The company did not contact me to say they did not have a car. I was forced to use another location and paid double the price and took me over 1 hour extra in the late evening at the airport to figure things out.

There is only an associate at the rental place in the airport when there are arrivals. Would have been nice to know ahead of time. Otherwise, always an excellent experience with Enterprise. Thanks Enterprise!

The price quoted on the website was around $250. When I picked it up they told me the actual price would be around $316. Of course I know that would happen because of hidden taxes and fees because every single company these days are crooks and liars. The car had a rock chip on the windshield which was documented before I drove away. When I dropped the car off the terrible employee wasn't at the desk so I just left the keys in the drop box. He called me to tell me about the rock chip, I sent him the paperwork as proof the rock chip was already there. He said he would send me a receipt. I never got the receipt and the price came to $378. That's over $100 more than the internet quoted me. Never ever use Avis and especially never ever deal with the horrible employee in the Calgary Midnapore location. I am out of the country now so it's difficult for me to deal with this but I will be getting to the bottom of this.

I had my rental scheduled for 8:00 waited at the counter for a long time no one came. I finally found the cell phone number and called the lady working she asked if I had my rental for 9:00 I said no 8:00 ,and even verified my itinerary at this time. It was in fact 8 she said she’d be right there I waited another 10 minutes and gave up and went elsewhere

As I don’t rent a vehicle that often I was shocked to find, that by using a 3rd party vender(kayak), their quotes are not honoured. I was also shocked to learn that there are no free kilometres anymore. I believe the rental companies should be made to provide clean safe vehicles to their customers. This should include all lights working, windshield wipers in working order, all fluid levels at their proper levels especially washer fluid and engine oil and that all tires have be inflated to the vehicle guidelines and most importantly that the remaining tread on the tire be above the wear bars indicated on the tire The vehicle I was given was clean but the windshield had not been cleaned on the inside and was very dirty either with dust or smoke, one windshield wiper nearly fell off. Also, the vehicle I was given had BALD tires. This was not noticed as I picked it up near dark. Thankfully we did not have to drive in rain that night. There was no tread left on 1 tire and the remaining tires had maybe 5% to 10% tread remaining. Totally unacceptable

Pros:

Price was okay, but once I factor in cab fare it was not a great deal.

Cons:

-pick up advertised as at the airport...not true -outside of the car was filthy...not dusty but really dirty making the view out of the windows challenging -off-site location closes at 5 PM, so factor in a cab ride back to the airport (~$25.00)
