Cons: Our room faced the courtyard, which should have been quiet. We found the room a little warm for sleeping, but an open window also let in noise from conversations in the garden. I think a whisper in that garden would reflect all the way up the hotel walls. This is really minor. Would definitely stay here again.

They also offer this incentive to be "greener" which is fabulous idea, basically you get a token to use in the bar if you re-use towels etc. Would certainly recommend this hotel. Location was great for walking round Lille.

Cons: There were no international news channels offered on the TV. Usually there is at least one station that you can watch to get caught up on international news. At a quick glance it looked like there were some, but when you clicked on it, the channel wan't available. Disappointing.

Cons: Room service was very limited and not very good quality. The bar downstairs can get very loud which makes it tough to sleep if you're there over the weekend. The climate control in the room was locked and the set temperature was a bit too high for my tastes. The rooms are also quite small.

Pros: Breakfast was excellent - a nice selection of cheeses, breads, fruit and hot dishes. We were able to go all day without a midday meal. Location is just off the Grand Place (Main Square) and easy walk from Lille Flanders station and to most in town sites. Lots of cafes and restaurants just minutes away on foot as well as an in house restaurant. Staff is wonderful and very helpful. Always greeted us with a smile! Nice room with well equipped bath.

Cons: Is it a trend with hotels that they don’t expect you to bring anything with you? Mini shampoo, conditioner, face products (x3) body wash, toothbrush and paste ALL lined up around the edge of the bathroom sink. Together with the little basket of ‘house’ miniatures. It was that or put them above the toilet, or on the floor I guess. What if there were two of us?! Also, whoever hung the mirror in that room needs a slap, 5ft tall and all I could see was the top of my head. Yes, of course there were other mirrors, but you have to add: plugging in the hair dryer somewhere, to make it real fun. Oh, and I don’t think the tv was hung level, just saying.

Cons: Very small rooms and very small bathroom. Nicely done, but cramped. Would be too small for anything other than a weekend trip. There is no "do not disturb" sign - so each morning the housekeeper came into our room while we were still there, getting ready to go out for the day. Not ideal!

Cons: - Although the bedsheets were clean and fresh, the walls and the carpet did not have any stains and the bathroom and toilet were also clean, for a 4 star hotel and a room that costs 150 Euros per night (without including breakfast) we would expect everything to be spotless. Unfortunately there was a smell of damp all over the room and the closets really smelled. - When we used the shower there was a lot of dirt coming out of the bathtub drain. That was really not nice. - There were some small flies when we got into the room but ok this can happen..

Pros: We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights. Beds were comfortable and rooms were nice. Staff was courteous and responsive as they could be.
Cons: While the location was just steps away from the center of Lille, the street it is located on is night and day compared to the street over. Kids and other beggars confronted you as you entered and exited the hotel. It was located by a popular restaurant, that was open until the early hours of the morning, which makes it difficult when you have to sleep with the windows open. A/C did not cool rooms at all. When questioned staff, was told that it was normal. Mosquitoes were horrible. Worst two nights of sleep I have had on my trip in France thus far. Don’t book here in the summer unless you are used to sleeping in the heat! Would probably stay here again if it was cooler outside and AC wasn’t needed.

Cons: If you are driving, you must reserve valet parking or park blocks away at a ramp. Road construction (hopefully temporary) made all of the one-way streets to get near the hotel a major challenge. But worth the effort for sure.!

My daughter and I visited Lille, the neigbourhood was not that bad as we read in previous reviews (People which you will find near stations in the big cities) but also a lot of locals and tourists at the bars and restaurants. We felt save. The reception close at 22.00h. After this you have a code to enter the hotel. The hotel is just a 2/ 3 minute walk from the trainstation Lille Flandres. 6/8 minutes to a big shopping mall (Eurolille) and 10/ 12 minutes to trainstation Lille Europe, 10/ 12minutes to the main square (Grand place) But the center starts right at the station Lille Flandres. In the shopping mall Eurolille there is a supermarket Carrefour and in the station Lille Flandres you can find a supermarket of M&S. We did not have breakfast at the hotel because there were so many restaurants in the neigbourhood. Even at sundays when all the shops were closed. You will find a brasserie/ restaurant. We had a pleasant stay.

Cons: From the 2nd floor by elevator. You have to take the stairs, not a very steep stair but nice to know. After the 2nd night I found the matrass a little hard. Small bathroom but cute and modern.

Cons: Situated opposite a sex cruising shop which meant shady characters hanging about until the early hours of the morning who caused a nuisance and I felt unsafe. I therefore returned to my room very early which ruined my opportunity for sight seeing and eating out later. Room itself was dusty and smelt of cigarette smoke which brought on an asthma attack. Breakfast was also very limited. Bedding had also been slept in as it was stained and creased.

It is right near Lille Flanders local railway station, and Ypres is only an hour away by train. Would recommend for a one night stayover near the transport connections. Also near the main square full of bars, cafes, restaurants and global fast food chains. Staff were friendly and hotel was clean, although room a little on the small side, but excellent value for money.

Pros: Situated just off The Grand Place, so away from the bustle of the square. Historic building, with a modern interior. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The room overlooked a quiet tree lined square, so no noise at night. Plenty of tea coffee, and toiletries , topped up daily. The bed was lovely and comfy. Breakfast self service .

The lounge area is drab and depressing. This is a soulless hotel to which we will never return.

Cons: The rooms at the first floor are very old and urgently needs a makeover and a deep clean. There are large cracks in the room walls. Pictures do not match reality. We have been told that pictures on the website are not contractual and that only some rooms have been renovated. This hotel is very disappointing and with misleading pictures. There are many other alternatives for the same price.

Cons: First room they put me in was very basic. No soundproofing meant I heard all the noise from the street and from other rooms. I asked to move because of the house and they upgraded me. The 6th floor room was better appointed overall but still very basic. €12 for a continental breakfast felt a lot. No shower head and the hand held shower was fitted to the opposite side of the bath from the bath screen, which meant it was difficult to shower without also spraying water everywhere. Both rooms were too hot and stuffy. Would be small for two people but was okay for one.

Pros: The hotel is located in the heart of Lille - only a few minutes from the Grande Place. That is its only saving grace! There is nothing else TO like, unless of course you are a fan of 60s decor. It was dark and oppressive with dreadful bedding and an equally poor bed. The 'over the bath' shower and the general style of the facilities made the place look run-down and impoverished. For 136 Euros - $150 I stayed in a room at the intercontinental in Saigon two weeks ago. Air conditioned, walk-in shower, choice of pillows, 42" television with film channels, wonderful breakfast etc. The room I had here, I would have 'valued' at $40 - MAXIMUM. It made me so sad, because I couldn't help but think of all those international travellers who come to france expecting a wonderful experience - something stylish and truly 'French' - and are then offered such a room. Dark, dingy, no air-con, stuffy, old style, a 14"TV perched on top of a cupboard... Frankly, the Hotel, Lille and France ought to feel ashamed. Yes, it's the market price - supply and demand - caveat emptor etc etc - but honestly - my stay here was appalling. Even now, a day later, I can't get over what I paid for the room... Oh, and I haven't yet mentioned the party in the house behind the hotel which went on until 1:30 a.m. Honestly, if you can't find a cheap chain hotel (Premiere classe, Mr Bed etc) or a proper international hotel group for your stay in this city - I would avoid it until it joins the rest of the hotel world in the 21st century.

After a sleepless night,the hot (spotlights above tables), dark ,cramped,breakfast room was nauseating.

Cons: It was most expensive of my stays in Lille, unfortunatelly I didn't have other options at the moment of booking. Only cold simple breakfast was available. For high room price I was not able to get iron in the room, so I had to go into some meeting room on first floor to iron my shirt.

The area where the hotel is was not the nicest of areas and a very mixed group hanging around in the street and in front of the hotel. Parking was only available with luck on our side!!

Pros: Closeness to my place if work.

Pros: I was given a room on the floor I asked.
Cons: The value for money is ok just because it was in the city centre and very close to the train station. We came as a family. There was no kettle and mugs in the room which should be the minimum a customer should have. We left at 7am and could not even have a cup of tea or hot chocolate. I had to ask for wifi 3times in my stay because it disconnected automatically and the reception had to reset my password each time.

Pros: Clean linens,close to the city. Helpful staff and parking available at the cost advertised.
Cons: Very small didn't look like the advisement. Very noisy. Very small bathroom.

Cons: Could hear the floorboards from room above....if carpet was laid down that might help...

Cons: Staff were not helpful and unfriendly. Was charged the city tax that had already been charged in the reservation, and for a much higher amount.

Cons: Slight odour not inviting..no carpet so floorboards do creek a bit.

Pros: The location was ok . It was clean .
Cons: I didn't like having to PAY €16.50 for parking especially that I had received an email from booking.com stating that the hotel could provide this facility at NO EXTRA COST . I showed them the email but still had to pay . I emailed BOOKING.COM about the problem but as usual I WAS IGNORED . Now over a week later , I have had NO RESPONSE from BOOKING.COM and it's NOT THE FIRST TIME that BOOKING.COM has NOT REACTED when informed of a problem .

Pros: The hotel is perfect situated, to centre , and the flandres...etc. The staf, and the chief are all great person and 100% helpfull. The breakfast is delecious and really fresh and good quality. Many kind of cakes, bread, jams, joghurt,juice..So ifcyou want a perfect holiday,or business trip you must choose premiere classe centre lille!!!
