Quiet large room very close to centre
More noise from the corridor than usual
Location Breakfast is too expensive (18 € !)
The hotel was extremely central. THe breakfast was very good. Rooms spacious and clean. All required facilities present. The hotel staff were extremely helpful
Good value for money, 61 Euros for twin room with nice breakfast buffet. Parking garage below hotel. Excellent location in city centre. Twin rooms were comfortable, but slightly too small as there were two queen size beds.
Location close to City is excelent. More pillows should be provided in rooms for the beds.
The rooms and location The staff who was working on sunday was very unfriendly
The hotel is very central, all amenities are close by, the staff are very friendly and helpful
Close proximity to the university (central campus), shopping, restaurants without need for a car. The noise from the plaza area in front of the hotel--lasted all through the night and was quite loud at times.
We had a brilliant weekend rate. The hotel is a business hotel and our twin room was perfect for our needs. The breakfast was full self-service and plenty full. Leuven is a lovely place and the hotel is very well situated in town. We had a room out to the back which was blissfully quiet. The receptionist on duty was not very welcoming - she seemed to class us by the rate we were paying and the rucksacks on our backs. Or she was just not enjoying her job.
Nice architecture, historical, convenient to city center.Good breakfast.
Wonderful services, location, facilities and staff. No. I have stayed there several times and it is always a pleasure to go back.
The lovely grounds, freindly staff and the bathrobes
Nice overall impression. Considerig that the hotel was build in an old Monestary, the rooms very not very well isolated, causing big differnece in temperateure in diffierent parts of the room.
we found the staff courteous ,friendly and helpful. It was an excellent example of a small friendly and very comfortable hotel. One lack is the absence of a comfort tray ie tea/coffee tray in the room.
Hotel staff, garden Access to the parking
Nice furnishings and friendly people.
Room 106 comfortable though smaller than room we had on last visit. Bathroom possibly in need of upgrading. Bath tap a bit difficult to control and water emptying from bath very slow. Staff very friendly and helpful. See comment on bathroom.
Breakfast was excellent, staff attentive, homely atmosphere. Would like to have had tea and coffee making facilities in room.
warmth and friendleyness of everthink breakfast was cold water in pots for tea warm coffie cold plates that were used for hot food were very cold taking heat from the food
Location Parking facilities
breakfast buffet no pool
the staff were so helpful and nice and the food was great in particular the breakfast.
It is nice. It is not so new.
location, helpful staff, comfortable room although pleased that wireless internet was available and reliable, it was quite expensive
NIce that they have their own restaurant, so I can work late but don't have to look for food. No.
Cleanliness of hotel Getting to it from station, a bit of a trek with luggage and entrance not on main road but behind. But ok once u know where it is
The best for me was the price! My son who is 13 enjoyed the breakfast. The rooms are very clean and it is very quiet to sleep at night.
A clean, modern hotel. Very friendly staff that spoke English.
Location is perfect. Walk to check in at airport. Restaurant costly and service in restaurant slow.
Position of electric outlets in rooms too far from bed
Convenient to airport - just walk across the street.
40 steps to Brussels international airport
Perfect. Just in front of the departure hall. The best place where to stay if you depart early in the morning.
Can walk across street to airport. Bar area was short staffed so see I e was dry slow, but to their credit, the bar manage really was concerned. Plus their computer system was down
Very convenient for catching early morning flight The hotel was under renovation - the only restaurant operating was very crowded and busy
Perfect location, nice and well spoken staff. Wonderful mattrass
Can't beat the location if you need an early flight the next day.... This is ripoff pricing. First of all, the website says rooms from E139. But don't try to find a room at that price, E209 is what you pay. Without internet. Without Parking. Without breakfast. Even Tokyo and Paris are cheaper.
Extremely very well situated across from Brussels airport entrance. It's the prime dpot to spend the last night before you leave. The good is good. Good breakfast. It's on the more expensive side but the location is what makes this property so convenient. There is a good train connection at the airport to get to the center of Brussels Antwerp Gent of Oostende. Its of course well understandable to the expensive side. Breakfast $25. But it's location makes you accept.
It was conviently located for our needs. My wife and I needed to take a flight early the next morning and, while we aren't rich, we enjoyed our stay for the night. We were ready to take the flight. Leaving. It was sooooo good. It is unfortunate in this survey that there wasn't a choice "very good" because the item that we checked as good was very good, yet not excellent.
Excellent location I had a very badly soundproofed room (next to the lift). Outrageous for a room of that price.
The staff was exceptionally helpful and very friendly. They provided helpful and accurate information on the local transportation schedules and always came to the desk to greet us when we came in. The breakfast (included) was quite good, with many selections to choose from, and presided over by a lovely and friendly manager.
Nice ambience, nice people at reception, the artie breakfastroom Reception looks kind of cheap at first glance Cleaning starts early and noisy (our room was next to 'Dienst'
Very good position, hotel staff very helpful, good breakfast A disturbing smell from bathroom during the night. The rooms are not very well acoustic insulated, so you might hear what's happen with your neighbours.
Comfortable room, friendly staff, central location. Excellent all-round
The clean and spacy rooms, and the very polite staff
I found the staff to be very helpful. Breakfast was outstanding!
Thye staff were very helpful and friendly in this conveniently situated hotel Noise in the street by late- night party-goers
The perfect location neear the centre of Leuven
Very attractive dining room, excellent location
Unusual split level was attractive. Would be nice if the third bed was on the lower level and the sofa upstairs to relax with TV. Everything was excellent
Please write at least 15 words
friendly staff no swimming pool, paid sauna
The quiet and well maintained grounds No, by far the best hotel we have stayed in in Belgium
The staff were friendly and helpful. Also, most spoke very good English.
The very helpful reception staff who would do anything that you needed in a timely and professional manner. The breakfast was excellent. The room was slightly smaller than I expected, and not as clean as it should have been. Also, the rooms could do with some upgrading, e.g. mobile phones would interfere with the clock radio.
The breakfast was great. If that's a four star hotel they must be very small stars. The room was expensive and looked like it hadn't changed since the early 80s. The bathroom was older and not clean.
The gardens were nice and itwas very quiet and peaceful.Breakfast room had a wonderful "old world " feeling. Very close to Begginshof for walking and exploring on foot. for a 4 star hotel the room was a little small but not a problem!
My stay was excellent. The hotel was clean, the food excellent, and the staff eager to serve.
Very cosy and stylish at the same time. I love historical settings Could widen dinner menue
nice outside vieuw in breakfast room additional pay for sauna while i was in suite room, sometimes a litlle years 80 dated.
Sheltered, quiet, nice neighborhood, friendly stuff Smell in the room, unusual architecture in the room
The fashinating location, the large space and the atmosphere in the room. The gastronomy.
Nicely converted building on the outskirts of Leuven, within the university campus. Busy and lively restaurant. Nothing
very good hotel, beautifull location, friendly people
good location, very quiet, beautifull hotel, breakfast included
A beautiful hotel about 5 minutes taxi ride out of Leuven City centre (normally between €10-€15 a journey but that was for a 6 seater taxi). The building & rooms were stunning with lovely red brick & exposed beams. The breakfast was delicious with a good choice (fruit salad, yogurt, bread, cheese, meats, cerial, eggs & bacon) we also ate in the hotel restaurant one evening which was really good too, although quite expensive. There was 6 of us in our group (3 couples) & we all said that we would definitely stay at The Lodge again & recommend it to friends & family.
Lovely atmospheric conversion of old buildings enclosing a courtyard. Nice terrace outside the restaurant for drinks or meals in good weather Our suite room had a window at floor height with no lock which our toddler could easily open leading to a potential sheer drop of several metres. We had to be extremely vigilant with her. The hotel and room were beautifully appointed with one exception: the television was the smallest, cheapest box money can buy. It was totally out of keeping
Romantic atmosphere in the suite (nr. 8), very spacious, bathroom in the room. No fridge in the suite, room was cold when we first came in.
Very nice environment for both leisure and business, next to Kasteelpark Arenberg and suitable for both romantic strolls and work at the university across the street. Good brasserie in Belgian style (that's a plus). Very large room, very high (under old wooden roof construction). Good airco -- which is needed. Ideal weekend getaway, perfect for efficient business, a combination rarely found. The bathroom is built inside the room, behind a wall. Very nice, but it could use a direct light source.
Interesting interior design of room, nice and quiet Bathroom in bedroom, OK as idea but handshower in bath, not possible to hang up, definitely very inconvenient. Same with lack of space to put soap or shampoo near bath. Towels can only be hung from hooks, no racks to let them dry properly.
Perfect location, near train station and access to downtown All was so small bathroom shower bed, the first person who extended the welcome was clearly uncomfortable speaking in French and made every effort possible to make it clear. There was not AC so we had to tolerate a hot room during the day. The disposition of the beds made impossible to walk around the room.
I had an early train and it took me 5 minutes to get from my room on the sixth floor to the track. you really can't beat that. the closest laundromat was about an 8 minute walk away, did not have soap for sale and of course is not on the web. the staff was very helpful in giving directions but i would not consider this an ideal hotel for someone who is planning to do laundry.
Room - nice modern decor Room location (next to restaurant and public restroom) Wooden blinds do not completely cover doors and block light 'Cooked' breakfast was not - just cheese and cold meat
atmosphere noises (room 1)
the restaurant was superb, and good value. the rooms were stylish and spacious. wifi worked well and was included in price. would go back. the rooms were poorly equipped, no hairdryer, iron, sewing kit etc
Room was very comfortable Breakfast was very good When entering the hotel, there is a little fish odor.
A good small hotel, well located and with a superb restaurant next door- The Voltaire No
Hotel was excellent reasonably priced beautiful rooms friendly staff ,good location No facility to get tea or coffee in the hotel ?
No wireless internet available in the room, while stated access avialable, not very pleasent if travelling for business
The big bathroom with the jacuzzi was great! We did not sleep in the hotel, but in the seperate building a few streets further. On sundaymorning there was a market - we did not hear any noise at all, windows are well isolated. And it was such a lovely market with yummy belgian pastries!
Modern and stylish room. The pillows were much too small!
Nice clean bathroom. small room and needs insulation (one can hear everything going on in other rooms and in the corridor) - otherwise good. Please note that the "Fair" comments above are not complaints, as I did not expect the Ibis to be a 5 star hotel.
Friendly staff. Very nice room.
very close and conveniently to the centre; all you need when staying for a short in the big city
Location Expensive, pokey car park with very tight access
cleanliness of hotel and central location noise transmitted from other rooms
small room, bit congested. No fridge in the room. Breakfast should have been complimentary. Friendly, helpful staff. Budget accommodation for a single person.
Helpful and friendly staff. Efficient reception and rooms clean and well maintained
Staff was very friendly Restaurant was a bit too small. Some days there was not a table available for having breakfast...
very nice and welcomig staff. small rooms, but yet very well furnished there,s was an akward smell that sometimes came out of the toilet?
Feeling at home ( 5th year we stayed at the IBIS ). Staff very friendly and helpful ( especially Joost ).
Friendly & helpful staff. Several items in the room were missing or broken. Requested they be fixed but not taken care of because it was the weekend.
Wired internet is comfortable, and small refrigerator is available, bus stop is nearby, and staff is helpful. A blanket was not so good, and people in 4th floor must use stair.
The bed was good and the staff was very helpful. I liked the breakfasts.
The location of the hotel meant that the centre of Leuven was within 10 minutes. Parking of the hire car was easy, as I could park almost in front of the main hotel entrance in a metered parking space (free overnight as long as the car is moved by 9am) The light switches in the room were strangely configured so that I could not turn off the bedside lights without going to the main switch by the door.
Very friendly receptionist helping at the desk after late arrival. Room was poor of furniture and athmosphere/ old sixties.
Excellent breakfast - friendly & helpful staff. Excellent location for town centre. Room heating controls confusing and without explanation.
Value for money, pleassant staff
Helpful staff who are friendly and very honest.
We loved your staff and your services. Your staff were friendly, knowledgable, and willing to help us get around the city. Your hosted breakfast was wonderful as well, and it added to the value of our room. We will recomend Hotel New Damshire to all of our friends when they visit Leuven. The only problems we had were the intense smell of smoke in our non-smoking room and the sound of construction in the morning. We realize that there is not much you can do about the latter, and we were very satisfied with our stay.
the hotel staff, the fact that is very near to Oude Markt and Begijnhof The street is a bit noisy
Newly renovated, well designed small B&B with very friendly and helpful staff no complaints
Access to internet, hotel staff quite helpful. To expencive in relation to the quality. Far to the center, what could be challenging on weekend because of the bus-timetable
Excellent renovation of suburban house to a very high design standard. Good rapport ' qualite/prix' for a B &B. Current parking limited ( some enlargement apparently planned)
I liked the amzing shower and modern design of the B&B. The breakfasts were good and the staff was hospitable.
We found very kind the B&B staff and the place is amazing.
clean and modern room no reception on arrival at 19h !
Nice, kind and helpful staff, everything is very clean and tidy. Bus stop is just in front of the BB. no other accomodations close to KUL Heverlee campus & imec (3 min.walk)
As we arrived from the Uk by car, it was very close to the Motorway and there is a bus into the towncentre a few yards from the B&B. The management were very friendly and helpful and we felt like staying in somebodys house. The place was spotless and comfortable. Parking facilities need to be bettered, but that is already promised.
Nice house with brandnew renewed rooms and a super hightech shower. Friendly people, good situated to reach downtown. We loved it.
Small, cosy, quiet hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Nice clean room and facilities.
comfortable room excellent breakfast
NIce quite smallhotel, nice people
Nice and clean hotel. Staff very nice. Good beakfast. The bells were ringing all the night ! (It was said it is unusual). Avoid the rooms under the roof.
very good restaurant !
New and nice design hotel with a garden. Large room and bathroom!Free car park. Free Internet access. Very good Chef (roast Chef).
Very modern and clean Hotel, friendly people, excellent restaurant, large room. Unfortunate the is a church nearby, you can hear the clock every half hour.
Room was very clean and furniture modern and nice. Very warm welcome from the hotel owner. The price for breakfast too high
The service was excellent and the room I had was very nice. The menue was very limited and expensive
Very nice bathroom :)
None Unfriendliness of personel and staff
Its position in Leuven, and the no-fuss freedom it allowed
Location Room decor, very dark.
It is a safe area. But in general Leuven is a safe city. It is OK to stay for a short period of time. Location is not very convenient, though it is a safe area. The room is clean, but the bed is really uncomfortable.
The apartment at St. Maartenstraat 12 was nice, spacious and in a quiet location. In the beginning the staff (young male) was not very friendly but another staff (lady in the next office) was very helpful and tried very hard to find a suitable apartment for us. We booked One Bedroom Duplex Flat at Dekenstraat 87 but what we were offered when we arrived was totally unaceptable. The flat was very small, with a bedroom on mezzanin (upstairs) and a tiny dark bathroom. Eventually we paid extra and moved to a nice business apartment at St. Maartenstraat 12. This took a lot of time and negotiations.
The friendliness of the flat No
location, price no internet connection in room, despite promise
The staff was very flexible with check-in times and the kitchenette was well equipped. The bed could only be reached via a narrow stair which was situated in a tiny corner of the room.
Description on web accurate: A student flat with a kitchen, bathroom, etc. We stayed in the dual level flat with the bed upstairs. Kitchen had enough to cook for yourself. Bathroom was stocked with towels. Little items not cleaned up on arrival, had not been vacuumed in a long time (all floors dirty but tolerable).
