If you are looking to be transported back to a different time, the Laylow Autograph Collection has preserved all that is 1960’s Hawaii in their resort. The mid-century décor belies modern convenience and comfort. Strolling into the lobby will feel as if you’ve been transported back to a time when Waikiki first captured the imagination of Americans in the contiguous 48 states.

Starting with the food options, the modern meets the mid-century. The farm-to-table concept is displayed here through a variety of dishes and restaurant concepts. The coffee shop is a caffeine lover’s dream and the mid-century décor extends even to the coffee maker. Hideout and Our Spot serve food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a setting overlooking Waikiki’s Kuhio Avenue. With plenty of craft beers and signature cocktails, there’s plenty of reasons to relax in these places.

All of the rooms are well apportioned and keep with the mid-century theme. There are several different types of rooms and all have fantastic views. The room amenities include what’s expected in every hotel, but the Laylow Autograph Collection includes a few Hawaiian twists such as ukulele lessons and an E Komo Mai basket.

I had an excellent stay at the Laylow. It has a great location, has been renovated, and has a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. I got coffee there a few mornings and had some great meals at the restaurant. Thank you!

The Laylow Hotel (Marriott Brand) is a hidden gem in Honolulu. It’s a stones throw to great restaurants and shopping and only a 10 minute walk to the beach. The staff there are awesome . This is likely because their Assistant General Manager - Ben - spends time in each Department. I saw him at the front desk, the valet, and by the pool. Cons (-) The vent had an issue, it made a clicking noises all night. Thermostat also doesn't work well. Overall, I didn't have a restful stay this time due to the noisy vent.

Pros (+) The room was very nice after we requested to move from one which was near the elevator on the 3rd floor with absolutely NO view to one on a higher level with a better view and larger room. The bathroom, although small for a suite, was above average and stocked with ample amount of towels. I enjoyed the large screen smart tv in room.
Cons (-) The check in was awkward and the staff did not greet right away. Also the housekeeping staff is not as friendly as other hotels I have stayed at. Lastly when the bellman brought down our belongings we noticed they were unattended near the check in desk where anybody could’ve easily taken something.
