The location is perfect. It is very charming, just by the river, with views of the Castle also. Spacious room and very large bed The bathroom was a bit cold, but fine
Incredible food, although quite expensive, in a dining room with fantastic views of the river Seine. A really memorable experience.
Great location on the banks of the Seine, comfortable, characterful rooms, wonderful river views from the restautant.
good location - en route back to England/ near Monet's garden comfortable clean room reasonable price no tea/coffee making facilities in room breakfast a bit minimal
A good base for exploring nearby Giverney a few miles away. here are ample restaurants and shops within a few blocks of the hotel, and a lovely park along the Seine. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we got what we expected. Try the adjoining restaurant, which was excellent! No air conditioning or fan, though it was not hot during our June stay. Also, no refrigerator or coffee in the room. And if you can get street parking, opt for that because getting out of the narrow parking garage exit can be quite difficult, and I wouldn't want to try it in a large vehicle!
good hotel in centre of vernon town close to giverny
Restaurant was good, Parking was available on the public car park outside the hotel so no need to pay for parking. Good location in the centre of the town. Easy access to Monets garden at Giverny. sounds silly but the front doors were stiff and a bit difficult to get in with your bags.
nice hotel in nice town. Good for Paris on the train. Meals looked good but restaurant was full on night we stayed. Good bistros in town Rooms a bit tired.
city center location very average. not qualifying for a 3-star rated hotel.
fair size room. elevator. tv. ventiladed with windows including in the bathroom. beautiful dining room and garden, very good breakfast. secured parking if reserved. no
Stayed here for one night so we could visit Giverny. Room for 3 was good size and very comfortable. Liked the separate WC apart from shower room, as this was very convenient for three people. Wish it were closer to train station, but only a 15 minute walk.
Convenient location and services. Good breakfast. Absence of restaurant during the weekend was not a problem as McDo and Buffalo Grill are both adjacent. Good value for money. Nothing.
Location The bathroom smelt and did not seem clean
It was easy to find and although close to the road network there was no noise from outside. The patio and grassed area was pleasant in the evening sunshine. We had a good breakfast. No.
Staff very helpful. English spoken. WiFi worked well. Room and shower very clean. Not advised that Restaurant for evening meal closed although several other restaurants available close by.
The staff were very helpfull. As the hotel restaurant was closed for the August break they were able to direct us to several eating places close by. Even though we only had a smattering of french between us
Convenience for other facilities
Quiet and comfortable good shower. Secure parking and hotel (entry by magic number keypad at night). Easy access to a13 and n154. Ok for one night. Restaurant not open for dinner (only breakfast at extra cost). Buffalo grill opposite only option without car journey. Lavatory seat mount broken (a general finding throughout France). Furnishings good but dated. No tea making facilities.
Excellent location, wifi connection. Good food value and correct comfort in room and bathroom Old TV with a small screen
not much too much noise from the MacDonalds restaurant which is just behind the hotel.
The hotel is coveniently close to main highways with a couple of fast food type oulets to eat at nearby. it is also close to the industrail areas without actually being sited on the park which some are, so, for business its in a good enough area. Breakfast was plentiful and of a good quality The rooms are basic, very basic. Beds are low, hard and very uncomfortable from what i am used to either at home or when i travel. (I travel a lot. 2-3 nights a week most weeks in hotels all over the world). I would not want to stay in this hotel again out of choice. Did not eat in the restaurant in the evning as it had been cosed for a month, presumably for a refurbishment,
The staff were excellent. The accommodation was more than adequate. No complaints.
There was no hot water the morning. The staff said it was due to a breakdown during the night but it could also simply be due to too many showers from other clients before I stood up.
Resturant Small Room very hot
Clean, comfortable, good buffet breakfast
Clean rooms, excellent food Small room, no air con
Clean, comfortable None
The hotel was ideally located for the motorways/road links, the room was very clean and large with a very comfortable bed. The staff were helpful and it was a shame we were there on a Sunday night as the restaurant was closed but it looked really nice. Luckily there were quite a few other restaurants around for us to choose between. We would use this hotel again.
Staff friendly, hotel quiet despite being full, convenient for onward travel on both motorways and other routes, pleasant spot short drive from Rouen. Wifi was available in our ordinary room despite signs saying available in superior rooms. Fish dish very overcooked, otherwise food quite reasonable and good value.
Clean well presented hotel with helpful staff No shower curtain over the bath
The hotel was very easy to find and perfectly situated for our trip south. The room was small but clean and comfortable, we stayed on a Sunday night so the hotel restaurant was closed, but there was a very good restaurant just around the corner. We will be staying at the same hotel on our return jouney back to england.
Room size, cosy blankets and nice breakfast No
Dinners and Breakfasts were very good.
Refurbished rooms Noise from air con fan in room.
Pleasant, efficient, clean
The room decor was good, the bed was very comfortable
Nice bedroom Only one person on duty . She was quite miserable . No one serving at the bar and no wine available. Restaurant closed and no advance warning .
The restaurant meal was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful. I would stay there again.
Excellent room.Good Parking.
The Hotel looks really nice from the outside, with a nice terras and garden in front of the hotel. Enough free parking places. From the inside the hotel is 20 year behind, rooms and corridors are decorrated as if it was early '90.
Reception closed from 5 PM til next morning. We tried to order a bottle of wine, but no service since the restaurant was closed. Had to walk 10 minutes to a shop in town to buy a bottle!
its position close to the centre of this beautiful old town and its pet friendliness
The parking was good and in a secure location. Staff nice and very helpful. Breakfast was adequate. Unfortunately restaurant was closed both Saturday and Sunday. This hotel was not easy to find.
Position of hotel Broken shower Breakfast poor and cleanliness
Room had a mini bar. Room very small and needed decorating.
Homely feel Lack of facilities like Wifi
good breakfast, spacious rooms, quiet
We stayed at this hotel after visiting Monet's Garden at Giverny. The staff were very welcoming and our room was small but comfortable for one night. The restaurant meal was excellent. Good wifi connection and parking. It is just off a main road but with the shutters down we were not disturbed by traffic.
10 minutes away from C.Monet Museum, but there is hotels closer!
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Great breakfast. Although the staff did not speak english, they were very friendly and were patient with my requests. None!
It was close to Monet's Garden at Giverny, only 10 mins drive away. It was out of the way. There was only one menu choice for dinner at the restaurant. The staff were initially quite aloof. You needed to speak French for any queries as the staff did not speak any English.
Basic but clean and comfotable. Good WiFi. Plenty of free parking.
The public rooms were very well appointed and the staff extremely courteous and helpful. Only 1 pillow on the bed. Bar area cramped into Reception. Pasta only available with main meal.
We found the hotel extremely welcoming and eceptionally clean. The Staff etremely helpful, friendly and polite. The Restaurant was of a very high standard in cuisine, style and decor. A thoroughly recommendable hotel in every respect.
Easy access to the restaurant and the good food preparation. The staff was comfortable and agreeable to work with with our limited French vocabulary! Having to walk through the smoking area right at the front entrance. It was difficult to find the hotel.
Beds very comfortable and toilet/shower very good. Overall we were very pleased with the hotel and its convenient location, very relaxed atmosphere. The family were impressed with the wide selection at breakfast. Slight disappointment, one of the reasons for booking the hotel was the convenience of a restaurant facility. Regrettably this was closed on both the days we were there, I notice that in the hotels own publicity it is closed on Sundays - this is not mentioned in your description. My daughter felt and I support her, it would be nice to have coffee/tea facilities in the room as is usual in England.
The hotel was as described -the rooms were good, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. We were returning to Calais after a touring holiday & chose to stay in Vernon as our daughter had stayed there several times in her teens, with a family, and we had also visited with her once. Nothing
Quiet location (with free parking!). Near Monets garden and some pleasant contryside and towns. We were not told that restaurant was closed on Sunday evening. The reception closes at 9:00pm along with the bar/lounge.
The look of the chateau and it's surrounding gardens The practical touches like blinds to close reception. It spoily the grandeur
The location and style was nice but...... Although it was an old manor house the fixtures and fittings did not have to look 'tired'. There were large damp patches on the bedroom wall and the carpet was well past it's best. Restaurant was pleasant, but food average.
We were welcomed warmly, the room was spacious and relaxing, and ut was very quiet with little else around.plus,a chateau sounded like the perfect place to end our trip around france before heading into the chaos of paris!! Nope!Apart from they had advertised there to be a restaurant on site, but it wasnt open in weekends (which hadnt been indicated on the website).hiwever they did offer another restaurant nearby and booked us a table in a cute little cottage-and it was the best french meal we had!!
An excellent menu, really quiet environment, and a great location- esp. for visits to Monet's Garden.
This place is in the throws of renovation and when they are complete, it will be stunning. The original building is approx. 400 years old. The manager was the most helpfull man that i encoutered in France (he even got his english dictonary when he didn't understand me) and a real character. We stayed in two of the older suites, one was horrible, one was fanastic. The horribile (in my opinion) suite is the only room that will not be renovated. GO figure? Different strokes for different folks. I didn't eat there but the food looked good from afar. You will need a car in this region Caution: Suite 25 is "interesting" to say the least. As mentioned above, it is the only suite that will not be renovated and that is because it's unique. Crazy 70's brown and orange wall paper on the walls and roof that i would describe as a bad trip, not at all to my taste but maybe for someone else. But as soon as the manager found out i didn't like the room he swapped us strait away. If 70's decore is not you thing, put a note in your booking not to book suite 25. There is no net cafe or super market in the town but it is a beautiful little town nestled in the forrest
Extremely comfortable, beautiful situation, eating outside on the lawn, the pool. felt the food was very expensive. Breakfast was very expensive for a fairly ordinary buffet
The welcome at reception, the bedrooms, the location in the town and the excellent dinner and breakfast. Although we had booked dinner, we were seated in the small dining room on our own and then ignored . I had to constantly go and find the waiter to serve us. Also could your staff not shout to each other when clearing up after a wedding party. We eventually got to sleep at 3.oo am.
Our junior suite was excellent. Spacious, spotless and very comfortable. Parking. Our named reserved parking space was removed on the second day and given to another hotel client. Receptionist annoyed with us when we complained and asked for our original sparking space back, in fact she was rude. We also thought that the breakfast selection was poor for a hotel with the reputation it has, or is the hotel perhaps living on it's reputation of previous years.
The hotel was delightful, all the staff were friendly and spoke english, to varying degrees, which we found helful. The hotel was situated in the square at Lyons le Foret which enabled us to access bars and restaurants quickly as we were only there for the night. No!
The room was cheap and honest The food was good but rather expensive for the quality. Not a serious problem
The decoration of the hotel is beautiful, and the restaurant terrace to eat breakfast and dinner on is perfect. A bird flying over our table dropped a 'present' on to me and my starter during my meal. They happily replaced my food (once the other guests had finished lauging at my misfortune!)
The location was beautiful and very convenient for exploration. We were very pleased we chose it and the food was 5 Star.
Nice location. Friendly staff. WiFi was not working in the room and was not fixed during my stay.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us very welcome No
Beautiful room. Every need though of. First rate hotel. No charge for our dog. No restaurant but excellent breakfast provided. Staff fantastic. None.
Hotel staff was very nice and kind. They recommended a restaurant and the restaurant was excellent and I could have very good time there.
Not recommended for a overnight stay , we were the only couple in the hotel , there were no facilities , we had to go to the local village for supper and drive back . The hotel is very remote . Lovely surrounds , stunning scenery, but they really cater for Weddings every week end , which is there speciality .
The room was lovely, the staff were good and friendly when there. Hotel overall was clean quiet and well decorated set in wonderful grounds Staff only there when we checked in. Had breakfast and checked out. There was no restaurant as described and we had to eat in the nearest villiage. There were no other customers in the hotel and no one else but us there overnight
The setting, ie. The Gardens. The Restraunt was excellent. Seeing the Hotel was virtually empty, it was a shame our room was in an annexe on the second floor. A little generosity on the room, seeing how expensive the restraunt was would have been appreciated.
The location was great. I did not like the fact that the gates close at 9.30pm and you have to be in the hotel. This does not allow you to eat out and be back in time without cutting your evening short. This is deliberate and is intended to make you eat and drink at the hotel which is expensive. Our evening visiting friends was cut short and spoilt by this. Before staying at this hotel check if this curfew is still in place.
We liked the gardens and the setting as well as the history of the buildings The dining room is also the swimming pool and i did not like the smell of chlorine with my dinner.
Excellent facilities, beautiful setting and building. Poolside restaurant was excellent, we had no problems witht the smell of chlorine. Eating in the hotel is very expensive, but well worth the experience. Breakfast was excellent. The grounds are well kept and good parking. Staff are very attentive to detail. The room was in the annexe, and was far too small , some seating outside of the annexe would be appreciated. Check the cost of the evening meal before booking, as you cannot enter or leave the grounds after 9:00 pm. So you need to be committed to eating in the hotel, which is fine for one night, but would be very expensive for longer. You are not allowed to bring any food or drinks in to the hotel. There is nothing to see or do in the village, it is run down.
The hotel was a beautiful chateau setting along a river. Checkin was good with our luggage being picked up with a golf cart and transported to the appropriate building. Our room was clean and comfortable. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was good. We originally thought the setting around the pool was a bit strange, but it was nice in the end. There was a concerted effort to help with the language issue since we speak very little French. Everyone was frriendly and tried their best to make us comfortable. We had a standard room and the shower was not a separate room-glass enclosed and visible. The security system was a bit overwhelming-had to arrive and depart on a timetable and no leaving your room after midnight or an alarm would be set off. Not a real problem; it was made a point of several times.
The room rate was good given the standard of accommodation. I am not used to having a shower cubicle/handbasin actually in the bedroom (ie not in a seperate room off the bedroom). The bed was small. The restuarant v.expensive with a 125 ml glass of white wine costing 12 euros. The gates were locked at 11.00 pm and you could not get access after this time. The reception didn't open and gates were not unlocked. until 9.00 am. To advertise a spa is stretching the imagination. The small pool is in the resturant and can only be used 9.00am -11.00am and 3,00 - 5.00 pm and also not on Sundays or holidays!
