i called enterprise to get a quote on a car seat and the rates are different from the website and i was given wrong info, when i showed up they wanted to charge me $12 a day!!! i refused and bought one at a walmart instead. Insurance was forced on me without having the credit card disclosure where it shows i have coverage.5.6 Fair

When we got to the offsite counter, they told us we needed to buy extra $200 insurance even though we had already bought insurance online as well as leave a $2000 deposit that wasn't mentioned anywhere before. Wound up getting a car elsewhere. Very poor. Also car they wanted us to talke was really banged up and missing nobs on the center console.6.4 Okay

The car was ok. tires a little run down. the staff checked in ok.Cons:
We purchased full collision damage waiver. When actual damage occurred on the car, we drove to avis the same day. told them about the issue and returned the car actually a day early. We were told that the insurance was not going to cover the damage with some week excuse (in fact that we had to immediately inform avis of the accident). There is no good cellular in Guatemala, so we could not call and instead drove to avis immediately. The accident did not involve any other car. ( in fact the roads are narrow and there was no possibility to hang out where we damaged the car (rocks at the side of the road). The car's functionality was not impaired at all. We were told to come back the next day (where we actually took off to return to the US), after the local manager had spoken to his supervisor. We returned the next morning, ready to take the flight. At that point the manager called his supervisor and customer service representative and then told us that the CDW would not cover because we had not immediately called (which was impossible). Needless to say, we will fight line of argumentation. It is just very frustrating to have purchased this kind of "peace of mind" insurance only to find out that the contract seems to be illusory. Will definitely not rent from avis again and very upset about their gamble.6.8 Okay

Ended up walking away from my reservation. When I pointed out that the fees were already included in the total I was quoted, the employees became shifty and came up with a random airport tax/fee that doesn't exist. They quoted me one amount for a deposit, then they changed their minds because the rental is an SUV. I had no confidence left, so I walked away and rented from another rental company.2.0 Poor

We arrive on time to Avis with are rental order. They did not had the car we order. Also they did not accepted the car insurance we bought though the order that we did in Kayak. They end up giving us a total new order. Supposedly the car we order was going to be ready in 2 day but nothing.Ace

They did not have the car I reserved, nor any car at all. We were left stranded in a country we had never visited with no car. The budget agent at the airport said that even though we had a reservation, he did not have a car for us. He suggested other questionable car rental places at a much higher price. We ended having to find our own car at other place. This was the worst car rental experience of my life, will never use budget in my life again.2.0 Poor

I have reserved a sedan and they only had a pickup. we were 4 persons and could not leave the baggae on the bed with no security. We end up going with another rental company and had to pay almost as twice as much that what we have booked with Budget.5.2 Fair

Vehicle had damage that affected functionality. We had to wait about 2 hours to get the vehicle. Undisclosed insurance requirement was added at check in. Overall poor experience.Cons:

Cons:
The Thrifty agent was not at the pick-up location at the scheduled time. The vehicle (a Mitsubishi sedan) itself performed slowly, and was very sluggish on roads with hills. The vehicle had over 141,000 miles on it, which is probably why it performed poorly. The tires were almost bald. The plastic chip cover on the key ring broke apart and some electronic chips fell out, making it impossible to start the car. This happened the day we had to be at the airport for an outbound flight. We had rented from Thrifty on another occasion, and that vehicle broke down and had to be replaced. It also had one broken headlight bulb that had to be replaced. Adios Thrifty.2.8 Poor
