have so much money ... Nothing to like
Outstanding 5 star property, lots to do on-site. Obviously, very expensive.
The most comfortable beds ever and the best pillows. The balcony overlooking the pool made us just stay in and order room service. Want to find a reason to come stay again. Everything was just great. No complaint.
Clean hotel and staff seemed nice for the most part. AC was on but it was still stuffy. Clocks didn't have the right time so this caused us to be late for a meeting. Parking lot needs to be bigger.
Clean, good wifi, quiet. I will stay again. Could use some complimentary lotion with the shampoo and conditioner. The location is great for Arlington events but quite far from Dallas.
Checking in and out was a breeze. Staff were very nice The room smelled like mildew or moldy.
I enjoyed the breakfast and the staff was super friendly. I got exactly what I paid for. I was looking for a place to lay my head for a night, no frills, safe area and close to several venues. The rooms could have been nicer but for the money I paid it met my expectation.
Staff was very pleasant and the van service to and from the airport was timely and helpful. Thin walls made it easy to hear everything. Not the cleanest or newest.
The room took care of our basic needs. However it was extremely hot in the room everyday and the AC unit did not blow out cool air. The hotel needs updating badly. It wasn't the worst stay but I would not stay at this hotel again.
Cockroaches were found in the room.
Great cuatomer service Some prostitutes outside
The room was clean in general. It was close to the airport there's a shuttle that brings and picks you up. For the price we paid it's totally ok including breakfast. The receptionist wasn't friendly and the towels weren't clean even after they got changed. Sheets were stained.
Location and breakfast Very small and noisy air condition.
THE FULL BREAKFAST THEY DIDNOT CLEAN ROOM SECOND NIGHT
The service in general: friendly and helpful staff, did not have to wait long for shuttle, breakfast was filling. N/A
The room smelled like smoke.
The staff were great! We had a group of teenagers camped in front of a broken vebding machine. After I informed the staff they promptly restocked the vending machine and fixed it. A few cons, as with anything. Overall, the hotel has a good location and I would recommend this hotel to future families passing through DFW. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable for my children. In addition our room was very warm. We set the thermostat as low as it would go and we still could not get the temperature below 71. Since we were only there one night we did not have it looked at. However given the attentiveness the previous day I have no doubt it would have been looked at promptly.
Evening Reception, and The Breakfast! Room AC wasn't the best in the bedroom. The entry to my room air seemed to circulate well, but the room got hot at night.
The view from my room and the window were floor to ceiling- amazing! Room service was pretty expensive.
Makes business travel easy Nothing
The place was just beautiful! From the front desk to room service to housekeeping, the entire staff was extremely professional.
Engaging friendly staff, perfect location for my needs, close to DFW, easy access to major area highway. would like to see expanded menu at restaurant, but hardly a big negative
Great room space. Food is very good The location doesn't offer much other than proximity to airport. Airport is very close.
I was without power for 5 days when I checked in. They allowed me to check in at 1030 so I wouldn't miss the cowboys game. I called multiple times with questions, Michelle was friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. There were plenty of fast and casual food options within 5 minutes of hotel. They took an extremely stressful weekend and allowed it to end peacefully. Literally nothing except the overly high non refundable pet fee. I wasn't able to bring my dog bc it would've doubled the price of the room.
A comfortable bed and friendly reception staffs are very impressive. This hotel is good for layover. Although the airport transfer is complimentary, I had to wait 50 minutes at the airport. Furthermore, drivers are not friendly at all.
This property delivered a good value for a quality hotel during a major event - state fair plus major football game. The location was convenient.
Stuff was very nice and helpful. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Location was perfect. Close to plenty of restaurants and shopping centers. I would definitely consider staying here again.
Our room was on the first floor and we loved it's location. Thanks N/A
The hotel was very centrally located to the places we wanted to go. It was very clean and nicely decorated. Very sleek and modern and very comfortable.
The staff was friendly. The entire hotel (lobby, hall ways on all floors and additional common areas had no air conditioning (it was not on at all and the temperature that day was in the upper 80's); to say it was hot and stagnant poor air circulation would be putting it mildly. The entire hotel had a pungent over powering stench of must/mildew. My room was even worse...located on the second floor (heat rising and again no air conditioning) when I opened the door it was literally 10 degrees hotter and the same musty odor amplified. I immediately turned on the window unit, which kept tripping and cutting off periodically so it took forever for the temperature in the room to register below 80 degrees. The television was so small I could not see a clear picture unless watching from the edge of the bed. If it had not been late when I checked in I most certainly would have left and checked into another hotel. The owner/operator of this hotel should be embarrassed. I travel frequently and have never stayed in a Quality Inn and can say with no hesitation I will NEVER stay in another one.
I couldn't tell if it was a new hotel or an updated hotel. It was nice either way. I couldn't hear people in the hallways order now the rooms. Very clean. Wish all hotels were like this one. Nothing. Just an FYI. The curtains are run off the ac unit controls. Don't spend forever looking for the manual controls. There aren't any.
safe and well managed water park with LOTS of lifeguards. integrated room-key/payment system on adult wrist bracelets works everywhere, including vending machines. very expensive, $65 dinner buffet, $60 breakfast buffet, plus tips for a family of 4. Magic quest scavenger hunt game $30-$50 per child. Parking is difficult.
The water park was a lot of fun for my little one, I do think that it can be kept cleaner though. Dirty floors and towels. There wasn't much to do besides the water park that didn't require tons of money. Besides the magiquest there wasn't much to do and we didn't even do that because it takes on average 3-5 hours.
We absolutely loved this place!! We will definitely be back for more!!
Indoor water park is included with your stay. We have been going to the Great Wolf every December for 9 years now. Our three kids have always enjoyed our stay here until this year 2016. Sadly this location is in decline and needing to be running at 110%. Staff very sweet and apologetic, but apologies don't get me my full experience for my dollar. Our room was not ready at 4:00pm check in. It took 2 hours and 23minutes to get our room. The Hotel did not offer anything for this inconvenience, I had to ask. (We we're not the only family who's room was not ready...many others were being told the same thing. The 2nd day 1/2 the water park rides and pools were closed. Disappointed this year. Reconsidering our trip next December. Might start new tradition.
I love the waterpark and our room EXPENSIVE, not just the rooms but everything at the lodge is way overpriced...Who has valet parking at a place advertised to be a family hotel, come on now....The waterpark is the only thing included with your room rate, beware of all the add-ons! If you are a Harry Potter fan you will love the hotel but bring your wallet because to play the game it will be roughly $80 per person - Note that's more than admission into SIX FLAGS...just sayin!
fun place for kids and family oriented, great location I'm grapevine, tx. this time we had a great view from our room and really liked being on 4th floor, easy access to lobby and the resturant! and we were close to the elevators! beside the room being very expensive the food and drink especially by the pool area was very pricey! the lines were long for the kids slide! the carpet had few big stain on it, we went there last year and they changed our room because the carport had several stain on it! i also wish the kids can use the wifi for their x box live, when i called the front desk they said they don't have that option any more for the video game! my boys were a bit bummed out! but overall they had a good time!
First and most importantly, my children had a blast. My oldest loved the slides and the younger two enjoyed the pools/play areas bot inside and outside. As parents, we liked the outside area better for less chlorine smell and burn. The staff was very nice and attentive from the front desk to the cleaning ladies to the lifeguard and activity leaders. The front desk gave my son a special birthday wolf ears and a token for a free ice cream since he just had his birthday. There was a lot to do besides just the water park which was nice. Our room was clean when we arrived and that was the first thing we checked. I read reviews of crumbs in beds, bed bugs, mold in the bathrooms and so on so I was very nervous about this. But our rooms were great. We loved that they had starbucks right in the lodge! We only got lunch items from the Lodge and went out to dinner off property but we didn't find the food to be that bad or overpriced. My suggestion would be to order a whole pizza instead of slices and just reheat in the microwave for following days to save a lot of money! We also purchased 2 refillable cups and used them for the whole trip which was nice. I was also happy that they had salad options for us adults who didn't want to go overboard on unhealthy choices. And for those that are really on a budget, the rooms have a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We brought breakfast and snacks and even brought our own toaster from home. You can eat whatever you want in your room instead of buying everything there. All of the guests that we had interactions with were nice and also seemed to be having a great time. The location is great with a grocery store, restaurants and entertainment nearby so while you may be tempted to never leave the hotel, you have many options around. If you forget anything don't worry, they have a lot of clothing, toiletries, bags, bathing suits and so on for purchase right at the lodge. You never really need to leave if you don't want to which is great for people who take a flight there. As some other reviewers mentioned, there is a strong smell of chlorine in the inside part. But honestly, this is expected and similar to every indoor pool I have ever been to. But for this reason we spent most of our time at the outdoor section. Renting a cabana is very expensive. Apparently the price changes daily but when we asked it was $170. We were able to find some shaded seats although they are a little hard to come by. Other people mentioned rust and I didn't see it until I waited in line for the slides with my oldest son. There is some rust along the stairs and on the doors to the bathroom. Did I ever feel nervous about it, no. It was NOT rusty nails sticking up all over the place that a kid could easily run over and get hurt on. It is a very moist and corrosive environment so it is bound to happen. Would it be better if they fixed it, yes. But again, I wasn't too worried. The water in our shower would have pockets of colder water come here and there, again not the end of the world but not perfect either. On the flip side, the sink water in the inside downstairs bathroom was incredibly hot, I had to collect the water in my hands and hope it cooled enough to then rinse my kids' hands. They have a candy area right by the refillable drinks that my youngest was attracted to and we had to keep on pulling him away. One of my children has type 1 diabetes and a gluten allergy so we try to stay away from candy, sweets and bakery items for the whole family when we are with her. The placement of this candy and lack of alternative items made for some sour moments but luckily I came prepared with snacks of our own.
