Fireplace in the lobby. Decor in rooms and lobby! Location was fab! Close to everything, but set off main road so it was nice and quiet! Would have liked a bath tub in our room and free breakfast like a lot of the other hotels in the area offered!
Location, rooms, coffee station, comfy robes Towels a little rough
Location,everything.. The price
Every thing was perfect!!!
Great location for a romantic getaway Excellent restaurant next door and you can walk to all the little shops.
the hotel was close to everything. there was nothing to dislike.
Cleanliness, comfy robes, staff, free wifi, coffee, tea, water in Mezzanine $5 for bottled water in room (declined), tv remote was very cumbersome to use, could not change channels other than to go up or down, making it a slow and tedious process to get from basic channels to movie channels, signal kept going out and in, wifi signal kept dropping
We love this place!!!!!!! Couldn't complaint a bit.
Our room was great!! Clean and the bed was super comfortable!!
The pretty inn is quite convenient to the numerous restaurants and shops in quaint Solvang. It was quiet at night and very safe even when walking back to the inn after dining out. The furnishings are modern. The rooms didn't have any convenient plugs for computers and phones, and not enough wall plugs. The pillows were not comfortable at all. And we were very unhappy over the fact our room didn't have a safe. Nor did the front desk have safes large enough to hold or computers and other valuables--that's the first time I've ever seen a hotel without proper safes.
Clean, nice pool area, nice rooms. Coffee and tea in the lobby. Very thin walls and ceilings. I could hear everything going on upstairs and on both sides of my room.
My sister and I had to carry our suitcases to the third floor with no elevator
location of the hotel. We stayed over 4th of July weekend and they did not require a 3 night stay. We stayed 2 nights. Staff was very good; place is very clean. You can hear people in the room next door.
nice hotel, clean, well equipped and decorated. walls are a bit flimsy
The manager Sharon was upset that she didn't have two rooms with two double beds each for our family of four. So she gave us one room with two double beds and two rooms with single double beds for no additional charge. That's service. The breakfast was kind of unhealthy. Buttery eggs, fatty sausage, sugary yogurt, white bread, the typical unhealthy American breakfast. I wish there were oatmeal and fresh fruits as a choice.
The staff was friendly and helpful, but... The clogged toilet and missing electrical outlet cover were just a few of the signs this place is in need of a complete overhaul. The dingy carpets and mismatched furniture further hammer home this point.
Convenient location. Beautiful gardens and lots of outdoor seating space. Accommodate pets. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with fresh Danish plus a full breakfast. Bathroom was very clean and maid service was daily. Linens were nicer than standard. Room exceptionally small by today's standards. Carpet was dirty and looked gross.
Complimentary breakfast - nice shower Public restroom off lobby was not cleaned the day before (8/16) so when I went to use it the morning of 8/17 there was no toilet paper. Also, putting a couple with a dog on the 3rd floor (knowing we would have to go out more often for potty times) was not very thoughtful. It would be very helpful to have signs directing people to rooms on the 3rd floor. Most people wandered around carrying heavy luggage trying to find what staircase to go up.
Staff was very courteous, rooms were cute and a bit of old world mixed with modern. Will definitely visit again!
Such a pretty Innl! Super friendly staff and comfortable room! Perfect for a nice relaxing weekend away. There wasn't anything I didn't enjoy with this Inn.
It was a pleasurable experience. Our room was not cleaned on the last day before we left. We had put a do not distrub sign on only till noon as we were getting ready for our son's wedding. We were gone from noon till midnite and at no time did our room get touched or clean towels. The rest of the time was fine and we enjoyed our stay.
Size of room Sewer smell at times from basin in bathroom Service could have been better like having more than one roll of toilet paper in the room although one brought up half hour after request made. Only 2 cups and 2 glasses in room although room had 4 beds
Nice hotel in a very nice city.
Pleasant and comfortable room Furniture needs updating also needs refridgerator in room
Lovely rooms, really well appointed & decorated. Would be perfect if it had a pool. The included breakfast was really limited - just cereal and some pastries. Ordering breakfast from the paying menu took a really long time. Despite not being full it took 40 minutes for our food to come.
Love the modern but still quaint vibe of the Landsby. I will admit, I am a hotel cleanliness snob, I hate most hotels. However I felt right at home here and everything was clean and comfy. I came with my husband and 2 year old and although he came in like a wrecking ball, the staff was so welcoming and definitely didn't make us feel awkward for his nutty behavior. I cannot wait to return... Especially for a girls trip! Well done LandsbyI I wish early we could check in earlier. With check out being at noon, it doesn't allow for early check in really... But then I guess you could argue that you have more time the next day.
The decor and boutique style hotel is what drew me in originally and it did not dissapoint. The location was centrally located and walking distance to just about everything in town.
great value for the money excellent staff very friendly and helpful
Wonderful inn with stylish Scandinavian decor. Loved the room and the restaurant had great food and service. Didn't have room service
Perfect location, worth every penny!
The location was fine, near my mother whom we were visiting. The staff was fine and cleaned the room nicely. There was no bureau to store your clothing in. The club chair was ripped with holes and very worn as well as the love seat which you could not sit in without sinking to the floor. But worst was the carpet, filthy and stains. I will not stay there again. I spoke to woman at the desk about our room, wrote them a letter but received no reply. I will post my complaint on Facebook and told them that but apparently they do not care.
Cute little hotel right in the middle of town. Close proximity to shops, restaurants and entertainment. Little on the older side but I heard they're in the process of renovating!
Very nice hotel No pool
24 hour ice service was nice as well as the early morning coffee. The location is perfect for walking around the village. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were dated with very ugly wallpaper. The rooms and decor could use some freshening up
Clean, quiet, and close to the center of town Better blinds in the room
Was within walking distance to all the cute stores in SOlvang, and Loved the Beds especially comfortable will be staying there again and again.. Liked it so much that we stayed again on the way back to Northern Ca. They need to open the coffee in the lobby at least by 6AM would be nice..
Clean and comfy Walls were kinda thin...could hear the people next door when they laughed and talked one night
Location is close to downtown. Decent breakfast. Hot shower and comfortable bed. Microwave, refrigerator and coffee make was very useful. Every once in a while the TV volume would mute by itself.
It was on the outskirts of town so it was easy to get to the freeway and still be able to walk about the town. That my in room coffee was not refilled.
Staff, comfort, access to town.
We were most impressed with its close proximity to downtown Solvang. Nice place. N/A
I liked the decor and cleanliness. The rooms were generous in size, and the 2nd floor has vaulted ceilings along with balconies. The bathroom was beautifully remodeled as well as very clean and had a jetted tub. I'm not sure if all the rooms have the jetted tub, but I loved having it. I didn't need to go visit the jacuzzi tub in the courtyard. I also loved that it had a refrigerator and a microwave in the room. I would not have liked the 1st floor rooms, as the sliding doors all faced the pool courtyard area which was caged in. I didn't like that my upstairs balcony was open to my neighbors balcony, however, with the downstairs rooms the sliding doors are visible/accessible to everyone walking by, so mine wasn't too bad. I also didn't care for the caged in pool which was caged separetaly from the jacuzzi. It was very uninviting, especially the jacuzzi. I'm sure they had to do that for liability reasons, to keep the kids from going in without adult permission, but usually I enjoy sitting by a pool or hanging in the jacuzzi, but I had no desire at this location.
some rooms are a little close to the road.
Room was overall pretty nice with jacuzzi tub. A bit close to traffic although not unduly noisy. slightly out of center area of the town. Bed was a bit too soft for my liking
The location...the layout of the hotel. Freezing pool when you advertize that it is a heated pool and I asked two people who work there if the pool was heated and they said yes...but it was not. Then when I asked if a heater could be used because we had a group of 21 people there....the front desk said he didn't know how to do that...only a maintenance worker and there was no one around!!
Great Value. Location is ideal walking distance to downtown Solvang.
Comfy beds, nice big bathrooms, great location! Staff was genuinely pleasant and very helpful. Not a thing!
Price was right for the amenities offered. The wifi could have been more reliable. It was either not available at all or slower than dial-up 25 years ago. In this day and age, nobody can afford to go on vacation without being at least somewhat connected.
simple easy no problems
the room was very clean. the price was very reasonable. the room had a microwave and small refrigerator that added to its convenience. there were obviously former leaks in the ceiling and the room was very old. it could have used a face lift. the complimentary breakfast consisted of an apple, cereal, very limited pastries, and coffee. they could have expanded it a little bit. no toast, no banana, no waffle.the staff was not rude but cold and brickly.
Great value for a great stay. We came in late and they had made special arrangements for us. Free breakfast and nice folks. They also let us park all day after our stay for sightseeing.
Large clean room. Yummy breakfast. Room had a funny smell.
It is centrally located in the downtown area. The staff are friendly and gave us all the good recommendations where to go shop, eat and local events. Needs some updating in the interior designing with those huge furniture occupied most the tiny space. The bathroom sink have that foul smell when you turn the faucets. There is no security cameras especially when you are close to a public parking lot.
The staff and service were wonderful. The location was the best!
Clean. Rooms appeared to be newly renovated. Good service. Very easy to check in and out. Requested a pack n play for toddler at check in and it was waiting art the room by the time we got there. Several amenities within walking distance. Outside is dated. It's a motel, so rooms go right to outside. Not a problem though. Was still quiet and can't beat the price for the area.
Close to everything, staff great, room clean and spacious, quiet, great for the price.
The bed was very hard
Clean room, good size. Very good staff. The place could use some freshening and breakfast is just Danish
Clean big room. Soft towels. Breakfast pretty limited, but lots of nearby options
The rooms were clean and new.. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.. Comfortable and great location to their world famous Pea Soup! See you next time Ian lreland CEO : Sola Design All was up to par and no complaints !
The room was large, clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was good. We decided to stay at Pea Soup Andersen's Inn because it was located 10 minutes from Solvang and 3O minutes from Santa Barbara. We saved lots of money staying at the Inn at Buelton. We were pleasantly surprised how nice our stay was at the Inn. We slept well. We liked having a frig, microwave and free WiFi and continental breakfast. Families will like the pool, putting green and bocce ball court. We will return with a group next time.
Cozy accommodations, friendly staff, great location N/A
I liked that the room was on the ground floor. It has back glass door that will lead to a mini putt. I love that is near Solvang, just a short drive. Had a microwave and a refrigerator. Lots of room to move around. The bathroom door was like a folding door, was very hard to lock the door. Room smelled funny..like a spray for the bathroom.
Very clean. Better rooms than expected. Professionally managed. Common facilities maintained very well -- especially the swimming pool.
Decent facility : clean, comfortable, convenient location. But, where's the Pea Soup??? Grossly inadequate breakfast :-((( I would have give it a thumb's up, if they just improve the breakfast to the level of The Best Western!!!
Very good place.... Very well taken care of property.
Overall, our stay was comfortable. Free breakfast was provided and the staff was pleasant.
The bathroom was dirty. Hair on the floor and was very dark looking.
The facilities were well maintained. Rooms were good size and clean. Noise from the road was excessive in the early morning hours. The desk clerk was supposed to call when our room was ready, but we never got the call. Also didn't seem to know that we had paid for our room in advance.
The bed was very comfortable and the staff is great. The hotel was great, but the town wasn't what I expected. This is a great place to go if you just want to go wine tasting, but there isn't anything to do after 9:00 pm except go to the casino.
Great amenities and loved the complimentary perks!
Have been here many times. Clean, quiet, comfortable . . . centrally located to many restaurants, shops, main shopping district, central square, the Elverhoj Museum and Mission Santa Innes. Great place for the cost and suitable for single people, couples or families. Don't forget the pool (great in summer) and the jacuzzi/hot tub (better in winter!!).
Nice hotel, right on the same street as most of the shops and restuarants. Friendly staff, very accomodating. Bed was very comfy and the room was clean and well maintained. Toilet is a little on the small and low side, but overall, everythign else was great!
We stayed here because of its close proximity to the winery's in Solvang, and the cute town of Buellton. The hotel was clean, basic, and semi-comfortable bed. Water pressured the shower was good, and no shortage of hot water. Though the room was called a "queen", the bed was full sized. This hotel is like a Motel 6, just enough. We brought a portable did player to plug into the TV HDMI, but that was disabled on the set. They want you to buy their movies. Parking was okay, when the small lot was full, there was close street parking. Overall, you get what you paid for, as this was one of the most affordable places to stay in the tourist town. The continental breakfast had good coffee, and a bunch of carbs. No cereal or fruit.
Convenient walk to all. Room needs updating, TV screen too small, and staff not so friendly.
Staff was friendly upon arrival and check-out. We stayed in a nice studio room with a small kitchen, living room and dinning area. The room looked cleaned. Bed was comfy. Location was good too. The people staying next door to us got very loud late at night, which is a risk you take at any place either way. They seemed to be from a Bachelorette party, so that explains their wildness -_-
Su limpieza y excelente ubicación La atención terrible, poco amigable.
Excellent customer service, very attentive staff. Plus free drinks in the lobby! Limited parking.
Very clean , surrounded by all the boutiques, places to eat, can walk around everything is local. Very beautiful place to visit.
The location was great! Accommodations were just ok but the location made up for it. Rooms and surroundings definitely need an update. Overpriced it luckily, once again the location somewhat made up for it.
This is the second time we have stayed here. We love the friendly staff, good breakfast and comfy accommodations. It's a great place to stay for a laid back weekend of shopping and wine tasting. We were in a group and they placed us all close together near an outdoor patio where we could all meet before heading out for the day or evening. We love it here and will definitely be back.
The interior is superb, very clean and nicely decorated. A+ overall above and beyond all other nearby hotels. The best food in town! The entire staff, everyone was helpful and genuinely nice.
The rooms were impeccable and beautifully decorated with a bit of European flair.
I would stay here again it was perfect for kids too. The breakfast was not hot, the warmers used did not keep the food warm.
The complimentary breakfast from 7 to 10 every morning was excellent and definitely not the usual free hotel breakfast. The food was as good or better than one could expect from a restaurant. The coffee was good, the OJ fresh squeezed, real eggs, fresh fruit, thick bacon, etc. No hot tub, I was in the area for the wine country half marathon and often come for the Solvang Century. A hot tub after a sporting event would be good.
The proximity to the town of Solvang and a grocery store. Great view
Proximity to St. Ynez valley and great wineries. Good attempt to make the room look nice
Beautiful decor; very comfortable bed (best pillows I have ever had in a hotel)
The location was on the edge of town and within walking distance of most shops. It was quiet and the on-site restaurant was good. Also, the spa offered discounts to those who stayed in the inn.
EXCELLENT RESTAURANT, GREAT STAFF, REALLY NICE BREAKFAST, ROOM DECORATED NICELY ELECTRIC FIREPLACE STOPPED WORKING BUT THEY WERE VERY APOLOGETIC AND REDUCED OUR FEE.
Their web-site was different from the actual property. It's nice and clean, but the staff wasn't trained well.
nice breakfast, dinner menu looked good but we did not have a chance to eat there. convenient location to walk around town and close to Santa Inez & Los Olivos wine tasting carpets need cleaning, white duvet cover had some stains so needs to be replaced. Outdoor carpet on walkway to rooms is worn.
We had a wonderful experience. It is easy to drive by Los Alamos without realizing all that this sleeply community can offer. The exterior of the mansion can mislead you to believe that you are entering your great grandmothers home with white linen & lace about the entire establishment. This could not be further from the truth. The interior of the mansion has hidden away six fantasy rooms for adults & children to play. We stayed in the Gypsy Room, Jacamo & his wife Dolcynia sleeping in a cart in the wilderness. Equally as inpressive was the Priate Room where you were teleported into a seen from Priates of the Carribbean or Horatio Hornblower. Each room was more impressive than the next. Diane, the manager, was as accomodating as can be. Next time we are in the neighborhood, we'll make sure we simply don't drive by hidden treasure.
We were the first group to 'take-over' the hotel since it re-opened under new ownership. We stayed there 15 years ago- it's WAY better now. Each room has been redone top notch. The beds are VERY comfortable and the rooms extremely clean. Rob (new owner) was accomadating and freindly and let us enjoy ourselves fully throughtout the mansion. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a group getaway, that way you can enjoy all of the rooms. We stayed in the 50's room. The Cadillac bed is sooooo soft, we kicked back and watched a movie on the projecter screen with old drive-in speakers and all. Brings back fond memories of the old drive-in days. Very cool!!
The owner was wonderful. Our only disappointment was were thought we booked the French room but we didn't and were put in the 50's room. It was still wonderful, and as I said, the owner was wonderful. The 50's room was fantastic, however, it has a very small bathroom. I am 5'-11' and I had to stoop. The shower was also very small.
Learning about the history of the hotel and getting a tour of most of the other rooms. Very limited number of restaurants available in the vicinity.
My wife and I lived in San Luis Obispo for several years and made frequent trips down to San Diego to visit family, so we ended up driving past Los Alamos countless times. Never did I expect to find such a charming place just off the 101. The Victorian Mansion exceeded all expectations. We stayed in the 50's room, but got to see some of the other rooms, too. Each one s lovingly and meticulously crafted to transport you someplace else. The manager was so incredibly kind and helpful, and pointed us in the direction of one of the best restaurants we've ever been to. All in all, this was an amazing experience. Absolutely well-worth the cost. We're actually planning on making this an annual destination.
Rod, the new owner of this unbelievable victorian mansion, has spared no expense in ensuring that your stay here will be a memorable one. The rooms are so unique. Impeccable attention to detail fun but not corny each room is a delight complete with sound effects and custom themed beds and very deep jacuzzis. You can actually sleep in a 1950's Cadillac car while watching a drive in movie in your room! Disneyland on steroids! It is a very romantic setting too. Do not miss this fun opportunity, a must stay at.
Wow! A beautiful room with lots of character. Including a couple of cute little covey hole closets about 8 ft. long made into small children's sleeping areas. The owner and his wife are very nice and very accommodating. This place was much nicer than the pictures do justice. And for the space and comfort we received you'd most likely pay double at the surrounding Big Box Hotel. Like a 4 star hotel suite for half the price and much more relaxing. If anything, the Bathroom could use some higher quality toiletries. But otherwise a perfect stay
Great location, near the best parts of Solvang, but a little quieter. It was obviously once a cheaper hotel, but has been extremely well renovated, and is now super nice. My only complaint was a stained towel, barely worth mentioning.
Was within walking distance to shops and restaurants. No towels in the room when we arrived. The air conditioning had a mind of it's own at times and wouldn't work. Expected more for the price of the room but I'm sure it was a case of supply and demand
We enjoyed the overall charm of the room and the gardens. Very nice. Loved the gas fireplace. The only bad thing was the location. Just a bit too far from the central hub for walking in the winter cold weather.
Room was large and attractive The so called free breakfast was disappointing. Only cold cereal and Danishes. They ran out of food and drinks before time to stop serving.
The grounds are lush and comfortable. The room was more like a classy apartment than a motel room. Class everywhere. Enjoyed it all.
It was unique and charming Small Room but still fine
Had a great cottage Solvang feel to it making the trip and experience even better! No. I would stay again.
Quaint clean little motor court kinda place. Felt like a throwback to the 60's
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
The location was perfect. Not too far away but not in the center of town. The tile floor is not an inviting quality of a hotel room. The whole room needed to have the walls cleaned. They were very dirty.

Absolutely wonderful. If not the best hotel that we have stayed in, a very close second! We were so amazed & pleased with the room & staff; that we are still talking about today! We will definitely stay there again when we stay overhight in Solvang! Not a thing!
Spacious room, good location Molds all over that caused bad allergy to my husband.
Room was outdated and they sprayed way too much air freshener after cleaning.
Awesome value! Large, clean, no-nonsense room with two queens. Came to Solvang for the ambience of the village, rather than the ambience of the hotel. So, we were seeking comfortable sleeping accommodations for two adults and two teens at the best price. RCI delivered. The complementary breakfast buffet was the icing on the cake. Attentive staff and unbeatable location.
Room, location, breakfast. Wifi
It is very close to Solvang. The inn was clean and the staff was friendly. The free breakfast was nice and provided cold items (yogurt, breads, cereal, milk, juices, fruits, etc.) and hot items (pancakes, oatmeal, waffles, eggs, potatoes, sausages, etc.). The only complaint was that when walking through the hallway, you can hear occasional snoring/loud talking. From what I noticed, you can't hear those noises from inside the room.
Clean and convene the location
Newer bathroom, clean room, nice location close to everything in Los Olivos and Solvang. Free breakfast, with bacon, egg, potatoes, pancake, and waffles. Don't have expectations of a 5 star hotel and you won't be disappointed. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Everything was as expected. No disappointments.
Loved the breakfast! Some of the rooms are right next to the freeway and a little noisy.
Tub was leaking
Had a good breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable Rented two rooms. The clock did not work in one of the rooms. The rooms were evidently right below the breakfast room, and workers were moving furniture or something back and forth all night long, keeping us awake.
We had 2 couples sharing a room, and reserved a room for 4 adults, with 2 beds, and early checkin. We got to town at 10, to find out our room was not abailable till 3 PM. We also Got a room with 1 king bed, and we're given 1 twin cot to suffice. We were given a restraint credit, but that's like saying "here, pretend I gave you something, but just give it back to me." We won't be stayin here again.
The pool was closed and we wanted a pool for the kids. We didn't know when we booked.
