Late night front desk staff went above and beyond.
The daytime host at the restaurant is rude and condescending. This is the second stay during which he has been such. I may not take my meals there for my stay later this month because of his smart ass presence.
21C is an awesome bar/restaurant/gallery/hotel. We were excited to stay there on our first night of marriage since we had our first kiss there three years ago. The staff is excellent and the energy superb.
Unfortunately there was absolutely nothing distinctive about the room. For a hotel as well reviewed as this place, there needs to be a serious statement in the room with either art pieces, the design of the room, etc. This room could have easily been a new Westin or some urban Marriott concept. The rooms we stayed in had there share of use and will probably need to be renovated relatively soon. So if I were you, I'd save $100+ per night, stay at the Brown or Seelbach, and spend your savings on dinner and drinks at 21C/Proof. Or heck, get a boss Airbnb in the Highlands or Nulu.
