The Bradley - Cheltenham - Building
3
9.4 Excellent (572 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at The Bradley in Cheltenham, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Cheltenham Racecourse and Cheltenham Town Hall. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the Bradley, amazing room with the 4 poster bed, fabulous bathroom, comfy lounge, lovely touches throughout welcoming G&Ts. Wish we could of stayed longer.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendliness of staff, welcome drink, room with charming outside balcony.
Cons: Possible problem parking the car on our second day as all the hotel's allotted spaces taken for that night's guests. As it happened we were able to get an off street park place but otherwise it would have been very inconvenient. Very high first outside step - difficult as I have a slight disability. No light over mirror in bathroom. Kleenex would have been welcome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was upgraded as they had some last minute cancellations. Nice touches like welcome drink, free snacks and lounge area. Room and specifically the bathroom were stunning. I didn’t have time for breakfast so can’t comment on that’s.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcome drink was a pleasant surprise. Lots of thought has been given to try to give their guests a home-from-home experience - comfy lounge with free cupcakes and sweets, honesty bar etc. Excellent staff, especially Bea who went to the trouble of posting my jacket that I had accidentaly left behind.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Room very clean and comfortable, on nice garden courtyard. Many snacks and little extras available. Good staff, if not always easy to locate. The best and surprising service was that the hotel did our laundry without charge--wash, dry, fold--returning it promptly and nicely done. Though the hotel starts breakfast rather late--8:30 am, unlike most who start at 7:30--they did serve it 15 minutes earlier for us so that we could make our train.
Cons: Just a fluke: as we went to breakfast, we found that the door out of our courtyard to the dining room was double-locked in a way that the key we were given did not work, and no staff responded to our knocking. Luckily, there was a back garden gate to the street behind the hotel, so we walked out and around the long block to the front entrance. Not a serious problem.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The cooked breakfast was adequate. The toast looked like it was toast that had been uneaten by other diners. It was hard, cold, and inedible. Disgusting.
Cons: We were staying in Room No 2.  I just wanted to say how utterly disappointed and upset I am with the room we were given despite being a repeat customer and booking months ago.  The room is totally not a five star hotel room, it’s tiny, shabby, cramped and lacks any style whatsoever.  Terribly disappointed in how The Bradley have treated us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous little details, little extras, comfy beds
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous boutique hotel, felt as though I was staying in someones home which was also a museum. Lovely little touches such as complimentary G&T on arrival, although tonic could have had a bit more fizz! Fantastic breakfast.
Cons: Nothing!

Cons: No complaints!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The suite was very spacious ,clean & comfortable with everything needed for a 2 day,or longer stay. The washer/dryer was a welcome addition.
Cons: The steps, & the corridor leading to the suite smelt a bit moldy.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the bathrooms were nice.
Cons: The access was quite complicated and too many stairs! It would be nice to have sachets of coffee as I had no idea how to work the Nespresso machine.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
Cons: More supportive seating. Handrail down steps to bathroom needed. Not enough crockery.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Well equipped, clean & spacious. Fantastic location for exploring the local area
Cons: The stairs up to the apartment were green and a little slippery in the rain. Would be better with a quick jet wash before the winter. There is a handrail but advise care on outside steps in wet weather. Also no microwave in the property.

Cons: Everything was great
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent on everything
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is excellent espacally the porridge.
Cons: The stairs are small.
7.5 Good
Pros: The rooms are comfy.
Cons: Having previously stayed at the Beaumont House Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it, we were very dissappointed to find that the breakfast was served from a warmer. The breakfast tables were only set with basic cup and saucer with partons having to get their own cutlery from the dresser! The hotel is not cheap but is priced to expect a freshly cooked breakfast. If I wanted to have breakfast served from a warmer and not individually cooked I would stay at a chain hotel. An individual freshly cooked breakfast sets a hotel apart and I am afraid this cost cutting sets the Beaumont Hotel apart for the wrong reasons! I asked for a vegetarian breakfast which was forgotten about on the first morning but then it seemed that it was a unusual request as they had no mushrooms or tomatoes! There was no indication that you could order different eggs to the scrambled supplied in the warmer. I am sorry but unless the standard is raised for a boutique hotel I will not be booking there again!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Lovely friendly staff and good food on offer for both an evening meal and breakfast.
Cons: Noise from adjacent rooms was a little intrusive. We could hear other guests conversations, use of facilities etc quite clearly but not a huge issue for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. A fantastic stay in a lovely location and beautiful place. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation particularly if you require dog friendly services.
Cons: It was a perfect holiday. I would highly recommend this accommodation and location particularly if you need dog friendly facilities. Our only problem was paying as booking. Com had not updated our booking and payment as we had requested a dog friendly room. The staff were lovely and we managed to resolve the problem. But it did leave us and the staff a little embarrassed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing! I thought it was really good value for money and I would definitely stay again, and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in that area. I also hadn't been sure how easy it would be to get to my meeting in the morning which was in the centre around 6 miles away, but it only took 10 minutes as it is pretty much just down a couple of A roads.
Cons: If I had to give a bit of constructive feedback I would say there wasn't many TV channels only the different BBC one's. As I was staying one night before a business meeting and didn't have any plans in the evening, I would have like to be able to watch a bit of TV. I would have also like a dressing gown and some slippers, but that's probably just a personal preference.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice cozy and very quiet place, very clean and friendly stuff ! 100% recommended
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very cosy and comfortable with a great shower. The old traditional style pub was great with big open fires and really emphasised the warm welcoming atmosphere. The food we had for dinner and then the next mornings breakfast was plentiful and and very tasty.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect place to enjoy the Literature Festival!
Cons: Nothing
6.7 Good
Pros: Loved the lounge, breakfast and the staff were excellent.
Cons: I had a room on the front and it was very noisy, lots of ambulance sirens through the night. Curtains in the room didn’t close fully so wasn’t dark and they were filthy. There was no food on offer either room service or restaurant as it is shut on Sunday and Monday, would have been good to know this at time of booking. Couldn’t park onsite as only 5 spaces so had to drop kids off and go and find a spot on side roads, raining hard, again would have been good to know.
7.5 Good
Pros: Bathroom, location, over all comforts and the room
Cons: The sound proofing or lack of it !
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very polite and helped when ever asked. The location was a small walk into the centre. They have some lovely sister companies that they booked a table for us that we visited on the way back.
Cons: Missing towels when we arrived, but quickly corrected. Also a few cob webs in the room that my wife made me get.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The personal touches...…..the plant, chocolates, biscuits, gin and hand written welcoming note. We had a wonderful dinner and a lovely breakfast. We enjoyed a walk in the grounds that lead to the church next door and the beautiful village.
Cons: Our dinner side orders were missed. We did point this out at the time and the waiter who took our order in the lounge came to our table to apologise. A cheese course was offered as compensation which was much appreciated and much enjoyed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location in the centre of the Cotswolds, the staff were all very friendly, excellent wine list, the bed was really, really comfortable. They set a high standard, but you only need to check the other hotels that they own to know they are in good company.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perhaps this facility is a bit higher than others in the area but, it is worth every penny. I enjoy luxury and I was not in any way disappointed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A near perfect stay in an amazing location. It would be hard to improve on anything.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location in the rural Cotswolds. Very friendly staff, looked after our bicycles. Good selection of options at breakfast. Delicious tasting menu at dinner.
Cons: Seperate hot and cold taps in the washbasin - I know this may be traditional but it is inconvenient and unnecessary in the 21st century. Lots of noise from the room above, every step and word seemed to be audible to us.
7.1 Good
Pros: Comfy bed, delicious meals in the evening
Cons: We were upgraded which was a very kind gesture, however I couldn’t help but notice the very dirty carpets in our room. We travelled with our pet for which we were charged an additional £30/night which I would completely get as they have to clean the carpets and furniture afterwards, but those carpets looked like they’d never been cleaned. They really let the whole room down. The bathroom had black mould around the grouting and there was little to no WiFi coverage- I couldn’t justify the room cost for what was on offer
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A little piece of English Heaven! Lovely, comfortable hotel in a very picturesque setting. Food and wine was excellent. Staff very helpful. Couldn't have asked for anything better.
7.9 Good
Pros: Delicious food, excellent service and British manor style decoration with an exquisite garden.
Cons: The room has some smell。
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good with a wide variety of choices. As, I might say, were the evening meals and room service. All staff members were very polite and helpful. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location, surrounded by a well maintained relaxing and interesting garden. We particularly enjoyed the herb garden. The local area offers pleasant country walks, which we enjoyed.
Cons: There was nothing that either myself or my wife disliked.

Cons: to be able to stay longer....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness of owners who allowed us to use their sitting room/facilities as we were a group of friends getting together for a funeral, returned at 9.30 pm sitting up until gone midnight chatting. The gorgeous flapjacks in the room were a lovely touch. Breakfast was first rate and Rosemary went to particular trouble to ensure I had gluten free ingredients. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Pros: It's friendly management staff and it's proximity to the home of relations.
Cons: The electric shower didn't produce hot water until the management fiddled with it until it worked. The following morning it happened again. Traffic noise early on Monday morning (we were on London Road near Cheltenham City centre). It was a surprise after the relatively quiet Sunday morning.

Pros: Sherbourne Suite - room with King size bed (our first in UK on this trip!) plus fireplace & en suite bathroom with shower. Gorgeous area so it is hard to know what would be a better location as we had our own wheels to visit other picturesque towns. The Lamb served a very good pub dinner plus a copious breakfast (if you wanted it).

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Covered all bases with us and a special thanks to the staff.
Cons: Floors creaking but to be expected in an old property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Lovely room. Great staff and breakfast. I found this a very relaxing place to stay. The room was spacious and the lighting was excellent. I so often find the lighting in hotel rooms a problem. Also, my other bug bear is a lack of well lit mirrors, but here again this was not a problem. So, for me, this was just the perfect room. ❤️❤️Very highly recommended!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good and cooked to order. The rooms and the common areas were clean and tidy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was very good. We will be back again.
Cons: Price wise not competitive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location; great staff; awesome breakfast
Cons: The beds need replacing. Still comfortable but a little lumpy
7.1 Good
Pros: The location was very good for walking into the town centre. The room was spacious and clean, but we felt it needed an overall, perhaps brightening up and new furnishings to make it more up-to-date. The staff on the whole were very good, especially the male member of the waiting on staff who served us breakfast on our first morning. So polite and nothing was too much trouble. There was a good choice of drinks in the 'Honesty Bar'.
Cons: The breakfast on our second morning was again excellent but it was let down by the lack of service. We were shown to our table and we ordered our drinks and toast, with who we were later told was the female owner. However after sometime we were still waiting. We managed to get the attention of a female member of the waiting on staff, who brought our tea and toast but did not ask what else we would like further. Again after another long wait we managed to get her attention to ask if we could order the rest of our breakfast, quite politely, I might add. She seemed a little put out that we had had to ask her again to be served, but after sometime the breakfast arrived. It may have been a case of forgetfulness, but we do not think this should have happened, as it marred the breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, warm welcome, comfortable beds, spotless, delicious breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Cons: Maybe extending breakfast time to 9:30/10am.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, very helpful staff, use of bikes to explore Cheltenham was a real bonus.
Cons: The panel in the bathroom was in a very poor state.

Cons: Overpriced, charge separately for using the Spa facilities, if you don’t choose the main menu you have to eat in the lounge.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely food / very welcoming staff
4.6 Okay
Pros: It is in a beautiful setting
Cons: During a over night stay I must of heard the response “I’ll have to ask someone” over 20 times. Regarding the most simple of issues. It seemed like every member of staff was on a different hymn sheet
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptional! They made such a fuss of my Grandparents and made their stay [& mine] so special. From the tea upon arrival to the easy & pleasant departure, everything was utterly perfect.
Cons: Cheltenham is close in the car, but there's not much within walking distance, so a car is a prerequisite to staying here really.
6.3 Good
Cons: Not overly impressed with the menu, food was ok but not as good as some other reviews suggest. Also, charging an extra 25pp to use the pool and steam room is a bit steep in a spa hotel.

Cons: There is no parking as such but if you give the B&B your license plate then they arrange parking on the council website for you. There is a charge of £3.00 a day and I cannot remember that this information was given on the booking.com website. Parking is then in one of the side streets.

Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Colesbourne Inn is a historic property that has been fully modernized. The lodging is in a building adjacent to the pub, which is corporately owned by an English brewery. Everything was clean, neat and efficient. The room and bath in particular were excellent. The Inn is on an A road just outside of Cirencester, and just minutes away from Cowley Manor, where we went for a splendid afternoon tea and walk around the gardens.
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: The room was both beautiful and very comfortable. The breakfast was really delicious.
Cons: I was given misleading information on arrival about the local taxi firms. At 8am on the morning of my departure I asked a member of staff to ring me a taxi and was told "you'll be lucky at this hour; you should've booked it last night", as if it was my fault. In the event he did manage to get me a car and I caught my train with two or three minutes to spare. It could have ruined my day, though.

6.7 Good
Pros: Restaurant was great. Good food and attentive staff
Cons: The walls were really thin and our room was over the restaurant so you could hear people talking and laugh
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Building, decor, outdoor space and general feel of the place was really thoughtful. The staff were so attentive and couldn’t help enough. Our dog was very welcome too!
Cons: Loved it all!
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is really nice, very well decorated, it is cosy and warm. I think it is a nice location for events as it provides a lot of space. The room was big for us but they don’t provide baby cot (important information for family!). As a family, again, we liked the fact that the pub, the restaurant and the room are in the same location. The staff was nice.
Cons: The food: we had diner and breakfast and we didn’t find a good level of products. we came as a family with a baby, a junior kid and suitcases and we didn’t get the help from the receptionist - just to help us carrying our suitcase to the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: food was amazing, love the setting for the hotel, staff couldn't do enough for you and the rooms were amazing.
Cons: nothing, the whole stay was amazing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with wonderful relaxing atmosphere
Cons: Nothing to report

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything you need is provided. Great location. Quirky and fun. Great fun and good food.
Cons: Only a few little things. Would prefer a mixer tap in the bathroom. Nowhere to put toiletries.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The 8 rooms are situated at the rear of the property surrounding a courtyard. This was useful as my friend finds walking difficult. The rooms are en suite and had television and tea /coffee facilities available. The menu looked good and if we had not had lunch the pies looked very special.
Cons: Although the breakfast was good I would have liked some more bread/toast and more butter.
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff were lovely and the food was good. Location handy for exploring The Forest of Dean. The bed was very comfy and large. I liked the layout of the inn, the dining rooms and the bedrooms tucked away at the back.
Cons: On one evening we ordered the sandwiches/baguettes but the waitress came back from the kitchens saying although it was not stated on the menu, these were only available up to 5.oo pm. We chose the ploughman's sharer instead and she offered us ham in addition, a nice gesture, except we were charged for it. The only dislike was the state of the bathroom floor. On arrival there was a couple of small twigs on it and a couple of large black hairs on the shower itself. I appreciate the bedrooms are on the ground floor so bits get blown in, but during our 5 day stay the room and door mat were not vacuumed and wiping up some dropped cream on the bath floor on the fourth day the floor was filthy.
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely room - friendly staff - really good breakfast
