The hotel and staff were fine our main issues were with the other guests. The hotel was filled mostly with railroad workers who unfortunately for us went to work at 4 am. From 3:00 am on it sounded as if furniture was being moved in the room above us.
The elevator did not work.We really didn't mind that as much as the total lack of security that we felt there. The outside doors could be opened without a room key and one door to outside was kept open. There was no security locking mechanism on our room.
The bed was comfortable. The room wasn't very clean and there were wires hanging from the wall where a smoke detector should've been.
The evening staff person was very friendly and helpful. There was not a blanket in my room, so I called the front desk. There was no answer after several attempts, so I had to get dressed, as I'd already gotten ready for bed and go to the front desk. The woman was very nice and brought one to me 10 min later.
5am breakfast still wasn't set out @7 :30am, coffee in room coffee maker, change
Room was clean and up to date. Overall a decent place to stay, even with kids. Side door didn't unlock with card, got smoking room first but was moved without incident.
The manager was wonderful Not one thing, well the pool could be bigger
Hotel was clean, lobby looks nice.location is great. I did not think staff was attnetive at all.In the morning therewas no one to attend to the needs of the breakfast buffet. We had to wait on coffeerefills.,Everytime we looked 2 or 3 of the staff were out smoking,,,They need to be around at the desk tending to the guests as 630 to 930 is the busiest time when guests are checking out,,
The front desk staff was very friendly. About 5 minutes after we got to the room, the front desk called to see if we liked the room and if we needed anything else. My only complaint was that the bed was extremely high off the ground. Granted i am vertically challenged, it was a little hard to lay a sleeping baby down in the middle of the bed while struggling to get on the bed.
Although we had a non-smoking room the Inn smelled of smoke. The staff was nice but non-professional with their small children running around and one of the staff member shouting at them to do certain things. Room was sparse but OK for the money. Outside parking was not good. Holes in the streets, etc.
Price No coffee pot
It was close to my destination It was old & dated, with no pool
The a/c quickly cooled off room. Coffee was not ready at 7am like staff stated. Office was still closed. There was also a lot of dead black bugs in the restroom and sleeping area.
It was available. Smelled of cigarettes.
Location was good. Room clean. Old, run down. Woman who checked us in pleasant but charged additional $10 for a room with 2 beds despite the entire property being available.
It was close to a venue Walls paper thin bed extremely hard
It was clean and the staff were pleasant.
The hotel looked nice People were not friendly. Sometimes I like to read and in the past I have read a bible from the hotel. But this hotel had NO bible and nothing else to read. Vending is on bottom floor I was on the third floor
It was quiet and peaceful The doors were locked when I checked in
It was a very enjoyable experience from the time we stepped in the hotel. Desk clerk was friendly and the room was large and clean. I am extremely picky about cleanliness and the room was great. I would recommend this hotel for sure! Great breakfast too Really nothing except some of the other guests were noisy for awhile, but that wasn't any fault of the hotel.
The staff was really nice. Mexia is a really small location but the hotel was excellent!
This is an older motel that has been recently refurbished--and very well done. The beds were as comfortable as any I've ever used. Friendly staff--how often does a motel owner hug you! The hair dryer did not work. The bath room was a little small--but the equipment was very good.
Convenient stop over between College Station and DFW. The room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was sparse but had great coffee. Try Wrights BBQ in Mexia. Old Fort Parker is just a few miles south of town. Sink drain was stopped up. Print having over the table in the room had gotten wet at some point and was covered with green mold & mildew under the glass
they couldn't find our reservations upon check in...very frustrating
The price is the only factor i liked Very rude owners, couldn't find our reservation at first, couldn't speak english at all. the room was nasty with stains on furniture and covers. no remote for box style tv set and towels were tiny. 2 nights no new soap. awful place, nasty overall
