Clean tidy smart rooms. The Lodge rooms are not value for money for what they. The bar prices are very expensive.
The reception manager was absolutely superb.
The location was good, security was good, car parking was good. Comfortable, good spa - good facilities. Nice hotel with lots of relax areas to sit. Rooms well equipped - would stay here again if business or leisure takes me to this part of the country again. Only niggle was that room service for evening meal did not start until 7pm Room service times and choices.
Friendly, efficient staff. Reception staff recognised me from my previous visit.
Relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and happy to help. Swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi was spot on. confusing to find as you enter through what looks like gates to an industrial estate, until you buzz in and get a grumpy security guard.
It was close to where I had a business appointment. The prices of beer at the bar are excessive.
Easy booking, efficient service, well-appointed room, good food, easy access to the university, great value for money. It would be helpful to supply face flannels; lack of a proper shower cubicle or glass/perspex shower section that keeps the floor dry; breakfast finishes perhaps an hour too early on weekends.
Hotel and staff very welcoming
Pleasant staff good food and ease of service no
Excellent value and the room was lovely. The staff were very helpful and the location was excellent. Breakfast was delicious. It was also very quiet and I had a lovely nights rest. I did struggle a bit with the shower rose as it seemed a bit heavy. I got there in the end
The hotel is bright, modern and cheerful and is within easy reach of university and town
very poor quality service.food. bedroom not clean after complaints was not attended to.newspaper not delivered or available in reception
Friendliness of the staff, The volume of noise from other rooms and the corridors.
Cleanliness, location and the room decor were all perfect. Friendly and helpful staff. Great value for money. The tv didn't work in our room so we had to move-not a problem but could of been tested previously.
The room was very old and had no toilet paper, broken shower curtain and generally very run down. Breakfast was a shambles as they ran out of some items of food and long delays happened because of large numbers of people trying to eat at the same time.
The location for donington park, some of the staff, the leisure facilities. The food in the restaurant was horrific
The location was very convenient. It would have been appreciated if some effort had been made to clear the entrance / carpark of snow - however it was a particularly bad snap of weather. Worst aspect was the room heating - the automatic thermostat was not working - not discovered on my first night. I was very cold. Switched to manual it was OK. Staff should have checked it as they showed me the room - with my poor eyesight the instructions on controls were unreadable.
The hotel was brand spanking new and clean with refreshig decor'. The water was turned off when we arrived, my husband had a cold shower! The tv did not work during our stay. Staff were sympathetic and offered to move us.
Locality - close to University
Confortable bedroom, freindly staff and very good breakfast A tad noisy at night due to rock music being played. Not sure whether this was from within the hotel or a neighboring property
Proximity to town. Cooked breakfast.
The staff on reception were extremely helpful. Breakfast in the Queens Room was chaotic as there did not seem to be sufficient tables to accomodate everyone.
Was near the University and in the center of town, with free parking. As other people had mentioned, its a bit scruffy here and there, especially in some of the corridors.
Polite staff, simple clean room, good breakfast selection
Clean room, nice breakfast, central location, comfortable bed Paid for room a fortnight in advance on maestro debit card, on booking in requested another card other than a maestro which we didnt have, offered cash deposit which again couldnt be accepted. Resulted in a very unconfortable and embarassing situation, which we found totally unacceptable
Breakfast Badly maintained, undersized and scruffy room.
Good clean room with comfortable bed.
Very good breakfast. Staff very good Room very cold and very poor sound insulation
courtyard garden for evening bar snack
Room was good. General Manager very helpful. Lounge area was a little cold.
Fair sized room with a massive bed and nice bathroom. The cost of breakfast: the fact they advertised satellite but had none (boyfriend's birthday treat and he wanted to watch football!!)
The staff were very good and the food was well cooked. Also the room was a good size and well maintained. I would have liked a change to the menu each evening. Also the TV was a bit old and not all the chanels were received clearly.
inadequate ventilation in room and very hot overnight one room had window fixings missing anthe bath was in a poor atate
The serenity, the food, staff helpfulness and the location.
Nice location No hot water in the morning.
Staff always pleasant and helpful. Rooms far too warm and difficult to cool down. The on cost of breakfast is disgraceful and bar drinks far too expensive.
A brief overnight stay - rooms were clean and comfortable.
The hotel was lovely, very clean and the room was very clean and comfatable. The hairdryer kept cutting out. But I am sure it could have been fixed if I had reported it.
King Size Bed
Nice rooms, ours was facing the garden at the back. I like the quarkiness of the rooms. It was good to have a restaurant in the hotel and the food was good. The staff were friendly. Also, it is located in a nice village, 10 minutes drive from Loughborough, which is where we had to be one early morning. Not much comes to mind. A little gripe: we appreciated the Molton Brown toiletries, but only one little bottle of shower gel?
Staff fre wifi free water in room Electric heater worked intermittently and inspection overdue main light in bathroom not wotrkin carpet dirty footprints no napkins offered in the bar
Readiness of staff to meet our needs. Small bathrooms and noisy plumbing.
Friendly helpful staff, comfortable rooms, decent food, well situated for Loughborough First stay in bika was quite noisy, maybe due to proximity to bar. Would not book that again. Second night in louis was perfect. Would book again.
Great food and excellent service Room rather dusty
The room & the atmosphere No
The Hunting Lodge was comfortable and well situated for our purposes
Food very good and value for money, and served in very nice dining area. Staff very helpful and attentive. Great choice of real ale in the bar. Room comfortable and quiet. The room was very dark - (Fagin) - understandable as a result of the dark red colour scheme. However, couldn't even see into the wardrobe - needs far better lighting options - understand that other rooms don't have the same issue.
friendly and hospitable staff
Warm welcome. Spacious room. Dinner main meal very poor (both our meals). Based on other hotels I have stayed at, this is over-priced for what it is.
The staff were friendly and the lounge area was excellent
friendliness of staf, good location close to steam railway and trains pass very close
The room and surrounding area was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good and excellent speedy service. The staff were polite and helpful.
The staff were friendly and helpfull.
Hassle free check in. Good evening meal and comfortable room. Ideal for quick business trip.
Decent service and good quality food
Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff
The Breakfast tables had not been cleared after use by previous guests. Serving of breakfast was extremely slow. The previous evening we ordered draught drinks from the bar and were not convinced as to their taste, maybe the bar pump lines had not been cleaned properly. Generally, though reasonably clean, the hotel seemed a little shabby and in need of refurbishment.
The setting of the hotel, in beautiful grounds, inviting bar, the warm cosy bedroom, flat screen tv, tea & coffee making facilities, location in the city, breakfast. Sitting the restaurant alone, with no sign of staff,.i.e.waitress, when I needed another drink. Wake -up call missed,(forgotten, due to reception being too busy, when queried) this was important as I had a flight to catch. Hotel needed updating in places & wi-fi reception was almost non-existant (this was one of the main reasons I booked the hotel.)
Cleanliness of the bedroom and provision of sufficient tea/coffee sachets. The hotel environment felt safe which I believe is important - especially for a female guest. The option to eat evening meals in the restaurant was not obvious. Many guests were eating in the lounge area [as you enter the hotel] and it wasn't until I ordered my meal that it became evident that I could choose to eat in the restaurant surroundings.
It was a very plesant stay and enjoyed every minute of it. The service was excellent and would definatly consider going back again...
We were made very welcome on arrival and our host made us aware of a nearby pub she recommended we went to for dinner Lack of a bar
Pleasant country guesthouse; nice situation (very good sound insulation from adjacent road); friendly and attentive proprietors and staff.
Rooms very clean. Bed comfortable No bad points
All the staff were very welcoming. Our room was nicely decorated and spacious. Breakfast was enjoyable in a relaxing atmosphere
Comfortable bed with lovely clean smelling laundry. Excellent friendly service. Although we did not have an en-suite bathroom we had a sink n the room. Shower very weak.
The location is beautiful (even though foggy with the river level high). The dinner (including teh Cahteau Cissac 2000) was excellent. We appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the quietness of the location - surprisingly little noise from the airport.
Lovely position Staff very welcoming and coped well with different family members arriving at different times Check out lengthy due to staff sickness
Beautiful location, very helpful and friendly staff. Cottage room very comfortable and quiet. We stayed on a Saturday night and there was a wedding party who rather monopolised the outside bar seating area. Noise from evening function was minimal thoughh so not too intrusive.
VERY comfortable No
Unique combination of traditional and modern. Staff generally excellent and welcoming. Peaceful setting was compromised by large and boisterous wedding party into the early hours. Also limited access to some parts of the hotel.
Staff were very helpful, food in the brasserie was excellent and well presented. Cottage rooms were a long way from the car park.
Staff were all extremely helpful and courteous, from the moment of arrival. The location is picturesque. Meals were very good (although a little on the expensive side) charges for bottled water with meals were rather high
Calm, quiet comfort. Excellent food. Single room on the small side.
Fantastic location and very helpful staff. Because we were having a reunion with a group of friends for the first time in many years I was unsure of the numbers able to attend until the last moment, however the staff were very accommodating and provided a separate dining room for us which really helped us to have a memorable night. No
The lovely surroundings and the river Yes - room not cleaned properly, found wrappings belonging to womens personal items on toilet floor.
