Cons: the location is the biggest drawback. it is quite a walk from the eurostar station, especially if you have large suitcases. The uneven, decorative paving of the sidewalks do not help either. The area around the hotel is truly industrial looking and not very pleasant. The men at the front desk did not help us bring in our baggage and I was surprised since this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel. Even though the hotel is modern, it feels and looks more like an office building than a hotel. The food in the restaurant is ok, nothing really special if I am honest.

Cons: The brasserie was average. Food was good but the management/ service was practically non existent. Had to get up from our table after sitting for about 10 minutes to ask the staff what the format was... Buffet or ordering from menu as no one had explained anything to us! Had to get up from table after another 10 minutes to ask to order drinks. Same again when we asked for the bill... Waited 15 minutes and asked 3 times. Waitresses did their jobs but felt the manager was weak. Boked a session in the spa for 10am, sat there for 15 minutes waiting but no one turned up. Husband rang reception from our room and was told that the beautician was off sick, had not been informed. Poor communication between departments.

Pros: A wonderful conversion of an old hospital with lots of character and beautiful artifacts. There are many peaceful and interesting places to sit inside and outside. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We were shown to our room by a charming young man via the lovely old Chapel. The room was spacious and very comfortable with a clever eclectic mix of old and new decor tastefully executed. I am disabled and use a mobility scooter. This hotel was an ideal place to stay as I could get around everywhere easily. Parking was no problem opposite the hotel after dropping off luggage at the front. An exceptional experience in this special city centre hotel. We will return again next year for our first night after our Eurotunnel crossing. Absolutely highly recommend.

Cons: This is a very good 4* hotel; not worth its 5*. Staff was polite enough, but just not up to the standard of a 5* establishment. The hotel must get a designer - the lobby area but also the room are furnished without taste, as if with leftover pieces. The pool is very noisy - the water evacuation is not well designed so anytime one swims, the pool literally... makes noise! Again, should not happen in a 5* hotel.

Pros: The breakfast was superb with a lot of choice- both continental and cooked, and a lot from a local source. A good choice of fruit purees, yoghurt, jams, bread (including a lovely sugar infused brioche,), cold meat, cheese, fruit, We nearly went out for breakfast, but I'm glad we didn't, as this surpassed anything for choice and cost.
Cons: There were a few people begging on the pavements opposite, but they didn't bother any tourists, and seemed to be more as if they were asking for payment for helping find car park spaces

Pros: We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights. Beds were comfortable and rooms were nice. Staff was courteous and responsive as they could be.
Cons: While the location was just steps away from the center of Lille, the street it is located on is night and day compared to the street over. Kids and other beggars confronted you as you entered and exited the hotel. It was located by a popular restaurant, that was open until the early hours of the morning, which makes it difficult when you have to sleep with the windows open. A/C did not cool rooms at all. When questioned staff, was told that it was normal. Mosquitoes were horrible. Worst two nights of sleep I have had on my trip in France thus far. Don’t book here in the summer unless you are used to sleeping in the heat! Would probably stay here again if it was cooler outside and AC wasn’t needed.

Pros: The location as it’s in the centre but the area does not look nice, very dirty and smelly.
Cons: Room very small once the sofa bed for the children is open. Breakfast is not good, poor quality food. We asked for a cappuccino and fried eggs but they were not able to do them because there is no kitchen in the hotel! The area is not nice at all and smelly.

The rooms were exceptionally clean also so soundproof that we overslept the first morning while thousands of people walked the street below. Extremely helpful and friendly staff throughout our stay. We loved the room as it had two doors to seperate from the hotel corridor and it was equipped with a coffee and tea maker. There was no trouser press as announced, but we received ironing utensils on request. After all, the staff was very helpful, albeit a bit sober.

Cons: In the dark it was very difficult to spot driving between pedestrian bollards on pedestrian roadway ( also used by cars) but coming from the U.K. we thought that wasn’t allowed, so missed the turn between the hippopotamus restaurant and Paul’s bakery and then got very lost in traffic round and round but staff were very helpful to get us finally to the hotel and came out to find and meet us!

The staff were lovely and very patient with my attempts to speak French. Even though they clearly spoke English they answered in French which I appreciated.

Cons: The bathrooms smelled of humidity, they felt dirty, and there was nowhere to place toiletries in the shower. The shower itself was a spray that went everywhere except over your head, so it was difficult to shower. I felt they were very uncomfortable. It seems under-staffed. There is only 1 person at reception (only staff I saw in a big big hostel) and in order to ask anything you have to wait for them to finish all check ins, check outs, etc. Was never able to get help from them. They didn't seem to eager to help either but I guess they are just busy. The lockers are very noisy, they dont stay open, so even if people want to be quiet it's very hard with that. No soap in the hand-washing basin. Have to make your own bed. I feel like it was very overpriced for what you get in return. Feels like a 10€ hostel, not a 25€ like I paid. They have too many beds and rooms with too little staff and bathrooms.

The cost will be about 25.00€ for all week end long (from Friday 12.00 PM to Saturday 12.00 PM), and €10.10 for 24h (weekend) and 22.20€ for week. Beyond 24h, you have a supp at €8.60." unfortunately, I could not cancel my booking because it was nonrefundable. The car park charged me 43€ only for 2 and a half days.

Cons: The person who checked us in was absolutely friendly and we had a great first impression but then the next day the staff was just unfriendly and unhelpful. My car was sitting out side the hotel in a bay after making an enquiry I was told I cannot park there due to restrictions and move to the hotel car park. When I moved my car it was very small the angle of the parking gate is horrible and unsuitable for SUV or long vehicles. I went back to the hotel to explain them they were like then find yourself a parking somewhere in the white zone. As I am visiting first time in Lille I had no idea what white zone is so I asked him about it he was like look on the floor- it was very unhelpful. We had an option of parking else where as hotel did not clarify the situation of the gate that is small we thought we can park at the hotel unknowingly we will be in this situation. Most staff did not speak English. After the parking situation on last day cleaning services knocked at the door at 9.00am and waked us up even though we did not ask for room cleaning. The beds were actually twin joined together and it was very uncomfortable to sleep on them. Good we did not stay here long it would have been ruined holidays....

Pros: Situated just off The Grand Place, so away from the bustle of the square. Historic building, with a modern interior. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The room overlooked a quiet tree lined square, so no noise at night. Plenty of tea coffee, and toiletries , topped up daily. The bed was lovely and comfy. Breakfast self service .
Cons: Although breakfast had a variety, it did get a bit sparse towards 10am. Bacon and eggs disappeared, but plenty of breads cheeses and ham left

Cons: The room was small, shabby and infested with mosquitoes. We were bitten multiple times during our stay. Clothes storage was inadequate, with limited hanging space and no drawers whatsoever. The lavatory flush is faulty - it keeps filling up. The hotel lift is laughably tiny, and just as laughably slow. There was often an unpleasant smell in reception. The lounge area is drab and depressing. This is a soulless hotel to which we will never return.

Cons: The name suggests that the hotel is in the centre of Lille, it is actually quite a long walk from it. It was fine for one night, but I wouldn’t walk in that neighbourhood by myself at night. With my partner it was fine though.

Cons: The hotel advertised as having onsite parking, which on arrival we were told it was being redesigned and would be closed for the length of our stay. On street parking was very hit and miss. We managed to get a space, but dare not move it for fear of ending up parked a long way from the hotel. We also mentioned when booking that it was my wife's birthday on the day we arrived and our wedding anniversary on the Thursday. No mention of either event from anyone at the hotel. Other hotels often offer a free upgrade or meal or spa treatment, but not even a free drink here. Also it was a shame that there wasn't a lounge or bar inside, the outside was very nice, but noisy during the day with the carpark work being done, and got a bit chilly in the evening.

Cons: It seemed like everything technology related didn’t work. The Aircon wouldn’t turn off. The safety deposit boxes didn’t function despite moving rooms. The TV didn’t work. Our frustration was exacerbated because we repeatedly asked for these matters to be addressed but to no avail. There is a seemingly odd charge of €18 euros to use the hot tub when the rest of the Spa facilities are included. This could be a really nice boutique hotel if only these quibbles could be rectified.

Cons: I knew the location was out of central Lille but I was expecting at least the staff to have some maps or give instructions about how to get to the nearest metro or bus stop. I actually had to ask them to tell me how to move around. I spent five days there, the cleaning person did not show up once and then I saw on the notice at the door that I had to pay extra for them to come and change the towels or even take the rubbish. It was particularly hot this week in Lille so the rubbish in my room starting smelling after day 3.. Though the booking was for two people, we only got one towel the first day we arrived and one bottle of shower gel which was not renewed throughout our stay. The bathroom had no window and the room's only window was olong the outside corridor where people go passed to go to their own rooms. As there was non air-con in the room, i had to leave the window ajar at night, which made me feel unsafe. Also, the safety light was located right across the window, making sure my room was not even remotely dark at any point during the night. I had to choose between lowering the shades all the way to the bottom and roasting in the hot room or leaving the window open and having the light shine in my room.

Cons: The guy at the reception was the most impolite guy I have ever seen in a hotel ! He should be fired right away... He was super rude, snapped at us a couple of times, didnt want to help out with anything, told us we could not use the parking (even tho we were parked already) and gave us the wrong code for our room. His “helper” or friend was a dodgy looking guy roaming around the parking, spying at us but not saying anything. We only found out he worked at the hotel after check in, so we thought he was following us. You have to book the parking upfront, despite what it says on booking, but i would advice againt it, as the parking is so small you will for sure damange your car there. Reception area of the hotel is really old & scruffy. We did not feel safe in this place!

Cons: Hotel was dirty, unpleasant. Hairs on the beds. In the toilet little mould on the wall. Room is like a square box, no carpet on the floor

Cons: The room was hot. There were only two flat pillows. The woman on the desk was too busy to call a taxi for us although no one else was in line. She was talking on a cell phone. We would have had breakfast but it ended at 9:30 a.m. and we missed it. The hotel is not in a good area. No restaurants nearby and it's not near the train station

Cons: What I dislike is the stuff didn’t care when the the water in the bathroom in my children room wasn’t working. They came and checked in the night then they did nothing to help or even suggested any idea. They lift the room without water. This is the thing I really hate it.

Cons: - There was no fan in the room. It was very warm summer day (and night), even with the opened window. And it was very loud outside with the opened window. - Toilet ventilation was very loud! I woke up in the middle of the night thinking someone is vacuuming.

Pros: Location was good in regards to restaurants as there were plenty of places to eat at walking distance and were open until late.
Cons: No kettles in the rooms, it was noisy area at night we could hear people in the street talking and shouting late in the night so sleep was not good, we stayed at ground floor next to road. Luckily we found parking space for our car other wise there was no parking space available for additional cars, it was full.
