Pros: New, clean, friendly, organized, the wifi in the room even worked. The design made it look like they'd done some surveys and found out what annoys travelers and fixed them: no hard corner of the bed to stub your toe on, plenty of power outlets including a built-in power strip, etc.
Cons: I honestly can't think of anything.
Pros: Well located, clean and nicely presented, the facilities at Fairfield Inn are very good. The cost is a bit on the high side but there are few quality choices nearby,
Pros: Room and staff were excellent
Cons: no food service except for breakfast

Pros: Bed was comfortable, clean room, helpful staff.
Cons: AC was so noisy had to turn it off to sleep - made for a hot, uncomfortable room overall. Pull out couch/bed was thin and very uncomfortable - son preferred the floor. Also, extra blankets were scratchy and low quality.
Pros: nothing to like. owner was gracious in allowing us to cancel without charges.
Cons: Way overpriced. Musty smell in room. exposed pipes = loud noises when water runs through. dark bathroom = unfit for use dark. breakfast from 8:30 - 9:30 on Sunday.

Pros: Staff very friendly & accommodating. Great location. Very clean well appointed rooms.
Cons: There was nothing not to like
Pros: Very centrally located, and the staff was wonderful!
Located on Amherst College campus, the historic Inn is completely renovated and offers modern amenities including wireless Internet and fitness center. Each room includes LCD HD TV & private baths. Local farm to table cuisine is featured at our full service 3 meal a day restaurant and bar. The Library, Rooftop Terrace & exterior Gardens offer unique settings for relaxing or socializing. Ample function space can accommodate 2 to 250. The Inn is dedicated to environmental sustainability.
Pros: The location on campus is amazing. Our room looked south over the main campus, including the library and chapel. There's a student commons on the ground floor - recently remodeled - which has food, coffee and a campus store. The interior is nicely decorated and looks more modern than the outside.
Cons: There's no way to sugar coat it: the building is hideously ugly from the outside; it looks like a Soviet-era apartment block.
Hotel UMass is a great choice for a stay in Amherst. You can unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge, and free continental breakfast is available daily. IPod docks, LCD TVs, and room service are offered in all rooms.
Cons: This area of the hotel really needs work. The menu needs to expanded to cater to chicken. It was really slow both at the restaurant and room service.
Pros: Location is ideal - you can walk everywhere. Hotel has good vibe. Get a room with a balcony in the main hotel - you can see what's going on in Northampton. Hotel is a big pricey but parking is free and you don't need to drive to good restaurants. Continental breakfast is included but we're addicted to the 'Downtown' at Jake's restaurant
Cons: Last time we got a room in the Residential Cottages which is not part of the hotel. It's in the middle of the parking lot and you feel that. Room was big with kitchenette but didn't like it.
Pros: You can walk anywhere in Northampton from this hotel. It was built in the 1920's so has a lot of charm but it's been updated. Room on high floor with balcony is best. Free parking. Jake's for great breakfast is right across the street.
Cons: Rooms can be noisy - don't get room near elevator or stairs otherwise it's fine.
Pros: I had booked a room with a queen size bed, but they must have upgraded me to a king size. The room was very nice and spacious with a large bathroom and some very nice amenities; bathrobes, ironing board and iron. Nice continental breakfast with the price of the room in a lovely dining room. After check out we were allowed to leave our car in the parking lot for the rest of the day for some downtown Christmas shopping. I look forward to staying here again.
Cons: There was nothing that I didn't like.
Pros: Very good location with lots of New England charm and ambiance. Very comfortable bed and an ample size room. Good continental breakfast was included in the price.
Cons: I was awakened by a loud group of intoxicated people after midnight. I felt like I was back in my college dorm days; very annoying! I'm sure that someone called from my floor before I did as the disturbance ended after about 15 minutes. I complained to the manager the next morning who knocked 20 bucks off my bill of 200. I don't think that was enough for the hassle of being woken up from a dead sleep, especially from a luxury hotel. Needless to say, I don't think I'll ever stay there again.
Located near a train station, Hotel Northampton is a great choice for a stay in Northampton. Guests can visit the fitness center for a workout or grab a bite to eat at Historic Wiggins Tavern, one of 2 restaurants, which serves American cuisine and is open for dinner. There are 2 bars/lounges and a terrace, and rooms at this historic hotel get the details right with down comforters and bathrobes.
Pros: Terrible internet (too slow to even watch YouTube's videos), bad was not really comfortable, and too manies layers on the bad. Rest good
Pros: 40-50 dollars less than anything else in the area. Has everything you could expect from a budget hotel and then some. Bed was surprising comfortable and the place was pretty clean. Continental breakfast was decent. Good size fridge in the room. AC/heat control worked fine and was easy to adjust, which is rare in my experience.
Cons: Location is pretty much in the middle of a parking lot. Guy working at the front desk was dressed kind of sloppy with the top few buttons of his shirt undone. But it was a pretty hot day, so I get it.
Pros: If you're spending time in both Northampton and Amherst, the Econo Lodge is about equidistant between both, although its location is nothing special -- in front of a Wal Mart, grocery store and others.
It's clean, not noisy, has a small pool and the staff is friendly and efficient.
Cons: Completely charmless, and it needs some updating. My wife and I joked about a "round-screen" TV in the room, which seems about 15 years old. There was paint peeling on the bathroom ceiling.
There's nothing that can be done about being located in front of strip shopping center and a storage facility, but keeping the place up to date would help.
Pros: The staff was friendly
Cons: Poor management of rowdy guests. The third floor was like a frat house. When I called at 2:am to complain the desk clerk just chalked it up to homecoming weekend at UMass. Also the sheets didn't fit the bed which didn't fit the box spring mattress.
Pros: The room was clean comfortable and served its purpose. We just had an overnight stay between zip line and white water rafting at Zoar.
Cons: I didn't like people smoking outside the building
Cons: curtains had cigarette holes, bed spread torn
Pros: Value cleanliness
Pros: Fine for an overnight stay. Price was great and Amherst is beautiful.
Cons: Old smell to the Libby and room.
Pros: No frills but good at what it does
Cons: Rooms could've been cleaner
Pros: It was exactly what we needed for a short stay. The facilities are a bit outdated, but we didn't need much. A good price and a great stay.
Cons: Breakfast choices were very average

Cons: No tissues in the room!

Pros: This hotel is dog friendly centrally located. The rooms are standard for a two star hotel, so I wasn't surprised or disappointed in that sense.
Cons: For me this place was hands down an unfortunate experience. First, they shouldn't advertise "free internet" because it doesn't reach all rooms. I wasn't able to get a connection ALL night. The work I needed to complete was on my Ipad and it doesn't have wifi, so that was a total bust. It also would have been nice if the clerk had told me the office would be closed at night. It was unfortunate that I locked myself out of my room at this place. Without a cell phone the only thing I could do is walk down to the corner store and beg to use their phone. The number listed was for a HJ in Hadley. There wasn't anyone free to come help me out, but Jamal offered to send a cab and put me up in their hotel for the night. Thanks Jamal!! Out of desperation (my dog's food and all my money was in my hotel) I scaled the wall and broke into my room. Yes, it was crazy easy to break into my own hotel room. Good news if you're a dumbass and lock yourself out, bad news if you don't want to get robbed or worse. This place is a two star hotel, so I wasn't expecting anything special.
Pros: walking distance to university and town.
Enjoy your visit to Amherst with a stay at University Lodge. Guests will have free perks like WiFi and self parking. Rooms feature conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
This Granby, Massachusetts motel is 5 minutes’ drive from Mount Holyoke College and 15 minutes’ drive from Amherst College. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the motel. A microwave and refrigerator are included in every room at the Granby Motel. The simply decorated rooms have cable TV and an en suite bathroom. Free parking is available at Motel Granby. The property has air conditioning and heating as well. Several dining options are within 1 mile, including Pizza Palace and Thai Place. Six Flags New England is 19 miles from the motel. Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is 20 minutes’ drive away.
Cons: We were harassed by the proprietor who wanted to know if we were going to be sharing a bed. How is this a relevant question to ask someone using your hotel. Also the door to the room was unlocked when we got to it, and it would not lock for us. We had to get said proprietor to show him it would not lock, because he didn't believe us. Additionally, the chain lock on the inside of the door was long enough that even with it in place, I was able, from the outside, to unhook the chain and open the door. When we asked for a different room, he gave us a different key, so that we could actually lock the door. Why were we not given a working key to begin with!? Because this hotel is a roadside inn, where there is no barrier between you and the highway just outside, except for the door to your room, it was a very unsettling experience.
Cons: The room was disgusting. I was afraid to take my shoes off. It was dark, dingy, and had a strange odor; the room had only one tiny window. My boyfriend and I ended up being the only guests at the motel, with the exception of the belligerent drunk we met while checking in who has apparently been living there for 3 months. There's not much surrounding the motel, so once the sun went down, it just felt kind of creepy with no one there and the drunk weirdo staying 2 rooms down from us.
Pros: You get what you pay for
Cons: Room smelled
Carpet was kind of gross
Pros: Helpful inn keeper, bed comfortable, thoughtful selection of pillow, clean towels and bedding
Cons: Although the place is run down, it is as clean as an old place can be. It is dingy and you might want to leave your shoes on, but it was a comfortable place to sleep.
Cons: It was a pit
Cons: Dirty, depressing, the worst. Avoid at all costs.
