Location, friendly staff
This hotel was gorgeous! It was like staying in a 5 star hotel for the price of a motel6. I highly recommend hotel morales and am looking forward to staying here again. It is just a few blocks away from the cathedrals, theatre and restaurants so it was very convenient to drop by the hotel throughout the day. We took advantage of all the amenities- the gym, rooftop pool, pool table, room service and restaurant. I loved staying here!
Everything was good except that we found a small cockroach in the floor (that tells me there were more), also the beds are not comfortable to sleep, great location and very beautiful inside.
staff was awsome, every minute very helpful: from the front desk, resturant, and maids having the room look like the first day.
Beautiful building within easy walking distance to a number of a number of historic sites and plazas. Very charming. Would stay again.
The hotel was clean and had all the basic ammenities you need. Wifi, air conditioning, clean rooms and bathrooms. The hotel is located in the heart of the City so this is perfect for someone who wants to walk around and go to museums etc. Overall a great experience for the money.
Staff was very helpful with offering tours & explaining different attractions to go see in the city. Excellent service! It is was centrally located & within walking distance from many historical attractions. There was a fowl smell at times that would come from the toilet...didn't mentioned it to staff, since I was not in the room a lot, only to sleep. All other aspects of the hotel were nice!
Very centric and helpful staff my room had a door with a glass panel above it. I whish there was a way to block off the light from the atrium.
Great location. Reception staff was good but food staff was inattentive.
The rooms were nice and clean, just as the photos show. We went to the restaurant for dinner, and that was really, really good with a wide variety of Mexican dishes. The breakfast buffet was good, too, with hot and cold items. The prices for both of those were great. Dinner for 20 people was 2429 pesos, or about $130; breakfast for 20 was 1829 pesos or $100. It wasn't far to walk to the cathedral area and lots of great sites. I didn't go out walking at night, but during the day it seemed to be a safe neighborhood. It was nice, too, that they had a computer down in the lobby that anyone could use. The staff was friendly at first, but seemed to grow less so as I had more requests/needs. We had a large group, though, so as the coordinator, it wasn't really a lot to ask for the number of people we had (I wasn't just being high maintenance). Part of the issue may have been that their English wasn't so good and my Spanish isn't so good. Whatever it was, it wasn't the best experience of service. Also, the street seemed noisy at night, but as we went to other towns, by comparison, it wasn't. Mexico is just kind of a noisy place.
Elegant and pleasant hotel, clean. Bed a little hard and no blanket, fairly long walk to historical center.
Room was spacious and well appointed. Not in city center and unbearably noisy.
Staff was pleasant, wifi and parking free. Noise level is quite high even though rooms are nice and clean.
Staff is super friendly and will try their best to please you. grsuoer nice and happy staff. breakfast not included, Internet barely works, cable doesn't work most of time, AC wasn't working well.
The location was amazing, close to all the main places for my visit The room was kind of small
The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower great. Overall great room. The staff at the front desk were awesome and so were the men who took care of the cars. I would not call them valets because they seemed to do a lot of different things, but they were awesome. There is a disco somewhere near and it was a little noisy. Not so bad but if I would have ear plugs it would have been better.
city center location, englisg speaking staff, price, cleaniness, response of staff, facilities, room service, everything were fantastic. I would like to stay here whenever I visit Guadalajara. If a comlimantery breakfast is included in tarrif it would be more attractive to stay in the hotel
The staff, in the confort. The bathroom is to old
Staff very courteous, wonderful service with restaurant, lovely design and of course, Location, Location, Location The shower curtain did not extend to the bottom on the shower, hence water leaked out.
1. the fact that it is perfectly situated next to everything worth seeing in Guadalajara. 2. room was clean, whole Hotel was clean and well kept, Staff is helpful, responsible, 3. there is a small balcony in some rooms, in my case it had a view of a XVI C church, 4. Has a sight-seeing roof that is worth going up to, 5. Guests were all very professional and respectful people 1. Sockets are old and if you need to plug in a laptop, you must ask for an adaptar at the front desk. 2. Despite the fact that they put a thick carpet in the halls, if a guest is talking as he or she walks down the hall you can hear averything, it also goes the other way aroung, you can hear what people are saying in their rooms as you walk down the hall. The TV is too small
Good clean hotel in city centre at reasonable price. Elevator a bit dated. No view room the room (Wall opposite window).
just perfect for proximity to cultural events especially at the Teatro Degollado
Service was very good. Quiet rooms. Centrally located. Restaurant in the hotel. Hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, clean. Would have liked a more economical price.
The convenience of being in the centre of the old city. Easy of driving to it and parking on site.
The location for the old city is fantastic, you have nearly 10 historic squares pretty much on your doorstep with all the tourist attractions in walking distance. And great value!
I truly enjoyed my stay at Hotel de Mendoza I will recommend this hotel to friends and family.
close to downtown price construction in lobby windows leaking bathroom smell
These hotel doesn't deserve to have 4 stars ok it was one of the worst hotels ever. I have a big complain, they stold my friends cell phone with he's charger in with an hour that we stept out of the hotel to go have dinner, that was super bad but well what can we do
I liked the fact that the front desk staff spoke english so it made me feel comfortable that I could speak english if my spanish wasnt going to be helpful in any situation. I did not like the staff's attitude and lack of customer service. I also did not like the fact that the staff was slow in fulfilling simple requests, such as providing more towels, toilet paper, etc. also, I was told the room I paid for was not available because the price I was given was for a king sized bedroom not a two queen bed room. I was very disappointed that they would not work with me to give me the price and room I reserved/paid for.
I liked that it was in downtown Guadalajara. Shower had a smell. Parking lot too small. Staff didn't have my booking reservation.
Great location.... Walk 1 1/2 short blocks and your at the beginning of the tourist walking street attractions. Abouts 7 blocks in a row with Plazas, Churches, Fountains, Museums, Restaurants, Sculptures and Government Buildings with murals not to be missed. Rooms away from elevators are quiet, ask for 5th floor or higher, really any view is fantastic but the preferred Church steeple view rooms are hard if not impossible to get. I arrived to the hotel at 10am and had to wait until half past 11 to get a room away from the loud elevator. No View of Church Spires but got room 706 and saw another church a few blocks away and some impressive mountain views. Slipped a little on wet bathroom floor, grabbed for towel rack and the bar came off in my hand. Someone else had done the same slipping motion, pulled the towel rack off the wall and the Hotel Staff never fixed the towel rack, Housekeeping just keeps putting clean towels on the loose bar and its an accident waiting to happen, Could you imagine dropping that bar on your foot... Three out of four light bulbs in the room were burnt out, woman at front desk with long curly hair is not trying in any way to earn any customer service points. The rest of the Hotel Staff was excellent. Really slept well regardless of the pillows from hell. Oh and the towels are old and worn. And my sheets were torn and it looked like someone steam ironed a candy wrapper to fix the hole.
The hotel was recently remodeled and everything was super clean and the room was cleaned well everyday. The room was large and the windows were double-paned so city noise didn't penetrate the room. The staff was welcoming and helpful, and spoke English as well as Spanish. The location was great. Overall, a fantastic value.
The location was excellent - close to central plazas and right on Juarez Ave. The room was clean and comfortable. The price was very reasonable. The staff at reception could have been a little friendlier. The fitness center was hot (not well ventilated) and some of the machines didn't function well.
great location. Excellent value for money. Minor imperfections (loud air cond, sink missing a stopper)
In the heart of the historic center making everything walking distance to the hotel. The hotel could definitely invest in some new towels! They were shearing and falling apart.
beautiful historic location, very polite staff. many thing to see and do within walking distance. tv too small. furniture somewhat worn.
Loved the location. Beautiful building. Very helpful staff. Unusual, interesting room. The bedspreads were a little worn and the furniture in the room was a little worn out too.
Very pleased with the staff and the service. The hotel is located in the center of the city so it is within a few blocks of all the major turistic locations in the downtown area. The rooms are clean and quiet, that makes your stay more pleasant.
The hotel is in only a block away from the historical center of the city. There are a ton of things to do/see within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff attentive. The rooms are spacious and very clean. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Upon arrival bellhops were very courteous and helpful. Front desk was very efficient and our check in fast. Rooms were clean and cleaning and room service was very good. Check out was very efficient and hotel furnished transportation to airport. Now, at every level, bellhops, front desk, cleaning, restaurant someone spoke english making it very easy to communicate. All directions, menus, etc. were written in both Spanish and English. Location of hotel was great, near the Cathedral, and many sights. In Historic District. I would highly recommend to anyone going to Guadalajara to stay at the Hoiday Inn Downtown.
Great location, within walking distance to most historical sites and attractions. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and quite helpful with directions and recommendations. Room was nice, bed was comfortable and clean, however the dining chairs and table did not fit well in the small space and otherwise should have been left out. There was plenty of seating with the small sofa and coffee table. Bathroom was in need of some renovation and repairs, but was sufficient. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the hotel, food was fresh and delicious. I would definitely come back.
Just spent 4 nights at this historic hotel. Close to many historic locations and activities. Service is great with very friendly Engish Speaking employees. Took sevearl side trips to great places recommended by staff. Our suite was clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed for one night for about $. It is NOT near the airport (the Hampton Inn is MUCH closer) and the free shuttle was not available for a 7am flight nor an 8pm arrival ... so add $ to the cost of the stay for taxis. All this said, it is a nice hotel in a nice location ... much better than I expected for a Holiday Inn. The room was large and the bed VERY comfortable. Free Internet was nice. The restaurant had good food at reasonable prices and we ate on the balcony overlooking the street. The wait staff was very attentive (we were the only one there at the time)
The room was clean and the staff was very nice. Unfortunately for us, the bed was not that comfortable, the Internet spotty and the air conditioner, while working full time, almost cooled the room. The following week we came back to Guadalajara and stayed one block east at the Best Western that had a similar room but with good air conditioning, Internet and bed for $40 USD less.
The Bedrooms and bathrooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The staff were all very frinedly and very helpful. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you are going to Guadalajara. It is only blocks to the Historic town square and there are lots of restaraunts and stores within walking distance. We stay here every time we visit Guadalajara and LOVE it every time.
We didnt get free breakfast at this time But we did get free snacks and drink from the room refri
Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean. Restaraunt food was good and reasonably priced. Located within walking distance to many things.
This hotel offers the best for business travelers, it has online access, the receptionist all speak good english and are very helpful ! I will recommend and continue to stay
It was pretty good value for money, although cleanliness of the room definitively could have been better. Also good location and all in all friendly staff. It was entirely unacceptable that the hotel allowed minors to stay unacccompanied by adults in large groups and large amount of groups, there was no control and that security had to be called in several times was really not something I want to try again. Minors should not be allowed.
the most friendly and efficient staff in the front desk lack of communication your company and the administration. I had to pay cash even with a paid reservation.
The room was good. It was noisy--especially from the communal kitchen. The city tour that was recommended was terrible. It just moved people from market to market.
The staff was incredibly helpful, and the location is just a few minutes walk from the Historic Center of Guadalajara. The shared kitchen is a great feature, and there is a Soriana Market around the corner to stock up on food.
