The place was exactly as the previous reviews, clean but very basic. We had no issues, best for $$. We would stay here again. Could of used 2 more pillows & the bed was a little stiff. The shower was small but in all still a nice place.
It was a nice stay. Had no problem with the check -in or out process. Easy to find, lots of businesses around to get food. Room was clean, tv had cable and it worked. Bathroom was clean. I would stay again. Restaurant had good chicken wraps. Needed more places to sit, just 2 chairs and the bed. It was old, had a slight musty smell but opening the bathroom window and turning on the air helped. Bed was a tad hard but slept like a log. Coleslaw at the restaurant was not good .
The location was central to activities we were doing in Grand Rapids and Rockford. It wasn't too noisy. It had an awful smell, was outdated, no hairdryer and was overpriced for what you get.
The place was easy to find. Both my wife and myself had a very nice nights sleep with almost no external noise which is hard to find in a hotel these days. The amenities are basic but good. But since all we want is a good nights sleep and a shower, it works great for us. We plan on using this hotel as our base camp in future visits. The room did not have a microwave oven, could have used that to heat my morning coffee but hot coffee was in the lobby just a few doors down :)
The rooks are nothing fancy, just clean and comfortable. The des are only doubles, so it was a bit cramped for 2 adults, but they were comfortable. My daughter and her family of 3 stayed in a room with 2 beds, my husband and I stayed in a room with 1 bed. We were 15 minutes from downtown GR, at a fraction of the cost of the downtown hotels. My grandson loved the pool. However, the best thing about the Swan Inn is the brealfast. Great jomemade comfort food, at a great price. So if you just need a clean room, at an affordable rate, and don't care about extra amenities, in a safe neighborhood, I would recommend this place. The size of the beds. Queens would be better.
Very clean...modern on inside..outside all brick..looks dated on outside...but very nice clean modern rooms..nice view of woods from room Really nothing. Very nice staff. Still using metal keys..no key card... But other than that, would go back again
Needs a remodel and was not very clean.
I usually like Super8 for a clean and affordable stay. This hotel disappointed. The hallway smelled bad - I think the carpets need replacing. The room was not well cleaned - had a shirt hanging behind the door, some dirty fixtures. The whole place looks old - could use an update. Surprising given it was not a great price.
I've stayed there before and like the location The general manager was rude and disrespectful I had to cancel my reservation cause my room was not ready by 12pm he told me it would be a couple of hours before it was ready and didn't want to do anything thing to resolve the issue except tell me to wait.
Cheap, convenient location, only 5 mins from downtown GR. Room was clean, bed was comfy. Staff on their phones constantly, very unprofessional. Breakfast ends at 9am, which is absurd when everywhere else it goes until at least 10am or 11am.
New carpet, bedding The chair. Dirtiest, grody, and greasy looking. If they would just remove the chair it would be a major improvement.
It was a very nice room! Big, clean, and had all the right amenities! I love when hotels have fridges and microwaves. And for cost? Perfect! A great place to stay and if I travel this way again, I will stay again! I was hoping for a waffle maker.... But frozen waffles worked. Something little and non-important! It worked though.
The hot tub was nice. This was one of the dirtiest hotels I have stayed at. I found a gummy vitamin on floor. That made me look more. I found a dental flossing tool between bed and nightstand. A q-tip near the iron board. I did not complain. It was my choice to stay at a place that was $25 cheaper than the hotel near by. My lessened learned.
Good hotel for cost Breakfast was sparse with no seating
Clean, and quick but nothing fancy! I was disappointed with the Wifi service, very slow, and drops frequently. TV didn't work properly, and bathroom was out of soap. So in general, it's just a place to sleep then move on!
Locatin to highway Dirty Bad neighborhood Smelled Bathroom and ac unit flooded room.
Location was a big selling point, since my sister's house in Jenison was easy to drive to, despite being an out-of-towner driving in that area for first time. also handy to jump on/off I-196 right next to motel. Only real negative was no microwave! I've stayed in some cheap, run-down motels ... but they all had microwaves. In today's world, microwaves aren't an optional, luxury item -- they're a necessity!!
It was close to our destinatio . This hotel needs some serious upgrades. The rooms have tubed tvs and the blankets were stained. The carpets looked clean but very worn. This is a decent hotel for the money you pay. I wouldn't pay more for the room we had.
Hallways smelled like cigarette smoke.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming, Location to the mall is just about 10 mins away, Downtown Grand Rapids is about a 20 min drive. Quiet during the night. Bathroom clean. The door lock kept sticking, The bathroom light would take a second to turn on. Carpet and walls need to be updated as well television. Some of the chairs had stains. Doors did not automatically close, but they did lock when shut.
Great value, comfortable beds. The room had a bit of a stale smell to it
Close to the freeway. We got to rest. About 1:15 AM some other guests got noisy and the manager had to tell them to quiet down. The room had kind of a musty smell.
The clean bed. And morning little bit of food. Long hairs in the shower.
