Staff was super friendly and excellent with my younger son. No need to watch him entirely. Great location if you're just doing what we did and stopping due to a flight stop over anyways. Just stayed two nights. If I was deliberately going to Fiji, I would want to stay at a place with a nicer beach. Denarau is a man made island, (although beautifully done; reclaimed swamp land), so the ocean looks muddy. While the main beds in the room were comfortable and had lots of pillows, the sofa bed was the most uncomfortable sofa bed I have ever slept on!
The most glorious place on earth, I can hear for the first time .. see for the first time..., I will come back every year! It really helped me with a school project.
The resort was glorious -- beautiful well-maintained grounds, gorgeous newly remodeled room, lovely pools and beach, good food, and the most friendly, helpful staff you can imagine. Be prepared for lots of families, mainly from Australia and New Zealand, but I found no intrusion since their kids are generally well behaved! Use of the adjoining Weston resort is a plus. A really nice two day interlude for me after a long diving trip.
fabulous. Loved every minute of my time at the sheraton. can't wait until I return next year.
A few problems with service, air conditioner not working as well as should have in room, but overall would recommend. Food was very expensive. Quality in buffet okay. Restaurants excellent. Staff friendly
There are several hotels to choose from in Denarau, and although I haven't stayed at all of them, I've had a chance to tour, stay at or eat at a few, and from that I can say the Sheraton is one of the best. The atrium and entrance are lovely and well lit, the staff helpful, and the restaurants are fabulous. Our room was lovely and opened straight to the beach. I would definitely come back. Also, the adults only pool and quiet area are divine for a break from the kiddies!
Position great as a stop over to go to holiday destination. They ran out of pool towels for quite a long time. Also during breakfast there was no glasses for fruit juice or coffee cups.
AC wouldn't go 24 C and safe did not work and repair efforts at both were futile.
We spent only a night there on route to the airport - and wished that we had booked for the whole 2 weeks. It was a perfect closure to our stay in Fiji. The lovo night was particularly spectacular. Next time we will certainly arrange a longer stay at the Sofitel Fiji.
Comfortable room, great bed, great hotel location right on the water, huge pool, plenty of activities on site a few areas of resort need updating - pool tile looks a little tired, etc. people saving lounge chairs by pool means there aren't enough seats and despite a hotel sign saying towel left on chairs would be removed after 30 minutes, when we asked, the person responsible wasn't willing to help. Not a major deal - we ended finding chairs on the beach, but a annoyance they are obviously used to dealing with.
The proximity of the beach and pool areas. The surroundings were beautiful and especially the Fiji people who work there - they were wonderful. They were friendly, respectful and very unassuming. I didn't like all the taxes we paid on our bill when we were leaving! It was actually a surprise, because I thought it was all included in the price.
We enjoy the time spent in this luxury hotel with a beatiful swimming pool, spa and other facilities for relax. Very nice the garden.
Wonderful experience with wonderful staff at the resort! Food was amazing and the weather was great.
We were over awed by the luxury and presentation of the hotel. the pool was amazing as were all the facilities. The beach was disappointing with grey soil the main ingredient of the sand. Consequently the water is murky. I would have thought the resorts would have put a lot more into their beaches.
Good location, excellent facilities, friendly, attentive and efficient staff Pool size somewaht limited in view of number of guests. Might be less crowded if beach also in use (stayed during poor weather)
Nice rooms and good location The front desk staff are poorly informed and need a good deal of coaching in the way that Booking.com works!
Still smells brand new after 4 years and absolutely wonderful staff - so friendly and helpful. I think the restaurants were excellent with very good wine choice by glass and bottle; specifically the fine diner was outstanding with wines to match.
the staff and their attitute to their guest was amazing - they could not do enough for us there was nothing that we did not like at the resort
We just got back from a honeymoon, 8 nights at Vomo Island Resort and I can't tell you how perfect our entire stay was. Some of the other guests were staying a few days and then going to another part of Fiji but I am so glad we decided to stay the entire time at Vomo. The whole staff works so hard and made us feel extremely welcome and at home. We had a hillside villa, more private than the beachfront if it's # * or #*, and fabulous views. We were fishing (although my husband chipped in for a trolling pole from the mainland b/c he couldn't believe all they had was handline fishing). Everything was fabulous, thank goodness we went to Vomo and didn't stay at a resort on the mainland. It was everything paradise offers and I am ready to go back. Yes, they welcome children and do appear to take great care if utilizing the daycare services, however why in the world would someone want to bring children? Even the pitter patter of feet can be annoying if parents don't have class and allow this, although most families were respectful. My favorite part of Vomo was the food. Although they set times for breakfast lunch and dinner, you are completely ready for each and we never missed a meal. I always looked forward to the changing menus and interesting food combinations, exotic and different. It did seem crazy that we had to pay for drinks, signing for * or * fiji dollars for beers at each meal seemed a bit cheap of the resort considering what we paid for our stay, but it did not ruin a thing, it was absolutely a perfect stay at Vomo!
Very nicely located next to the beach away from the big resorts. Very friendly and motivated staff. Waiting times for food at the restaurant but managed well, one day we got a complimentary glass of wine for the long waiting time.
Very friendly and helpful staff, quiet location and nice sandy beach very close to our accomodation
The service staff was remarkable! So friendly and accommodating! They call you by name. Our stay was pleasant mainly because of the wonderful people we met.
Most of the stuff are nice and friendly (especially Rosanna), but not all of them. Variety of guests. Very helpful hous keeping, if you tell them what they should do. When I was taking a nap in the room, two of their stuff came into our room and checked our safe, but we didn't ask them anything about safe. I really didn't understand why they came in to the room suddenly. When we asked a taxi to Nandi downtown, 3 of their stuff came together to go home without asking us anything and we had to pay complete price for the taxi. I guess that I was cheated by them. Rosanna was reasonable enought to understand our complaint and pay us back part of the taxi charge though, I still feel bad about them. What makes it worse is that their manager didn't say one word "sorry". Breakfast with bugs. Soup tastes change everynight (not professional).
Great staff. Great breakfast deals. Facitlities need to be kept cleaner, dusted more often. As above. I did note that bar staff were often asked by the manager to perform many tasks that were surplus to what they were currently doing wile serving hotel guests at the bar. Many guests complained between ourselves about what appeared to be bad treatment from the manager toward the staff. The staff do an excellent job.
everything! The location was great, the staff were super friendly and very helpful, the food was great and it was very good value for money. Theres not a lot to do at the resort itself other than relax and chill out, or take one of their kayaks out for a paddle around the mangroves. Which was fine with us, as it meant an enforced relaxation which we certainly needed. It's a great base from which to roam. The place was very comfortable and homely. We found Denarau hotels too plastic and fake for our liking. Better service etc no doubt but exactly like any other hotel chain bedroom in any other country, You wouldn't know you were in Fiji! it was a bit far out, so you do need to take a taxi (or hire a car) to get anywhere. The hotel will arrange transport but charges heaps for this service. The hotel charges $27FJ per person to pick you up, or deliver you to, the airport whereas a taxi will charge just $25FJ per cab (which can carry 4 people comfortably + luggage). I recommend not to bother arranging transport with the hotel and just catch a cab upon arrival at the airport. Always ask first how much it will cost - taxis there don't have meters. You can hire a taxi driver for an entire day as well if you don't feel like driving. Again barter with them as to how much it will cost.
The two bedroo garden villa was excellent - very comfortable, lovely private swimming pool. Good kitchen and laundry facilities. A great babsitter and other staff were very friendly to our 1 year old daughter. Food excellent. Probably wouldn't stay there the whole holiday. We stayed there for a night on our way to Yasawa Islands. Perfect for this sort of transition accommodation.
enjoyed the total ambience of a fijian setting. wondeful dining experiences and great staff. sorry the pool was under renovation, missed it wish there was easier access to swim in the channel, from the beach. missed the pool, so was looking for a place to cool off.
Very impressed with the great friendly service (Fijiians are awesome!!). \nThe bar staff were charming and friendly. They made us feel like we were home.\nThe snorkling was another highlight!! Beautiful! Lots of peace and quiet.\nThe rooms were well positioned and had excellant air conditioning.\nThe iguana and turtles were another highlight as well as the little banded rails.\nBeachcomber island isn't too far away you can kayak to it.\nWould definately recommend it!!\n
We only stayed one night here during our two weeks on the Fiji Islands but this place was almost surreal. Food was top for the islands staff was soooo friendly and welcoming. This place is classier than many of the smaller island resorts. Live music day and night. Beautiful island wonderful bures. Even though this island is remote we prefer to travel where there are fewer travelers. It was a great getaway date night from our other destination in FIJI. Would recommend to families groups adults etc.... Hope to return.
Location Nothing is included and the optional are a little expensive
The rooms were lovely The reservation desk was a shambles and had no knowledge of our booking and speaking to others this was common. The food was expensive for the area and rather poor.
I chose this hotel based on its low rate and proximity to Nadi airport, and as such, I wasn't expecting much. However, I was more than pleasantly surprised when I was shown to my bure which was large, comfortable and charming. The room was cleaned every day. All the staff are a joy and the place is run very efficiently. I ate at the restaurant every night and the food was delicious. My aim was to have a relaxing holiday and I definitely achieved this in lovely surroundings. It's a place where you can do as much as you want or as little as you want - I chose the latter and it was perfect. It's only a 15 minute drive from Nadi airport, so it's ideal if you've got a short stopover in Fiji. The beach/sea is disappointing, but there is always the swimming pool! It rained for most of the time I was there, so going to the beach wasn't an issue.
the staff was so very, very nice. the bar was fun and the food was good. no television (though we were rarely in the room), no roof on the bathroom so not as much privacy as an American would like.
Lovely setting of bungalows, chairs and hammocks along the beach. Staff very helpful and pleasant. The air conditioning in our small room could not cool it below 80 degrees, even when we had it running for 3 days straight. Beach is covered in trash: plastic, tires, glass. There was so much broken glass that we had to wear sandals into the water.
The room was ok and clean. The staf is very bad, the location of the resort is very very bad, away from anything and in front of a horrible beach dirty with brown water. And they charge you 50 cents a minute for using internet (only one computer).
location, food, staff - superb orange juice was tasteless (with water?) on the breakfast, two-storied bed (expected one big bed)
Despite the party atmosphere the room we stayed in was quiet. The staff was also friendly and helpful. The free island dance performance is worth watching. The beds were very uncomfortable, there were bugs in the bathroom, the surrounding beach area wasnt very nice at all. Not romantic, good for one night stay for traveling.
The staff is very nice. The facility lacked Any ambience or character. The website says airport shuttle - yet when we arrived we were informed theshuttle only offers pick up service.
The staff were so friendly, helpful and courteous! the location was paradise!! Being collected from the airport was a lovely extra! we loved our stay at Smugglers cove!!
it was close to the airport, everyone was helpful and frendly. the food was great. that you could have a beer at the bar or lunch at the dinning room and keep a eye on the kids in the pool.
It is what it is. I was in Nadi on a 15-hour layover between Melbourne & LA, so I just wanted access to a beach, so under $20US for a bed & locker in a dorm room was totally worth it for beachfront access. The rod & showers were dirty, and the Pirate Dorm smelled so awful (like a monster mix of body odor, feet, and fish), that I couldn't nap in there as planned. And I'd advise wearing flip flops in the showers to avoid mold or fungus. BUT the beach is awesome, the staff is friendly, the restaurant is surprisingly excellent, I got a fantastic massage at the spa, and they have all sorts of activities available. No idea what the more expensive rooms are like, I'm sure much better than the dorms. But it was definitely worth the $20 to be right on their beautiful beach for the day.
Staffs were helpful, always there when I need to ask about any things; cozy restaurant, great location by the beach front, great information from tourist desk. Breakfast is not satisfiying, juice was not concentrated, price of food from restaurant is quite expensive, not many vegetarian selection, room was smelled awkful because of the bedcover.
the people were very friendly and helpful. views were amazing and an interesting place to stay
The staff was friendly and helpful. The resort is beautiful. No hot water!
The pool, pool bar, and hammocks around pool and restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful
