Great value for money and good location, underground parking close by. A cosey hotel with good staff I will stay again.
The feeling of hospitality in the Mabi hotel is great. In the afternoon there is complimentary coffee/tea and cake and in the evening wine and snacks. This means that everybody does use the 'salon' and that improves the atmosphere. The artwork in the hotel is great. I would stay again and recommend others to do so.
nice location, nice breakfast, fun atmosphere, rooms ok
Breakfast and service
Room was perfect, very comfortable, very clean. Slightly boring, but hey, your typical hotel room. Staff was very nice and the hotel is in a really great location. I think for the price of a single stay it's expensive since breakfast is not included. All hotels in Maastricht are expensive, I know (why, I wonder), but I thing it's a bit too much. Not even tea facilities in your room? City tax applied on top of the price etc etc.
They know well what hospitality means and they are generous in on-the-house offerings. We were glad to get little extras that we weren't expecting. The pillows were not comfortable to sleep on, and the promised double bed was in fact two twins put together.
Very central, easy to find from the train station and close to all we need.
Location was perfect for a city trip. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was far better than what we had expected! And the bowls with sweets next to the reception :o) The room had not been aerated before we came and it was a little bit stuffy. After aerating it for 15 minutes it was all good. Given we were told that the rooms were being checked when we arrived and that we therefore couldn't check-in yet, I would have expected that rooms would also be aerated. We had a room on the third floor and the hall in front of the elevator had a very strong smell. It's not a big downside but a little annoyance when you are waiting for the lift and when you get out of it.
The staff were very welcoming. All the staff were polite and helpful. The babysitter was excellent and the service allowed us some free time. The hotel was well situated and the history of the hotel made it an interesting place to stay. Parking instructions could be made clearer on the hotel's web page.
Friendly helpful staff, good selection of food at breakfast. It is 13 euro but buffet style so eat all you want. Free wireless internet a big plus. No restaurant but several within 2 minutes walk. Comfortable bed in a room that was certainly large enough for a solo traveler. Hotel is on a quiet street close to several Maastricht attractions. I would not hesitate to book this hotel again. No heat in the private bathroom. No air conditioning (could be a factor in the summer).
good breakfast, nice reception, excellent location small rooms
confort and wireless facilities
the food and the easy walk to the shops beds were to hard
to have room with one big bed
Location in city center The breakfast on sunday was really crowded
Easy to find and park nearby, friendly staff, good breakfast. I think they could supply more in bathroom shampoos etc.
Hotel was close and cheap, rooms were comfortable. Two chambermaids walked into our room without knocking !!
Closeness to main square and facilities Restaurant food in the evening is not of a great standard
room had strange smell, very loud noises throughout night, room was dirty, have stayed in better 1* rooms,1 very rude member of staff,no way a 4* let alone 4*deluxe,i even cut my holiday 1 day short because of this place, take your money & custom elsewhere
uncomplicated to expensive for what you get
the room was clean, comfortable and had a balcony also very good central locationm in the city it would be nice to have tea and coffee making facilites in the room, rather than just at reception
Breakfast OK, display a bit amateuristic
Very convenient. Easy to get to, on the main square and within range of many restaurants and shops. Maastricht is a very interesting town and there is a lot to see. The staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel is definitely unique The first room we were shown was very small and dark. We upgraded for E20 per night to a larger room which was (unfortunately) facing the main square and noisy. The lighting in all rooms is not very good--we found it difficult to read.
The location is unbeatable. Staff was friendly. Room always seemed to be thoroughly cleaned. We thought it was odd that there were no face cloths in the bathroom, just paper towels.
Friendly and helpfull staff. Big room and quiet. We liked the old world charm of the building and the marlbe decore. It was hot at the time (the hotel is not airconditioned) and the staff installed for us an oscillating fan. No
The view from the dining room window and the two lovely ladies who ensured we had the best "seat in the house" every morning!
Friendly staff- excellent central location but quiet. Charges for extras- parking ,internet and breakfast very steep.
rooms on plaza very loud at night due to restaurants under windows- windows did not seal well
Breakfast is not great.
Yes it was sufficient, the hotel is in a great, very convenient location. The breakfast was great and the lady who served it was lovely! The beds were comfortable. My room was on the street side it was very noisy which made my jet lag last longer than it should have, but I was moved thankfully. Some of the concierges (a younger fellow) didn't know much about the city, they should know everything there is to know about Maastricht, Cleaning service should remove dirty coffee/wine cups every day.
The atmosphere of the hotel is unique: modern design that tastefully blends with the old monastery and church. Also, the location is just about perfect: an easy 5 minute walk from the Vrijthof, it is just outside the center. Excellent ambiance for a special occassion or if you are used to comfort and taste. The restaurant is excellent as well, with an amuse-approach that has you spend an extended evening enjoying and talking. In two words: go there!
We were overwhelmed by the warmth of the welcome. We had seen on Booking.com that the hotel had four stars, but actually it's a five-star hotel, and this was evident from the moment we arrived. The service was superb, the building is a work of art, the rooms were spacious, elegant and very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely. We didn't actually want to leave the hotel to go sight-seeing, we were so happy there. We did go out, of course, but we were glad to be coming back to such a lovely, welcoming place. There is nothing we did not like about this hotel.
The excellent renovation of the church, keeping the cultural heritage for the City and the people of Maastricht and other visitors. The personnel was very professional and helpful and was thinking of those 'little things' which you normally do not expect. The room in which we stayed was not very well divided: the bathroom too small for two people, the hallway too big, glass doors that were in each other's way, no space around the bed etc etc. A compromise of interior architecture and use of the room which did bring a positive result for the visitor. As we stay and dine a lot with the Oostwegel group, this way a bit of a disappointment for our first visit to Kruisherenhotel.
nice spacy room with unique interior. Good beds, excellent breakfast Staff was relatively junior for the service standards - compared to many hotels I see accross Europe
everything was amazing. I love it! room service and valet parking service too expensive.
Very nice room, decoration of the hotel, nice ambiance, unique hotel as it is a renovated old monastery, walking distance from the city's centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was ready when we arrived and were able to check in from 12 instead of 15 which is the official check in time. The baby cot was already in the room, together with baby blankets, towel, baby cleaning staff, etc., which was a nice surprise compared to the service of other hotels with regards to baby cots. One night, we were late to eat at the restaurant and ordered room service. The quality of the room-service food was not at all equal to the standards of everything else in the hotel. I would say more like a fast-food.
It is a magnificent architectural experience. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff very professional.
Evening meal and attentive bar staff. Amazing hotel experience The breakfast was very, very poor for 24 euro's each. So bad we didn't stay after looking at the offerings
convenience to the vrijhof, the room was comfortable and clean, staff was very accomodating and friendly For the price, there was no workout facilities or sauna/spa or rooftop terrace where we could look out over the city. Breakfast should have been included with the room rate and there was no option for a la carte for dinner.
The design. It's really awesome to see how they build in the church a beautiful design hotel The price for one night stay of € 275 including parking (€ 30) and without breakfast (€ 27 for one person) is much to high for what you get.
well positioned by river and convenient for all parts of the town on foot Very comfortable bed Excellent breakfast Parking (at extra cost) was very convenient and secure
location and pleasant staff lights in hotelroom were not enough
we were in an apartment just opposite town hall so it was very central since the apartment is not part of the hotel and is a few minutes walk away, cleanliness is an issue. floors and dishes were not clean.
Central loacation was very useful to us because we were there to do business at Jaansen Nautique. We loved the view of the river and town.Very pleasant room, comfortable beds, especially nice bathroom. Helpful staff. The on-line booking price was very reasonable. There was wifi advertised and that was one reason for booking the hotel. It actually did not work in our room nor in the lobby. Even a hardwire connection did not work. We were unable to access the internet and that was dissappointing.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff are very friendly.
Reception is not situated next to the entrance and it gives you the feeling they don'y notice who comes into the hotel. Hotel room was small, clean, but value for money was poor. Furthermore, the area is close to the Markt, but strange people hang around the street, lot of foreign cars (drug tourists?).
Even though your e-mail confirmed that there was no extra charge for our 8 years old child - John at reception denied that you contacted him and charged extra.
Its Location was good Hotel room needs a little modernizing
The hotel was well located for us and the hotel rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. As we were in Maastricht to enrol our daughter into the university, the internet was an important part of the reason we chose this hotel. Not having internet was an inconvenience to us. Also, the stairs were steep and a lift would have been useful.
Good location, nice modern and trendy interior design. Clean and comfortable rooms Staff not very helpful. There was no room to sit for breakfast so we had to wait. The alarmclock went off at 6.10 in the morning and when we told reception the next day their only reply was that they could not de-activate this (without apologising). In the lounge area staff was very busy (doing what). They forgot our orders a few times and were not minding the tables (and it was not that busy). It is a pity that such a nice and trendy location is suffering from poor service! It devalues the perception of a luxurious 5 star hotel big time. Not worth the high price you have to pay for this...
The location and style of the hotel. Nothing, it was all good.
The Hotel is in the middle of the centrum of Maastricht. The cleaness of the room was not as it should be in such a class of hotels. The entrance hall is missing and it is not very comfortable to check in
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the location. Bathroom door in hotel room. Glass is not a good idea. Too much light in the morning comes through.
The hotel is in the centre of Maastricht - only a few steps to the shops. There is also a nice place to drink something just in front of the hotel.Very friendly staff. My room (deluxe room) was very small (ok for a short stay)
very relaxing and pleasant directions into the hotel from the main road were not very clear from the signage
We stayed in the self-catering apartments which are quite spacious and located close to the main hotel. Great location and staff were very helpful. Suggest that need a few more cooking implements (especially a toaster) given cooking facilities are present
The bed was very comfortable and I liked the room very much my view out the window was horrible....
The staff was very friendly. The location was perfect right in the centre of Maastricht. Could not have been better. No
The entire staff was great
breakfast should be better
The modern design of the hotel and the central location in Maastricht Check-inn from 12hrs untill 15hrs was a bit short, but we we're told in advance
Partly business, partly leisure.
The location was prime and the design very unique. Shower and sink were directly in room; we were girlfriends sharing a room so there was a lack of privacy for us during our howers
The maid was very friendly. They would not take a credit card; we had to pay in cash. The bathroom shower was a bit moldy, and there wasn't always hot water. The voices of owner/manager in office below our room was VERY LOUD.
The best things was the room which was very minimal but very cosy and the location. The breakfast was pretty basic.
The hotel position is perfect
value for money, middle of the centre of Maastricht and the room was very comfortable. Okay there is no bar but there more then enough bars in the area!
bed was very high qulity the reception is anawailable in the evening and in the moring - as a result < I did not properly checked out, need to call a hotel o ensure that evrything was o key and to ask them to send a confirmation of my payment
hotel rooms in design. position was excellent. l'occitante products
The breakfast, the location of the hotel
Very nice personnel, old style but functional, nice restaurants around no parking, not easy to reach by car
Missed some nice lights in the very dark blue room.
It was nicer than I expected. We had a room on the top floor and it was kind of cool looking because of the ceiling. The room was much bigger than I expected. There's no elevator so we had to take the stairs to the 4th floor. Fine for me, but my friend was lugging a heavy suitcase.
The staff were truly friendly, helpful and quite understanding even towards the children(1 and 4 years). Also we accidentaly kept the woman at the front desk for hours since we returned to the hotel to check in and move the ruggages before 10 instead of 2, which we told her first because the kids may need a nap. Though she was worried, she did not complain at all and just being kind. If the price could be a little lower... even better!!
small and cosy
Nice spacious room with real coffee making machine! The breakfast price was slightly expensive
Excellent breakfast '-
Very clean comfortable rooms. Nice Breakfast room and good selection at breakfast buffet. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Nespresso machine in the bedroom. Elegant dining area and salon.
The owners were very friendly and helpful The breakfast was a little dear for what you got (16 euro a head).
This was an historic building restored to high standard that was in the heart of Maastricht on the city market square. The location provided ample opportunity for exploring the city. Happy with the stay
Incredible attention to details.
The large room, the interior of the hotel, the location. The price of the breakfast. Way overpriced.
A beautifully decorated reception and dining area. Very helpful staff and very friendly. The breakfast was not included in the price.
Real character hotel with very central location. value for money for breakfast can be improved.
The location: centrally located in Maastricht close to university and picturesque parts of the city. The noise within the building and from the street. Double glazing or improved secondary glazing would be recommended. Within the building the walls ought to be insulated. the welcome notice point out that the building is old and therefore noisy, but this does not have to be the case. Noise from the wooden staircase cannot be removed, but the walls vibrated when the occupants of the next door room entered and left. This I believe to be unacceptable, even for a budget hotel.
ewerthing was really easy..nice friendly staff, and great location.Even parking is only 400 m for only 6 eur per day.For sure I will come back.
location was very good
Staff is very friendly, the breakfast is perfect and the location couldn't be better. There's no "tea facilities in the room.
location was excellent
Location, cleanliness, friendly atmosphere, ample breakfast There was no staff available upon arrival. Fellow guests told us we need to pick up our key from the staff of a restaurant nearby.
The hotel is right in the centre of Maastricht and the rooms at streetside have an amazing view. The showers and toilet are always clean. We received towels and soap, which was a nice surprise.
Fantastic, friendly helpful staff and owner; lovely bright spotlessly clean rooms, excellent buffet breakfast, bed superbly comfy! None!
Spotless condition and facilities in room
The hospitality of the staff, the location of the hotel, the cosiness of the room The beds were quite easy to move and therefore not very useful as a double bed
The location of the hotel was excellent. Good the opportunity to have meals at the Hotel Brasserie. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was large, modern and very tastefully decorated.
Beautiful room, amazing bed, great TV and the biggest bathroom I've seen in quite a while A bit noisy. You can hear the people in the room above creaking as they walk around and on the first night there was a lot of bass coming from a nearby club until about 3am.
The room was excellent, especially with the bath in the middle of it, we really enjoyed it! Perfect place for a romantic getaway in the middle of the city.
The location is fantastic, and the staff very friendly and helpful as well. When we arrived, we upgraded to a gorgeous large room with the sunken tub that looked onto the square. I feel that this is the nicest and most centerally located hotel in Maastricht. My husband and I had a 2 1/2 week vacation in Holland, and the Britannique was our favorite hotel, hands down. It's a real jewel! The decorations are lovely, and the bed is super comfortable. We really looked forward to the breaksfast in the morning too. Thanks Britannique for an amazing experience!
Comparing with the price of the rooms we expected beter hotel,at least a normal reception and entrance for the hotel, there is thecooking smell in the rooms coming from kitchen downstairs, very very inconvenient stairs to the rooms and no elevator, no mini bar etc, the only advantage is location and big rooms, I had brought guests to the hotel and hired room for them too, and I was ashamed a bit about the condition of the hotel. Not really
